[00:00:04]Yeah, it's kind of just like first of all, a lot of them don't delve into his personal life in general, let alone his marriages. You're kind of just skimmingly told that Muhammad showed the perfect the perfect example of the perfect man that he married women of all ages just to show like Wait, it doesn't even focus on the age thing. It just says like he married widows, he married like women that were divorced, he married, you know, fat women, tall women. He's trying to show that you shouldn't, you know, it's not a just about marrying someone for their looks.

[00:00:35]That's how they spun it. Um they never said, "Oh, he married a child, by the way, and that's going to cause and wreak havoc across the world."

[00:00:43]I mean, look what's happening in Iraq and Afghanistan and all these countries. But that little detail, uh specifically her age as well, is very much skipped over. When I was growing up, um a lot of these sources were still not readily available on the internet.

[00:00:58]So, they were kind of mystified. Like, all of this is found mostly in this in the Hadith collection for Sunni Muslims, and a lot of that is just in Arabic, and it's like these really complicated books um that are very hard to access the material within.

[00:01:12]Unless you actively go searching for the life of Muhammad, which I was doing cuz, as I said, my religion was unraveling for me. So, I actually went to his life to think that might save me and keep me in the religion because the Quran was so bad um as I read it with an adult mind.

[00:01:27]And then I was just disgusted because yes, his marriage to Aisha is problematic, but his other marriages are I wouldn't say equally, but as, you know, problematic in their own ways. But for me, that that ultimate learning of realizing her age, cuz the actual, as you mentioned, the Hadith itself says, "Married at six, consummated at nine."

[00:01:49]Who am I to argue with Islam's most original sources that they say, "You know, I'm going to take their word at face value"? Cuz you get people who now, as you've probably come across, they retrospectively they say, you know, puberty early onset puberty and in the desert back then and conditions were different and, you know, she was at Oh, that's all lies and nonsense.

[00:02:10]There's no evidence whatsoever. In fact, I don't think the evidence points to like anthropologically the evidence points to 12 to 14 for sort of puberty and period starting at 15. So, if anything, she's likely to be older than women are now or girls are now.

[00:02:25]But I also think the the other thing about wearing a hijab and the fact that the hijab is so closely connected to, um, you know, you're the gatekeeper of men's sin, right? When you wear a hijab because if you don't wear a hijab, then who knows what he'll do and it won't be his fault, it'll be your fault. Um, and all of those things I just in in one way I sort of think I wouldn't like I'd like Islam not to exist at all anywhere.

[00:02:51]But, at the very very least, I don't want it in the United Kingdom. And and if it is going to be in the United Kingdom, I'd like it to be a really, really small number, insignificant number of people.

[00:03:02]But actually what we've imported is not just Islam but some of the worst kind of poorly educated, you know, the some of the people they're not going to rationalize any of it. They're not even going to excuse Muhammad. They're going to think it's perfectly fine that he he married a 6-year-old and and uh consummated the marriage, um, at nine. Uh, >> Even the word is awful, isn't it? That they actually say consummation as if it's not rape.
