Memorial Day Weekend: some rain and storms possible but not a washoutHinzugefügt:
The storm track eight, it was uh it was nice that the weather was able to cooperate this morning. Not so much right now.
>> No. Um and you talked about it last night, Keith. It's all about timing this weekend, right?
>> On Sunday, especially for the race. Now, tomorrow afternoon will be much, much drier. I think our Saturday afternoon will morph into a pretty good day. It's Sunday It's >> what about Sunday?
>> I know. Sunday is still in doubt. Let's get into it, Gina. Don't rush me. Don't Don't rush the forecast. All right. We need We need the good stuff here. All right. I know. Let's get into it. Here's Memorial Day weekend. A chance for some wet weather here each and every day, but the big thing is race day on Sunday, of course. And we We should start out in the 60s by the afternoon, 75 to 80 degrees, mid to upper 70s. There will be a disturbance coming in. We could have some wet weather early or later on. The timing and the placement still in doubt. We're just broad brushing the chance there.
We've actually bumped it up to about 40% here on Sunday. But, the disturbance in question is way out there in the Rockies. This thing is coming our way, and it will give us an opportunity for some wet weather right there on our Sunday. But, we just have to watch the radar trend Sunday. I can't give you any more concrete timing at this point because we don't have the storms actually formed yet on radar, the showers. But, we do have this on radar.
This first wave of light rain moving through right now. There is more heavier and steady rain with some thunder down in Kentucky. That is lifting our way for the rest of this evening and tonight.
So, some of us will get a break, and then some additional rain coming on in.
But, it's chilly across the entire region. A mix of 60s and 50s here on the Friday before Memorial Day weekend. A few outliers north and west, some low 70s, but most of us in the 60s and 50s right now. It's going to be a chilly night. Columbus, you've had over a quarter of an inch of rain so far, just 0.04 in Indianapolis. And between now and the next 3 days, north and west, a quarter of an inch, perhaps south and east, over an inch. And some of this rain later this evening, tonight, and tomorrow morning early, southeast of Indy could be on the heavier or steadier side. Lows anywhere from the upper 50s to low 60s tonight. And for tomorrow, we start to dry things out. 70s in the afternoon pushing 80 across southwestern Indiana, 76 in Indianapolis. Now, if you're going downtown for the big parade, it looks like we'll be on the somewhat drier side, 67 at 11:00 tomorrow, 71 at 2:00. The better rain chance overnight in the first part of tomorrow. Now, here's Sunday, the odds of rain on the lower side for the first part of the day, but as we get closer to race time and into the afternoon, we could have some rain and thunder somewhere in the region. So, let's get into Futurecast. We've got this rain moving through tonight, could be on the steadier or heavier side later this evening and tonight, but by tomorrow morning, a lot of this is shifting away.
Midday for the parade should be on the drier side and likely a little bit more sunshine with 70s tomorrow afternoon.
Your Sunday morning, cloudy or mostly cloudy.
The timing and the placement critical here, there could be some rain early or late. We just don't know exactly where that's going to be. Later on, that disturbance should shift away, but at some point Sunday, we are going to have some rain and thunder around. For Monday, Memorial Day itself, it looks like we'll dry things out. Can't rule out a little bit of rain, especially farther south, but pretty dry, highs in the mid to upper 70s to around 80°. Your Morgan the Morgan 7-day forecast, so that's your holiday weekend. Next week, around 80° with a continuing chance for at least a few showers and storms in
