This video presents a citizen's perspective on Ireland's political and social crisis, arguing that the government has failed to serve the Irish people through economic burdens (immigration funding, fines), threats to national neutrality via the 'triple lock,' rising cost of living, inadequate childcare, and increased youth crime. The speaker calls for women to lead in demanding government accountability, proposing a 15-member cabinet with 6 months to reform the constitution and electoral system, emphasizing that citizens deserve representatives who fight for their interests rather than treating them as 'sound bites.'

Ireland Is Changing Fast – Why Thousands Are Demanding Action Now
Added:Politics in this country has failed.
It's obvious now at this stage that it just doesn't work.
And when the government of the country that's elected by the people no longer listens to the people or no longer does what's right for the Irish people.
And this is the case in the UK. It's a similar case in France and Germany which have now broke both their economies.
And Ireland is probably one of the better economies. And we support them at the moment. Everything that they can fine us for, everything that they can convince the Irish government to fund for them. Uh be it immigration, pay them money if you don't take the immigrants, give them 20,000 euro a head for every immigrant they want to send in.
Fine us for digging a bit of turf up in the bog. It's all drawn money out of the Irish economy because we're probably doing better than most economies for the moment.
Although we are deep in debt.
And we have the triple lock coming which is going to end our neutrality. And people need to have a referendum before our neutrality is gone. Otherwise, we will have sons and daughters being conscripted to go fight wars that are not of any of our benefits. So, that's coming down the line and mothers and wives will have to see sons and moving off to fight wars in foreign lands and come back in body bags.
And this government is setting us up for that.
And make no mistake, they can paint it in any way they like. We do not get involved in other people's wars.
We should not be funding other people's wars in any shape, form, or manner.
Ireland should be number one. We have enough problems in our country, where they were funding other wars.
Donald Trump type of politics just goes on in America, where he decides he'll start a war.
We'll be part of this going forward if the triple lock is done away with.
But in the meantime, we have our own problems. We have our own problems about the cost of living, which is gone completely crazy.
And it's getting worse. And we're heading into the winter now and we've a budget coming in October, which is going to be more taxes, more increases. Don't be fooled into thinking that there's going to be benefits for the Irish people in the budget. It doesn't happen.
It's given to you in one hand, a very public figure, and then taken away in any other many other ways.
Um So, what do we do? What's the alternative?
Well, I'm calling on the women of Ireland to stand up. The women of Ireland who see their children can't get proper child care, have to go out and work. The option to stay in at home now and rearing a family is gone. Gone completely. It can't be done. One income One income is two incomes is not enough anymore to buy a house, if you can get a house.
And you're out there and you have to work and often work at meaningless jobs with meaningless pay just to survive on a low a low wages.
So, I'm calling on the women of Ireland to stand up.
The men have done it.
And let's say we failed to a certain extent. We have We absolutely have.
We've been fighting our own in small protests here and there and everywhere and all it is it's it's just a day out. The government are laughing at us.
We're just sound bites, as you see from the Michelle Smith campaign. She worked her arse off to get thousands of tens of thousands of people into their emails to email the TDs to say this has to stop.
And the government stood up and they laughed in front of the television cameras. They smiled.
You know, we're just sound bites.
We're not people anymore. We're sound bites.
We're annoying sound bites.
And they're going to throw us out of Tik Tok shortly because you might say something that interferes with their agenda.
The safety of our children on the streets is just gone completely, you know, to leave your daughter or your son, your 17- or 18-year-old daughter or son out to a nightclub when they're when they're flying the nest and trying to find their feet in the world and to go out there and the chances of being stabbed and being raped are very high.
They're very high now and it's one time my kids are only 29 and 24 and when they were 17 or 18 going out, you wouldn't sleep until they come home. You'd be waiting to hear a door banging or something that they're that they're home and and and they're safe.
And that was before. And that's not many years ago, but now I wouldn't like to leave them out.
We live in rural Ireland and it's very it's very quiet, but we have local towns that I wouldn't walk down the street after 9:00.
No way.
It's dangerous enough walking down there during the day actually.
You just don't know what these people are thinking.
Uh what's going on in their head. They have no understanding of our psychology.
They have no understanding of our thoughts. We don't understand their language.
And misunderstandings can happen and the knives come out and that's it.
All right, in the night time these guys, they're men hundreds of men come in see the girls in Ireland out enjoying ourselves maybe have a little bit more liquor than they should a little bit uh over the top with the with the with the drink and they'll take advantage of them. They'll they'll be dragged in and raped and it's going to happen and it will happen and there'll be more murders and there'll be more outcries.
So, I'm asking the mothers of Ireland to stand up to get together and fight this time and don't back down. We need change. We need people to stand up, put their name out there, and organize, and get together, and put a stop to all this.
You would have to ask yourself what is the alternative? Like do we get out and do we get this government out of office and then what? Do we have an election? Do we have an election and I suppose elect the same in with a different coat on.
And that is the reality.
So, what I'd like to see happening is that we dissolve this government one way or another quick sooner.
And put a cabinet together of 15 senior peoples in this country, people that are passionate about our country, patriots that represent every sector of the country. 15 of them middle of the table, the same as what we have in the cabinet at the moment.
Give them 6 months to straighten out the constitution, update it, do do what they have what's after being undone by this Irish government.
And do away with this election system, this proportional representation election system that we have, and put in a proper election system that will elect good people away from politics, away from the corruption in we have. It has to be done. It's going to have to be done in every country in Europe at least.
And we are all in big big trouble.
The people have got to put in elected representatives that elect the people, that fight for the people, that fight for everything for and and spend every penny of tax wisely and on the Irish people and on the country.
So, that's where I'm coming from.
And we are going to have this protest.
And I hope the women are going to lead the way.
They want to.
They're the ones that are suffering in this country. They're the ones actually have suffered since the beginning of the state. I mentioned before about the mother and baby homes and they've always been crucified. And now they're being crucified again. Their choice of life is is over. They cannot stay at home and rear the kids anymore. Absolutely not.
They have a child now. They have 10 years of torture between child care, school runs.
And then after that 10 years, you've got the the school costs, the university costs, the educate the the total educational costs and all that goes with it to get a youngster now up to the age of 20. And um then they'll get on a plane and they'll leave.
And if the government has this chance to get on a plane and go fight a war and come home in a body bag.
But they'll get on the plane and they'll leave. And you'll become the grandmother, the FaceTime grandmother of your sons and daughters in Australia and Canada, where you can log on and see your grandkids on Facebook and maybe visit once a year.
That's the future.
That's the future.
And the women of Ireland, they can change this. And I'm calling on you now to get together.
We have a plan.
