Visiting 2 Moons of Uranus and Returning! | SFS 1.6Added:
Hi there. Hello. It is I, Lego Sonic fan 17, back with another epic space flight simulator video. And in today's SFS video, we're launching this orange rocket to the moons of Uranus because, in my opinion, the moons of Uranus are often overlooked by uh many people.
People usually just uh like go to the moons of Saturn or Jupiter because they're the most uh impressive out of the solar system. and even Neptune because you know how Neptune has Triton which uh orbits backwards. Is that foreshadowing? Who knows? [laughter] Uh yeah. So, the moons of Uranus are not really that visited, at least from what I've seen in this game. So, uh I want to change that because they're very interesting uh [music] places to go to.
They have very interesting uh like uh surface features and from from this trip alone, I found some really good locations to place a base.
So yeah, that's that's what I'm going to say about the moons of Uranus. They're great. You guys should go to the moons of Uranus. And um yeah, uh so yeah, that's that's my uh that's my tip for today. Please go to the moons of Uranus because they're very interesting.
And um yeah, so we're now burning towards the uh the the the the planet Urus. I don't know what I was going to say there. Why did I say so many does?
Uh yeah, so we're now going to Uranus.
Uh using the Oberth effect a bit to uh you know um burn like I I mean it wasn't necessary because the ship had enough thrust to do the entire burn in one go, but I don't know. I just felt like it was you know uh important. Oh, look guys, go ahead and subscribe to the channel right now because Lego Tales is telling you to and uh you don't want to say no to him, right? Because he's [music] cute and all. Uh so yeah, we are now uh turning the spacecraft and beginning our docking maneuver. This spacecraft is um you know this mission is Apollo uh style in which we uh take the top of the command module, rotate it 180° and then dock it with the lander that is uh stationed under the uh command and service module. So there goes the Earth. Bye-bye Earth. You uh the moon was also there. Bye-bye moon.
Uh we'll see you in I don't know how many years. How many years does it take to get to Uranus? I think like last time I checked it was like one. No, [laughter] it's way more than one. Uh, it's like seven or eight years or something. I don't know. Um, correct me if I'm wrong.
Uh, which I I probably am because I don't research my things before making these videos. So, um, yeah. Okay. Okay, so we're now approaching the uh the Uranus system and we are ready to fire our main engine on the second stage. As you can see, we did not ditch the second stage. We're still attached to it. Uh because yeah, we we want to use up all of the fuel on on that stage before we, you know, detach it because I don't know, I just like using every single drop of fuel on my missions. Uh, and also I just did the reorientation maneuver to uh give the astronauts more room to, you know, uh I I guess uh like chill inside uh both of both of the spacecraft. I mean, I'm not saying chill. We're like near uh Uranus. Not that type of chill, you know, like relax and stuff. Uh that was very close, by the way. I almost hit the uh the stage with the solar panel.
Thankfully, I was like a few centimeters off, so I didn't actually hit it. Um, so, uh, yeah, we're now approaching our first destination. We're going to be visiting two moons in this video. Um, our first destination is Miranda because Miranda is a cool mission. I not mission, [laughter] Miranda's a cool moon because it has uh pretty interesting surface features. It has a lot of cliffs and a big trench, which I will uh show later on in the video. Uh, so yeah. So, we're now entering orbit around Miranda and um yeah, I guess that's it. Uh we will soon undock the lander and head down to the [music] surface of the uh the moon. Uh I should probably point out something that you guys probably already uh you know saw since the beginning of the video, and that is that this rocket looks blueprint edited. But the thing is it is not. the entire rocket at this is also why I'm making the video is because this is a mod showcase. Yes, this is uh this is me showcasing the procedural [music] parts mod. This entire rocket as well as well as a lander and uh the the command [music] module. I mean I said the entire rocket so you would think that would also include that right instead of saying each thing separately. Uh all of it is made with the procedural parts mod. Uh, so yeah. Uh, that's that's really cool. And uh, yeah, I I really love this mod because it's like blueprint editing, but like you do it from the build area. Although it's not really like blueprint editing. It's more of like um, you know, you could just change the height of the [music] fuel tanks and the width for like engines.
You can you can remove the flame if you want on the engines. So you could just have the engines uh like you could turn the engine on and no flame would come out but it would still produce thrust.
And uh for like the solar panels uh you can also um uh [music] what's it called?
Change the texture of the solar panels so it's no longer the um that grid panel texture. Uh yeah, it's a really good mod. I highly recommend you get it.
There's a good video on how to download this mod um in on here on YouTube. Uh, I'll link it down below in the description. I might also like link the guy's channel. I mean, it's going to be in the video, but anyway, so I don't actually have to do that. Uh, so yeah.
Um, yeah. This mod's pretty cool. I highly recommend it. Oh, yeah. Look, we already landed on um on Miranda, by the way. But this is not our only landing on this moon. We're actually going to the next uh place on the moon, which I can't actually tell what that says from here.
Uh, what does that say? and uh something corona. Yeah. Oh no. Scary. It takes us back to 2020. We're going back to [music] 2020 with this one, boys. So uh yeah, we're going um on a grand tour of this moon. We're going to every place um on, you know, on on this moon because I don't know. It's just a very small place and uh it's I don't know. It's just cool to um to visit it. I guess it it doesn't take that that much fuel to go uh you know like around the moon like this. So yeah, uh we're going to be landing near this [music] big trench. This is a big trench I was talking about earlier. Uh I was um I I was briefly considering like going inside the trench and landing all the way like at the uh bottom, but I was like, "No, you know what? I'm going to go right up to the edge because, you know, I like um daring myself to do things like this." And we did get pretty close to the edge uh without falling, which is a good thing. I mean, if we fell, it didn't really matter because we had RCS thrusters and an engine, so we could have just, you know, um fired the thrusters to not fall anymore. But yeah.
Uh so we're now heading uh we're doing this little uh we're doing we're doing this little hop here because uh there we go. I got it. We're doing this little hop here because uh I didn't get the landed on uh location because I landed a little too far away. For some reason, I thought the trench was near the location. Uh even though now that I'm looking at it, it's not. So, uh yeah, but hey, at least we wasted a little more fuel. Uh because, you know, it's I like having my uh spacecraft having like enough fuel to do the mission and then return. I saw a comment asking me how do I know how much fuel I have. Uh and all I got to say is just I don't know. I I just know I'm just that good at the game. No, I actually uh I actually just guess until I uh I build the rocket and I'm like uh I'm pretty sure that's enough. And then I just test it a couple times to see if it could actually do what I um what I was you know what I intended the rocket to do. Uh so yeah.
Um, and that just so happened to be Ariel. Not Ariel, Miranda, and another moon that we're going to visit later on.
Uh, oh, look, there's a spacecraft right there. Uh, right there visible. I'm pretty sure the astronauts on the command module are very happy to see the astronauts on the lander. Uh even though they probably didn't see each other because it was too far away, at least they saw the silhouette or the like the um the the the lander contrasted against the black uh darkness of space. So, [music] um yeah, we're now landing on our third um location. It's uh this little dip here on the ground. Uh I could have landed on like on the edge again, but I don't know. I just didn't feel like it. And we've landed on uh Corona. Uh so, yay. That's uh kind of interesting. Is there two places called Corona? I think I think so. Yeah, because um recently there was a I I I remember the I slightly remember the name of the last one. It was also like Corona. So, uh yeah, maybe there's two places named Corona and I just didn't pay attention until right now when I'm recording this commentary. Um so, yeah, we're now heading up to orbit. It isn't much of a launch, more of like a small uh relight of the engine. And our docking was pretty easy, as you can see, because the lander was uh very close to the actual orbiter. I did not actually intend that to happen, by the way. It just happened by chance, which uh you know, I was like, you know what? I'll just take it because it's uh right here and I don't want to um you know uh do this mission again because I I usually whenever doing these missions I it it takes me like one or two tries uh because I don't know sometimes I mess up like I think at on [music] in one point like in a in a previous attempt I accidentally separated the service module while trying to activate the RCS thrusters uh and uh reverting 30 seconds it kind of uh ruined the look of those golden uh fuel tanks. So, uh yeah. Um if you don't know what I'm talking about, you'll see it later because I I revert to 30 seconds. Anyway, uh because I I think I Oh, I accidentally pressed one of the fairings because like the door of the lander um or at least a suggestion of a door because it's a fairing. Uh I accidentally pressed it and it exploded and [laughter] I had to revert 30 seconds. So, if you see a weird lighting issue on the lander, you know what happened. The um I accidentally pressed the fairing and [music] it broke and I had to revert 30 seconds. So, yeah. So, we're now approaching our second destination, which is Umbreel. Uh that's also a very interesting uh moon because uh if if you saw a little earlier, I I um like as soon as I got into orbit, it before I went to like a destination, I zoomed into all all of the moons to see what place was uh good enough to [music] go to. And I was considering going to like Puck because it was like the closest to Urus, but um I was like, "No, let's just keep going." And then I saw these surface features on uh Umbreo. It was a mountain and I was like, you know what? I'm going to go to this mountain.
It looks really cool. Uh so yeah, uh you could say this surface feature on uh Umbreel piqued my interest. Haha, please laugh. [laughter] Uh so yeah, um this is not the mountain I originally zoomed into. That's because I changed um location last second before uh like uh de-orbiting because I don't know, this one just seemed more interesting. It was like next to a cliff and um you know it uh it was just more steep. So if I fell uh off the mountain, it would be more dramatic. So yeah. Um yeah, that's cool. Trying to come up to the edge again. Uh I I completely forgot to mention this, but I hope the footage uh was enough to tell you. Uh th this has nothing to do with what uh what's on screen. By the way, uh on on our first landing to um to uh to Miranda, there were like little uh RC, not RCS, like little um little thrusters that fired, like the LK lander to pin the lander down to the surface. Those were separatrons that are included with this mod. So, if you have this mod, uh yeah, this is Oh, hold on. Wait, look at this.
That was insanely close. Uh yeah, that that that was terrifying. I almost screamed whenever this happened in real life. I'm not even saying that to be funny. I genuinely almost like uh you know, like whenever you brace yourself for something like this, but like uh you know, I pretty much just braced myself for impact, but uh thankfully nothing happened. So yeah. Um, you know, like uh whenever you braced yourself for like um [music] an impact or something, like whenever it's like on TV or something, you brace yourself, but like uh then you're like, why did I brace myself if like bracing myself wasn't really going to do much of a difference? Am I making sense? [laughter] I don't know. So, we're now performing our burn to return to the Earth. As you can see, we have our lander attached, but not for long because I I guess I forgot to detach the lander uh beforehand. So, uh, yeah, that we're going to be doing that now. Uh, transferring all of the fuel to the from the lander to the, uh, main, uh, service, uh, and command module and detaching the lander like at a diagonal angle to, you know, get it out of the way. Switching back to the lander for a second to see if I did have all of the fuel um, you know, transferred.
So, uh, yeah, we're now heading out of the Uranus system and back to the Earth.
Uh so yeah, how how how has uh your your day been? Uh I've had a great day myself. I just went to a friend's house yesterday and it was really uh really cool. He had a pool. I might post some like pictures or like some >> [music] >> uh things. I don't know here on screen.
We actually recorded a video, you know, like the CEO video, like the McDonald's video of like the CEO trying the burger.
We made like a little parody of that video. I don't know if you guys want to see it. I might upload it on the channel or I don't know, I might post it on Tik Tok. Who knows? Or like a short, I don't know. So, uh yeah, just let me know if you guys want to see that. Uh so, we're now approaching Earth. Um turning around to fire our engine to begin to slow down because if we re if we reenter the atmosphere this fast, the capsule would just become uh it would just become ashes in uh in the atmosphere. So yeah, obviously that would be a bad thing for the astronauts. Uh so yeah, uh pointing radial out a bit because I noticed I was my trajectory was inside the atmosphere.
I was doing this weird thing pointing radial in and radial out like repeatedly. So uh I I don't know. I guess just to make sure. And uh right there it wasn't a great separation because I accident was I was going to take away the uh like fuel gauge from the capsule so it wasn't showing but then I accidentally clicked the separator. I was going to revert 30 seconds, but I was like, "No, you know what? I'm already on a re-entry trajectory." Um, what's the point? Uh, it it'll, you know, it'll just mess up the lighting again. [laughter] So, uh, yeah, I've now re-entered the Earth's atmosphere, and with that, uh, comes the end of the video. Unfortunately, we don't splash down. We land in the Sahara Desert. But hey, it's fine because, you know, the astronauts have been on a mission to probably one of the coldest planets in the solar system. So, uh, landing in the middle of the Sahara Desert is probably nice for them, you know, because they would they're probably looking for some very hot weather right now to, you know, uh, warm up. So, yeah. Uh, with that, uh, I was going to say splash down. With that landing comes the end of the video. I really hope you guys enjoyed the video.
Make sure to leave a like down below if you like what you saw here today. And, I don't know, maybe even subscribe if you want to. My socials are down in the description if you want to find me outside of YouTube. And, uh, I just wanted to show this really quickly. For some reason, I didn't get the achievements, even though I clearly did do the landings. Uh, this was recorded after I recovered the craft. So, I I I don't know what happened. Um, maybe it was something uh like with the mod or with the game. I don't know. I just wanted to show this. Uh, so yeah, that'll be it for the video. Uh, have a wonderful uh day.
