A dry cold front brings cooler temperatures and low humidity without significant precipitation, as the front moves through dry air masses with dew points in the 30s and 40s, creating conditions where isolated storms may form but produce minimal rainfall.

Dry, sunny spring weather until weekend heatwaveAdded:
locations for folks as they try to get back on their feet. I mean, costs are still pretty high up there. So, we know that things need to be Yeah, still a long haul. We got a lot of projects that still have to be done. It's pretty wild the the amount of infrastructure that has to be rebuilt up there. Uh weather-wise tonight, very clear, very comfortable across the Carolinas. We're seeing another free air conditioning night. You can open those windows, get some fresh air in the house. Certainly is absolutely beautiful out there with temperatures falling back into the 40s and 50s. Dry cold tomorrow. And basically, that means the front arrives.
No moisture with it. By the weekend, the heat cranks up. Tomorrow will be a warmer day. Ahead of that cold front, we should see temperatures jump up into the upper 70s. A few spots will be close to 80° with that west-southwest wind. The reason you can open your windows tonight, not only is it cool, but the pollen is down. We're over the worst of the tree pollen. They usually get to mid-May, really drops off quickly.
There's still some out there. I could see some on the car and some of the tables today as well. But now a high day is in the medium range. We're not seeing the high and very high levels. Pine, oak, and cedar are still your three primary pollens out there. Now, as a dry cold front approaches tomorrow, there could be some strong storms. Maybe up towards the Virginia-North Carolina border. Incredibly isolated storms though. That's the thing I'll emphasize here. These are not going to be widespread. I'll show you why here in a minute. As the front approaches, it's going to move into this really dry air mass. We've got dew points in the 30s and 40s. So, there's really nothing to work with with this front. So, any isolated showers, they're likely going to be incredibly small and really not producing that much rain. So, even if you get under one of these, you're not going to see much rain. And most of us will not see anything at all as we go into tomorrow night. But the 20% chance of rain, I'll show you what it looks like. It's pretty pathetic, to be honest with you. I'd probably go even lower if I could, maybe 10%. But that's it. 8:00 9:00 tomorrow night, here comes the front. You know, there's a maybe a stray shower here or there. So, some raindrops might reach the surface. But all in all, it's a pretty dry forecast. And that's why we're considering a dry cold front.
It will reinforce the cool air. So, Thursday into Friday, we'll see the morning lows back in the 40s briefly and afternoon highs in the low 70s. Very low dew points as well um as that front crosses the area for Thursday and Friday. Dew points could jump back up into the 60s starting Sunday, and that's a sign of some heat and humidity that's really going to crank up next week. And when we see that happen, we could maybe just maybe see an isolated shower thunderstorm chance next week, but you see the chances of rain. I mean, when you're in the isolated range in the middle of a drought, that's not what you want to see. And I will tell you the drought's going to last all summer because we're not going to get any substantial rainfall until the cold fronts get more active, and that's not until the fall or wintertime. So, the heat's going to build. That's going to drain a lot of that moisture out of your plants and vegetation. So, as dry as it is now, things are going to be getting worse here. That creates high evaporation rates as well. So, water levels in lakes and reservoirs begin to go down, and that heat really starts to crank up this weekend leading to a very summer-like feel going into next week as we get ready for Memorial Day Weekend.
Your Jerry Hunt Supercenter 7-Day Forecast. Enjoy the comfortable weather for the next 3 days. Heat builds this [music] weekend and then into next week it gets humid. So, there are some rain chances, possibly scattered to isolated thunderstorms mid to late next week.
Break.
