The Department of Justice has launched a criminal investigation into E. Jean Carroll, the former magazine columnist who accused President Donald Trump of sexual assault, focusing on whether she committed perjury during her two civil lawsuits against him; this investigation specifically examines a 2022 deposition where Carroll stated she had not received outside funding for her legal proceedings, despite her lawyers later revealing she had received funding from billionaire Reid Hoffman, with Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche recusing himself from the case due to prior involvement in related appeals.

Trump Enemy Gets Nasty Surprise From DOJ — This Is Worse Than You ThinkAdded:
The Trump curse strikes again. Now targeting someone who brought a frivolous lawsuit against the president.
What's up, guys? My name is Jesse Hughes, and you are watching Resist the Mainstream. The DOJ has opened an investigation into E. Jean Carroll, who accused the president of sexual assault, for perjury.
Accusing her of potentially perjuring herself during her two civil lawsuits.
Now, interim AG Blanche has recused himself from this case. I believe that he was one of the attorneys who was helping defend Trump during this prosecution, during this civil lawsuit, but they are opening investigation looking for perjury. And the left is, of course, freaking out. In this clip that we're about to watch from CNN, you can hear the dismay and disgust in the voice of the CNN anchor saying, "But But there was a verdict, wasn't there?" It's a hilarious clip, and we're going to play that for you in just a moment. But before we get to that, before we get to anything else, make sure you hit that subscribe button so that you never miss any of our content.
Now, we all remember these lawsuits. We all remember Trump defending himself. He didn't know the woman. I have no idea who this woman was. I have no idea. I've never met her in my life.
And, you know, we we know Trump's reputation. We know his past. We know kind of what he was into when he was younger. And does this look like the kind of woman that he would be interested in?
I I don't see it. Maybe you see something that I don't. But we all know that the lawsuits were bogus, just like all of the other criminal and civil cases that were brought against Trump while he was out of office during the Biden administration. They were all bogus, political persecution meant to target the president. And now we're seeing those who brought these frivolous suits and these frivolous charges reaping the consequences. You sow what you reap.
We've seen Letitia James come under investigation. We've seen Fani Willis come under investigation.
We've seen all of these people come under investigation, the Biden administration officials who orchestrated the phony charges. They're being looked into. All of these people are being looked at, and all of these people are reaping what is called the Trump curse. You mess with the president, you swing for the king, you better not miss. You swing for the crown, you better not miss.
These people are now learning exactly what it means when somebody says FA FO.
These frivolous suits were nothing more than political persecution.
They were meant to try to destroy the man who was actually trying to put America first and make America great again.
But they didn't work, did they?
Trump got reelected. He became president again in 2024.
So, it's good to see accountability, and it's good to see the other shoe drop, as they say. Now, I want to hear what you guys think about all of this. Drop a comment down below, tell me what you think, and let's watch this next clip together.
>> Justice Department, CNN is learning, has launched a new criminal investigation into one of Trump's enemies, E. Jean Carroll. Now, E. Jean Carroll was the former magazine columnist who accused President Donald Trump of sexual assault. Uh ended up being that he was liable for sexual abuse. The source is telling CNN that the investigation now is focused on whether Carroll committed perjury during her two civil lawsuits against the president. Paula Reid is breaking the story, and she's out front.
Paula, what else are you learning about this? I mean, there was obviously a verdict here.
>> That's right. And here, Erin, this is the latest move by the Justice Department to take action against one of President Trump's long-standing foes.
Our sources tell us that this investigation is focused on a 2022 deposition that Carroll gave, where she said that she had not received any outside funding. Now, her leader Her lawyers later told the judge that she had, in fact, received funding for legal fees and expenses from billionaire Reid Hoffman. The judge overseeing this case ultimately said there were no issues with her credibility and blocked Trump lawyers from asking about this at trial.
Now, Carroll currently has multiple legal battles with Trump currently pending including one before the Supreme Court. And notably, Erin, the Supreme Court has deferred 12 times on a decision whether they want to take up that case. Now, over the Justice Department, acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, I am told, has recused from this case because he worked on one of the appeals uh related to the Carroll case. Now, I'm told he has not attended any meetings or been in any discussions about this investigation. The case is currently being handled out of the US Attorney's Office in Chicago. Now, tonight, the Justice Department issued a statement saying, quote, "We can confirm that no US Attorney's Office has declined to investigate any case relating to the subject matter of CNN's inquiry. We will not comment beyond that." Now, Carroll's team tonight declined to comment.
