When solving equations with fractions, cross-multiplication can simplify the structure by eliminating denominators, transforming the equation into a standard linear form that is easier to solve; for example, the equation 5x + 2 = 2(3x - 1) simplifies to 5x + 2 = 6x - 2, which further simplifies to -x = -12, yielding x = 12.

Polish Math Exam 2026 — Task 9 Full Solution追加:
All right, this task is testing something very basic. It's really checking whether fractions get us for no reason.
Because once we multiply across, this is just a normal equation.
5 * x + 2 = 2 * 3x - 1.
This already looks much friendlier. 5x + 10 = 6x - 2. Now we just move things to the opposite side. -x = -12. So, x = 12.
That's it. That's our solution.
