Senator Tim Kaine Weighs in On Taylor, Travis PrenupAdded:
You know, I have a Taylor Swift question for you.
>> Well, okay, you're going to find what a dunce I am with how popular >> It's okay. You don't even need to follow her to to get this question. So, you know her and Travis Kelce, they're getting married, right?
>> Chiefs fan. I grew up in Kansas City, so that I do know. How's it going, sir? Are you getting off here, basement? No, I'm first one. Okay. You go up to >> It's a confusing elevator system. Don't feel bad. Happens all the time, right?
>> Okay. So, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, they're getting married. And right now they're considering which states have the most favorable pre-nup laws.
Oh my god. You know, because it's like there's a bunch of places that they could get married in. So, do you think though that pre-nup laws should be federalized? Like what? No? Why not?
>> Absolutely.
Um I think you should only federalize something when it is like really important that there be a national policy. And, you know, Virginia has different rules about many different things than Kansas does where I grew up.
>> Mhm. And actually, I kind of think that that's a system that was set up to make sense because then you learn some things, well, this one state did something that we didn't do. And actually, that's good. And then you learn from it. And I think the notion of, you know, one size fits all for, you know, Washington state and Florida and Maine and California, I don't think it makes much sense.
>> But but does it make sense for people to go hunting like between Maine and Kansas and New York just because some laws are better than other ones?
>> I like Taylor Swift only because I'm not a big music Taylor Swift music fan.
>> Yeah. But I'm a Chiefs fan, so like what's not to like? But if you're spending too much time thinking about the pre-nup for the wedding, Mhm.
>> [laughter] >> that could be a bad sign.
>> Well, I bet I'm not saying anything. I'm just saying for anyone. But but at the same time, she makes millions and millions, and he's a rich guy, too. I mean, wouldn't that make sense to get a pre-nup? Do you think they should?
>> I Okay. All right, so if it's a pre-nup, it's in Kansas City. Thank you so much.
