In Luke 19:37-40, when Jesus entered Jerusalem, the disciples joyfully praised God for His miracles, and when the Pharisees asked Jesus to rebuke them, He declared that if they remained silent, the stones themselves would cry out. This passage teaches that genuine worship and praise are essential expressions of faith, and that God desires His people to celebrate His presence and goodness through wholehearted worship rather than half-hearted or silent devotion.

Luke 19:37-40 - Daily Devotional May 29 | Northpointe ChurchAñadido:
Luke chapter 19 verses 37 through 40.
When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully [music] to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen.
Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord.
Peace in heaven and glory in the highest.
Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, "Teacher, rebuke your disciples."
"I tell you," he replied, "if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out."
>> It says the whole crowd of disciples, they began to joyfully praise God in loud voices. They were thanking him for all of the miracles that they had [music] seen.
And that made me think, do we take time to to thank the Lord for everything that he's doing in our lives?
You know what's interesting is the Pharisees, the religious leaders of that time, they said, [music] "Teacher, you need to rebuke your disciples." And Jesus said, "Surely, man, if I tell them to stop, [music] even the stones are going to cry out right now."
One thing I noticed in this, the disciples, where was their attention?
Was their attention on their problems?
Was their attention on their worries?
Was their attention on their world at all? No. In fact, their attention was solely on the person of Jesus. They were wholeheartedly devoted to worshiping the Lord in that very moment. Take that, Satan. He literally he had nothing in that moment because the disciples were so focused on the Lord. Is that us?
Or do we let the cares of the world come and try and choke out what God is doing in our lives. You know, Psalm 22 says that God inhabits the praise of His people. What does your praise life look like? What does the power of worship look like in your life? Do you celebrate the presence of God? Do you take time to magnify the Lord as the scripture say?
Or when worship comes on, do you just kind [music] of half-heartedly sing it or say it or not do anything?
Maybe you're embarrassed. Maybe you feel like you might feel silly. I'd encourage you, spend some time alone today. Maybe it's in the car. It's one of my favorite places. Turn up the radio loud and sing your hearts out to the Lord. Put your attention to the Lord because you never know. This can really happen. If we don't praise the Lord, even all of creation around will cry out the praises of the Lord.
>> Now, let's reflect and pray.
Lord Jesus, open my eyes to your glory and fill my heart with joyful praise.
Let me never be silent about [music] the goodness, peace, and salvation found in you.
In the name of Jesus, amen.
