I Didn't Expect This Pattern in Cambodia's Weather

[00:00:08]Hello again. Oh, welcome to another video. My god, I am spoiling you. Um, I was going to go out again. Luckily, I've got enough nibbles in and wine and beer to feed me. But I was going to go out and then it started raining at the usual time about 12:26.

[00:00:30]Um, there's not much commentary with the video, so anyway, I thought I thought I'd just might as well film it while it was there because it's one of those thunderstorms that we're not used to in England. We just get them every day here. Um, I did learn one word today, which is liker of thunderstorms is a, are you ready? Srano file comes from the Greek. You can look it up on Google. I'll put it in the description and the pronunciation. I think it's Saranoile.

[00:01:06]Um when I was living in um the UK, well in Wales actually in near Hford West um we had a lightning strike about half a mile from where the house we were living in and actually fried the bloody modem.

[00:01:22]Now those of a certain age will remember when MM made silly noises like the clangers used to whistles and buzzes and what have you. Um and it was so slow it was unbelievable. It's like lightning now compared.

[00:01:38]Um then it fried the bloody morning cuz the morning used to connect via the telephone line. Not many of you know telephone lines either. Anyway, there it is. Um anyway, so all I've done basically is I heard the thunder coming and the the locals let me know because they brought all the washing in. How they know? I don't know. Um and and filmed it. It didn't get close to about 1 and a half seconds away, which is about a mile and a half, 1500 m, something like I don't know. Um well, probably a mile away, isn't it? Yeah.

[00:02:11]Anyway, I'll just let it run because I do believe me. I don't know. Now, I do believe that people can put these raining videos on and fall asleep to them. Amazing. I just drink red wine to fall asleep. Surely listening to a or watching a rain video is cheaper than that. Anyway, that's then then we're going into the video.

[00:03:30]Since the 1 of May had a thunderstorm every day. Oh, I'm a poet. didn't know it. Anyway, here's another one. We've been is about um about one and a half seconds away, which is about a mile and a half, I think, roughly I was just beginning to worry then because it's a bit like quantum physics thing when something's observed it doesn't actually happen. But it did actually happen then anyway. So it's about 2 and 1 half seconds probably quite a way away.

[00:05:28]thing about these stars to a westerner is they're unpredictable.

[00:05:32]But strangely enough, the locals seem to know exactly when they're going to arrive. They bring the washing in like 2 minutes before the storm arrives. How they do it, don't ask me.

And as I've said before, um, and any money I make off YouTube is going to go straight to Kids of Cambodia to help with their education. They need it. I don't I can't take it with me. Um, I had a commenter suggesting that I I go on coffee.com or whatever it is and buy me a coffee and all that. And then I just said, I don't really need the money.

[00:13:40]What What going to do with the money? I mean, I could I could be reckless and spend what I've got in Cambodia, but why bother? I'd rather just commit to the Cambodian education system. No, I don't need a motorbike. Can I just go in a tuk tuk? What the hell? Anyway, so if you want to you want other people to see the video, just give it a like. It doesn't doesn't cost me anything.
