Our FAST BIRTH that didn’t go to plan

[00:00:00]All my days, 9 months has felt like 9 years of anticipation.

[00:00:05]But with Danny finally back at home [music] with us, I was ready to give birth. Although Parker wasn't ready to [music] join us just yet, so we had plenty of prep time. Hey off, everyone.

[00:00:18][laughter] >> I've got a cameo of our Danny. There we are. Let's make some money. Eat.

[00:00:24]>> Oh, is this for you?

[00:00:25]>> Yes.

[00:00:25]>> Oh, sorry.

[00:00:26]>> I know you can come in. You can come in.

[00:00:33]>> Yeah, I'm a foodie. Feeder foodie.

[00:00:36]Danny's just made me my shake. Today could be the start of birth. I've done a number. You don't know. I've done a number of introductions to this. I think today is the day.

[00:00:48][laughter] Hey up everyone. So I'm predicting this may be the start of our giving birth vlog. It's Sunday. England won last night. I did imagine that it happened during or after an England match. So, who knows? Sunday is kind of everything happens in our family on a Sunday for some reason. So, who knows?

[00:01:06]I'm currently in Barnsley Town Center, which I love. Um, I could definitely move here. And Danny is picking up some boxing tickets from Callum Simpson and I'm doing last minute baby shopping now.

[00:01:18]We've had a very productive morning, but I have been in pain this weekend. I'm feeling bl and then today I feel really energized. So, I'm like, maybe today could be the day. Anyway, but I do think today [laughter] is the day.

[00:01:36]>> Look, you've got You're going to get blood splattered.

[00:01:40]>> It's not like eating a burger.

[00:01:42][laughter] But yes, we are off to the midwife this morning and we've decided we will go ahead with a stretch and sweep which is nothing to do with Suty and Sweep as that's now in my head cuz Danny's put that in my head as soon as he said what are they going to get Suty and Sweep out and then all I can think of is Harry Ramston's Sy and Sweep. It's just and if you don't know the link, Harry Ramston's nephew did the Sy and Sweet characters and he used to play piano at Harry Ramston's in Guesley, the original Harry Ramston. I just need to get that out.

[00:02:16]This is basically why I do a separate vlog sometimes as well, just so I can get all my random facts out before Danny's saying anything funny and interesting. [laughter] Right. Anyway, we're getting ready and we're off to the midwives. So, I'm a bit emotional now. We've just had a [ __ ] and sweet share.

[00:02:33]>> Suty and sweet show. [laughter] >> Oh, Dan, I made him have a peep share cuz he was like, "It's fine. I'll sit out and wait." I'm like, "No, you're coming in if I'm getting a sweep." But, um, she was really good, the midwife explaining. I didn't realize they basically touched the baby top of the baby's head and swish some membranes around to get the baby going.

[00:02:55]>> Swish some membranes.

[00:02:57]>> That was the technical term.

[00:03:00]>> [gasps] >> So, the odds are 50/50. Although, I'm going for 75% chance of getting into labor because I what I am nervous about is the induction and I don't want that. And tomorrow, we've got the scan and potential induction. I'd just rather it just get going. So, in true Danny style, we're now stopping off at his new magic shop, Merlin's to find his own salty and sweet. No. Um, you've got a meeting and I'm following. I'll be the He'll go, "Is your drink spilling out your bag again?

[00:03:33]You're spilling." Like, "Oh, no.

[00:03:36]>> No. Sorry, love. It's Barker. He's coming." Hey, it might be at Magic Shop.

[00:03:41]That'd be more interesting than the doctor's surgery.

[00:03:45]>> Athena bet last night 20 hours. So, that would give us till 400 p.m. today. And it's currently 10:40. So, countdown is on. So, we chilled out in Danny and Mark's magic shop. Well, they did some work and I felt like a right lady of leisure at the moment because I'm a bit like in between everything. I've got bits of work to do, but I'm kind of like I feel like Parker, baby Parker's going to be like the hotel inspector. I'm like, "Right, I need to get all these tasks done." Like, he's going to come into the house, newborn, be like, "Right, get those weeds out, otherwise I ain't coming in. Get the weeds out your front patch." It's just a bit weird cuz I don't feel contractions yet, but I do feel like I mean I have bled a bit from the sweep and we have provisionally booked another one in for Thursday and then tomorrow is going to be the scan and potentially they're going to look at inducing me. But I'm really trying to start it naturally. So I'm hoping if I speed clean might get things going.

[00:04:43]So right now I just feel like I need to go toilet but I don't know what's what.

[00:04:48]Three hours later, I'm still on bog, but I've just realized. Look, a we still got that up in the toilet. Definitely think today is the day. Off to triage. Just called them.

[00:05:03]>> Hey up everyone. Today could be the day.

[00:05:07]Day 101.

[00:05:10]>> Hey up everyone.

[00:05:11]>> Evacuate.

[00:05:13]Zed's gone. He's making coffee.

[00:05:16]actually feel quite refreshed after a little bounce around on the ball.

[00:05:20]Although in about 2 minutes it will come back. Danny's like getting them van on on sheet. [laughter] The charge nurse was like so I bet you're nervous after how fast the last work goes. So I'm thinking no it's my husband and he's nervous cuz he's he's not got the best catch anymore.

[00:05:39]But this is good. I've managed to wash cuz lots of weird gunk came out me last night at night.

[00:05:45][sighs] Let's do this, Parker. I'll be well good if we get them. They're like, "Nah, you're just a snowflake, love.

[00:05:54]Do you want a flake in that love?"

[00:05:56]Sorry. It sends me a bit weird. Do even more weird. I'm then emotional. Then I'll suddenly get emotions.

[00:06:04]Oh, come on, Parker. [sighs] Cuz if we time this right, we get there at like 700 a.m. We might be back for tea. [laughter] Oh, look. Daddy's rushing steps.

[00:06:22]>> You going fast?

[00:06:26]>> Nervous. Nervous now. You know what I'm nervous about? Having to walk in hospital like a pack.

[00:06:41]>> You're like, "No, I'm moving her out."

[00:06:43][laughter] like going to lead fest. I might as well just take a barbecue and be done. [laughter] >> Maybe we could just camp up by the side of the triage unit in your van.

[00:06:54]>> Yeah, just catch. [laughter] >> We think it's ready. Don't worry. We're just going to be careful.

[00:07:03]>> Yeah. [laughter] >> Oh dear. Right, let's do this.

[00:07:09]>> We went the wrong way. It's my fault.

[00:07:12]I'm sure somebody said go down side. So then we had to go down front. Put Danny's arms. I didn't realize how much I'd overloaded in the bags. Oh, I'm just doing a we sample and then slap Danny in. Bleeding.

[00:07:27]I'm all plugged up. Plugged in. Let me begin. Um they do like a little safety check and then they let your husband or partner in.

[00:07:38]>> It's not too bad at the moment.

[00:07:42]So, we're waiting for someone to examine me. Danny is hopefully booking a holiday. Pushing present.

[00:07:52]Although, technically you're not supposed to push. Gravity Newton. Isaac Newton.

[00:07:59]Right. DJ, if I do go into proper birth, what's my what's my playlist? He's like, quick quick.

[00:08:11]Why am I starting to dab like you?

[00:08:14]>> Cuz I'm cool.

[00:08:15]>> Daddy cool.

[00:08:16]>> Only you can be so uncool that you're cool again. I'm just on the uncool mid line.

[00:08:23]>> So I'm 3 cm now. We've got a scan and then either back here on triage or ward or labor ward. No, I don't ward.

[00:08:34]>> I think the scan and then they'll decide.

[00:08:36]>> Yeah, but I definitely feel I'm speeding up.

[00:08:42]Fingers crossed cuz I want to be home for tea.

[00:08:52]>> Labor lord. But they've sent Danny, not labor, labor room, but they sent Danny another way. I so hope he doesn't miss it again after all this. Bless him. I've sent off a pack horse with all my bags.

[00:09:06][sighs] Makes me feel emotional just seeing that.

[00:09:56]So, we've just been moved into a room and it looks like we can be discharged today cuz I'm like, I want to get home to see the kids when they've been there.

[00:10:07]But look, he's just had his ears test. I forgot about these like postb birth contractions.

[00:10:14]This room's super comfy. So, I might actually have a little nap as our little Park is napping. Athena will finish nursery in about an hour. So, he's weighing six. No, I wanted to say 67.

[00:10:28]What were you weighing? 76.

[00:10:31]That was going to hurt my brain.

[00:10:34]On the what date? 14th of July, 11:33.

[00:10:38]Hey, you'll be back home for the football or to watch England tomorrow as well.

[00:10:44]But we're buzzing. It was a little bit of stress the birth going from one place to another. in the hospital and stuff, but every all the staff were lovely.

[00:10:58]They were trying the best. It was just cuz [clears throat] he was measuring small and stuff, but he's actually fine.

[00:11:05]Tired of not really eating yet. But I just need to sleep first. Drank, thrown up, drank, thrown up, sleep so that I've got energy cuz I can't wait to see Athena meet Parker.

[00:11:21]2:24 and they're saying we can leave like after half five. Hey up everyone.

[00:11:26]So on my days this is our mini Mr. Yorkshire.

[00:11:32]Yeah, our little Yorkshire pudding. So now I've had a bit of time to rest. I can actually go through what just happened on my days. I've tried to do a discompulated story and from my iPhone little diaries and messages to family, but [clears throat] basically I got a sian sweep.

[00:11:54]>> Okay, it's Papa man himself [laughter] been down >> papa >> got boogie out to gym. I ain't been to gym. I've just been carrying your crap. But yeah, sorted.

[00:12:11][gasps] >> Good.

[00:12:13]>> So, it's straight across when we come out.

[00:12:15]>> Oh, nice.

[00:12:17]>> So, yeah, I'm ready to get get my little lad in here. Now, I've just seen mid wife. I've not forgot. So, I can't do the top to toe parking until it hits five. Once it's half five, she'll come do top to toe. Hopefully, >> ready.

[00:12:34]>> We've got a deal.

[00:12:37]They've been really good to us actually at the hostel. They've done their best cuz we got a sen sweep yesterday at the midvice stretch and sweep and then I thought it was kicking things off last night but we managed to still get some sleep other than on a ball. It's very hard to sleep on an exercise ball if you've ever tried that. So I was listening to Stormy all night and Danny was singing along but he doesn't remember this. [laughter] But we wake up at our normal time like half five six this morning and then the contractions did start. Danny being with the wise man that he is now like you're getting to hospital. We're not waiting around this time after Athena.

[00:13:20]>> All right. Yeah. To be fair a couple of coffees.

[00:13:25]>> Yeah.

[00:13:26]Took an bag. We got here. You got seen examined.

[00:13:31]Yeah. Then up foot scan at 20 9 you had a little bit of a wobble there because you you know your contractions were coming thick and faster like every two minutes then and you were satic waiting room and you didn't want to be cuz you looking like a snowflake but I don't think you can ever look like a snowflake >> and a woman does what you do and you produce a baby. No man, I don't care what they say. They don't care how hard they are to do that. Telling you that >> bless you.

[00:14:05]>> And then and then obviously went from there then to that was the triage.

[00:14:12]They then went right let's get you straight on to W. So we left there at 20 10 got to the ward for half 10 by half 11. You wers went 33 minute 33 minutes past 11. Park is here. Two contractions he took.

[00:14:29]one for a warm up and [laughter] and I've never seen one like it in my life cuz Sophie said it's coming out second one and she just went boom and it I would out business end right how there and his head just and the body fun straight out bang m his wife caught him straight up underneath to Sophie wrapped up I'm sitting there thinking my grapple >> [laughter] >> Well, what else is shining up there?

[00:15:02][laughter] >> But you know, the the the female body, how it's it amazes me. Honestly, it blows my mind to to say that. But well done to you, love.

[00:15:14]>> Thank you.

[00:15:15]>> You did a fantastic job. And the thing is the midwife when the waters went she said I'm just going to stick me head out the door and just shout somebody tell them let them know that we could be getting ready. So she went out next thing Sophie said I think it's going to happen second when I start to checking midwife come in I went I think it's happening and then the woman come in and said to the midwife what do you want and she says can I get such and such and she says can I ask what for? She went delivered and she went what? [laughter] >> Wow. They live it.

[00:15:47]>> Yeah. [clears throat] Midwives have just been in and out all day if it was good.

[00:15:50]I saw you this morning. I can't believe that. So I think you talk at town.

[00:15:55]>> I want to call you B. [laughter] >> I think it would be if if women could have that kind of birth from what other other people go through, I think they'd love that. obviously went through the pain. Yeah. You know, >> and I'm at one point, I'll be honest, I'm thinking to myself, >> if you would not me a bit selfish. I'm thinking I'd be crying my eyeballs out right now. I be like, "Oh, no. Shoot me up. No gas in there. No, no pain."

[00:16:29]>> Yeah. Cuz I wanted to make sure I could know that he was coming and feeling him.

[00:16:33]>> After some gas and air and she's like, "No." I'm thinking, "Hey, love your head off here legally.

[00:16:42]I'll take some aim. [laughter] >> We just sat waiting and he's he's been quite content. He's been feeding. He's had cuddles with me, cuddles with you.

[00:16:52]He's love Danny.

[00:16:53]>> Yeah.

[00:16:54]>> And we just can't wait to get him home now. Introduce him to the family.

[00:16:58]>> That's going to be the highlight. I think looks a bit double of Danny.

[00:17:04]And you can already tell he's a little mini Danny.

[00:17:09][laughter and gasps] He's just guzzling, sleeping, guzzling, sleeping, living his best life, aren't you, Parks?

[00:17:16]Yeah. Right. Well, we'll be back with you when we've settled at home.

[00:17:24]First night at home. Feel so blessed waking up with my baby girl and my baby boy next to me. Got one of those [clears throat] bedside cribs. Peace.
