A lift kit is more than just making your 4WD look tougher.

[00:00:00]A lot of people will say, "Oh, do I need a diff drop?" Well, that is dependent on the size of the lift that you put in the vehicle. Toyota Hilux, we're doing a full kit on there. We're doing the lift kit, the wheels, the tires, the bull bar, and all that type of stuff. It's great to have the bull bar on there.

[00:00:12]Obviously, it will get rid of this this nudge bar this factory nudge bar. We'll have more protection on there. But, the whole thing with this one is the lift kit. Now, the customer did want to go up a little bit higher than the two. So, we are doing a 3-in lift on this car. With a 3-in lift, there is other mods required to actually make it work depending on the vehicle, right? And in this particular instance, you've got the Toyota Hilux, mandatory upper control arm replacement to allow for better wheel alignment specifications.

[00:00:36]Especially when you go up too high, sometimes the factory arms don't allow for that. And then if we do the wheel alignment and we can't get good specs out of it, then you're going to start having tire wear and whatnot. So, especially at a lift this high, the upper control arms are mandatory just to allow for that wheel alignment specification. With the 3-in lift, it will change the angle of your drive shaft. So, a lot of people will say, "Oh, do I need a diff drop?" Well, that is dependent on the size of the lift that you put in the vehicle. In this instance, with the 3-in lift, the angle of the drive shafts are on a steep steep angle. Probably you can see it over here. I know the car's on full drip at the moment, but still it is going to be quite bad. So, we are installing a diff drop into the vehicle as well. As you can see, the diff has been relocated and dropped down about 25 mil just to re-correct the angle of the drive shafts and allow for safe travel off-road so it doesn't have CV issues.
