Most Brutal Deaths In Another... Japan's Final DestinationAdded:
In the world of another, a simple umbrella or a routine elevator ride isn't just an everyday chore. It's a one-way ticket to the morg. From outrageous [music] freak accidents to straight up massacres, these deaths aren't just gory, they're absolute nightmare fuel. But before we jump into the listing, here's a little context on why these deaths even happen in the first place. You see, back in 1972, a middle school kid from Yomiyama North died in a fire accident. However, his classmates and teacher were too devastated to accept his [music] death.
So, they pretended as if nothing went wrong. They acted like his desk wasn't empty and spoke to him like he was still alive. This collective denial was so powerful that it invited the dead back on graduation day, which cursed their classroom to invite an extra corpse every year thereafter. And this in turn triggers a string of gruesome, inevitable accidents that turns the school year into a graveyard. Now that we're done with the explanation, let's jump into the listing.
Hanai starts off as one of the kindest people in the series. A calm, caring nurse who's always there to help Kuici, which is exactly why her death hits so hard. While she's casually talking about the curse on her phone, everything suddenly goes wrong. The elevator cables snap and drops down several floors. And when it hits the bottom, it's brutal.
She's slammed face first into the ground with enough force to shatter her skull.
The impact is so violent that the floor buckles upward while the ceiling crashes down, crushing her completely. And what's worse, Kuici is still on the line the entire time. He doesn't see anything, but he hears everything go down, and there's absolutely nothing he can do about it.
Next is a moment where the curse proves that even hiding can't save you. Atsushi was a hikumori who stayed in his room all day to avoid the outside world. But ironically, his death came from the very place he tried to avoid as he got caught in a freak accident involving a runaway truck carrying [music] an excavator. The vehicle lost control on a hill and crashed directly into his bedroom, squishing the life out of him instantly.
And the worst part, bro wasn't even a student of class 33, but his sister Yumi was, and he had to pay the price for it.
[music] Proving that the curse has no geographical boundaries, Juna's death occurred during a [music] school trip to the beach outside of Yumiyama. Right when he was swimming in the ocean, a head injury from earlier acts up, leaving him completely disoriented. This leads us to a scene straight out of hell as a speeding motorboat runs him over and shreds the dude to a crimson [music] mist.
>> [music] >> step.
By the time the lodge massacre hits its peak, the whole place has basically turned into a burning nightmare. Fire everywhere, no clear escape, just pure chaos. Now, Mr. Makoto here had been warned of the fire, but he just had to go see it for himself. He tracks the smoke and decides to open the only door between him and the fire. The moment he opens it, he triggers a massive backdraft. All that oxygen rushes in and the fire just explodes. Makoto gets caught right in it and gets launched across the room, slamming his charred smoking corpse into the far wall like he's just a ragd doll.
>> [screaming] >> She got Takaco completely loses it during the lodge massacre. Convinced that May is the dead one, she snaps and goes on a full-on rampage, chasing her through a building that's already falling apart.
But her end is pure chaotic irony. In the middle of the chase, she trips and gets tangled up in a mess of loose electrical wires and fallen cables. And her attempt to free herself only makes it worse as the wires tighten around her neck and she's left dangling in midair.
[groaning] Go.
The head of the countermeasures committee goes out in a way that's just as sharp and unforgiving as she is.
During the chaos of the final struggle, Iumi is out for May's blood. But as the struggle intensifies, a random lightning strikes the lodge, [music] shattering the massive floor toseeiling window in an instant. And then the scene cuts to a flashback where II remembers meeting Kuichi years ago and falling in love with him for the first time. This hits hard because we get back to a scene where the girl is all bloodied and riddled with glass. With shards impaled all over her body, she is pinned to the wall like a decor, slowly bleeding to death while reminiscing about the past.
>> [groaning] [screaming] [laughter] [crying] >> Doji Kubadera's moment is easily one of the most disturbing scenes in the entire theories and the one that sticks with the class the most. What no one knew at the time was that he had already crossed a line you don't come back from. Before even stepping into that building, he had killed his own mother. And then right there in front of everyone, he snaps.
The guy quietly pulls out a kitchen knife and starts stabbing himself in the neck. Blood sprays across the desks in the front row. And all anyone can hear is that awful sound as he struggles to breathe. It's the kind of moment that doesn't just shock you, it haunts you forever.
Uh Reiko's death is easily the most story shattering moment in the series because this time it's personal. Quichi discovers that his own aunt, the person he's been living with, trusting, and calling family, is actually the extra.
She had died years ago and somehow returned to fill that empty seat in class 33, [music] which means there's only one way to stop the curse, to kill his own aunt. And the way it happens makes it even harder to watch. Kuichi had to strike her down with a pickaxe and kill the person he loves just so he can protect his classmates from the curse.
[music] The Umbrella death is easily the most viral moment in the entire series. Up until then, the curse still kind of feels like a rumor, something creepy, but not fully real. And then this happens. Yukari is at the top of a staircase already panicking because she just heard her mom died in a car accident. One wrong [music] step and she slips. From there, it all happens in slow motion. As she falls, her umbrella flips to its pointy side and she comes down throat first onto the sharp metal tip. Simply brutal.
[music] This [snorts] moment goes down during the Yizaki Lodge massacre near the end of the series. Everything's already falling apart and Yumiura is fully consumed by panic. She's convinced that killing May is the only way to stop the curse and she chases her and Quichi across a high balcony without thinking twice. But in that state of desperation, one small mistake is all it takes. The girl slips and just like that, she goes over the edge. She falls several stories down and the impact is brutal as her body hits the ground in a twisted, crumpled heap.
>> A's family actually did everything [music] right. Instead of waiting around, they made the smart decision to pack up and leave Yumyama to escape the [music] curse. For a moment, it really feels like they might make it. They're driving along a mountain road far from the city, finally out of reach. But then out of nowhere, a boulder suddenly breaks loose from the hillside and crashes straight through the windshield.
Her father loses control. Car goes over the cliff and they're dead just like that.
During the lodge massacre, everything is already spiraling out of control when a massive chandelier suddenly crashes down in the hallway. Luckily, Kenzo makes it out alive. In any other story, that would have been his big survival moment.
But in another, the curse isn't done yet. Because as he pushes deeper into the collapsing building, a structural pillar suddenly gives way and drops straight on top of him. What makes it brutal is that the guy survived the big dramatic dangers only to be taken out just like that.
[clears throat] >> [screaming] >> Kyoko and Aki weren't chasing suspects or trying to stop the curse. They were just two terrified girls trying to survive a building that had already turned into a burning nightmare. They stuck together, holding on to each other like that was the only thing keeping them grounded. And then Tommoiko finds them. Without any warning, this maniac walks up from behind and drives a kitchen knife straight into Kiyoko's spine. Then, as if nothing happened, the dude casually pulls the knife out and just walks on to find the next target.
Too damn cold. [crying] >> If Kiyoko's death was cold, then Akis is just straight up horrifying. She watches her best friend drop right in front of her, and she has no choice but to run.
And when she finds Kuici, there's hope for a brief moment as she legit thinks she'll be saved. But then the psycho killer pops up and just throws the knife, hitting her right at the base of the neck. The poor girl collapses, dying right there with her face frozen in pure pain. Totally undeserved.
Most of the series, Tommoiko barely stands out. He's the calm, reliable class rep who keeps his head down and avoids drama. But during the lodge massacre, that quiet composure completely unravels into something terrifying. He convinces himself that killing his classmates one by one is the logical way to find and eliminate the extra. And the way he does it is bone chilling. He just went stabbing his classmates to death and showed absolutely no regret or remorse, as if he was just killing NPCs in the game. In the end, I stops him with a blow to the head, causing a fatal hemorrhage. And honestly, it feels like he had already lost himself long before that moment.
