Introducing a massive predator like Rudy (140+ ft, 100+ tons) to an isolated ecosystem like Skull Island would make him the apex predator, but his high metabolism and the island's shrinking size could eventually lead to ecological collapse or his death, demonstrating that even the largest predators face challenges when introduced to ecosystems with evolved native species.

Can Rudy Survive Skull Island?Añadido:
[groaning] >> There you are, thief in the shadows.
I hear your breath.
I am fire.
I am death.
>> [music] >> death.
There have been a lot of requests for me to bring a certain dinosaur or even dinosaur peers onto Skull Island to see how well it fares. And to be honest, most are really interesting, especially when considering how it would change the dynamic of the island. Will they dominate or just get slammed >> [music] >> by the already over powered fauna of Skull Island? But one particular dinosaur a few have thrown my way is literally one of the most over powered ones in cinema history. Imagine a sauropod the size of a sauropod remembering you for years just because you knocked out a tooth. That's right, in today's video we're going to see just how much Rudy from Ice Age would affect the food chain of this sinking landmass.
Surpassing 140 ft long and weighing over 100 tons, he is similar in size or even bigger than some of the largest residents currently in this place. But as we've seen before in other videos, sometimes being big can work against you. And this place still has its fair share of carnivorous menaces that have evolved in ways few can imagine after being separated from main world for millions of years. So then, it's a bionic with the hunting mechanics of an Allosaurus and [music] the size of a sauropod up against the most brutal ecosystem in Hollywood that has dinosaurs in it. By the way, if you've seen yesterday's video, I'm still using my laptop to record and do some editing.
So, forgive me if you hear any fan noise. Don't worry, it will go back to normal Wednesday. But with that excuse out of the way, make sure to join the Discord in the description and hit the sub button. And with that over, let's get straight into the video. By the way, this is Peter Jackson's Skull Island and not the one from the MonsterVerse as requested by the person who made the suggestion. But get this video to 1,000 likes by Thursday and I will I'll Rudy up against Ramarack from the MonsterVerse to see if he actually is that guy. Anyway, back to this video.
Rudy may be a Baryonyx by technicality, but he's actually a type of carnosaur to sword with how he hunts. Not actually, by the way, I'm just saying that he moves like a ceratopsian of that group instead of most spinosaurs. Only thing that's similar between him and a normal Baryonyx is the head shape and somewhat claws. But, even then, his skull is a lot wider and his claws aren't meant for grabbing and slashing large sauropods instead of catching slippery fish. And his teeth are built for crushing and tearing instead of just ripping. And when you're over 100 tons, there's not much that's going to escape you regardless. So, after being dropped onto a very random beach in the middle of nowhere, Rudy will start combing the shoreline for a while before he decides to go inland. He might run into some smaller carnivores and some carrion that washed up, but it won't really be worth his time. Eventually, however, he will run into the largest native carnivore on this side of the isle, which is going to be the Tartarosaurus. And while it's a massive 5 to 6 tons, making it the most dominant carnivore on this side of the isle, it will still be dwarfed by Rudy.
And if this thing stumbles into Rudy, it's going to have to run. And even then, its fate will be decided on whether or not Rudy is really hungry because if he is, then he's going to easily catch it and turn the poor thing into a meal. Eventually, he will start heading inland though, realizing that there's no real food here, which now brings us into the swamp. A biome that his accurate counterpart should be fine in, but it's unknown if he would be in.
I mean, I'm sure Rudy could swim, but I doubt he would be able to catch fish and stuff like the accurate version. Well, he technically could or the fish here would catch him, but I'll get into that later. There are some prey items here like the Magalania, which is one of the bigger ones, but still, even at around 3 tons, the energy expended to catch them won't be worth the effort. And no carnivore here is over a ton, making him the apex once again. Well, there's one exception. Rudy might just get the classic Baryonyx experience, but not the way he wants. The swamp is home to a massive predatory fish called the Piranhadon, which have the body plan of a whale catfish and the mouth parts of an anglerfish. Nothing about it looks like a piranha from me, at least. Even its it's It's meant to prevent prey from escaping, but it doesn't have to wait for prey to come into the water. Not only can this fish haul itself onto the banks to bask and have parasites removed, but just like the whale catfish or that one high near in Walking with Monsters, it can propel itself onto the land like a crocodile, jumping out of the water and dragging prey into the murk. Although males rarely get larger than 20 ft, the females can get over 40 ft and reach up to 40 tons. And by a case of mistaken identification, if Rudy is waiting in a certain part of the water or even taking a drink, he might just get caught. But while it might hurt a bit, it will likely just serve as an inconvenience. The largest Piranha Don still can't do anything to this guy. So after mistaking Rudy for something else because they are accustomed to being the biggest things here, he will just eat it across the swamp or one shot it. And at 14 tons, it might just be a decent meal.
And during his time here, he might occasionally pick off a few that are basking. But once again, this place doesn't really have enough food to support him for a long term. And he just isn't adapted for aquatic life like its much smaller counterpart. But his luck will finally turn around after stumbling across the badlands of this messed up place. And speaking of messed up places, before Rudy enters the final major biome, I want to see what would happen if he somehow ended up in the chasm.
Like all of these, the chances of a character ending up here is virtually zero. Because even with the slightest bit of common sense, they'd know to avoid the edge or just walk around. And the majority of the animals I put here automatically die because the drop is too high. Well, not for Rudy.
Considering that he fell hundreds of meters, possibly a mile, and didn't have a scratch on him, he would be able to survive the fall, no doubt. Let's say he underestimates the stability of the ground beneath him and his massive weight caused a section to collapse.
He's going to get up a bit dazed with a slight migraine and then feel weird sensations all across his body as every single creature tries to eat him. Giant crabs, human-sized crickets, those are cursed-looking worms, and the Wetter Rexes all usually flock to anything that falls down here because it's usually dead from the fall. And even if it isn't, things like the Wetter Rexes straight up do not care. To stop them, you have to kill them. Now, Rudy already has outrageous durability in his massive size would likely allow him to swat more stuff before exhaustion fully kicks in.
We've seen him also travel miles in the span of minutes in some cases. Whether he lives or not, however, will depend on if it's just a steep dead end on the edge of the chasm or if there's at least some slope he can crawl out of because if there isn't, then he will eventually starve. And if there is, then Rudy could make his way out comfortably. So, he's the only character I've brought here so far that passed the insect pit without much injury. Again, he likely won't even come across it, but I just added this because, like the sharp tooth, he's immune to most fall damage. Going back on track, soon into his travels he will find himself in the most abundant ecosystem in this place, which are the plains of forest surrounding it, filled with the largest prey and the most dangerous predators. So, let's talk about prey. The largest are going to be the brontosaurus, which can get over 100 tons like Rudy, but they are prone to stampeding and can't defend themselves when backed into a corner. Now, while a stampede might be a bit dangerous even towards Rudy since that's thousands of tons rushing towards you, more often than not, he would be on the other side.
And against even the largest bull brontosaurus, Rudy would take it down.
As more of a statistic picture, I can see him ripping the top part of the neck off and the body just collapses to the ground. Or he simply grapples with it and eventually just kills it. Not even the most indestructible sauropod here would be safe. The diablosaurus are mid-size sauropods look more like a reptilian rhino and once they become adults, they have armor so tough that not even the largest cerapods here can really touch them. They'd have to be really desperate to try. Well, for Rudy, it would be as simple as stepping on it and watching it pop like a balloon. Or simply picking it up and rag-dolling it like a chew toy. As for the asperodorus, well, usually they have some middle ground between being larger than the diablosaurus, but less armored. And even then, they're still less than a quarter of Rudy's weight. So, they're just sitting ducks. And the multiple different species of hadrosaur and ceratopsians like the ferocitas likely will bolt up on seeing us or by the minute despite their aggressive behavior. So, there's an abundance of prey here, but the main item is going to be the Brontosaurus, and currently they're more than enough to sustain him.
But, nothing is ever this good for free because he has to contend with the native apexes for these resources.
Yeah, right. I'm not going to play some long game and tell you how deadly each of them are because you already know the answer. Because things like the Carnotaurus and the pack-hunting Pyroraptors, I'm going to say this and but yeah, they're just out there. And the V-Rexes, despite being extremely powerful and being forced to sometimes hunting goose because well, of course, contact with the island shrinking would not be able to do much to Rudy.
The current generation already has a debuff compared to the previous ones in their prime. Yes, they are still a big over 14 tons, but they aren't quite as strong now due to inbreeding. It isn't some massive downgrade, but it is somewhat noticeable. And let's be real, this verse is centered a bit more into realism in regards to how so many animals react after seeing a much larger threat. So, they will likely stay far away from him. As for Kong, well, as much as I'd like to give him the past, since he has the advantage of projectile weapons like chucking rocks or throwing a whole tree, those won't do anything to Rudy but annoy him. Kong may be brave, but he's not stupid. Aside from him deciding to fight all those V-Rexes for another species. You know what? Nah.
Homeboy was the last of his kind and wanted to connect with another thing that is close to his intelligence, so it makes sense why he protected her. But, without her, you best believe Kong is staying the hell away from Rudy. But, if he actually does annoy Rudy, then that Baryonyx might hold a grudge against him the same way they would Buck. So, now Kong has to keep his stupid wide eye open unless he's higher in the mountains or something where Rudy can't follow.
But, just like that, Rudy would have become the absolute apex on the entire island with not a single carnivore being able to match him. Unless like a hundred V-Rexes or something work together to swarm him. But, even though he's the ultimate authority, his size will pose some questions on if he would destroy the ecosystem. It honestly depends on his metabolism. Like, if it's really fast and he has to keep killing every two to three days or something, then over some years, he might start killing off the brontosaurus more than they could reproduce. Since they already don't give birth like normal sauropods that do the sea turtle method by simultaneously hatching together and letting thousands fend for themselves, so at least a few could live. These skull island versions give birth to one or two calves at a single time. This in turn could further affect the Rex population who are no longer the top dogs because a lot of their food has been reduced. Now, there are other animals to hunt, but the island is always sinking and the place gets smaller and smaller. So, Rudy would no doubt become the dominant predator here, but the matter of him dying of old age is another thing.
Me personally, given how fast he moves and how active he is, I'd say he has a very, very fast metabolism. And that combined with the island sinking would likely lead to him eventually perishing.
Whether it's total ecological collapse since these animals evolved alongside each other over millions of years, and a random introduction to such a large and powerful predator might just be too much. But, let me know what you guys think. Would there be more than enough prey to support Rudy until he naturally dies? Or the island sinks? Or does his immense size and metabolism serve as a disadvantage? Drop your thoughts down below. Maybe I'm underestimating just how big the place is. But, that's all for now, folks. Have a good Monday. I'll see you later.
