Weather forecasting involves analyzing radar data, tower cameras, and wind velocity patterns to predict storm behavior and dangerous weather conditions. Meteorologists track storm systems by observing shelf clouds and velocity indicators on radar, where darker red colors indicate wind speeds of 20-40 mph, with speeds reaching 38 mph at the leading edge of a storm system. When wind gusts approach 40 mph, they enter the damage scale, potentially causing property damage. Forecasters also monitor temperature trends, noting that seasonal temperatures typically return to the 60s and 70s after frontal boundaries pass through, with breezy conditions continuing through the week.

>> Richard Nun, I feel like everybody's over the rain, but I don't hear anybody complaining. No, >> I don't think anybody's complaining, but I think you're right that it's like, all right, we want some of our summer days back. Maybe some of the kids are thinking the same thing now that they've just started summer. And I was watching our rad our um tower cam network here just a little while ago at the beaches and you could see I was watching the radar on one screen and then I had the tower cam and you could see all of a sudden the people just and then the towels are coming up. People are shaking trying to get their little tents and everything together as that is what has started to reach and now sweep the beaches. Some of the heaviest of it here continues across our inland area. So let's put a fresh track in. And this one that is a pretty sharp and finite line.
And if that thing's coming at you, you've got the uh shelf cloud and then that is going to be followed by some gusty winds along with this. So next in line here, Palm Valley Landing out through Sawrass, Nagati coming at you there at 437 and Hilden at about 4:45.
And while we have a second here, let's just do a little exploration into what we can see here with the storm. And let's go into the velocity. Oh yeah, look at the colors here. So anytime where we're seeing some of these darker red colors, this is usually in the 20 to 40 mph range. There's 30 m an hour, 22.
So all of those gusty winds, let's go right out to the leading edge. There's 38 m hour. So at 40, we get into the damage scale. We could be seeing some damaging gusty winds coming out sharply ahead of that frontal boundary as it continues to sweep southward. And there there's nobody left. I should have had a time lapse here so we could have watched the folks just grabbing everything and running for cover as those showers started to come through. If they had the weather authority at, they would have got the heads up, hey, it's on the way.
80° right now feels like 84 degrees and those northeast wind at 18. When we were taking the tower cam uh earlier during the stream, we were at the airport, we were seeing sustained winds because of that front that or that boundary coming through that were in the 30 mph range.
So, following those windy details here as we'll continue southward. Windy again for Wednesday with wind gust as high as 35 mph beachside. 30s across the inland areas, but it's going to be a return to what will be some of those spring-like temperatures following the frontal boundary. And in the tropics, everything is quiet here for the next 5 to seven days, knocking down the digits. We were at 91°, now we're showing 77, cooling off Beachside. And that trend will continue here as that little cell continues to push southward. Not expecting a lot of widespread activity, but what we are going to see could be concentrated to the point of some locally heavy downpours. And like what we're seeing with our current couple of cells here, some of those gusty winds that will continue. Most of this is going to be done by midnight straggler showers could take us into that early Wednesday. I think my favorite part is this right here. Our seasonal temperatures and less than seasonal.
Yes, please. 70s giving way to the 60s and maintaining those seasonal temperatures as we get ready to start the day. Now, tomorrow, upper 60s, lower 70s. It will be cooler into southeast Georgia. We'll take some time to shed the cloud cover. And as that northeast wind picks up, we're only maxing out with 70s to those 80s across our inland areas. We'll go ahead and make it a nine here. Feeling pretty good for a Wednesday windy forecast. And the reason we have all the wind or the re because we have all the wind is the reason that I left that at a nine. But now that the showers are moving on out of here for downtown makes it nice. We'll still have those limited chances here for some showers and storms. If you're heading out, it is two for Tuesday tonight with the jumbo shrimp. Get those hot dogs.
70° overnight tonight. Daytime highs will approach seasonal values this weekend, but a little bit cooler here as we get ready to wrap up the work week.
As rain chances come to an end, we get ready for breezy conditions that will continue through the end of the week.
