In narrative storytelling, characters often exhibit behaviors that seem contradictory to their apparent goals, such as the Man in Yellow's apparent warnings to Tabitha about the caves, which may actually be reverse psychology to encourage her to go; additionally, audiences should be cautious about making definitive predictions about character fates, as unexpected plot developments are common in complex narratives, and characters may avoid certain interactions to prevent triggering memories or revealing their true identities.

FROM Season 4 Episode 9 'Man In Yellow Is SCARED & Jade Encounter' Theory Breakdown
Added:Hey everyone, how's it going? Welcome back to another From video here. So, I want to talk about something that I really do kind of find interesting. I was thinking about it, and the man in yellow really has not had a lot of scenes with Jade. And I guess by the man in yellow, I really mean Sophia. And I actually wonder if there's a reason for that. So, yeah, let's get into this here. So, before we go any further, make sure you're a subscriber if you do want to get more From content like this.
Episode 9 is airing in just 2 days as of right now. And yeah, I'm so excited for it. Tomorrow, I'm going to be doing a live stream, so just expect that for tomorrow. And then afterwards, my next video, unless there's some like big breaking news regarding like season 5 of From or something else. Like yeah, my next video will be the review of season 4 episode 9. So, I'm really excited for this episode. I do want to say before we get into this here that, you know, a lot of people are wondering where, you know, the story's going to be going next. And a lot of what the man in yellow was saying at the very end of episode 8, and whether or not he was lying. Was he trying to put doubt in Tabitha's mind? And I've really been back and forth on this. It's hard to say, but my thing is, if you just kind of look at it like, imagine if the man in yellow never went there at all. Like never went there to put doubt in Tabitha's mind at all. And just like stayed behind. Cuz obviously, Sophia was hearing about things, right? Like hearing that they were going to be going down into the cave here to get the bones and and all of that. So, if Sophia knew that, yeah, if I don't literally don't have to do anything. I'll just sit here, and they're going to go into the cave, and I literally don't have to do anything.
I think Sophia or the man in yellow is scared of that. I really do think that, you know, the man in yellow is scared because like otherwise, everything's going according to plan. They're going to go into the cave. And so, to me, I think the man in yellow, you know, like I think obviously going to Tabitha and like warning her about this or that to scare them is a little bit like like I I just don't see it being something that could benefit the man in yellow if they go into the caves. Like I don't know, maybe there's something that could, but I just based off of that alone, like literally the man in yellow didn't have to do anything. If the man in yellow wants them to go into the cave, then going there to scare Tabitha is just, you know, and I've seen people say it's reverse psychology, but I'm like, but that's just causing more stress than you need to. Like they were already going there. So you just have to kind of leave it alone and everything would have been fine, but you went there and you said that. Now Tabitha is going to be doing that and maybe she thinks, oh, the man in yellow is warning us, so maybe we should actually go. You know, and that's like reverse psychology cuz the man in yellow actually wants you to go down.
I'm like, this is just going back and forth way too much. And if you're just looking at it originally, the original plan is for them to go down there, and you Sophia knows they're going down there. Like you don't have to do anything different, right? So I also kind of found this interesting when it came to this whole situation, and that was that Sophia hasn't really been around Jade. And, you know, the man in yellow has mentioned, at least in episode 8, like, oh, you and Jade this time, like you're getting so close or this and that. Can't remember exactly what he said there, but I actually wonder if the man in yellow being around these characters like triggers these memories for them. And so that's why sometimes Sophia just kind of stays away from them. Because Sophia has just kind of stayed away from Tabitha and Jade overall, and I think that that is on purpose. Like Sophia has interacted with so many characters in the town, but Jade and Tabitha, she is just staying away from. Like yes, I know that they've had discussions and stuff and Sophia's kind of been around, but I think it's very different if Sophia went to Jade or Tabitha and like talked to them specifically, maybe a memory gets triggered and then it blows her cover type of thing, right? So, I I just wanted to kind of mention that cuz I also found that very, very interesting.
Like she's never really went up to Jade.
I think that the man in yellow is scared. I really do. I think he's scared about what that's going to do. Now, I have questions about what this is even going to really mean. Like, so you're going to dig up the bones and then you're going to bring the the bones up and then bury them somewhere else and then what else is that going to do? I find that kind of I don't know. I'm curious on that. Is that just going to break some like magic spell that has been like, you know, over this whole entire place? I'm just questioning that.
There's like a lot of things and I guess that's kind of the thing with this show is your mind goes in a bunch of different places, right? Like, I'm questioning do the talismans really ever work? Does the man in yellow choose what works? And like that is just something that, you know, the talismans don't really work overall, but he controls everything so he's just kind of making up this thing like it does work or are the talismans and and that's the whole thing too. Like, I don't know if the talismans have been used before, right?
Like that's the thing that I'm I'm questioning. Have the talismans been used before? And if they have been, then I guess that kind of points to the fact that I think everyone in the town here is going to die soon because the talismans will probably get taken away and I mean I that could be what's happening very soon, right? So, maybe taking the bones out causes that, but again, a lot of people have been talking about that for a while. I don't see it being that predictable, but again, with this show, I think we all have a lot of theories. One of them is going to end up being right, right? So, I don't think the man in yellow is necessarily lying about that whole situation there. I do think that like he does seem scared and I think that he's going to retaliate in some way because they're doing that.
That's kind of how I'm viewing this whole situation. Honestly, I feel like they're pushing and pushing and pushing and he gets scared. And so because they're pushing so much, he starts to do things to try and scare them. And so that's why, you know, something will be written like knowledge comes at a cost that I feel like I really feel like that was Clara who did that. I I I think Clara has been working with um Sophia or the Man in Yellow, I guess, the whole time just because it seemed like obviously based off the trailer there.
And I'm just so curious on a lot of other things and it just feels like that's why. It seems like this place is is doing it, but I feel like it's mostly been the Man in Yellow. And so I think that, yeah, going into the caves, there is something out there that is fighting back. Whether it's the Children of the Forest or whatever, there's something that's fighting back for sure that he's not, you know, the biggest fan of and it's causing a lot of issues. And I just feel like, yeah, obviously going down there, digging up those bones, bringing them up, he's going to cause something else, I think, up like in the town. And I think that will be the response. And Boyd is going to have to look at that and be like, "Because we did this, this happened, right?" That's the only way I see this really playing out. I have a question for you guys and I feel like I kind of know the answer to this anyways or I know what a lot of you guys are going to say about this, but I'm just kind of curious because does the Man in Yellow die this season? I personally don't think so. And the reason why I'm bringing this up is because the Man in Yellow was introduced, I guess, in the season 3 finale, but he really wasn't a threat before this, like in the first three seasons or most of season 3. It was very much like, "What is this place?
What's going on?" and all that. And then now we're starting to get into some different reveals here and things are starting to be a little bit more grounded, right? I think because you can actually connect things with his story to the very beginning, I don't think he's going to die this season. I think he'll be a season 5 death for sure cuz I do think they're going to end up killing the character and then they'll end up like I think they're going to escape this place. There's no way this show is ending with everything repeating again.
I just I don't know. Unless there's a way to do it where it's like yeah, like everyone is out, but then someone has to stay behind and live there forever kind of thing where it's more of a tragic story. But I could see that being a thing for sure. But I just wanted to kind of ask that because I've been seeing a lot of comments on that. Like people think that the Man in Yellow is going to die in the finale and I just I don't know. I feel like we never really got into the character yet. Like we've been seeing Sophia mostly. I think Sophia will be gone by the finale for sure cuz I don't think the Man in Yellow is going to have to turn into anyone like anymore, right? So Something I've also really been wondering about is if they're going to rip the tree out in episode 9 because people are really wondering and you know, based off of what I was saying before, I think that they're going to try to To me, it just makes sense that they're going to do it. And a lot of theories are that the trees, obviously, are moving and I really do believe that still. I think the trees are moving, that they're going to rip that tree out and there's going to be nothing there. Like I just really feel like that's what's going to happen.
Maybe there's a cycle. And sometimes when you go in the tree, it'll end up, you know, bringing you to a really amazing place. You can escape or whatever. Maybe it has to be a certain time or whatever. But if it's not like directly, I guess, where the Children of the Forest were buried or whatever, like in that chamber, then maybe that's why you end up just stuck somewhere, right? Like maybe it has to be a specific time or or season, like time of the year kind of thing, right? I just think that they're going to try to and there's going to be bad things with it. Like I I I think digging up the bones and getting those bones out is the right thing to do. But I think the plan of taking that tree down is not the right plan. If there's a way to go in there and get those bones and then leave with all those creatures there, that's the best thing to do, I do think.
And it's a really crazy plan. Like what are you going to go down there with 40 or 50 people? I mean, I don't think they have 50 people, but go down there with 30, 35 people, expect like 20 of them to die, but and even if it's 25, just get like a couple people to like run out with the bones to get them out, you know?
Like I don't even know how many creatures there are, first of all, so there's that, but I just I think that the bones leaving is a bad thing for the man in yellow, but I think the tree being ripped out is a bad thing as well for Jade and everyone else. There's a reason why the boy in white and everyone is saying don't rip that tree out, and Victor knows to not rip that tree out.
And that that's the only thing about it, and maybe Boyd's plan to do that, because you need two exits, is just what is the issue here, cuz maybe you just can't do that. Maybe this is one of those missions that is just going to be impossible. And also remember Miranda has remembered the man in yellow. I'm pretty sure that actually there's been some scenes where there's been drawings and stuff, right? And then also she knows of the bottle tree and its importance and stuff, so how much did she know? And I feel like obviously a lot. She has met the man in yellow, because Tabitha is supposed to remember him, right? So I also just think with all of this, regardless of where this is going to go here in the final episode, there is going to be something that we're not expecting. And I just that that's the thing, because I never expected the man in yellow to show up. That whole thing came out of nowhere. It was just such a random story, Jim's death and like everything. Even going to the first episode of this season for Jim to show up and tell Ethan to find the lake of tears and all that. I was just like like it goes in these different directions that you can come up with all these theories and you think you're kind of onto something, and sometimes like there's theories that kind of work out overall or they're leading to things, right? But I think with some stuff like this, it is just there's going to be something that I don't think any of us are predicting.
Anyways, yeah, I'm just going to leave it here though. I wanted to get into this, cuz I just find this thing so fascinating. A lot of people are focused on this one thing with the man in yellow, and do you trust him at all? And I don't know. I really don't know if you can trust him because it's like I just think that Jade and the man in and yellow whenever they do meet, there's going to be something there.
That's like a big deal. That's kind of how I'm viewing it because the characters have not really had a scene together. I think when those two characters meet I mean I just think it's going to be such a powerful scene because there's got to be a reason why the man in yellow is specifically picking up Tabitha all the time like to meet or members of that family. Why not Jade?
There's some reason there I feel like.
There's something there and I think to see Jade and the man in yellow in like in a scene together is going to be really crazy because Jade, he's so smart and everything. He's going to be wondering like like this and that about those situation, right? Like what's going on here? And I'm just that's the part I'm looking forward to and I just cannot wait to watch episode 9. So anyways, I'll leave it here. Post all your thoughts down below. Hope you all enjoyed the video and I'll see you in the next one.
