DFW Weather | Spotty rain expected on Memorial Day in 14 day forecastAdded:
Uh we've been saying this won't be a wash out of a weekend. Now, uh if you were out partying at 3:30 this morning, you might think, well, hey, bit of a wash out at that hour.
>> Uh but all of today has been quiet minus that very early morning. And I think tomorrow, >> Monday for Memorial Day, just some spotty rain. And I'm going to talk about that. The temperature at Cedar Hill in the low 80s. Oh, that's the other thing, Teresa. Temperatures and everybody else.
Hello.
>> Yeah, >> not bad.
>> No, not bad at all.
>> It could get pretty toasty around here this time of the year. 86 is our normal high. 82 was the high today. The low 65 this morning. Outside now it's 84. It's a bit muggy. D points in the low 60s.
We'll call that muggy. Uh feels like 85 degrees. Pollen count, grass, oak, and bodark are all there. And fungus. It always hangs around. Metroplex quiet.
North Texas view. Not much going on tonight. We have these high thin clouds that have kind of rolled through the area. We might see a little spotty rain down toward Hillsboro and Corsacana this evening. No severe weather or anything like that. We see a little bit of rain.
I see you there. Parts of uh northeast Texas from Paris to Clarksville, but that's it. And that continues to be the theme for the rest of this holiday weekend. We'll have that little chance for some rain this evening south of the Metroplex. You're not going to wake up to big booming thunderstorms uh like many of you did early this morning or very late last night, however you want to look at it. Uh but Sunday, there's 8 o'clock in the morning. We're mostly cloudy. Oh, there it is. right there in the afternoon. There's 3 p.m. with some spotty rain. And the main rain chance on Sunday will be south of I20 and east of the Metroplex. That's where we could see some spotty showers and yeah, even a thunderstorm or two. That's certainly not out of the question, but there's your coverage 10% for those areas.
Higher coverage down towards central Texas. You know, if you're heading out on a lake or you're camping or anything like that where you're outdoors and vulnerable to thunderstorms, listen, even non- severe thunderstorms can be problematic if you're out on a lake or out in the wilderness. So, just have a way to stay weather aware, but it's not widespread coverage of rain. That's Sunday. Sunday evening, the rain chances diminish. We'll start Monday off the same way we've been starting these days, which uh or yesterday. We'll just start with a little bit of cloud cover. Some lingering showers are possible going into the lunch hour. There's 12 p.m.
Now, notice where the higher coverage of rain is, and it's not much, but as we go to Monday afternoon at 3 p.m., scattered rain, a couple thunderstorms, mainly east of the Dallas Fort Worth area. This again on Monday for Memorial Day, 20% coverage into the metroplex. Lower coverage to the west of the Dallas Fort Worth area. The highest coverage of rain, East Texas. That's where there will be a 30% coverage of showers and storms. We'll take a little dip again on that rain chance Tuesday down to 10%.
And then we're up, okay, late Tuesday night into Wednesday. That'll be the highest chance or highest coverage of showers and thunderstorms uh this entire upcoming week. And then back down to Thursday, we'll go to 20%. Tonight, 68 degrees, mostly cloudy, pleasant temperatures tonight. Tomorrow, it's 84.
It's warm, it's muggy. We'll have light winds with partly sunny skies. The 14-day forecast, there it is. Tuesday night to Wednesday, a higher chance for a shower or thunderstorm. Uh Thursday, another chance of rain. So, what I do see is it's still unsettled, but I'm starting to see signs in the data that we're going to at least turn it turn the volume down a little bit. So, instead of chances of rain every single day where it's spotty shower and storm chances, it's every other day here or there. And you can see that that is so typical for Texas, by the way, where we start getting to June, the faucet starts tightening.
>> Yeah. And soon enough, soon enough, you'll be begging for a chance of rain.
But we're not there yet. We're still unsettled.
