Superyacht refits can involve dramatic structural transformations, such as lengthening vessels by 10 meters and increasing gross tonnage by 400 tons over a three-year period, as demonstrated by the conversion of the 95-meter Indian Express into a 105-meter motor yacht H3.

The Incredible Transformation of This Superyacht Took THREE YEARS | SY NewsAdded:
We've got a lot of of yachts to cover today in actual fact. First one here, this is motor yacht H3, formerly Indian Express. And this went through a remarkable refit, a 3-year refit, more than a refit, it's more like a rebuild.
Um it was a 95-m or 310-ft yacht uh built in 2000, I think it was. And it was 3,100 gross tons. It went in for a refit. I think I believe it was in in Feadship. And it went in for this refit, came out at 3 and 1/2 thousand gross tons, so it gained 400 gross tons.
And it and it was lengthened to 105 m, so it was lengthened 100 Sorry, 10 m. Uh so yeah, quite incredible that the dramatic change of how the how this vessel looks from how it looked until how it looks now. Now, the footage you've seen on screen, this is from our I in the sky in Rotterdam. Uh he's got he's sent in a lot of footage over the years, and you can see the vessel has been has been moved. Uh I think it's heading from the shipyard and out to uh out to the sea. So yeah, really interesting there. Uh next on the list is motor yacht Drizzle, possibly the worst name for a yacht ever. 91-m 301-ft Feadship built in 2024. Just under 3,000 gross tons. And it's reportedly linked to Amancio Ortega. Uh worth about 300 million. And Feadship with a 5 and 1/2 thousand nautical mile range. Next on the list, we've got motor yacht Faith.
This is the new Faith, the one that's owned by Lawrence Stroll, which is an 80-m, if you like, 262-ft, also a Feadship. Built in 2025. Approximately 2 and 1/2 thousand gross tons.
Um and it's worth about 250 to 300 million. So there's half a billion in just the first two yachts. What we got next? Next, we got motor yacht Seven Seas. This is Steven Spielberg's yacht.
109-m or 357-ft built by Oceanco. All So the all the yachts we've mentioned so far are from Dutch shipbuilders. Uh 2023 delivery. Uh 4 and 1/2 thousand gross tons. And it's worth, you know, 250 to 300 million again.
Uh next on the list here, now we're moving to Tarracona. This is in Spain.
This is Motoryacht Crescent, or also known as Darth Vader's helmet.
>> [laughter] >> Only Only on this channel it's known by that. Um you can see why though, right?
Uh this is a 135-m or 450-ft yacht. This is reportedly linked to Igor Sechin, Putin's right-hand right-hand man. It's been detained in Tarracona since 2022. We've done videos on it in the past, actually. I went down there and filmed it, and then had the the the captain and crew on there chasing after me.
Not Not literally, but they were uh chasing after me trying to get me to stop filming. They thought they'd They thought they'd cut me off from filming, but I'd already filmed the previous day. But they sent the security from the marina after me when I was talking to somebody on another yacht.
Um This is still in in These are all in the same marina. Now, Motoryacht Katara, this is a 125-m yacht, 408 ft, built by Lürssen also in 2010.
8,000 gross tons. Oh, forgot to mention 9,200 gross tons of Crescent. So, these two massive yachts there, 400 million value, and and Crescent is approximately 600 million. So, there's What are we doing now? We've done like 2 and 1/2 billion dollars worth of yachts, right?
Next on the list here, we've got Motoryacht Quattroelle, which is a 88-m or 290-ft yacht, also built by Lürssen.
So, we had the first half was the the Dutch builders, and the second half is the German.
2013 this one, 3,000 gross tons.
Um reportedly owned by Canadian billionaire's family, 200 million dollars in value.
So, yeah. And then we've got uh Talitha.
This is the nice one. Motoryacht Talitha, 80-m yacht, 262 ft. This was built in 1930.
I think it was built in in Germany by Krupp Germaniawerft, I think it's pronounced, probably not.
1,100 gross tons, owned by Mark Getty, valued about $70 million.
And then we've got motor yacht Vision.
That's a Benetti built 68 meter. This is not in Tarragona, as you can see it's at sea. I think this is in Florida.
If I remember correctly. Coming into Fort Pierce Inlet on the 5th of May.
That's where the sailing yacht has just been raised, that Legacy Yacht Fort Pierce.
And then and last on the list and most interestingly we've got motor yacht Q.
This is formerly Ragnar. If you remember at the beginning of the war 2022, a yacht was was stuck in Norway and no one wanted to give them any fuel and they couldn't leave, right? This is the same yacht. It was called Ragnar back then, it was owned by a Russian. And hence they couldn't get any fuel even though he wasn't sanctioned and obviously they denied he owned it as well.
So anyway, the yacht was later sold, renamed Q and now it's been painted in this in this color which is awful. I mean that's my opinion. I don't normally give opinions but that is an awful color.
It just doesn't look right. It looks like an ingrown toenail. I mean it's not it's not a great shape for a vessel and it's a converted offshore support vessel I believe. It's got very slow top speed but I I always liked it because it had that, you know, utilitarian look, like an F like an F-150 or something. But painting it white, I don't think that was a good move. And then to leave the super structure in the original green color, just looks awful. Let me know what you think, you might think differently.
Obviously to each his own and everything but to me I just think that looks really really awful. But it's an interesting vessel you know, it's a very practical vessel. It doesn't have a fairing on it like most yachts that they put like the filler on it and then they sand it and paint it and it has that shiny plastic look. This doesn't have that, it's just a, you know, steel hull and and painted. So yeah, but I I just I I it it suited the the green color or whatever color it was before because it wasn't so, you know, it just doesn't look right in that color.
