Cardinal Cast- MayAdded:
Hello Cardinals. My name is Arandi Hassi >> and I'm Daniela Swastigi. Welcome to Cardinal Cast, your source for latest Earosi High School news and updates.
>> Let's get started with this month's important announcements. Attention Cardinals. A quick reminder that there are only three Saturday schools left of the school year. Saturday school is a great opportunity to make up your attendance, clear absences, and stay on track. Be sure to bring homework or something to work on. And to receive credit, you must complete four hours, so make sure you aren't late. Hey Cardinals, here's a great opportunity for juniors and seniors. Are you interested in becoming a Cyclon counselor? This is your chance to earn all 60 of your community service hours while building leadership skills and making a real impact. The program runs from May 11th through the 15th.
Attention Cardinals. If you are an incoming junior or senior, Link Crew applications are now open. This is a great opportunity to step into a leadership role on campus. Link Crew leaders help mentor and welcome incoming freshmen, lead fun activities, and support students as they transition into high school. If you're interested in becoming a link crew member, please see Miss Rubikawaba or Mr. Lens for more information.
We are celebrating our seniors as they take on the next big step in their future. Let's check out our senior signing date where some of our seniors will be attending next year.
Hope when the moment comes you'll say I did it all.
I did it all.
So many places, the things that I did.
There were very broken home. I swear I live.
Hope that you spend your days, but they all add up.
And when that sun goes down, hope you raise your cup.
Oh, I wish that I could witness all your joy and all your pain.
But until the moment comes, I'll say I did it all.
I hope every second this world can give so many places. The things that I did very broken.
I swear I live.
Every broken bone I swear I live. Every broken bone I swear I am.
>> Thank you for capturing all the excitement and pride of our senior college signing day.
>> Today we are highlighting one of our incredible teachers here on campus, Mr. Mr. Lent, who teaches ethnic studies and world history. Mr. Lent's classes go beyond textbooks, giving students the opportunity to explore different cultures, perspectives, and historical events that shape our world today. Let's check out and see what our students are learning in his classroom.
>> What topic do you enjoy teaching the most?
>> Um, that's a tough one. I really enjoy teaching both of my different subjects, but I would say ethnic studies cuz it's interesting cuz I'm the one who teaches it, so I kind of get to do things my way. Um, and the things that I think I want to focus on, make sure that's important for the kids to know is what I get to teach them. And it's pretty unique. It's a new course for California. Um, it's just pretty interesting things. I get to teach kids all about different cultures and I get to learn new things about their culture as well. So, it's a really fun class and also cuz I teach all freshman. So, I swap at the semester. So, it's really unique experience to teach like every single freshman on campus. Pretty cool.
>> Hey, Mr. Lance, what made you want to teach ethnic studies and world history?
>> Well, I have a big love for history. Uh, it was my major in college, so I took a lot of classes about it. I really love learning about history. I love like watching documentaries in my free time.
And so, I just wanted to share that love with my students, hopefully get them engaged and enjoy history like I do. And for world history, it's fun to teach about things, different things that happen around the world like World War I, World War II, the different perspectives besides just America. And then ethnic studies is really interesting cuz it's a very important topic to teach um students all about different ethnicities and cultures that are here in our state and our country.
Why is it important for sis to learn about different cultures, perspectives, and experiences in history?
>> Um, it's been really important because we're all human. We all are on one planet together. And it's important for us to learn about the different experiences and perspectives because we're more similar than we are different. Even though a lot of like political agendas try and separate us, but we're all human. We're all together.
We all have similar, especially immigrant experiences here in the United States. Just about everyone's an immigrant. And so learning those experiences of how like similar we actually are can help us come together and understand, you know, we're all humans. Life's difficult. Um, it's been difficult for a lot of people throughout history and we know it's something for us all to accept and be together as one.
>> What do you enjoy about being in Lens class?
>> What I like about Lens class is it is really like calm and peaceful. Like if you're having a really hard day, like talking to Lens would be like the best part of your day. And even the work in there is really simple and easy.
And all the work that you learn in there is like interesting. Like you learn things that you never knew. History type. Thank you, Mr. Lens, for the impact you leave on our students.
>> For this month's segment, we are highlighting one of our amazing assistant principles, Mr. Rodriguez.
With nearly six years serving here at Arosi High School in 17 in our school district before stepping into administration, he began his journey in education back in 2009, teaching third grade at Golden Valley Elementary where his passion for helping students grow first began. Let's hear more about his journey, experiences, and what inspired him as an educator. Hello, Colonel.
Today we are here with our assistant principal, Mr. Rodriguez. Today we will be asking him a couple questions. Yeah.
So, what do you enjoy most about being in the system?
>> Um, I think the thing I enjoy most is coming to work every day and every day is kind of different. Um, we have plans when we come, but I think things come up and it just makes it a very actionpacked fun day.
>> How do you help motivate and inspire students to be so successful?
Um, I think my take on it is I try to remember what it was like to be young. And so when I work with students, >> it's kind of trying to connect with them where they're at. All students are different, so you kind of got to figure out, you know, what motivates different students and how you can support them with that. Yeah.
>> Thank you, Mr. Rodriguez, for your hard work and dedication to our staff and students. Prom 2026 was an unforgettable night and Cardinal cast was there to capture every moment. From incredible outfits to an exciting atmosphere, this year's prom brought students together for a night filled with fun, music, and lasting memories. Students showed up, took over the dance floor, and celebrated one of the biggest events of the year. Let's take a look at what went down at prom.
Heat. Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
I can't go any further than this.
I want you so badly. It's my biggest wish.
>> I spend my time just thinking thinking thinking about you every single day.
Guess I'm really missing missing you and all those things we used to used to used to used to do. Hey girl, what's up? We used to used to be just me and you.
>> I spend my time just thinking thinking thinking about you every single day.
Guess I'm really missing missing you and all those things we used to used to do.
Hey girl.
Can you see me halfway right at the border where I'm going away for you? I'll be looking out my heart to the limit. This is where I want you.
>> Girl, I travel around the world and even sell the seven seas across a universe and go to other galaxies. Just tell me where to go. Just tell me where you want to be. I never get myself.
>> Did you shuffle them?
>> Yeah.
>> Nope. You can see us here.
>> Oh, no. I don't.
>> Yulo Areola and Gioana Garcia.
>> Oh, Garcia.
Yay.
Thank you.
Heat.
Heat.
What a night to remember. You all truly made memories at prom this year.
>> Thank you, Cardinals, for tuning in into this month's Cardinal Cast. Have a great day, Cardinals. And remember, together we thrive.
