I TRAPPED THE WRONG ANIMAL…Added:
I'm literally standing in the spot right here where Cali was attacked.
>> Maybe this coyote is using this pathway to get in and out through the forest. A little bit of our bait right here on the outside. So, we just want to break a little bit of it up right here. It's right here. You can actually see the front of the trap, and you can see it's closed, guys. You're not going to believe it. We caught [music] something.
No.
It is terrified.
It is so scared.
What is up, guys? Welcome back to the channel. Hope you all are having a beautiful, amazing day so far. So, guys, in today's video, we are setting a trap to hopefully catch a coyote that attacked and almost killed my little dachshund. Now, this coyote knows what he's doing. He is very smart, and I'm not sure we're going to actually be able to catch him. Now, we're also going to be exploring the giant avocado grove where the attack took place, where this coyote calls home, in hopes to actually find his den or maybe even clues that lead us to him. But, before we get into today's crazy, exciting video, we're actually going to be meeting a new baby monkey at our zoo. Guys, he is the cutest little thing ever. So, without further ado, let's hop straight into today's video. And on today's to-do list, we're going to be deworming our new baby monkey. Yes, you guys heard me correctly. We have a new baby monkey at the zoo. This baby monkey is a little 3-year-old marmoset that was actually just given to us. And because we have so many animals at the zoo, we actually do at-home dewormer. I mean, it's literally the easiest thing ever. All you have to do is get your animal's weight and then figure out the dosage depending on what dewormer you're going to be giving him.
And today, we're giving our new baby marmoset pyrantel. So, because our marmoset is teeny tiny, he is getting the tiniest amount ever. So, let's go ahead, open our teeny tiny syringe, and he is literally going to be getting Look at this, guys. Let the camera focus.
Okay, let's see if we can get the camera to focus. Maybe if I get my head out We're only filling it up to right here.
So, we're going to give our dewormer a good shake, make sure it's completely mixed around. And just like that, I think it's good. So, we're going to go ahead, open it up. We actually have a new bottle. So, we have to pop open the the little tab right here. Okay, we've got our dewormer open. You can see it's a yellow coloring. Let's do a sniff test because sometimes, you know, you can actually get this dewormer with a certain taste, so it's like more appealing to your animals. So, Oh, this is actually smells so good.
This smells like vanilla extract. If you guys have ever smelled vanilla extract, it smells so amazing. I literally could smell this all day. Okay, I don't think that's good for me. So, let's go ahead.
Let's syringe up. Just like that, guys.
Look at this. We have the tiniest amount of dewormer for the tiniest little baby monkey. Hi!
This is only the second time that I've actually seen this little baby. He is so cute. He is so tiny. Hi! Look what I have for you. So, right here we have our new little baby baby marmoset. Yes, that's right. And he is actually staring at the syringe right now, what I have in my hand. He's also very curious. He's running around his temporary enclosure.
You can see we've hung a hammock. We have a beautiful nest box and toys. And look at him. He is so cute. Look at that face. I mean, these have to be the coolest little baby monkeys ever. I mean, he looks like a little old man.
But, he seems pretty friendly. Yeah, that's was the sweetest little the little chirps here. But, I think it's time to give him his dewormer. I think maybe we'll come over to this platform right here. We're going to walk very slowly.
Come here, buddy. I'mma put it right here. And oh, okay. Oh my goodness, look at that. I was actually afraid that he wasn't going to like this, but he is literally gripping onto our syringe and licking it. Look at him. Is that good, buddy?
I think you have a little more. Oh oh and I he took all of it. Look at that.
You were You did such a good job. You were great. And did you just see that, guys?
He just marked his territory. He was like doing this weird movement, but all of that wetness right there was him actually marking his scent. What is that?
You're hearing all the other lemurs, maybe even your girlfriend Simone.
He's hearing all the new sites, sounds, and smells, and he's just taking it all in. Now, not [clears throat] only is this his temporary enclosure, but this is also his quarantine enclosure because he's a new animal. We don't know if he has any parasites. So, obviously, that's why we're deworming him, but we want him away from our other animals so we can properly treat him. And look at this, guys. He just grabbed a blueberry and he is munching and crunching on it. Look at that. Is that some good stuff? That's so yummy. We're going to let him do his thing. Since he doesn't know us that well, we don't want to stay hovering around here, but what I want you guys to do right now is comment down below a name for our new little baby marmoset.
We already have Simone, our female, so maybe we'll keep with the S name and maybe Steve, Steven. I don't know. What do you guys think? And just like that, guys, we just jumped and cleared the barbed wire fence. We're back here to try and trap this coyote. Now, guys, if you don't know what I'm talking about, in my previous video, Cali, my little dachshund, was attacked by a coyote in this giant avocado grove. Now, of course, we got permission to be back here to put this trap and hopefully catch this coyote, but I'm not sure we're going to catch a coyote. I mean, there's so much native wildlife down here in South Florida, we could catch a bobcat, we could catch a raccoon, a fox, even a possum. So, we might not even be catching the creator that attacked my dog. But if you look around me right now, guys, I'm literally in like a deep deep forest. This is This is honestly insane.
I mean, I'm literally getting surrounded by mosquitoes right now, and Jacob's going to be coming with a trap and bait very very soon, but what I wanted to do first is I wanted to explore to see if maybe we can find the coyote's den. Now, when we informed my neighbor that this coyote did attack my dog, we had to jump their fence and save my dog. He couldn't believe it because number one, he's never seen this coyote. I mean, look how much land he has. He has acres and acres like I I don't even know how many 10, 20, 30, 40 acres back here of pure wilderness. This is This is literally insane. I mean, this is any and every animal's dream to live back here. But, it started making sense to him because when we told him my dog was attacked, he told us he had previously put chickens on his property and they all disappeared. So, I'm assuming this coyote ate all of his chickens. Guys, I'm literally standing in the spot right here where Cali was attacked. I mean, right behind this abandoned building. We couldn't see it, and Fernando rushed to save her, but it was literally right here. All of it happened in literally a split second, and I'm assuming that the coyote took off in that direction where all of that like overgrown shrubs are.
And to the right of it right here, you can see my backyard, my animals. This coyote has definitely been coming and stalking my animals. I mean, this is perfect viewing to pick out the coyote's next meal. Look at this. Hey! We got Dixie, we got Pixie, Coffee Cream, Earl, and Elmer all right here saying, "What's up?" Hey, guys.
I know. I'm on I'm on this side now. It It >> [laughter] >> You guys don't even know what to think, but this coyote has definitely been coming and stalking all of my animals.
All right, guys, we are walking deeper, and if I'm really quiet, you can just hear how silent it is. It's almost like kind of eerie. It It's It's almost kind of I mean, it's nice, but it's a little scary to think just how quiet it is, how many animals this coyote has probably killed and no one has heard. I don't know if this coyote is going to come after me. I mean, they do try to lure our animals. I don't know if there's going to be like a pack of them and they're going to try to attack me.
>> [snorts] >> Maybe I should wait for Jacob, but what I want to look out for is like any any dead animals, any bones, anything that could lead us straight to this coyote.
Honestly, guys, this is like the perfect den for a coyote. I'm honestly really scared that I'm back here by myself cuz I don't I don't know if this thing's going to like lunge at me.
This coyote could definitely hide up in here, bring its prey back into here.
Also, these areas So, the areas that are really thick. So, thankfully, Jacob met us back here, but look, we ended up on the back of the property and this is like an entire forest back here. So, if you look at this side, you can see it's nice and open and exposed. The fence literally comes right up to here and then this whole forest has like eaten the fence. The fence is knocked over and there's like a little pathway right here. Do you see this, guys? Maybe this coyote is using this pathway to get in and out through the forest. Look at this, guys. This is insane. Now, we don't want to be out here for too much longer because it is about like 7:30.
The sun is about to completely go down.
It's about to be pitch black in like 10 minutes. So, we don't want to scare this coyote off. So, I think Jacob, the only thing left to do is to head back to the front and set the trap.
>> Head out. We got to go set a trap, folks. We got to catch this coyote because >> we don't want it to come back and kill my baby goats.
What is it, guys? What are you doing?
Wait Wait a minute.
Wait. I thought I saw something move over there.
I'm not sure. Now that it's dusk, this is when these predators like to come out. So, we are going to set the trap.
Hannah, do the honors. Open our dog food. So, we have two different baits. What do we got in there? Some delicious and nutritious They like that. They definitely like that, too.
>> Oh, yeah. How are we going to get this out? I think we got a stick right here.
Look. Here, we got a stick. All right.
>> There you go.
So, we're getting it on. Yep. That's really going to smell. That's really going to attract. Yeah, this is definitely going to catch it. They're going to love [snorts] this.
>> delicious.
>> Dogs definitely want it.
>> of want to try it myself. Here Here you go. Here, let me try.
>> [laughter] >> Delicious. Oh, Cali.
>> [screaming] >> Oh, look. She's got some. She wants it.
>> She's got the scraps.
>> Oh my gosh. So, basically what we're going to do is we're not going to use all this bait. Yeah, there's still Yeah, there's still some more.
>> we're going to put this on here. We're going to top it off with this delicious chicken leg. And then what we're going to do is we're going to put a little trail leading in so this coyote is lured into the trap. That is exactly what we want to do. So, folks, we are going to take this trap right now and we're going to tuck it into the bushes. I think it's just going to be a perfect place for it right over here.
What do you think, Hannah? I think that's perfect. I mean, this is like where she got attacked. Really? And we couldn't see it, so she was like hidden behind the building. Really? It was right here. Yeah. We're going to have to pick up the dogs. They're going to run in there. Yeah. You want to just move all of this out of the way? You want to set the trap?
Come here.
Come here.
Let's make sure that this trap works.
So, now that we have the trap set, we always want to make sure the trap door is working. We want to move any of this debris out of the way cuz we don't want it to get blocked when it goes to snap shut. We don't want that to happen. We want to create like a little pathway into the trap.
Let's see.
One, two, three.
Beautiful.
>> Boom, baby. And now what we want to do is we want to put our bait all the way into the back.
Just like that.
All right, there we go. Look at that.
Beautiful.
All right, we're just going to do that just like that.
And now we're going to add a little bit of our bait right here on the outside. So, we just want to break a little bit of it up right here so we can lure a predator. Now, we might not catch a coyote. We might catch a fox.
>> Awesome.
>> catch a bobcat, a Florida panther. Mhm.
We don't know. Hopefully not a Florida panther, those are endangered. We We definitely don't want to trap one of those. Hopefully he doesn't hit this and like get nervous.
I don't think so. I think it's perfect.
>> it's absolutely perfect. So, now that our trap is set, we've got to wait until the morning to see what we catch unless Hannah wants to come out here at night.
>> I think I'm definitely going to come out here with the flashlight to like see if I caught something. Yes, and if she did, you have to give me a call. Yeah, I I will. It might be like 3:00 a.m. 3:00 in the morning.
>> Call me at 3:00 in the morning and we'll be here to catch the predator. It is day two of our coyote hunt and we are heading to the back of my property to see if we caught anything. Now, this trap isn't on my property, but it's literally like right there. So, I think we're going to be able to see if the trap is actually closed, if we [laughter] possibly caught a coyote, and Oh, it's it's closed. Do you see this, guys? Oh my goodness, right here. You can actually see the front of the trap and you can see it's closed, guys.
Now, I can't see what's in the trap because the bushes are blocking it, but we need to call Jacob. Oh my gosh, we got to get him on the phone immediately because we might have actually caught the coyote. Here we go, guys, we're calling Jacob.
Jacob.
You're not going to believe it. We caught something.
No. Yeah. Coyote? I don't know. I'm I'm looking from the like the back of my yard. I can't see any like what's in there, but it's closed. There's something in it. Yes, the door is shut. No way. We caught something. I don't know if it's a coyote. I I don't know what it is, but I think Yeah, I'm going to head back there. Can you come? All right.
Well, I can't come. Wait, I burped. I can't come right now, but >> Okay. I don't know. Give me a call. Like FaceTime me. All right. I I guess I'll head back there and and I hope it's a coyote. I hope so, too, but I I hope I don't get attacked.
Well, do you have a weapon? Uh nope. Well, we're just going to go back there and pray.
But yeah, I'll give you a call when I when I check on it, okay?
Okay, cool. All right. Bye.
All right, guys. We're heading back there. I don't know what's in the trap, but it's definitely something good.
Moment of truth. What did we catch?
Comment down below. Did we catch a coyote?
Look at this.
We Oh my gosh.
Oh my gosh.
Hey.
It is terrified.
It is so scared, but we caught a little possum. Hey, buddy. Oh, yeah. You definitely devoured that chicken.
You are definitely very angry. You You are tiny. You are You are really little. Now, guys, unfortunately, we did not catch the culprit that did attack my dog. We caught a really tiny, angry possum. Look how he's kind of like stirring up to me, showing me his teeth. Oh, it's okay, buddy. I'm not going to hurt you, but I do look like a big animal that might eat you for dinner.
And I know he is so scared right now, so we're going to pick up the trap and re-release him back into the wild.
Oh, okay. I know. I know. You're really scared. But look at him.
He is really tiny. He is freaking out.
We need to get him out of here ASAP.
We're re-releasing him back into the wild in three. I'm a little scared, guys. I think this thing might turn around and attack me. But three, two, one. Wait.
All right, buddy. You're okay.
All right.
There you go.
We're going to step back. We're going to like maneuver him this way. Come on, buddy.
All right, let's go.
I know. Come on.
Behind you. Turn around. It's this way IS THE EXIT.
AND THERE HE GOES, GUYS. He is taking off and he is going into the wild. He is climbing up that tree right here. Now, obviously, we are not going to be chasing him cuz we don't want to scare him more than he already is. He is very freaked out. He just wanted to get a tasty bite of chicken to ease his hungry little possum belly, but unfortunately, guys, we didn't catch the culprit. We caught a tiny little innocent baby possum. But, we still have a huge problem on our hands. The coyote is still loose and lurking around this entire giant avocado grove. But, guys, that's going to end today's video. We're definitely going to be resetting and hopefully actually catching the culprit.
It definitely might take several tries because coyotes are very, very smart.
So, I don't expect us to catch him anytime soon, but that's going to end today's video. If you enjoyed the video, give this video a big thumbs up. Comment down below if you still think the coyote's lurking around. If you think that we're going to really catch him one day.
