[00:00:08]Um my name is Fran Schmidt. Um I'm based in Beijing and I'm a student at IIT Guhati in the data science and artificial intelligence.

[00:00:23]I selected IIT Guhati because of its renowned global reputation and the chance to earn my first international degree. My journey began uh when I discovered this program recommended through Corsera.

[00:00:39]So I have mostly a mathematics background. Uh it starts from the basics covering everything from essential computer commands to advanced programming and algorithms. And this stepwise structure ensured that my shift to data science and AI skills was both solid and practical.

[00:01:00]We interact both during classes and outside classes. It's very welcoming. I spend more time talking to uh my colleagues or batchmates.

[00:01:15]you know there was pointer on the Corsair website and then you know starting there it was very easy the IIT was listing exactly what I had to provide the flexibility is really unmatched I mean definitely if you compare to you know studying on side or at least you know when you're a student somewhere you know class time is fixed I basically study um then I come to the office on time do my things then come lunchtime time that I've got to say very often I actually uh swap lunch for learning.

[00:01:55]So I would say that first professors and the support team are very responsive. Um whenever I had a query it it's always been addressed promptly.

[00:02:08]I'm confident that this degree will open doors to more dynamic, better compensated and perhaps internationally uh relevant roles because AI skills are, you know, in demand and in a sort of um kind of formatted.

[00:02:26]That's also quite different. And when it came to taking exams again, I put that in kind of pause mode for now, but I used to compete in a Brazilian jiu-jitsu. And when it's fight time, um, yeah, you go there and you know when when it says fight, well, you literally fight for your life. So that actually the pressure of you have to perform now and at your best is something that I had kept thanks to Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

[00:02:54]It's a change of mindset at my end. uh when I was a student, you work literally like a dog to get to to get into one of these schools and then there is actually a possibility that I'm learning more now. Yeah, I wouldn't just call it online actually because I think I I find it actually really hybrid. You know, we've got live classes. I cannot see any fundamental difference in terms of what you learn between online and and and offline.

[00:03:22]uh recommending that I'm actually spending a lot of time recommending the prom to people. Take it as a hobby.

[00:03:28]You're just going to learn so much and in a very guided way instead of going a bit randomly on on you know internet learning where you know it's great and I'm very grateful I did that because that's how I ended up doing this program.
