This Deye 16kWh Lithium Battery Is One of the Best in the Solar IndustryAjouté :
Hi guys, in this video I'm going to be doing a full review of this daily 16 kilowatt hour lithium battery. This is how the battery looks like. It's a white battery, white interior. Then we have the black side cooling here. Then you can see the battery percentage being displayed currently, 49%. Now I'm going to show you everything you have in the box. It comes in the carton. It's a very heavy battery. It weighs about 123 kilograms for gross weight, then 109 kilograms net weight. Just the battery aside the accessories. I'm going to be showing you all you have in the box when you unbox it. So first of all, you have this positioning paper board. It enables you to position the brackets on the wall properly, so the battery remains well mounted on the wall and straight.
Essentially, you just put this one on the wall, then use the drill or the nail to mark the spot, these different holes. Then you can mount the brackets as well as the battery. Then we have the mounting bracket. These are the mounting brackets. We have two mounting brackets, one on top and one on the bottom. So if you turn the battery to this other side, you have to see these spots provided for the mounting bracket to fit in. We have these hooks. We have about four hooks right here where the battery can fit in.
So you have something like this at the end of the day when you're done mounting. Then on bottom, you have another one. So you have it like this.
When this one is firmly fixed to the wall, the battery stays on top. But personally, I prefer mounting it on the ground because it's ground mountable. So we have about four rollers that come with the battery and these rollers come with bolts, so you can attach the bolts to the rollers and fix them properly to the end of the battery. It enables the battery to be lifted some heights away from the ground, from the surface of the ground, because the batteries are not meant to be put on the ground directly due to temperature difference. It's going to discharge quickly. And the rollers are there to also enable easy movement from one spot to another because the battery is quite heavy. So this is it. You can see I can move this battery anywhere I want to move it to because of the rollers. And we also have the bolts.
In case you're using the mounting bracket to mount the battery, these are the bolts that you can use to to mount it.
Then we have these ones I said these are the smaller brackets for stackable mount. In case you want to mount it on the rack, but we're not going to be using this one. This one is not needed.
We have the communication cable. This one can be used to communicate one battery to another battery or to link one battery to another day battery connected in parallel. Mind you this battery can be connected up to 32 pieces in parallel. In each of the battery you have this cable where you can use to link from the out of one battery to the in of the other battery. You keep doing like that until you get to the end end batteries. Can also be used for BMS communication between the inverter and the battery. It's just a regular RJ45 cable, nothing special. The same color coding is a universal color code. We have the orange whites, orange, orange white blue, and blue and all of that.
The same thing for the inverter. The one that comes with the inverter also works as well. But the one is longer in case the distance between the inverter and the battery it's a little bit too much.
This one is shorter.
So that's the difference between it. You can use this one for both BMS communication and battery linkage.
Then we have the earth cable. A lot of installers skip this one uh because they think it's not important. But then the fact that it's right included in the box it's it goes to show you that it's something very important. So we have the earth terminal right here by the side of the battery. So you have it here. Simply connect it to the earth terminal. From there take it to the earth bus bar and do the rest connection. The rest is history.
Then we have the power cable, positive and negative power cable or the battery cable, anyone you want to call it. Here we have the 50 mm cable for the positive and negative terminal of the battery.
Here's the positive cover with the positive terminal cover.
The negative cover with the negative terminal cover.
So you don't miss the connection.
There's not going to be any miss any polarity miss at all.
All right, so this is a battery cable.
Very thick and ensure use the battery cable from the battery, the one that comes with the battery. As you can see how thick it is. It's a mix the required standard. In case you open your battery and you cannot find a battery cable, or you cannot find any of these cables on these accessories, just know that that battery has been opened before. So, you know what to do from there. Call your dealer and get it sorted out.
We have these screws. I think it's meant for the bracket. After the battery goes into the bracket, then you can use these screws to also hold it firmly to the bracket.
We have the manual as well. The manual is very important. It's as important as the battery itself. Then on the manual, we have the daily logo sticker. Then you decide what you want to do with it at the end of the installation, whether you want to put it on the battery, or you want to put it on the inverter, or whatever you want to put it. So, it's right here. Then we have the manual. And ensure you read this manual. It's not there for fancy. There's a lot of information right in the manual for you, for your consumption, and for you to be able to manage this battery properly in the best possible way. That's going to work for you and give you what you need and all of that.
So, that was the manual. And uh what else? That's all we have about the battery. You can see we have the power button right here, the off and on.
Essentially, you just turn this one on like this from here. Turn it off. We have the PCS port, the out and in. For the PCS, this is for BMS communication, then the out and in to link one battery to another battery. And there's a cover for these ports. Very important. Blocks dirt and dust from entering inside. Then we have the status indicator. So, right now it's running because the battery is turned on. There's a status indicator.
Yeah, you can see the battery percentage on the screen.
And that's quite good and quite nice.
Then we also have the charging indicator. So, if it's charging, you get to see this one moving as well. All right, so you know it's charging. If it's not charging, it stops. Currently, we have it at uh three bars. Then three bars translates to around 49%.
On the battery screen.
So, that's all you need to know about this battery. You can move it around from one place to another. You can see we have in-built [snorts] handles on the battery to enable easy movement. Okay?
The white and white interior and it's a nice one. All I can say, battery is well assembled and well packaged. If you're looking for a home solution and you need something that's going to give you power for a very long amount of time, I think you should consider a battery like this. This is not the end. I'm going to be giving you more videos about this battery while I connect to the 10 6 kW inverter.
So, I'm going to be using this inverter to do some actual load tests on the battery.
Just put it on, turn on some load, see the performance, just play around with it and show you every other information you need to know about the battery and also some and also the inverter as a bonus package. So, make sure you stick around on this channel. If you're not subscribed yet, hit the subscribe button and hit the like on the video. Share the video as well. A lot is coming your way, right? Okay, before we go, let's just look take a quick look at some of the technical parameters on the battery.
Nominal capacity 349 Ah. Battery comes with 349 Ah cells. Only few batteries come with that package. We have a nominal energy 16 kW hour.
16 kW hour. Nominal voltage 51.2 volts.
Then the maximum charge and discharge current 160 60 / 260 amps. That's massive. The discharge current at 260 amps this can power a lot of load at a time. It can send up to 260 amps. You know what 260 amps is? It's the amount of load that you can pull from this battery at a time. That's quite massive.
Then the BMS is specially made to handle that amount of load and that means this battery is a rugged and a strong battery. It's not your regular. Then we have operating voltage range 41.8 to 57.6.
So, it has a wider range. Yeah, so you can operate that for the 8 below 48, 47, 46 up to 44 volts. And that's is quite impressive. You couldn't have asked for more from a 16 kW lithium battery. And again, it's IP 21. The ingress protection is IP 21.
It's used for indoor purposes only. Not to be installed outdoors because it is not waterproof. It doesn't have that water protection.
So, um it's quite nice. It's quite fine.
Battery is white, clean, and neat.
Um then it's [snorts] actually has 90% depth of discharge. One of the best features I like about the battery, 90%. Not many batteries have the ability to deliver 90% of the total capacity.
But this one of the few batteries that can do that.
Um it's quite impressive. 90% of discharge, 6,000 cycles. So, if you discharge and recharge, discharge and recharge this battery 6,000 times before you can think about it dropping capacity to about 70%.
That's quite impressive.
That's quite impressive. All right? And if you have just few loads, minor loads, you don't always discharge the battery, it can last for over 10 years.
And as a matter of fact, has like 10 but 10 years warranty. So, they know what they are doing and they actually have told you 10 years, just go and use it. All right? After 10 years, come back and and share your testimony. Okay? I've installed a few of these for some of my customers already and so far so good. It has been nice and working well. No issues. I've never had cause to go back to check anything. No cell issue, no malfunctioning.
I know all of that. It's very good and I can recommend this battery anytime I need it to any of my viewer, any of my follower, customers, and all of that.
Just come and get one for yourself and you will thank me later. All right?
That's all for now. I'm going to give you more details about this battery, more specifications, technical parameters explanation, and what you need to know about this battery, how to communicate with other inverters, and so on and so forth. I want you to then make sure you keep a like on the video and subscribe to my channel. I'm going to be giving more and more practical tips and info about this battery and more.
Thank you very much. I'll see you soon.
