In high-temperature environments, compressor fridges often outperform more expensive three-way fridges because they are designed specifically for continuous operation in hot conditions, whereas three-way fridges may struggle to maintain proper cooling when ambient temperatures exceed their design limits.

Naff fridge and thunderAdded:
Well, hello. Hello. Hello. I'm Dave.
>> I'm Jill.
>> And together we're sat in the rain in the awning.
>> Yep.
>> It's lovely, isn't it?
>> Uh, well, I wouldn't say lovely, but it's it's not unpleasant.
>> No. You may hear the rumblings of thunder. I'll be very surprised if you don't. Um, it's the Thursday before, the Friday after, isn't it?
>> Yes.
>> And tomorrow is something of a big day, isn't it?
Yeah, it's Friday.
>> Yes, but it's big for a reason, isn't it? I know.
>> Yes. What shall be happening tomorrow is that the new awning will arrive.
>> Mhm.
>> Coming with pallet line, which leads us to believe that it's going to be on a pallet.
>> I would think so.
>> And I don't mean a dental pallet either.
>> Well, no.
>> Yep.
>> All right. They're shooting coves upstairs.
>> Yep. That's what they're doing. Camera angle move.
>> Uhhuh.
>> Yes. Um, so it arrives tomorrow. Uh, we got a lovely phone call yesterday from a very nice lady at Isabella.
>> Yes.
>> Shame my name wasn't Isabella.
>> I can't remember what her name might be. You never know.
>> You never knew. You never do know. No.
>> Um, saying that it would arrive on Friday and that we will have a 2hour window.
>> Mhm. Uh, which is nice cuz it means we can do what we need to do. Um, and then we got a phone call from Cameron >> Mhm.
>> at Loudoms to say when it lands, can you check it through? Make sure everything's there that's supposed to be there.
>> Mhm.
>> And then if there's anything missing, they can bring it up from Loudoms.
>> Yeah.
>> So that's all. I mean, so far >> so far so good.
>> I'm extremely impressed.
>> Yeah.
>> Both with Loudoms and with Isabella.
>> Mhm. Um, do you hear that one?
>> I'm aligned.
>> It's It's amazing. We We've [laughter] We got 20,000 pixies top dancing on the roof of the van and then they keep banging a big drum upstairs. It's all good.
>> And then switching the light on occasionally.
>> Oh, I flickers. I've noticed that.
>> Mhm.
>> You never know. We might get a nice fl a nice flashy flicker while we're talking.
That's That's easy for you to say, is it?
>> Probably.
>> Probably.
>> Um now, so yes, but a few things have occurred over this blazing hot weekend that we just had, didn't we?
>> Um these fridges, you can see the vent there. Look, three-way fridges.
I'm beginning to come to the conclusion that they ought to be offering compressing compressor fridges as an option or put the damn things in a standard. And I'll tell you for why. At one point during the course of the warm weekend we've just had you see that there the vent for the fridge um on this soal hottest day in May for 80 years which obviously means there must have been a hotter one 80 odd years ago. That's 1946. It's not that long ago. I mean, all right. We weren't around. Um, but anyway, at 30, what did we get to? 34Β° or something here. Mhm.
That more or less gave up. Um, there was no refrigeration in the fridge. Didn't matter what we did with it. Turned it up full, had it on middle, tried always, nothing. What has worked, and you won't be able to see it because it's behind Jill, is I've mounted a fan to blow into the bottom and push the hot air out the top. So, um I And yet our compressor fridge, the little cheap one that sits on the floor that will keep the beer in has been spot on on it.
>> Mhm.
>> I have it set to 2Β°. Count them.
And it's kept it at 2Β°. I've got no idea how much elastic trickery it's used, but it's a 40 W fridge, so it cannot use more than that. Um, and it was absolutely fine. And yet the hyper expensive three-way fridge, no. So, we've got a bottle of milk hoy out because it went off and it's not even nice enough to use as yogurt, is it?
>> No.
>> Just smells fizzy, if you know what I mean. So, yes. Um, so when the the new warning is up, the reason I mentioned the fridge is I'm giving we are giving consideration to buying a matching pair of underounter fridge and freezer, which means we'll be able to stock up on Kira's food. will be able to keep stuff that has got to be kept, you know, refrigerated refrigerated and also have a prep area um out here in the awning because we've been talking to loads of people, haven't we, that say they only really use a caravan to keep in.
>> Well, yeah. That's that's really the whole point, isn't it? At this time of the year, that should be the point.
Yeah.
>> Yes.
>> Should be able to do that.
>> Yes.
So, you won't see the awning go up in this video. That'll be next week's video. And I may well do a separate one on the audio on the awning being installed because uh Cameron and Dean from Loudens are coming up to do the installation on Tuesday of next week. So, obviously it won't make the video that you're watching now. Um that's going to be filmed. They've already agreed to that. So, I will be getting loads and loads of footage and you will see that somehow, >> whether it's part of next week's video or a separate video, it might be both.
Anyway, um that'll happen. That'll be good. Now, here's the thing. For those of you that are seasonally sighted, do you dress your awning maximally, minimally, or as though you were touring?
And if you're touring, what kind of kit do you use? Because I I feel I want to be, what's the word I've used? Refined.
>> That could be the day. Um, so I I want it to be nice. I want it to be a space that we can entertain in and stuff like that. So your advice would be uh gratefully received and possibly faithfully applied.
>> Mhm.
>> Possibly. Just depends on whether we agree with you or not.
>> Mhm.
>> Doesn't it?
>> Well, yeah. But it it's all new ideas.
That's what we're open to.
>> Yes.
And also, well, I know we've moved on from the fridge, but >> would anybody recommend getting uh a standalone fridge freezer to put in the awning?
>> Oh, not a fridge freezer.
>> No, I don't want a fridge freezer.
>> And a freezer.
>> Standalone fridge, standalone freezer, work surface between the two.
>> Yeah.
>> Do you think that's a good idea? Because >> a a lot of you have come up with some fabulous ideas and comments that have helped us an awful lot. So, we really do appreciate it. We do. We're not just asking for asking's sake. We're asking because we appreciate your your comments.
>> We were talking to a guy on site yesterday who's been here 3 years. It's his third season or fourth season. It's either his third or fourth season. They have the full owning up. Um, and they have a separate fridge. Separate. I don't think you don't know whether he's got a separate freezer. I think he might have the the freezer box in the fridge.
No, no, he's got the two because he's got the work surface across the top.
>> Um, and the air fryer goes on there and all of that kind of thing. It's very different when you're seasonal, isn't it?
>> Very completely different. Completely different.
>> I mean, we we >> we're still getting to to grips with it.
>> Well, we're not properly to grips with it yet because everything we've got was set up for touring, wasn't it?
>> Yes.
>> Let me give you a quick look around and then you can see what I mean. So, here I am stood in the far corner.
And I'll tell you what, Jill, it looks a lot bigger on screen than it is in real life.
So, there's the corner, right? And and you can see how it works with the pole up the back. This is a a 440 uh awning, by the way. And there's Jill sat around our horrible round table. I mean, it's not horrible. It's just the wrong size for everything really. And then Kira has her little mat that she lies on. We have the verandles.
I've remembered what they're called.
>> Mhm.
>> And and curtains and what have you.
Going out into the little kind of corral that we've done for Kira, which will be bigger on the the new awning. I keep coming back to you because I think you are gorgeous.
[snorts] Um, and we wander past the steps and this here is where the awning would normally finish. And there's the skinny little door. So that's what you would see through a window into the normal awning.
And then in here is where the scoot lives, he said. pulling back so you could see better. And the van outside obviously.
Um, now the whole thing is going to be obviously an awful lot bigger, isn't it, Jill?
>> Yeah. Well, the actual awning part will be roughly the size of the awning plus the annex that we've got, won't it?
>> Uh, >> roughly.
>> Yes. And then we've got >> then the annex on top a lot.
>> Yeah.
>> And the the wind brakes will go out to [sighs] 3 m away from next door. Did you lot see that flash there? I bet they didn't.
>> I didn't. So >> Oh, maybe it was me.
Oh well, hang on.
>> It's passing now.
Hold on.
Bet they heard that though.
>> I bet they [laughter] did.
[snorts] >> Now, people be saying, "Why the hell are they filming during a thunderstorm?"
That's why we're filming >> during the thunderstorm.
>> Yeah.
>> It's clearing the air.
>> Yes.
>> It has been a little muggy.
>> Mhm.
>> Um and then it was cheoogy. Now it's WGY. No, it's not wiggy. It's thuggy now, isn't it? Yes. Um, and it's clearing the air quite nicely on a thie.
>> Mhm.
>> The uh hopefully the air will be fully cleared by fraggy. And then by next choogy, hopefully we'll have a decent day for putting the awning up.
>> Mhm.
>> Um, yeah. All good, isn't it? All good.
>> Yep. Yep.
>> Is there anything else that you would like to speak to our viewers about? Is there anything I said I wanted to talk about?
No, >> I think we are where we need to be for the moment. I will however say this.
The move towards seasonal pitching I think for us has been one of the best things we could possibly have done.
And I'll tell you for why I absolutely detested towing this two-tonon monster.
Um, I didn't trust it. I don't trust it for towing.
Now we don't have to worry about payload.
We can because we are seasonally pitched have what the hell we like in the awning or in the caravan.
We'd been looking for instance at replacing the two mattresses on the twin beds.
>> Mhm.
>> And we've been pricing them all out and then looking at the weight and of obviously the beds are behind the axle.
And you look at the weight and you go, "Oh god, that's another I don't know 20 kilos that we'd be putting behind the axle." Don't have to worry about that now. If we can afford them, guessing, if we can afford them, we can buy them.
We can put them in. It doesn't make a heap of a difference. Just doesn't.
>> No.
>> Not worried about payload.
>> Don't have to worry about making sure that the water tanks and everything are drained off because we're not torn. As long as it's not going to freeze, we're fine. I mean, we still do drain down. If we're going away for more than when I say going away, it is going away when we go home. Is it?
>> Yeah.
>> We don't go home. We go back to the house.
>> Go back to the house.
Um it it's just yes it's the very best thing we could have done. And let let me tell you if you are wondering about it and thinking about it find a site that'll do what they call part seasonal do a month and then you'll know.
>> It's what we did. It is cuz I I wasn't sure about being in one place for longer than Well, the most we've ever done it before is Fortnite.
>> Yes.
>> And I was really ready to move on after that. Yes.
>> So I was a bit >> That was That was at Waleswood last year's mate was the Fortnite. That's the only time we've been there longer.
Right.
>> Anywhere longer than a week.
>> Yeah. We're there for a Fortnite. But because you can because we can get out more.
>> Um it's No, it's great.
>> It is.
>> Best thing we could have done.
>> Um which is grand.
>> Yeah.
>> Which is absolutely grand. So there shall be more.
>> Yeah.
>> Um >> but can I just say a big thank you to all those that have supported us throughout this because it has been very challenging for us.
>> It has. Yes. Um, and so many of you have been so supportive and suggesting things and you know who you are and you know what you've said. So, thank you very much.
>> It's put us in a place now where I'm extremely happy.
>> It's really nice.
>> It's in a lovely part of the world. Um, York Meadows Caravan and Camping Park.
If if you're looking for somewhere to go, give this place a try. And if you if you have a vehicle that can do small windy country roads, then go and explore some of the small windy country roads around here.
>> Oh yes, it's >> it's so pretty.
>> Yeah, >> there's some wonderful housing, >> beautiful properties around the place.
>> Um and it's just tranquil until the thunder starts.
>> Yeah.
Yeah.
>> So, there you go.
>> Yep.
>> Right. I think we'll call it there. Y >> um we needed to get something out to let you know that we're still walking about and breathing.
>> Mhm.
>> That the awning is coming. There's good stuff coming because I know the last video was not received awfully well. But then I don't expect technical videos to be received all that well. And I might if people are interested in cameras and microphones and drones and the technological side, do please let me know. Um and we can either do uh Tech Tuesdays or I'll start another channel or repurpose one of the other channels to do technology stuff cuz that interests me. That'll do. And >> yeah, >> yes, it will. It'll do. So, thank you so much for watching so far. if you have been um if you haven't, you've skipped too far ahead. Um so we'll see you next time, won't we?
>> Mhm.
>> But until then, enjoy the roads.
>> Enjoy the skies.
>> But most of all, enjoy your lives, cuz life rocks when your living room rolls and there's a thunderstorm rolling overhead.
>> Mhm.
>> Rolling, rolling, rollers. [music] >> When call us to say goodbye. We'll count the days till we're back under that sky.
[music] Till the green returns and the stories revive, we'll be dreaming of a seasonal life.
>> [music]
