This video explains that the '1,260 days' mentioned in Revelation 12:6 (and other scriptures like Daniel 7:25, Daniel 12:7, and Revelation 11:2-3) refers to the Great Apostasy period when the church fled into the wilderness, not a future seven-year tribulation. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches that these time periods represent the 1,260 years of apostasy before the Restoration, with the Joseph Smith translation confirming this interpretation by changing 'days' to 'years.' The video also explains that Daniel's 70 weeks prophecy (490 years) covers the period from the Babylonian captivity to Christ's crucifixion, with the final week representing the atonement and covenant confirmation.

Blessed is He That Waiteth 1,335 DaysAdded:
Hi everybody, welcome to Christian Homestead. My name is Jared. I wanted to do just a quick simple video revisiting this concept of Revelation 12:6 where it says, "And the woman fled into the wilderness where she hath a place prepared of God that they should feed her there 1,23 score days."
This is a scripture about the great apostasy. The woman is the church. The church left the earth during the the great apostasy. He just had like the remnants of it. Uh but the priesthood keys were taken away. Um and then the child is the political kingdom of God.
So Christ was crucified, the apostles were martyed, priesthood keys were lost, the great apostasy set in although you did have Christianity just without the proper authority. The woman fled into the wilderness. And it says here 1,23 score days. 1,260 days. I've pointed out before that there's a Joseph Smith translation for this. And if we go to that, it says uh 1,23 score years.
So, what I wanted to do originally with this video is talk again about this concept of the seven-year tribulation.
It's a doctrine that our church has never taught. It's something that people put together when they try and piece together the scriptures. They come up with this idea that there's going to be a special seven-year period. Um, I I think most of them believe it's a seven-year period before the second coming. And uh, I ended up, as I was preparing for this video, I I did something a little a little bit more comprehensive.
I originally just wanted to point out that this is one of the scriptures that people use to come up with a seven-year tribulation. Essentially, you have these two halves of the seven years. So, two three and a half year periods that go together and then it makes up seven years and it's it's a tribulation period, right? And if you go online and you do a search for seven-year tribulation period, there's no end to the the graphics that people have put together and timelines. people that are really trying to study the Bible, trying to understand the second coming, trying to be prepared for it, uh, but but without the proper um, revelation and authority that we have in our church.
So, you have a bunch of this and very closely related to it is uh, Daniel's 70 weeks. Um, we're going to go into that a little bit more. But what I wanted to do as I was preparing for this is I wanted to see all the scriptures that are used, like all the three and a half year periods that are used uh to come up with the idea of a 7-year tribulation. I went to Grock as a starting point and it's like, oh yeah, look at Daniel chapter 7:12, Revelation chapters 11, 12, and 13. This is where you find these different 3 and 1/2 year periods. I've said before on the channel that the book of Revelation, it seems to me, is almost like the second book of Daniel. It's like a sequel essentially because you see a lot of the same themes and imagery um between the two books. And one of the one of those things is the three and a half year periods.
So, I I ended up um going to my spreadsheet called quotes numbers where I'm trying to keep track of all these special numbers in the church and in in scriptures and trying to understand their full meaning. See if I can see patterns or, you know, motifs, uh symbolism, things like that.
And I I'm kind of surprised I haven't done it up until this point, but I've added all these different three and a half year periods together right here from rows four down to 10. And this is what we're going to review in this video. And there's some interesting things to think about. So it comes in a few different forms like we have the phrase time and times and and the dividing of time. actually have a couple quotes from John Taylor that talks specifically about this which is really interesting and very useful. Then we have 3 and a half days 42 months uh 100 1,260 days 1,260 years 1,290 days 135 sorry 1,335 days.
Um, and really quick before we get into the numbers and as we're thinking about a tribulation period, uh, something really interesting was published by the church just last year about the, you know, what other Christians call the rapture or like the quickening event, whatever you want to call it, and uh, tribulation because within other Christian denominations, at least the ones that are interested In Christian esquetology, a lot of people try and figure out is the rapture going to happen before the seven years or is it going to happen in the middle of the seven years and that's why it's divided in into two halves because there's supposed to be a rapture in the middle or is it going to happen afterwards?
Well, our church had something to say about that. not not necessarily about a seven-year tribulation because again that's never been taught in our church.
But look what it said. Uh you can find this on the church website.
It's called stand ready for the second coming of Christ. Um do Latter-day Saints believe in the rapture? Although the term the rapture is never specifically used in the Bible, many Christians use the term to refer to the verses in the New Testament that describe the righteous being swept up to meet Jesus when he returns during the second coming. In modern times, some have used the term to describe the belief that the righteous followers of Christ will be removed from the earth prior to the tribulations that the Bible teaches will precede the second coming of Jesus Christ. And I I would actually say more specifically the seven-year tribulation period that other Christians believe in. Continuing in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the term rapture is not generally used. Nor do we believe that the righteous will be removed from the earth prior to the period of tribulation.
So, I think that's interesting. And again, it's not really in the context of a 7-year tribulation period, but um I feel like it it's a little bit of a niche idea among some. And so if if you thought that there was going to be like, oh, we're going to be caught up and then um the earth is going to experience all this tribulation and warfare and plagues and whatever. No, it doesn't seem like that's the case.
All right, continuing.
So, nor do we believe that the righteous will be removed from the earth prior to the period of tribulation that will precede Jesus Christ's return. Instead, we teach that those who have faith and follow God's commandments need not fear these tribulations as they will have the power of the Holy Ghost to comfort and guide them through the challenging times that will lead up to Jesus Christ's joyous second coming.
I could add on to that that we've been going through tribulation and I think one of one of the key moments when it really started well maybe there's been kind of like different periods we obviously went through tribulation at the very beginning of the church being driven from stateto state but then another phase began I think with the dedication of the solici temple because Wilfford Woodruff said that the the four angels of the book of revelation that were standing at the four corners of the earth that they were released at the dedication of the solici temple to bring judgments on the earth. And since that time, we have had world wars. We've had pandemics. We've had record-breaking calamities.
So, I I think we're already in it. I think we're already in it. I think it's going to probably increase, but I think we're already in it. We already know what it's like. Okay. So at this point, let's go through the different scriptures just so you can kind of see how they show up and then I want to point out a few things. So the first one that I know of is in Daniel 7 24-2 and the 10 horns out of this kingdom which these are the 10 like the 10 nations or kingdoms that come out of the Roman Empire after the Roman Empire falls are 10 kings that shall arise and another shall rise after them and he shall be diverse from the first and he shall subdue three kings and he shall speak great words against the most high and shall wear out the saints of the most high and think to change times and laws and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
Other Christians do not have the same concept that we do of the great apostasy. So when they read things like this, they think, "Oh, there's going to be a big bad Antichrist that has to appear before the second coming." I'm not going to address all that in this video. I have an entire playlist talking about the fact that our church does not teach that because the same scriptures where they read Antichrist, we read Satan and the great apostasy. That's like one of the big differences between us and them. So, and to illustrate that really quick because it goes along with what we're reading here, let's go back to my spreadsheet called quotes numbers and we'll go up to time in times and the dividing of time and let's just read well all we need to do is just read this one quote from John Taylor. This is in journal of discourses and he said Jesus preached the gospel.
Was it right? Yes. Why did it not continue? I do not know, but it did not continue. And the prophet said it would not. And one of them prophesied that a certain power would seek to make war with the saints of God, and that it would prevail against them, and that they would be given into his hands until a time and times and the dividing of a time. And then other events had to transpire, and other plans and principles had to be introduced. And by and by the time came for the restoration of the gospel again. And so there went the time and times and the dividing of time according to uh President John Taylor, the great apostasy.
And then came the restoration of the gospel again. And Joseph Smith was raised up and through him the revelations of God and the priesthood were restored. the same priesthood that Jesus had and which existed upon the earth uh long before his day.
Okay, so we have that from Daniel chapter 7. Let's move on to Daniel chapter 9. This is where we get the 70 weeks of Daniel. And um I did a well I did kind of a revision of this. So this has to do let's just read it. Okay, this is the the angel talking to Daniel. 70 weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city to finish the transgression.
So this was during the Babylonian captivity.
Israel had turn or you know the Jews because the 10 tribes were already gone at this point. But the Jews had transgressed. They had turned away from God. And so he allowed the Babylonians to come and take them captive.
And uh there was a like a time frame, a time limit for their punishment, for paying for the transgression.
And then the angel goes into these different time periods.
Uh verse 25, know therefore and understand that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the prince shall be seven weeks. So this is the first period of the 70 weeks. When we're talking about weeks here, we're not talking about days. We're talking about weeks of years. So seven years would be a week. Um and actually that is a little bit in dispute. It may not actually be actual years although I think that is the consensus but think of it in those terms. So say that 7 years equals a week. So 7 weeks would be 49 years and 70 weeks uh would be 490 years. The 70 weeks of Daniel probably 490 years.
So of the 70 weeks you have this period that's seven weeks the command to restore and to build Jerusalem and then after that you have three score in two weeks so that's a score is 20 so 3 * 20 is 60 + 2 so it's 62 so if you add 7 to 62 that gives you 69 9. And so that means that the final period is one week. Okay.
It says after three score in two weeks.
So I I think that's referring specifically to this this period of 62 weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself. And the people of the prince that shall come uh shall destroy the city and the sanctuary, and the end thereof shall be with a flood. And unto the end of the war the death uh sorry and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
Let's go first to the Institute student manual to see what it says and then I want to visually show this to you on my second coming timeline spreadsheet.
All right. It says the Hebrew word that is commonly translated weeks would more properly be translated sevens. It means a period divided into sevens. The phrase 70 weeks thus refers to 70 periods of sevens. These periods of seven could be days, weeks, months, years, or even periods of unspecified duration.
This is important. They're pointing this out because there's people that try and calculate the timing of the second coming. And there's people that think that this has to do specifically with the seven-year tribulation period, that that final week um is something that hasn't happened yet. It's going to be the seven the seven-year tribulation.
Uh so you you understand. So it's important that it's not necessarily years. Uh it could be some other unspecified period of time. Maybe it's like um one and a half years or or maybe every three, you know, something like that. Okay. Because of this variation, it is difficult to tie Gabriel's explanation to specific historical time periods. But many attempts have been made to do that, resulting in several different differing interpretations of the passage. Sperry called these verses quote one of the most difficult passages in all of the Old Testament. end quote.
Though the time periods mentioned are difficult to identify, the context and several phrases in the passage indicate that the passage has to do with the period in which the salvation of Daniel's people is to be accomplished.
Now, this is important, too, because for some reason, people will take those first 69 weeks and realize that they have to do with the time period between the Babylonian captivity and the coming of Christ, but then they break off that last week and bring it 2,000 years into the future and apply it to our own day.
And I think they do that because they see these three and a half year periods and they're like, "Well, that clearly hasn't happened." And that seems to match up with the last week of Daniel.
But it just it doesn't make sense. Um I'll I'll show you something that's going to make sense in just a minute.
Okay. Daniel 9:24 is undoubtedly a reference to the coming of Christ and his atonement by which forgiveness of sins and reconciliation to God through repentance would be made possible by completing the mission his father sent him to accomplish. Christ fulfilled the law in the words of the prophets concerning his coming and thus he uh and thus did he seal up or make sure the vision and prophecy. Verse 25 refers to the time between the return of the Jews to rebuild Jerusalem and the coming of Messiah.
Verse 26 makes reference to the Messiah being cut off but not for himself, which seems to be an illusion, sorry, an illusion to his crucifixion.
The rest of the chapter describes the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple and parallels very closely the message of Matthew 24:15 and Joseph Smith's inspired ver revision of that verse.
The reference to confirming the week for one week, however, so this is like the last of the 70 weeks has not been satisfactorily explained. It may make problematic the explanation given above.
So ultimately, we kind of don't know exactly what's going on here. Again, it seems clear that it has reference to Christ, the crucifixion, his atonement. um the Jews coming back to the land of Israel from Babylon.
But what I did on my spreadsheet is it talks about the fact that Messiah would come after the 69th week. Okay. Um up here it says and after three score in two weeks.
So excuse me. So that's after the 62 weeks shall Messiah be cut off but not for himself.
So if that is referring to the crucifixion and I think that it is here's the 69. So here's here are the weeks of Daniel right here in columns L and M. Let me zoom in.
Okay, so the year is probably 33 AD. um Christ being 33 years old most likely.
And um and I just so I I I adjusted the 70 weeks of Daniel on my spreadsheet to that happening just after the 69th week.
Okay. So you go back in time. Let's go to the first week.
And uh this matches up pretty nicely with this.
So this is according to um Britannica online. The article is called Nehemiah.
It says about 444 BCE Nehemiah journeyed to Jerusalem and aroused the people there to the necessity of repopulating the city and rebuilding its walls. Remember in Daniel it said from the time of the announcement to rebuild the walls and such. And so you can see that with with the way I have this adjusted it matches up pretty nicely with uh the first week of Daniel. If if we are thinking of it as weeks of years. If if the time period is years then it fits really well. it falls during the you know the sixth day of the week of the first week. Okay. So that being said, you go forward in time.
Let's go back to when Messiah comes and right here during the 70th week because it said after the 62 weeks. So you have the seven weeks and then you have another 62. That brings you to to a total of 69 and then you're in the 70th week. So say he is crucified on the first day of the 70th week. That would be after the 62 weeks. Um and then it says right here, "And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week."
Now, some interpretations say, "Well, this is talking about the Antichrist, and he's doing he's arranging political agreements and alliances, and he's setting up his evil kingdom."
Okay, whatever. It's not clear if it's talking about Messiah or somebody else.
It's ambiguous, but people choose to take it the antichrist way. But one thing that I do know is that after Christ was crucified, he was resurrected.
And after he was resurrected, he went to the Nephites, which I think you could say he uh how is it worded again? He Let's go back here.
Um he confirmed the covenant, right, with the Nephites. He informed them. He showed them that the atonement had taken place and he was now resurrected and the law of Moses is now done away because here it says, "And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease."
Maybe that's because we are now shifting from one dispensation to another.
there's no longer the need of the law of Moses with its uh sacrifices and such.
I I know how some people read this. They they think, "Oh, it's the Antichrist. He stops, you know, the temple." Um here's the abomination of desolation, which the abomination of desolation did take place after Christ's resurrection.
Um, it wasn't until sometime afterwards in the year 70 AD right here.
But I I I'm thinking that this is probably what it means.
Messiah was cut off. He was resurrected.
He confirmed the covenant with his disciples in Jerusalem and the Nephites and the 10 lost tribes and possibly other groups for all we know.
Going to all these different places confirming the covenant, going to the spirit world, right? Because before he was resurrected, he was in the spirit world for three days uh doing stuff there. So, I don't know. It's just one way to think about it. I'm not saying that it's doctrine, but it's something to think about.
Okay. And then Daniel 12, uh this is another angel uh talking to Daniel and he refers to once again a time, times, and and in half. So, we've already covered that. And then um this is in response to the question how long shall it be to the end of these wonders.
So at this point uh it is talking I think about yeah the last days in the last days if we look at the chapter heading okay verses 11 and 12. And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be 1,290 days. Blessed is he that waiteth and come and cometh to the,35 and 30 days.
Okay, there is an interesting thing about this uh an interesting observation from my friend um my friend Jen with Christian Fire Poppy.
You know, if you're familiar with her, she's all about numbers and dates and stuff like that. And she had this really interesting observation. Now, I'm not I don't think she's saying this and I'm not saying it that this is fulfillment of this scripture in Daniel, but I think that things from the scriptures can have partial fulfillments or they can be part of a pattern. Um, so she made the observation that you had the Salt Lake Temple and then all temples worldwide that were closed during the pandemic.
And so she was looking at March 26, 2020.
and she was doing the 1,290 days. Okay? Because in verse 11, it's talking about the abomination that maketh desolate, the daily sacrifice being taken away. So that in in uh Daniel's day, that evokes the image of the temple, right? Sacrifices taking place in the temple and how that would be 1,290 days. Well, if you go from March 26th and you go 1,290 days, it brings you to October 7th of 2023. And we all know what happened in Israel uh when that took or on that date. And then like the book of Daniel says, if you go to 1,335 days, uh she doesn't have it on this slide because I think she made this Yeah.
Yeah. She made Yeah, she made this uh before it happened. So, she made this video October 21st of 2023 and she was like, "We should look at November 21st. Uh, we should look at November 21st."
And what happened, I think it may have been on the 20th or maybe it was on the 21st. I had it up earlier, but I closed out of it. But um that's the day that there was like this it wasn't the first hostages to be released by Hamas, but it was like the first organized group like it wasn't just it was like a negotiated group um of hostages to be released. It was making big news at the time and that happened. So it's just kind of interesting how that's a really interesting parallel. Blessed is he that waiteth and cometh to the,3530 days. So in their case from the closure of the temples worldwide until that first organized group of hostages were released.
Yeah, they were blessed for waiting that amount of time. They they were released.
It's I don't think that I don't think it's coincidence. Make sure to subscribe to Christian Fire Poppy.
Okay. And then we skip forward to the book of Revelation in the New Testament, chapter 11.
And um uh I don't think I'm going to read the whole thing, but it talks about a period of 40 into months that the Gentiles tread underfoot um Jerusalem. And then it goes into talking about the two witnesses, how they're going to prophesy for 1,260 days.
Um and then later on it talks about the fact that they would be killed and then after three and a half days the spirit of life from God entered into them and they stood upon their feet and great fear fell upon them which saw them. Um which is interpreted to mean that they were resurrected.
So you have Jerusalem being underfoot of the Gentiles for 42 months, the two witnesses preaching for 1,260 days, and then they lie in the streets dead for three and a half days.
Well, oh, and then I'll just remind you of this. the Joseph Smith trans translation correction of re Revelation 12 where it changed it from days to years. It's the same number 1,260.
But then do I still have it up? Yeah.
Let's go to the Institute student manual where it talks about 42 months.
And I feel like this is very insightful and something to understand. It says, 'The angel told John that Jerusalem would be trotten under foot underfoot 40 and two months. 42 months is the equivalent of 3 and 1/2 years. Likewise, the two witnesses mentioned in verse three would prophesy and testify of Jesus Christ for 1,260 days or approximately 3 and 1/2 years. They would be slain and their bodies would lie in the street for 3 and 1/2 days. In the scriptures, particularly in Revelation, the number three and a half often describes a limited period of tribulation during which evil forces are allowed to do their to do their work.
Since three and a half is half of seven, which symbolizes perfection and completion, it may represent imperfection and apostasy. It may also suggest that God will not allow evil to go on unchecked. Evil's time is bounded and its limits are set.
It really does to me seem like the three and a half motif is symbolic. And that's how I take it. I could be wrong, maybe it is literal, but it's interesting in the case of the Joseph Smith translation because like I was saying before, this has to do with the woman or the church going into the wilderness and she's there for a period of time and then she comes back and how that has to do with the great apostasy.
Yeah, it would be better described as years rather than days.
Uh more like a thousand plus years because that's how long the great apostasy went on for before the restoration of the gospel.
And when we look at uh Revelation 11 and it's talking about uh Jerusalem being trotten underfoot of the Gentiles for 4 and2 months. Well, I think it's that same period, the great apostasy and the period leading up to 1967 when during the six- day war, uh, the Jews, Israel, they conquered Jerusalem and literally took it from the Gentiles.
You still have the Gentiles that live there, but it came under control of of Israel.
And when we talk about the times of the Gentiles, that's one part of that prophecy. One part has to do with who has physical control of the city. Um, and then the other part has to do with the gospel going first to the Gentiles and then the Jews, which is opposite from the way that it was during Christ's dispensation. But this kind of makes sense right here. 42 months that would that would signify the time of apostasy, the great apostasy.
Jerusalem taken away from the Jews while they're while they were dispersed throughout the world. And now in this last dispensation, they're starting to return. In 1967 was a a really big year in terms of prophecy, I think.
And so when I think about the two witnesses, I don't know, maybe there literally will be two prophets. um the way that people sometimes picture it that are going to be in the streets of the Jewish quarter of Jerusalem and they're going to be street preaching or it may be more along the lines of what I've said that we've had many many prophets that have gone to literally gone to Jerusalem. They've met with the prime minister. They've met with the mayor of Jerusalem. They've met with many Jews. Um maybe it's just the collection of them and their multiple witnesses, you know, because we we never do things just by one witness. It's always done in by the mouth of two or three witnesses.
And maybe the the 1,260 days of their ministry, maybe since it's in terms of days rather than years, it's just meant to represent this dispensation.
This dispensation is short compared to the great apostasy.
So, it's just something to think about.
I'm not saying that it's doctrine.
And them lying in the streets for three and a half days.
I have a really interesting idea about that that I realized, but that's going to be a completely different video and I think you're going to like it. When I had this realization, I was like, "Oh my gosh, this might actually be it." Um, but I'll save that probably for the next video or a couple videos from now.
Um, okay. And I think that's it. Here, here's another 42 months. This is Revelation 13.
And excuse me, it's talking about the beast. Um, and there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies and power was given unto him to continue 40 and two months. So again, I I think that this is referring to the um the great apostasy. It's talking about, you know, you have the beasts that represent the kingdoms of the world and um controlled by Satan and whatever.
Okay? And again, if you're interested in everything that I put together about the Antichrist, that there's a lot that goes against that idea in our church with our own doctrine, our own prophets, and what have been said. There there's more than you probably realize. So, if you're interested, watch this playlist.
Um, so yeah, I I don't think there's anything I need to cover from here.
We've already read it all, but in case you need to refer to this stuff again, uh, this is not on my quotes A throughZ spreadsheet. This is on it's called quotes numbers. I feel like it deserves its own spreadsheet. Uh, just because I don't know, just to keep things separate.
Um, but we we've noticed a lot a lot of really interesting things about numbers.
Here's one of my favorites.
Okay, 14 words.
This is this is a revelation that President Lorenzo Snow received.
Uh, it was simply this. It's a set of 14 words.
uh one sentence each sentence is seven words adding up to a total excuse me a total of 14 words.
As man now is God once was. As God now is man may be.
I think that's interesting because I think about President Nelson, how he pointed out that this dispensation started with seven words by God the Father himself.
This is my beloved son. Hear him. It's seven words. And President Nelson pointed that out uh in his article called The Future of the Church: Preparing the World for the Savior's Second Coming. April 2020 Leona article.
Uh numbers have definitely been used throughout the scriptures and in the modern day church. Um I don't think every single number has meaning necessarily, but it's clearly a way that the Lord communicates certain things.
Um, I mean, we even have a priesthood office called the 70. And I think that's because of the 70 nations that are mentioned in Genesis.
Um, you know, the 70 are supposed to be essentially like missionaries to the to the world. Um, anyway, I could go on and on, but just know that this is a resource for you. The link is in the description box of each video.
Okay, that's going to be for this one.
I'll talk to you guys later.
