This Is Hard, But We Have No Other Choice, But To Move On!!Added:
Oh, >> faster.
We just got a sheet over him, keeping him in the shade. He's doing really good. Um, hey guys, welcome back to the channel.
Thank each and every one of y'all for clicking on today's video. Um, today we're going to be moving some hay and I don't know if the wind will die down.
We're going to end up going fishing as well. Um, I told the kids was going to do more fishing this year and that's what we're going to do. But as many of y'all know, um the last video that I believe was aired, um y'all seen where we lost Stevie and um I was bringing Steph down here to show her where I actually buried her. I wanted to bury her right here by the house so she could come down here and the kids can come down here. And um it's been a rough couple days. It's getting better since it's happened. Uh we never expected was kind of like really in shock when it happened. Um we, you know, rushed her to the vet. Honestly, uh I really thought we we escaped it. Um because once the vet got in there and did her stuff, um she began not looking so bloated. But when we got to the vet, you know, she basically come out and said, you know, her her stomach's twisted. And I told Steph, how'd she know that by, you know, just just listening to it? And then I was kind of hoping, well, maybe maybe they just say that so if something bad happens, you was prepared for it. But she was right. And um she did everything she could to save her.
There's things that we know now that I wish we I mean we knew of but they had they I mean there's been times that they had got down in the deer corn you know all that times they get down there and ate all the deer corn and there was no problems. Um, but what she told us is they get to rowing and sometimes that stomach gets twisted and >> Yeah, definitely.
The horses will definitely be pinned up.
>> Yeah, >> deer season.
>> Yeah, deer season definitely be pinned up. in which hopefully we do get our our fence eventually done up here so we can turn everything um the goats and stuff free back here cuz I mean there's areas up around the house we're going to do some mowing. So >> you decide to match me today?
>> Oh, I guess so. It's Walker Farm Fam time, I guess. Um but we do thank y'all for the prayers. I know. Um, it was it was a crazy day, but there's a lot of it was chaotic there for a little while trying to get her loaded, trying to get her to the vet. Um, you know, me, you would think being uh in law enforcement, uh, those kind of deals I could could handle a little bit better and I can handle them all day long at work. But when it comes to home, family, and my animals, I kind of kind of lose it. But, you know, there's one of those things like I said in the video was if anything, you know, is my fault for not putting up the corn that night and we had left the corn on the back of the trailer before and had never had any issues with it. But, like I said, they have before, too. So, I don't know. It's just one of those deals that it's hard, but as time goes on, we will heal. I think we've kind of been in talks. I don't know if you've already talked about it in your video, but um maybe possibly um keeping um her baby now, >> spirit. keeping her uh her baby spirit now um means that the only reason why we would get rid of her is so um she he would not breed back into its mom and in a way it's like I want to keep her but in a way is like every time you see him >> um you know it's going to bring that memory back and um I'm one of those that I don't like that type of memories When things like that happens, I try to um >> But then again, you keep that camper.
>> Yeah. Yeah, I do keep that camper because I like to know where we come from, you know?
>> Well, I guess I'm opposite, too, because I don't want to look at that camper anymore. It's just >> Yeah. I don't want to look at it. But then the horse, I want to keep it to remember.
>> Yeah. So, like I say, um she she'll probably be talking about that on her channel by the time this is released.
She'll already have a video out. And we just want to thank y'all for the prayers. I'm just thankful for all the kind people out there that know that, you know, this is a hard situation that we're going through. Oh, he already hooked it up. We are going up here and getting the truck and trailer.
It's so crazy. Baiton just drives the truck down here, hooks trailer up, and I'm like, "Hey, son, hold on. We got to record."
>> Now he's pulling the ramps down.
>> Hold up, Jack.
You got that trailer on there, right?
>> Huh?
>> Take the bad boy off.
>> Oh, they are in there. But I thought it was It looked like it.
>> I thought I had them up there by the creek.
Oh, them were the ramps to my trailer.
This is dad's trailer.
>> Oh, okay.
>> This is the one we loaded the car on.
Here we go.
Pretty much done it all. You going to share the glory by bringing it off the trail.
>> That's right. That's right. He don't have enough of money to pay for this thing.
What inarnation?
>> Oh, he he just wants to get on the easy way.
Heat up here.
Believe it or not, I own this thing.
This ain't me. This is my daddy. So, everybody know that I don't drink beer anymore. I ain't had a drink in 14 years. But my dad likes to drink one every now and then.
>> That's me.
>> There ain't nothing wrong with it. I just can't handle it.
got to know how to work it there, Jack.
Oh, I'm going to get that one and we'll follow y'all down there and then we'll load it and then I got the uh go get the um go get the uh TM up there real quick.
Bring it down here.
>> Have you ever done that?
>> Actually, bring it over here to the hay rake. So, we're going to go ahead and get this baby. Man, I think I may go ahead and pull this off because Yeah, I need to get me a saw to do the fence though. I just hate taking that off and on, off and on cuz soon as I take it off, I'll be needing it. But let's go over here and unload it.
I'm still waiting to get a partnership with the track co. Not a track co, a Bobcat. Oh, wow. There's my pliers.
Wow.
>> Uh, yeah. Go ahead and drop it.
>> Pick it up.
>> Drop it.
>> All right. Hold on.
>> Yeah.
Get her in first gear.
>> No, not yet.
All right, go.
>> Like go up.
>> Nothing's okay. It's okay.
Wait. So, what do we have this for?
>> Huh?
>> We're doing both.
>> One of them's going to be here while we run down there and load that and come back.
>> Or we may use We may >> So, I need that one on.
>> Yeah, we'll get that in a second.
>> Well, that's for the back.
>> No, that goes for the front.
>> I just never seen one that has a top thing for it.
>> I thought the same thing time the whole time we've had it.
May have to get those clips off of that one.
>> Yeah, >> let's go ahead and pick this one up.
>> Oh, no. Let's go the middle one, I think.
It's nice and cold.
>> I found my deal, too.
>> Oh, really? Oh, that's another deal about the side by side. Speaking of, guys, we put the starter on. It doesn't work. So, I called the guy, told him what was going on. He told me what to do. Pull the starter off, try to turn the flywheel, and that would tell me everything. The flywheel w will not turn. It's in neutral.
>> Look at that.
>> So, that means that the cyberide is most likely locked up. Um, so if y'all know anybody that rebuilds sidebyside motors or any good mechanics in southern Oklahoma, please let me know because if you take it to the dealership, you might as well buy a brand new one. I did look a new motor for this is somewhere around $35 to $3,800, but hopefully we can find somebody to rebuild it. Um, talked to Leighton and Steph, they said it just stopped. They pulled up and it just died. Y'all got off to do something. Then y'all come back, it was dead.
>> And try to start it back up. It wouldn't start. So from if you know somebody in southern Oklahoma that can get it done quick and at a reasonable price, I don't mind paying a reasonable price. But when you take it to the dealership, I I don't know. It's just outrageous. So I I called down there to where we bought it, told him. And I was like, "Hey, um, and this will give you a hint right here." I said, "Hey, we bought a side beside from you a few years back. It's locked up. Wondering if there's a way to get into another one, a used one or a new one. And if we have to put this on top of the other one and they pretty much told me I'd be better off to try to sell it myself because the price they own will offer us, it won't be what we want." So much less. They offered us a 8 months after we uh bought it. Eight or nine months, I don't remember.
They offered us like $7,000 for it.
That's when we was going to go get a two-seater. Luckily, we didn't. But at the end of the day, everything happens for a reason. Um it just it trials errors, but we're going to get through it. It's been one of those weeks. And or should Never mind. I'm going to go on the bottom right here.
We stack this all here. And then maybe we come by and get the trash barrels.
We'll take that and dump it up.
All right.
Go ahead and pull this one up.
We'll let him pull that one up. Then we'll go ahead and get these on.
Heat up here.
Got to tilt it. Handle up.
Twist.
Twist. Drive. Twist.
Yep. I twist.
Yeah. That's one thing I don't like about these this small tractor here is it's so hard to line up the attachments on it. But for the longest time, I thought this was >> a back >> for the back.
>> That's what I thought.
>> But it wasn't. So, um I think what we'll do is we'll back this up here and we'll take the tractor down there and we'll load it, get in the truck, come up here, offload it, and go back down there and get metal. That way we ain't driving the tractor back and forth. Actually, we'll just go ahead and leave it right there.
Heat.
Heat.
just leave it open. Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
All right, we're going to run this up here real quick.
I actually like these seats. These seats are like they feel nice.
get up here the next I'll probably just leave you uh down up here with the other tractor. I don't know. We'll see.
>> I'm going have to make a weird turn up here.
>> You want me to stop?
>> No, you're good. Just keep going.
Keep on straight. All right. Now turn.
There you go.
Actually, uh, hold on. I think we're going to go ahead and move this hay all back there to that one spot.
Where does he want me? Oh, we're hooking them up to this one.
Heat. Heat.
Tell him to go back down there. Follow me over there to get diesel.
I'm hoping we got enough of diesel.
Let's see if I got any.
There's a little bit in there. Thank goodness.
So, we told y'all about Stevie passing.
We still have her baby, Spirit. And I know a lot of y'all probably want to know where Spirit is. Well, we'll show you here in just a little bit. Spirit stays up there at the house with us now.
And um he's he's doing really good. We feed him three times a day, sometimes four. Just depends on if he's hungry.
But um he didn't take a bottle, but he took a bowl. So, he's doing good. He's adjusting, which you know, he's most likely going through some depression and stuff because his mom is not there and he knows something's going on. And that's what was so hard in the video. I don't know how much I actually put in there. But it was so sad because he came over and laid beside his mama and that was what I was doing is just I wanted to be there for her that way she didn't pass alone and um just sad situation and we periodically talk about it because we miss her and um yeah so we'll show you spirit here in just a little bit. I'm going to take this back over here and then we'll go back to the field.
Next one. I'm going to probably leave up here and let him stack this.
um while I'm loading and bringing them back. So So here's the deal. He's never done that by himself. A lot of this is new to him, but you know, I want him to try.
Is is there a chance he could fail at it? Yes. But at the end of the day is when I was doing the farm work when I was younger, I mean, that's what they did. They just basically put me on the tractor and there I went.
I bet he Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
>> Uh, I need a gun. Uh, is that gun in my truck? I think I think uh uh Where's my phone? Where's your phone?
>> Uh, my phone's right here. Can't get it.
>> Oh, >> he's running faster. Where he is?
I got him right here.
>> Yeah, I got him right here. I don't know where my >> He's right here on this tire.
>> Where's he at?
>> He's right there on that tire.
>> Oh, he's still moving.
>> Where's he at?
>> He's up. I can see him in between the tire and >> Oh, I see him.
>> I see. Yeah. Hop out. Come.
It's a big filler right there. I got you, man. I'm playing. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
>> That's a big rattlesnake right there, boys and girls.
>> No good viewing.
>> Oh, I see it. Oh, come on out here, buddy.
>> Yeah, he's trying.
>> Hey, I will run. Oh. Oh, he getting defense mode.
Where are you going?
>> I'm I want to look.
>> Wait, so why did why did y'all have the sicide coming down here?
>> Because you have the truck and >> Oh, the the tractor's down here.
>> There it is right there, boys and girls.
How long is that? About five foot.
about four.
>> One, two, three.
>> I'm not going to ask you to do the variety test.
>> Four. Yeah, about 4 foot.
>> Maybe a little bit more.
>> About 5 foot. Get back to hauling hay.
What does that make? One, two, three.
What does that make? Bob for the year.
>> Snakes.
>> Yeah.
There's more hay down here than what I thought. There's going to be like 30 bales.
Yeah, we'll be able to feed it throughout the year. Don't have to go that far in there.
There's a strap. Try going pull up some more. Let me up first.
Hello.
Heat.
Heat. Heat.
We'll end up pulling up those fence post.
Yeah.
We're going to go to the goat by goat pin.
We'll just have to get this wire off of it when we get in there.
Is there any string on this one anymore?
Is there any string on this one?
No.
>> Okay.
Go over here and cut this string off.
>> Go ahead and start picking that rope up behind the trailer, son. We're not going to get that other hay today.
That's what I'm thinking.
Look at that little baby.
Are you a little kicker, too? Mama, can I see your baby? Mama?
Huh?
I want to see your baby.
Can I see it? I'm afraid you might try to kick me.
All right. Here we go. Here we go. Here we go.
Yeah.
There you go, buddy.
>> We just need to cut the body hair off.
It's a lot. She She kind of looks like a alpaca with her face.
>> Yeah, it does.
All right. So, I'm going to go ahead and drop this and then uh then I'm going to take all this. We're going to unload it and then we'll take you and show you Spirit. Spirit where Spirit's at and let y'all see her or let y'all see him. So, um the other hay will probably get that here in the next day or so. We got some plans this evening. So, we're going to go ahead and Yeah, that baby's getting big. We're going to go ahead and get everything uh fed and watered and uh we'll catch back up with you in a bit.
All right, guys. This is Spirit. Spirit is sleeping up here at the house. How you doing, buddy? Spirit.
We got a little shade over him. He's got his water and he's just laying there resting.
He is real active earlier. Around around lunchtime or dinner time, he'll be getting up and around, moving around.
Hey, buddy. How are you? Huh?
You doing okay?
Huh? You doing okay?
Oh, that's a big stretch. Look at that big stretch, huh?
Yeah, I know.
We sure do love you, buddy. You know what? We do. We sure do love you.
And I am so sorry about your mama.
I am so sorry.
I hate that you have to go through this.
I really do.
And I don't understand why.
I really don't. We just got a sheet over him keeping him in the shade. He's doing really good.
Um, our vet has came out and took a look at him and make sure everything was okay with him, which she seen him the day that we took uh him and his mama to the vet as well.
And uh she told us the best things to use to get him to drinking and making sure he stays healthy.
But we greatly appreciate y'all's love and support. And this is where Spirit's going to hang out for now. If I could get him in the house without him peeing everywhere, he'd probably stay in the garage. But unfortunately, well, I don't know. I might be able to get that big food uh that big water trough and put him inside there. I don't know. We'll see. We'll see. If we have to, we'll put him in there. or we may put him over there in that building there. So, anyways, but Spirit may be staying with us from here on out. Anyways, guys, I'm going to go in here and get something to drink. I'm trying to stay hydrated and uh we'll get ready to feed him. We'll what we may video a little bit of feeding him. All we do is put it in a bowl and he drinks his milk and he goes on about his way. All right, guys. So, we made it down here to the hatchery room and what we're going to be doing today, which here in a second, I've got to pack some orders for some eggs. So, after monitoring the birds, we've uh decided, me and Steph has decided that we are going to actually raise this up about 3 and 1/2 in and um kind of monitor that way. So, here's the deal.
At night time, you will see the birds.
They are at the very back because it gets cool in here. Um or it gets cold outside. In the daytime, they come out here and this is where they actually hang out close to here. So, um when a bird does get hot, uh when they do get hot, they they get away from the lamp.
When they get cold, they get closer to the lamp. If they're spread out away from each other, they're getting too hot. Um these right here, these are comfortable here. Um, so what we're going to do is go ahead and raise this up about 3 in. And we'll try that for a day or so. If we need to come up more, we will. Another thing that we've also talked about, and we may end up doing this, too. Um, we're going to bring this up. If it doesn't work, we will actually cut some of this out in the back. And we will just try to stick one light in between two of them. But that is going to be the last resort. So, we'll see what happens. So, that's what we're hoping that this is going to work. And um we're just going to play it by ear, but we'll monitor it very close. I know that um I'm hoping in the future that we can actually get some of those heater uh deals that um Breeze Farms has and um we can put them in there. But, you know, to get enough of them to put all in here, that's going to be pretty costly. And I know there's different things that you can actually get for them. They have those little table uh heater deals or flat deals they have at Tractor Supply.
Um those those ain't worth a flip. Um we tried them u when we had baby chicks in the other area, but we didn't have this many. Just the ones we had, it just didn't put off enough of heat to keep them warm. I guess if you probably only had 20 or 30 baby chicks, it'll probably work, but it doesn't work if you have several. Um, I think we tried it with the uh maybe as a quail. I don't remember. But we're going to go ahead and go in here and put these up and we'll see what happens.
All right. So, I don't know. I think I think I may try that right there. And um we'll go all the way across like that, which I've got the U heat lamp or I got our thermometer deal.
It's actually hanging inside here now.
That way it monitors the heat. If it gets over 93, it can actually come on and start drawing the heat out. Well, it's actually doing it right now. So, uh, we're going to see how this works. And like I say, all this is happening while we're here, so we can work out the kinks as we go. But really, I want to keep it about 95 through here will be a good for temperature for the babies in here right now. All right, guys. It's a little bit dark in here.
I'm not brave enough to work on this when it's live. So, I go ahead and just turn everything off.
All right, guys. I think uh that's all I'm going to do tonight. Um I'm going to monitor it a little bit more. Like I said, is the temperature is running about 86 in there right now. I really don't like that because that's really low.
But tomorrow it will heat up. But as long as uh long as things stay warm tonight, we shouldn't have a problem. Like I say, as um I'm going to most likely uh tomorrow or next day, we're going to go ahead and move cameras in here so we can monitor everything on on on the babies. As time goes on, if we figure out something that works better, we we'll do it. But as of right now, this is the way we're going to do it. And uh I know it probably ain't the way your grandma or grandpa, your daddy, or your mama done it. But hey, that's all right. This is the way we're going to do it. Um if you choose to go build your farm, go build it the way you would like. So um I'm hoping this will work. Um later on I do want to get those uh heaters. Um man, th those those things are amazing. You can attach them to the side and it just blows heat down. Obviously, there is a chance with the heat lens. It is, but you know, people's done it for years. Yes, there's been buildings and stuff burned down, but we're going to take all the precautions that we can as of right now.
This is what we got and this is this is how we got to operate. I think this is actually going to work to be honest. And u yeah, we're super excited about it.
The quill are jumping up. Um hopefully uh most of those guys will be leaving here in a couple days anyways. Whatever don't sell throughout the week here, we'll probably end up taking to an auction. Yeah, there's uh two or three auctions this week. So, we'll see. We'll just play it by ear and see what happens. So, we're going to go ahead and call it a
