Added:Hey everyone, Tesla Tom here with another FSD supervised video version 14.3.3 in our Tesla Model Y. Uh let's go for another drive and this time we're going to use Grock once again. Let's hold on to Grock. Uh navigate to Forestville, New South Wales and use Hampton Road on the way.

Maybe. Anyway, you can see on the thing anyway, isn't it on the um screen that it's broken? Should know better. All good. I generally try not to cross that broken line.
So, that little ding-dong you heard was the fact that there is a uh speed camera coming up.

Um there is like, you know, you see a raised raised divider there between the two. See there? It's a little bit to the right. Little bit to the right again.

It looked correct on the map. I just wanted to go like up up the uh next right turn because we've seen going up this Okay. I wanted to go up this way.
Uh, past the hospital, past Northshore Hospital.
It's funny when you're not actually like driving. I get to look at my surroundings a lot more.
Let's see which lane it takes. Will it take the left lane? No, it's going to take the far right because I guess that's fair. Um, the left lane once we turn there will be parked cars sometimes. I think the lanes merge eventually. See, there we go. So, I think that's the correct decision.
Probably would have done the same.
Um, we can see the the sun is beaming down on the on the road. So, there is some shadowing and um so it's a good test tip for it again under these conditions in bright sunlight.
People walking around, pedestrian crossing, slow cars. Good test. Good test.
I think most people will be none the wiser, right?
Yeah. I started some discussion a couple of videos ago about um about whether it's warranted putting like a blue light or some sort of indicator to tell people that this car is indeed running autonomously.
Yeah, mixed mixed reactions and that's understandable. Like places like China where you know I think it's a controversial thing to say. It's the population that potentially are more forgiving and more compliant with um with new tech. Whereas here in Australia like you know some people may not take too kindly to it and actually go out of their way to make life difficult for you if you're driving a car with a blue light autonomous lights just to show that you know let them know who's in charge. It's a bit ridiculous really.
But let's see. That's a hardish break, isn't it? Interesting. So, I wasn't sure what that guy was doing walking on the left.
Wonder why it didn't break the other day when the kid with the bike was riding across the path. Interesting, isn't it?
I guess in this situation, like there's a pedestrian crossing, so there's nowhere to go for this car, so it has to break. I guess that's part of the algorithm. Like, there's nowhere to go.
It has to break. Whereas the other day with the kid could have gone around, so it chose to go around rather than hard stop. But we know it can do an emergency stop just like that, right? So it can be done. Anyway, interesting decision- making process.
I think the speed limit here is 40. So it's appropriately going under that.
The pedestrian crossing here.
It's a nice gentle stop to it. makes people feel um comfortable and safe. The car is not going to, you know, do anything silly.
Interesting. So, the green light, but the pedestrian light was still red, but people were still crossing, but it didn't go yet until the last pedestrian cross. So, that's good. That's a safe thing to do.
I mean, this is a real life situation, right? This is not a lab. This is not AI.
I know like there's a lot of tech which I personally don't understand. Like I get the philosophy behind it and the and the the purpose, but I don't like I'm not a software engineer, so I don't know the complete ins and outs, but I I know that we need to test these quote unquote clinically in the sense that it needs to be working in real life. You know, you can explain all the tech you like, but it's got to work practically, right? So, I guess that's my purpose to show you that it does work or it doesn't work.
Test those edge cases.

Because both cars are approaching a round a speed bump. Luckily that white car is stopping. So all good. But if both cars are approaching, who gives way to each other?
All these edge cases that need to be tested and validated and verified.

I'm very curious as we get to uh Pencehurst Street because that's sometimes a tricky road to come out of turning left on the Pensurst.
So, I can feel my anxiety rising already cuz that road is tricky enough as it is for me driving manually.
I put my heart rate monitor on just to see what it's doing now cuz this this is a tricky junction at the best of times.

So, definitely gone higher. It's still riding very close to the right of the road for some reason.
Okay. So, this is the junction I'm referring to where it needs to make a a quick left. Um, that left, it's a double lane road. This this road, Pens Road, Pens Street, that left lane is blocked.
Okay, today is not bad because there's no car on the right. So, I mean, there you go. In fact, my heart rate stayed down. So, good. Fine.
No problem. Sometimes people turn right here. Uh and me as a human manual driver. I would would swung out a bit.

I'm not going to honk because someone in the last video went, "It's an offense to honk unnecessarily."
Say fine, I won't honk. Then you probably would have honked, right, watching this. You would have gone, "Now I'm going to honk." Especially in Sydney.

This is a high stakes green because it's very short. So, I think the car did pretty admirably. Would probably a little bit slower than I would have personally, but you know, good enough. I think good enough that more people got managed to to get out of that light as well. So, yep, it was a good citizen at the end of the day.
Still riding that right line of the lane marking bit more than I would.

This is luckily a quick quick light so I shouldn't be here too long.

Most people go at like 70 almost 80 at this point riding over the cat's eyes. It's really quite close to the right side of the lane as you can see here and here.

It's a good thing about um FSD and the the speed tracking it's you know because it's computer driven obviously it's just the acceleration deceleration is just smooth like butter whereas a human driver you'd be like stop starting stop starting trying to get that perfect speed but when it's computer driven it's just no problem can match the speed perfectly I suppose cruise control does that too some degree.
Let's see which way are we going? Right on Starky. Yeah, that's probably okay.
Right on Starky. Once we turn right on the Starky, then we will finish up for the day. No problem. It's been a good journey, hasn't it? Overall, pretty smooth.
