This analysis elegantly bridges classical expertise with pop sensibility, proving that the song’s enduring power lies in its sophisticated restraint. It transforms a familiar melody into a masterclass on how minimal structure can achieve maximum emotional depth.

The Beatles – Let It Be || This Song Feels Like PeaceAdded:
Hey guys, welcome to PCube where we watch and talk about music as classical musicians and welcome to another Friday.
Today we chose Beatles as our theme. We know that we released so many be videos recently, but honestly we couldn't pass and the suggestion uh and also we thought it would be a good idea to do another be song later on today. So, make sure you come back at 11:00 US Eastern time to watch our second video. This video is from Robert. So, thank you for your song request and for your support.
This is Let It Be. And honestly, uh, you guys have been commenting a lot about this song that we should definitely do that, we should definitely do that. But it's one of the songs that like everybody knows like so I was very reluctant to do it and I kind of like postponed it for so many months. Uh, but then after his request and after like listening to it one more time, I was like, "Okay, this is too good to to just pass on." So we can make kind of like a two video today and listen to another Beatles later on. So we're gonna do Let It Be even though we know the song and I feel like it's just but just so beautiful. I listened to the like the first like four measures of it in the piano. I was like, "Okay, there's no way we have to do it." Even though it's just like everybody knows it. But anyway, so that's our introduction to let you guys know that we're going to do Let It Be.
And this is the official music video that he sent us.
When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me, speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
And in my arm of darkness, she's standing right in front of me, speaking words of wisdom. Let it be.
Let it be. Let it be. Let it be.
Let it be.
Whisper words of wisdom. Let it be.
>> Let's just wait here. I know that like maybe pausing this song too much is like not a good idea, but at the same time, there is just so much to talk about. At least I have so much to talk that I feel like if I just like pile it up at the end, it's not going to be as fun. So, I apologize in advance, but I will probably pause a lot here. But uh I the the thing that really like captivates me every single time about this song is how simple the harmony is in the beginning, but it's just so so like haunting and so like catchy, attractive. I don't know. I don't I don't have good adjectives to to talk about. Like every time I look at it, this just oh C major and then it's just going from one six. I was actually looking at the chords 1 5 6 4 which is a very uh like a very usual chord progression for a pop song. But the way that he voices it and the way that he feels the gap instead of just playing jumping this is the chord progression.
The way he chooses to voice it and the way that he fills between the the beat.
So it's not you don't really feel any not a lot of space in between because he uses like passages and runs going in in and out. So it's just like I don't know like so simple but so haunting at the same. So that's just I think that's like what like steals all my attention every time that I listen to to this song. But then I think later on we're going to see all the layers that come like the moment the that George Harrison enters with that angelic back and vocal harmony.
It's like, "Oh my god. Oh my god. This is just this is just too good. I don't know how I don't know how to say like the perfect arrangement and the perfect like structure wise. I don't want to get ahead of myself, but I think because I mean everybody knows that you know what what's going to happen." But anyway, so I'm going to stop now uh for this and I'm going to keep everything else for later.
>> Words of wisdom. Let it be.
And when the brokenhearted people living in the world agree, there will be an answer. Let it be.
But though there may be part, there is still a chance that they will see. There will be an answer. Let it be.
Let it be. Let it be. Let it be. Let it be.
Yeah. There will be an answer. Let it be.
Let it be. Let it be. Let it be. Let it be.
Whisper words.
Let it be.
Okay, we should wait here before the organ. I want to say that special moment. Uh yeah, it's a good moment because u you could hear until now. I actually wanted to say something about the organ until now. Uh but I think we are going to uh hear a solo or something because I know this song and I've heard it definitely but not like actively sit like that. So it's kind of the first experience uh really like this for me for this song. First of all, aside from the music, as it was also written in the beginning, it's completely obvious that somebody very professional and with a very good taste uh made this music video and uh video had made all of these videos. First of all, the quality of the the cameras is so crazy. It's like a like watching a movie or something. It's like a a movie that the cameras that you use for making a movie or something. And the parts like the very closeups on people's faces or like when the drums wanted to start, they show the drum or like when they show like um the whole band. It's like the the very details like the it's a little smoke like a cigarette smoke or something is coming in the in one part of the uh the the scene is all like like it's a scene for a movie and I really really love how they edited and then the they did the like this movie but aside from that about the beautiful music it has so many different crazy good aspects to it, but until now I felt like a kind of holiness in it. And um I think aside from the lyrics, you could say that it comes from first of all this innocence feeling that you can get from the voice of the singer that it's like I don't know a child is um singing like that. It's it's it's coming from a child's language and I don't know also the voice quality it's so innocent and also the very um minimal and tiny bit of the backing vocals that you hear um with plus uh the combination between this and the organ that you you're also hear it in a very minimal uh amount and and with a long note and like that this com combination is so uh like not earthy and um it's it it's all combined together and it gives gives it like some very special uh kind of vibe and uh feeling into the whole uh song and by by details I think I want to listen more of it and then I I would go to Yeah.
Heat.
Let it be. Let it be.
Whisper words of wisdom. Let it be.
And when the night is cloudy, there is still a light that shines on me. Shine until tomorrow.
Let it be.
I wake up to the sound of music. Mother Mary comes to me speaking words of wisdom. Let it be.
Let it be. Let it be. Let it be. Let it be.
Heat.
Heat.
that last note.
So h it happened also once before when exactly before the like very short uh solo of the uh organ.
>> Mhm. Um, it's it's like it was one second, but it's so catchy that the piano just played like went lower and lower and then at the end he played a very low note and like very big and like I don't know it felt like like very big and then the other um instruments and also including the piano was silent for a second before the uh organ solo comes.
But because this because of this low big poofy note uh was played it you could hear still the resonance um and the continuous of it still in the silence when when it was silenced in your whole body and then it was ended exactly like this with the with the low uh big thing that it feels like I mean it's end it ended but still I can hear the music And it's it's the continuous it's still in me. I really really like it. And I think in general the fact that they used most of the times or at least the times that they want to have this effect in the lower parts of the piano was also very very suitable and matching for the whole warmth and like I don't know for the for the whole song. It was so perfect. And I love one thing I love about the Beatles songs is that it's not too long and it's everything is so compact. It's like when you take a course and you go the whole like the the whole course and then like last two or one session of the course is the preparation for the exam and it's like you'll get everything like the juice of everything completely compact in one session and you're like oh okay yeah that's the best session until now that I had. It's every time for me it's the Beatel songs because you get like very small like like this small solo part of the organ but it's so perfect that you're like it was completely enough. And then exactly after that the solo of the electric guitar and it was also not that long but it was perfect.
And so everything is completely compact together in the fullest and most perfect uh like um uh way of it so that you're like what have I heard in this last two uh three minutes. Um I I really really love how they >> compose and arrange their music. Yeah, I'm kind of honestly I said I I'm going to have a lot to say, but like when I heard this song, I'm just kind of speechless because of how good it was.
But I'll start with the fact that I love the fact as you said that everything is just so to the point, but just because you mentioned the the guitar solo, I love that solo guitar. It's kind of like showing off, but not in a flashy way.
But I also love the fact that it just kind of like reflecting on the theme that they heard on like before on the piano or on the vocals, but it's not actually like repeating that. It's like a different version of that, but it has like some elements to that. So, it's very very very pleasant to listen to, but also the way that it bridges that part back to like the vocals, that's also very interesting. I feel like with Beatles songs there is like the aside from all the creativity with like all the sound effects, how they like use certain instruments, how they create these harmonies and melodies. Um I feel like they're like the perfect architectures for songs. like the way that they think about everything arrangement wise and like what instruments to use and when to use them and then when is the best moment for that instrument to like enter or like I don't know like highlight or like I don't know have their moment and then kind of like going back the transitions like all these details like every time I listen to it it amazes me so much in a way that like I for example get amazed amazed when I listen to like I don't know a classical masterpiece that I I I think I admire them that much because I feel like again in classical music I mean obviously I'm so fond of it but also the more you know about the song and the more that you you pay attention to the details and you realize all those details that a composer thought about about like these tiny little moments if it's an opera like how they like interact with the lyrics or if it's just instruments, how the instruments are like interacting with each other. Like the more you analyze it and you kind of like realize how deep it is, the more you admire it.
And I think that's the same for me. The more I listen to the Beatles and the more I listen to like how structured their songs are and how every single minute or every single second is so well thought of. And I heard that you talked about this like holiness effect and then the feel the feel of kind of like spiritual feel that this song has. Uh even though I think Paul McCartney did not think about that. It's just like a personal experience. But I guess the lyrics kind of like resonate with a lot of people in different different ways.
Uh but I also love that the way that uh the phrases like the ver very very first verse and like the repetitions of that uh the melody is going mostly upwards. I mean with some like touches of like going back for like a word or two but it's mostly it just goes up and then it gets to a climax but then at the very end it kind of like comes back. So it creates kind of like a this moment every single verse. And I think uh it really again resonates and really matches perfectly with the meaning of the song, but also really like I don't know that it because it's spiritual but but also it's kind of like hopeful in a way that is just like you have to choose to just let it go or let it be. So it's just like not about giving up. It's about like, oh, I want to do that. I want to choose like to be like peaceful or like just like let go of the things that I have no control over. But I love that the music it kind of like reminded me of like uh the way that they would do it in the like the Middle Ages that they would kind of like uh picture every word and then they had the music based on that. So it kind of like really the crescendo that he was also was in his singing as well. the crescendo that he had both in the melody that was going actually up but also in his dynamics that he would crescendo and then just kind of close the phrases. It felt so so just fitting with the whole vibe of the song. And I love that there was like moments of space a little bit between um each verse that it would end.
Not necessarily long ones but then it would just for a moment for that to sit and kind of reflect. So it gave it kind of like a I don't know like like a I know that he didn't mean it to be like a like so much religion but religious but I feel like it also have like a hymn feel to it because in the hymns they the verses repeat kind of but with some changes but then there's instrumentals sometimes there's like the instruments get creative for example the organ like adds a lot of stuff in the when you're like in the second third or fourth verse of that hymn. So, it was it was interesting that it had that feel, but at the same time, it was so like I don't know. It was just so at the same time so many musical things that were just so genius. Yeah, exactly. As you said, it's uh just even the sentence let it be. It has this kind of sense of reliefness to it when you just stop controlling everything and stop this feeling that I have to control everything in the life and if the just a tiny little thing happens despite what you want uh it will it will like it's like the worst thing that can happen and you just try to control every little thing and uh like that. But if you just let it be like let the people be how they want and let the let your life be just happen how you how you how it wants to happen and you just enjoy it and just accept it first of all and just let everything be. you you will have this sense of relief and this peace in your life >> and just you just let it go and just it's everything everything would be so much easier and the the lyrics and the the meaning behind it plus how he sings it and plus the organ plus the backing cuz everything is just like they shook hand to just give you this uh message of just let it Yeah.
>> And in the perfect way and Yeah.
>> Yeah. That's true. It's just it's too perfect I feel like to talk about even though we talked for half an hour about it, >> but I feel like there's just so much more uh there is to be said, but we should probably wrap this video because we have another video coming in a few hours. So, thank you, Robert, for suggesting this song and finally making us do this song. And thank you guys for watching. Don't forget to come back in a little bit to watch our second video of the Beatles. Also, don't forget to like this video and subscribe to our channel if you haven't already.
