This video offers a refreshing, evidence-based challenge to the traditionalist obsession with solid wood in historic renovations. It effectively proves that modern engineered materials can be both practical and durable in demanding environments.

A BLUE Day At The Chateau!Added:
Heat. Heat.
Okay.
All right.
So quite a few people have um commented on using this furniture board for these doors and whether they warp or not. And yeah, it's it's a really good point because they do it does tend to to warp in different temperatures. However, this is the same board that we've used on a lot of different doors in property um that have now been up for six years that are fine. I'm just going to take you over to the shadow and just show you some of them.
Oh, by the way, somebody asked about the color. And uh it is I I really don't know how you pronounce this. Fjord fjord one. F J O R D1. Um it's Luxens. Luxons I find is a really really good paint. And as you can see by this door, I've done one coat and it's covered so well. I'll probably do a second coat and then I think it'll be fine.
Okay, we're in the JPS suite. the uh Jean Pierre suite and uh oh, lights on.
This wardrobe here, this was all made with the same furniture board. And as you can see, it's uh held up really well.
There's been no warping on any of those cupboards whatsoever, and they've been absolutely fine.
And there's another one over here. And uh yeah, they they've not moved at all.
So fingers crossed that will be fine.
This room during the winter, um the whole first floor during the winter, we don't open in the winter because it just takes too much electric to heat the place. So for the amount of bookings you'd get in the winter, you'd just end up opening up to pay the electric. So there's no point really um with all the balance and everything going. So we shut off the first floor during the winter.
So these these rooms are all going through their natural temperature if you like. And um and the fact that's held up, fingers crossed, it's fine. And um and that will work for over in the annex. Now, you can buy obviously other materials that are much better for um the temperature changes, humidity, and all that, but they are so expensive. Um so expensive. And the fact this is held up. Yeah. But like I say, only time will tell.
There you go.
Yeah.
Get me a screw.
You just got to twist them.
>> Yeah, >> you can't do that. You tried. No.
down.
So, cabinets are in. Well done, baby.
>> Thank you very much.
>> They look amazing. I love the blue.
>> Yeah, the blue is beautiful.
>> And with the black hinges, I love it.
>> All the black is really nice. Yeah. And for you guys that were a little skeptical whether coming in from the back door, the red and the blue, I'm just going to give you a picture now cuz I think it looks great.
>> I think it looks great as well. I think it's amazing.
>> Yeah.
>> And I'm going to be doing the um cabinet as you saw last week I started. I am getting through them. There's 14 drawers all individually being transferred on, painted on. So >> she's done a beautiful job.
>> I'm getting there. But that is going to incorporate red into it. So that will bring the red and the blue in together.
So um yeah, I hope anyway.
>> Oh no, it's fantastic. It's it's beautiful. It's colorful.
>> Now if you think >> some of the doors aren't closed properly, that's because we numpties forgot to get a magnet to go inside. So we'll be getting that this week so we can make sure the doors shut properly.
>> Shut. Yeah. Yeah, that'd be nice.
Anyway, um this week we're going to pick up the kitchen. We've had a text today.
So exciting from Joe and James to say that it's ready for the end of this week. So, we're going to go and collect that.
>> Fantastic.
>> And then there'll be more coverings to pretend to have to do.
>> But I think it will look amazing once you've got this and then you've got all the blue cabinets all the way around. I can't wait. I'm so excited.
>> Good. I'm glad for you. Don't forget everybody, like, subscribe, hype, all those things. And a big welcome to all of our new members. We have got loads of new members on the YouTube membership.
