Next weather maker comes in tomorrowAdded:
Now, WAAY 31 Storm Tracker Meteorologist [music] Amber Kulick with 31 Triple Doppler.
>> Go ahead. I don't know what to say.
>> Listen.
>> All this rain?
>> All this rain. That's all we can say.
It's all this rain.
>> Yep. Won't go away.
>> That's it.
>> The funny thing is how pretty it is in between the rain though. You can have a really nice day.
>> Yeah, I mean yesterday I got to go outside and enjoy some sunshine for the first time in what feels like forever, but I can tell you sunshine will be few and far between as we head into your Friday, Saturday. That's when our next weather maker rolls in. A very slow moving cold front, which means rain coverage, yeah. It picks back up. We're expecting summertime downpours here. Not expecting severe weather with this, but of course some more much needed rain across the area. Your weekend will not be a total loss. Saturday though, I can tell you will be much soggier than what we'll see on Sunday. So, if you're trying to pick a day to sit by the pool and enjoy that outdoor time, definitely say Sunday would be the best day of the weekend. Little cooler in those upper 70s for highs as well, and our humidity levels will start to drop by then. But, if you're really looking for a day to spend some time outdoors with no rain chances, you won't have to wait much longer. Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, there you go. 0% chance of rain. Finally, it feels like forever since we've been able to say that. Rain chances will start to go up by the end of next week, and again, that is a week away. So, there's still questions around that. Keep checking back as we get a little closer. Over the next week here, we are still going to pick up 1 to 2 inches of rain across the Tennessee Valley, and where we see those localized heavy downpours, we could pick up upwards of 3 inches of rain. Now, all of that all it's going to do is help the ongoing drought. Now, this is the Drought Monitor that was updated last Thursday. We'll get an update to this in just a few hours, and I do expect it to look quite different with all the rain that we have seen lately. Here's what we have going on across the United States this morning. We've got that cold front to our north. That's the one that will sag south and bring us the rain chances as we head towards tomorrow and Saturday. Right now though, 31 triple Doppler quiet and dry as we head through the next few hours here, we will remain dry. But by 3:00 this afternoon, there you go. Peak heating of the day, we start to see those showers and storms pop up. And notice, not everyone will see the rain today. Some of us will get that sunshine and no rainfall, but that is going to change tomorrow. 6:00 a.m. on your Friday, we are already seeing showers and thunderstorms popping up, and rain chances will be with us throughout the day, becoming more widespread as we head towards the evening hours. So, any plans you have for your Friday evening, pack the rain gear with you because you will need it. Temperatures this morning in the upper 60s to lower 70s as you get ready to start your day. We'll be in those lower 80s already by 11:00 a.m.
Middle to upper 80s for your afternoon highs today. Slightly cooler for some of you over towards Sand Mountain, but all of us will be warm, all of us will be muggy, and all of us will have that chance of a few isolated showers and thunderstorms. Here's your 10-day forecast. Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, that's where my eyes go to because there's no rain chances. Temperatures in the lower 80s, humidity levels will be lower by then as well. Great days to get outside and enjoy it. But until we get there, couple more days of rain in the forecast.
