Delhi court grants bail to IPAC director Vinesh Chandel a day after WB pollsAdded:
Sir, today Vinay Chandele's bail application has been allowed by the Delhi Patiala House Court. What were the submissions and what transpired in the court today? We filed a regular bail a few days back and ED was supposed to file a reply. So, yesterday they filed a reply and they gave no objection for grant of bail.
Primarily on the ground that he has cooperated with the investigating agency and he has given voluntary and purposeful cooperation. That is the language used by them. And he have And he has also provided information and other data which they required during investigation. So, statement was recorded of the investigating officer.
No objection was given. Some conditions have been imposed on him. And then he has been on the conditions that have been imposed.
>> Conditions, these are generic conditions that he will cooperate with the investigating agency, come and join whenever he's called. He will not leave the country without permission of the court and he will not he will not influence the witnesses. These are general conditions which are normally imposed on bail. Sir, a follow-up a day after the West Bengal polling has ended, this has happened where the ED has given no objection to the regular bail condition regular bail that application that was moved by Vinay. How do you see this that has transpired?
I don't know. 17 days in custody, he was arrested on 13, 10 days of police custody, now bail was filed and he has been granted. Maybe a coincidence, may not be. I don't want to comment on that.
But yes, the bail has been granted on the day when the election process is completed, voting has happened. That's correct.
