The Heroes of the Backyard Retrospective...(are they good?)

[00:00:00]Heroes of the Backyard is Tone Prince's attempt at superheroes. Not only are they the most popular videos on his channel, but each one always has consistent hype about it. But are these videos actually good? Well, today we'll be finding out. I have every single Heroes of the Backyard video on this list, and we will be ranking them from worst to best. And whichever video is the greatest will be ranked in the super category. So, it's a pretty big deal.

[00:00:25]So, without further ado, let's take a look at every Heroes of the Backyard if these stories were actually good or were just random or a farming.

[00:00:39]No better way than to start with the original. Releasing on July 14th, 2023, this video came during a time where 20-minute videos were not normal for the channel. Oh, how times have changed.

[00:00:52]Also, while I can't provide footage, I do remember him hyping this video up with daily posts of each superhero's design. So, already this was a big deal.

[00:01:02]So, let's press play and check this video out. The video starts with a cold open with our two main villains, the Lord of Destruction who has elemental powers and the Mind Slayer who has mind control. Both discuss their plans to take over the world, but eventually agree to start small by taking over Richard's backyard pool. Hence, the name Villains of the Backyard. We then cut to the Heroes of the Backyard, Captain Invincible with super strength, Shapeshifter who can shapeshift, and Mirror Master who can duplicate himself.

[00:01:32]These three work together to stop another villain named the Speedster with super speed. Eventually, they manage to stop him with the good show of each of their powers, but unfortunately, he manages to get away. Luckily, they still get Grandma's purse which he tried to steal. But that doesn't matter since Mirror Master complains that the group is too weak. Shapeshifter cannot use his powers properly. They never managed to catch the villain, and they aren't a very good team. And then, barely 5 minutes after their introduction, the group separates. Yeah, just like that.

[00:02:04]Anyways, sometime later, we cut to Kevin getting a call from Richard. He asks for Kevin to stop the villains of the backyard from taking over his backyard.

[00:02:13]Kevin agrees, but decides to go by himself, still salty from the group breakup. So, let's hope he can win against these two. Kevin is defeated and captured.

[00:02:23]One quick thing to note, Richard and everyone in this video say that this superpower thing is a game and imply that the powers aren't actually real.

[00:02:32]But, you'll slowly see that as the videos continue on, these powers will turn into real powers with no explanation at all. Just a silly thing to point out. Anyways, with the failure of Kevin, Richard calls Tone and asks him to help. Tone then goes to Billy and convinces him to join. The both then work together to defeat the villains, but yet again fail. Each of them are then forced to jump into the pool of doom, which when submerged takes away your superpowers. Luckily, before this happens, a mysterious force pushes both villains into the pool, causing them to lose their powers. This mysterious force turns out to be Richard.

[00:03:10]Oh, wait. I got that wrong. I meant team Richard, who has the power of invisibility. The video ends with the heroes of the backyard joining back together and learning that teamwork is the dream. Okay, so now, while that recap was quick, this video is actually really solid. Let's get the pros out of the way first. This is a great introduction to each character's superpowers and how they work. And you can clearly tell this video had a lot of passion put towards it. It actually feels like a mini short film with its story and development. Now, onto the negatives. I alluded to this earlier, but having our introduction be the characters splitting up makes no sense.

[00:03:51]A storyline like that would usually be in the second or third part of the series, not the introduction. I get that tone friends just wanted to get straight to the point, but it still feels weird.

[00:04:02]I also find it weird that the resolution to the split up just happens out of nowhere. It just randomly happens and isn't really addressed in a grand way.

[00:04:11]Some other issues are the whole pool situation. There was no build up to it at all and just felt like an underhanded twist. If we had built up to the reveal that it could take powers, I feel like it would have given more stakes and made the story better. Other than that, my only other negative would be the inclusion of Richard. It was pretty cool to see him actually stop the villains, but I just kind of wished we actually saw our main trio fight back instead of losing their first introduction. This video gets higher regards since it is the original introduction, but even then, it still is a well-made story and somewhat rewatchable. So, for our tier list, I'll give it a solid A. Good intro- duction, solid story.

[00:04:53]But wait, I forgot to mention there's a post-credit scene. At the end, we see a brief glimpse of somebody taking hold of Danny the shark, an evil shark puppet.

[00:05:02]So, this means the next video will be about stopping Danny, right? I mean, it only makes sense, right?

[00:05:12]Instead of that, we get a Halloween special released on October 13th, 2023.

[00:05:17]This was a special Halloween sequel to the original. This video also happens to be the last Hot Pie video with a self-contained story. Since after this, things get real serious with lots of lore. We begin with the Speedster outside of a temple. Remember him?

[00:05:33]Anyways, this temple is inside Richard's backyard and inside this temple is a mystical object known as the Pumpkin of Power. This pumpkin can both give you powers and control people to become your servant. Speedster wants to get it so the villains of the backyard can regain their powers. He hopes that by doing this, he can get a spot in the team.

[00:05:54]Now, why is a random temple with a powerful object outside Richard's backyard? Who knows? It doesn't matter though since Richard comes in trying to interfere. Or sorry, I meant beat Richard. In a struggle, Trevor then uses the pumpkin on Richard causing him to be controlled and turn into a servant for Trevor. Then at Kevin's backyard, all the villains meet to use the pumpkin.

[00:06:17]Fortunately, the heroes of the backyard come just in time to stop them and they even pull up with brand new fits.

[00:06:23]Anyways, a large fight ensues but at the end, the Lord of Destruction uses the pumpkin and gains back his powers. And instead of sharing it to Mind Slayer, he decides to control him with the pumpkin which is another level of evil. With the pumpkin, Lord of Destruction controls practically everyone except for Captain Invincible and he retreats as Kevin gains control of his goofy looking servants. Back with Tone, he decides to team up with Little Johnny in a plan to destroy the pumpkin. At night, Tone fights off the servants while Little Johnny sneaks up and uses the pumpkin to give himself powers. Little Johnny or Gigantosaurus Rex if you want to be specific, who has the powers of size manipulation, Little Johnny then turns huge and breaks the pumpkin freeing everybody from the curse. Problem solved. Except Little Johnny reveals that his shark puppet Danny is actually missing. And if anybody gets hold of him, it'd be an issue since he's the most dangerous and powerful shark puppet. This in turns causes the villains to begin their hunt for the shark while the heroes decide they need to eliminate the shark. And that's pretty much it. Was this video actually good? Let's check our positives and negatives. For positives, even though this is a Halloween special, I still like the continuation of lore with the progression of Little Johnny's powers and Evan gaining back his powers, I also think the story as a whole is also pretty solid and fun. I'm also happy we get to spend more time with the heroes and actually see their dynamic. It's also great that Speedster gets a role in this one contrasting his cameo appearance in the first. So overall, I'm glad that this adventure is enjoyable, but at the same time, this video is definitely the most average out of every other Heroes of the Backyard. Not to say that's kind of bad, but it's meh.

[00:08:14]Compared to other videos, this story seems to be the most forgettable. First of all, our resolution is solved way too quickly. I think the stakes would have been better if we really gave some time between Evan taking over and his eventual defeat. The first 15 minutes follow them fighting and then the next five minutes give the resolution. It's a lackluster defeat considering how easy it was to actually defeat him. Another small issue I have is that the villains never actually get mad over Evan taking control of them. Wouldn't it have been cool to see the villains leave Evan behind? If we followed his storyline of Evan acting like a lone wolf, it would have made his future betrayal in more stronger. But oh well, the pumpkin for what it was was a very solid plot device. But part of me hopes we got to explore the pumpkin more and about its lore. It just kind of exists in the story for no reason and then gets destroyed never to be seen again. My final problem with this video is that its placement makes absolutely no sense.

[00:09:13]Little Johnny says that Danny is dangerous and could cause trouble, but only some videos later we get Nerf Wars 5 which follows Little Johnny with the shark puppet, which makes no sense since it was only after Nerf Wars 5 did Little Johnny realize Danny was evil. Overall, Heroes of the Backyard 2 achieves its purpose as a solid enjoyable story, but it doesn't leave off a meaningful impact. I think the best spot to put it is in the B tier.

[00:09:41]While everyone begins their search for the shark puppet, it is revealed where he is located. At the end of the first episode, we see a hand taking the puppet away. And at the end of this episode, it is shown that it was none other than Tone's mom who took the shark puppet, leading us into hero After two videos teasing the dangers of Danny, we finally get to see how powerful he really is. Releasing on April 19th, 2024, The Shark of Destruction follows the heroes and villains in pursuit of the dangerous shark puppet before he reunites with his master. Let's see if this video can make a meaningful impact. Also, as of writing this video, I'm going to switch the way I review these. Instead of giving all my positives and negatives at the end, I'm going to do it along the way. The video begins with the villains discussing their plans to find the shark, while also showing Mind Slayer getting back his powers with a new device. And oh yeah, Travers is in the team now. For what this 2-minute sequence offers, it isn't really much for a cold open. I'd say so far, this is the weakest cold open we have seen, simply due to the fact that nothing major happens. This sequence can easily be removed and nothing will change. We could have just had one of the heroes asking about Ned's device and him explaining that it's his new way of working his powers. I think I would have preferred that more than whatever this is. Anyways, we cut to the heroes beginning their search for the shark. And oh yeah, oh Johnny's on the team now. Two team additions today, huh?

[00:11:14]Unfortunately, the villains also just so happen to be at the same place, and a big fight ensues. When it is confirmed that Danny is not in the house, both teams move on to the next area. Due to all the fighting, the parents of the house, Leven and Tone's mom, get upset.

[00:11:30]But Tone's mom soon realizes that the kids are looking for Danny, who is in her possession. I think at this point it is safe to say that Danny has already manipulated Tone's mom towards the dark side. The teams then visit grandma's house, which similar to the previous, makes a huge mess of. When confirmed Danny is not in there, they move on to the next house. When grandma sees the giant mess, she gets upset. The teams then visit Devin's house, which similar to the previous, makes a huge mess of.

[00:11:59]When confirmed Danny is not in there, they move on to the next house. When Devin sees the giant mess, he gets upset. Did you notice what I did there?

[00:12:07]I repeated the exact same lines, only changing the adult between grandma and Devin. While both sequences are not too long, they still are repetitive. Sure, you get some light comedic moments, but there is nothing different or interesting between them. These sequences serve the goal of getting the adults angry so that they could eventually turn into villains. I think there would have been a better way to improve this. Since this is played as a cat and mouse chase, we should have had moments where we see Danny at each house trying to run off, eventually reaching Tone's house. It would have made things a bit more interesting and raised the stakes, considering this shark puppet is the most dangerous thing here. So, we reach Tone's house and both the heroes and villains don't know where he is. All of the sudden, Tone's mom shows up with the shark puppet in her hand. Before they have time to react, she uses a power to make them all unconscious and perceive an alternative reality where they have no powers. Now, both heroes and villains are unconscious, not being able to fight. Meanwhile, all the adults group together to discuss the kids ruining their houses. But, Tone's mom, now fully turned into evil, uses this chance to manipulate them all. Each adult is convinced to take Danny's powerful shark gummies, which just so happens to be from Favorite Day, the personal brand from Target. I guess Danny's the owner of Target. Anyways, these gummies allow you to gain powers for a short period of time. With each adult eating one, they gain their own powers. Grandma or the screecher gains supersonic screaming. Leven or the copycat can copy other people's powers.

[00:13:43]Devin or flower power can control plants. And Tone's mom or the sorceress who is mentioned can warp reality. All of them together create the parents of the front yard. Jeez, they need to come up with better names. Now, before we continue on, we need to address another inconsistency this video has. According to Danny, these shark gummies can only give you your powers for a short period of time. But I guess Danny was tripping because after this, there is not one single instance of their powers running out. Also considering how overpowered these gummies are, we never really see them again. Back to the Backyardians over here, they are still unconscious.

[00:14:23]But luckily, one person manages to wake them up with a classic Star Wars joke.

[00:14:27]This person is none other You already know who it is. B, Richard. With the group together, they go outside to stop the parents from transporting Danny to his master. From here on out, we get to see the parents figure out and use their powers. This fight though doesn't last much long since Danny manages to I'm sorry. He drives the car by himself.

[00:14:49]This is a shark puppet with no feet or hands. But I think the worst part about all this is that Speedster the guy whose entire purpose is to run super duper fast couldn't catch up to him. Yeah, the fastest guy in the world couldn't catch up to a car driven by a footless shark puppet who at best could steer it at the max rate of 10 mph. It would have been slightly better if the Speedster was fully trapped in the vines and couldn't get out. But in this moment, he had the chance and he failed.

[00:15:23]>> And I mean this from the bottom of my heart, y'all are trash.

[00:15:27]Like y'all are so trash. I want you to know that I'm talking to you, so I'm going to say your name. Then I'mma call you trash.

[00:15:35]>> Speedster.

[00:15:36]>> You trash.

[00:15:37]>> The video ends with Danny escaping.

[00:15:40]While the villains and heroes technically meet a tie, Danny goes on to visit his true master. That being Mr. Raleighworth. From then on, it's very clear where this is going. It's time to defeat Mr. Raleighworth. But first, monster in the closet. So yeah, we have another issue of time consistency here.

[00:15:58]Since after Heroes 3, we just continue on as if nothing happened. The parents go back to normal. The guy stopped chasing the shark. And it's only until we reach the fourth video where the parents and group lock in again. Either way, with all the problems this video has, it is still pretty good. We continue getting advancements and stakes into the story, and it is a solid execution of what has been built up these past two videos. Though unfortunately, the parents as they are aren't entertaining villains. And Danny is barely in the video to give off his maniacal charm. The general chase towards Danny also felt a bit lackluster. Again, it's my opinion only.

[00:16:37]I'm going to put this video into D tier.

[00:16:40]It's unfortunate, but fair for what this video contributes.

[00:16:44]Now, let's watch the first part of what is considered one of Tone French's biggest events ever. The double package of Heroes of the Backyard 4 and 5.

[00:16:54]Following one singular story against Mr. Raleighworth. So grab your popcorn and let's get started.

[00:17:04]Look at that. We're halfway there, and I'm already realizing this video will be my longest yet. Heroes of the Backyard 4: The Guardians of Time follows the heroes and villains working together to defeat Mr. Raleighworth and Danny the Shark. Releasing on August 30th, 2024, let's see if this video truly lives up to the hype. The video begins with the villains of the backyard outside of Mr. Raleighworth's house, on which they suspect Danny is inside. And in a twist no one saw coming, everyone except for Speedster gets caught in what can only be described as an elaborate trap.

[00:17:39]Contrasting the previous opening, it is good that this one is pretty short. It serves its purpose as in showing the main driving force for the heroes before the plans change. Though, I do wish we got more foreshadowing here for Evan's eventual betrayal. I'll build upon this idea later. The Speedster gets to the heroes where he alerts them of the villains' kidnapping. He also makes it clear that it's obvious Mr. Raleighworth and Danny are working together. Now, Tone says here that Mr. Raleighworth and Danny are the two most evil people in the world. Now, my only confusion here is how they decided Raleighworth was evil. I mean, before all this, this dude's just a strict teacher who likes people to massage their feet.

[00:18:23]Still S Tier by the way, the heroes decide to join along, but they need someone to help them break in.

[00:18:28]>> Sounds like we're going to need someone who's a professional at breaking into houses. Oh, yeah. I'll call up the Richard. I can't believe we're >> Oh, yeah, that was my cue. The Richard.

[00:18:41]With the group all together, they break into the house to look for Mind Slayer and Lord of Destruction. But it turns out that Mr. Raleighworth and Danny planned this all along. That's because when the heroes try to look for the villains, the parents of the front yard return to defeat them and lock them in the basement. I think for what it is, these fight scenes were decent. It's good that these weren't extended or dragged out. They followed that quick pace to really show how easily the heroes get defeated. Though, the only two left are Little Johnny and Richard.

[00:19:13]And it's not like they just magically stumble upon the basement do that. Oh, I see. Wow, that was easy. When they get inside, they see everyone there including Mind Slayer and Lord of Destruction. Except Lord of Destruction is secretly evil. Mind Slayer reveals that Lord of Destruction has been working with the villains for a long time, which would make sense of his collaboration with Danny in Nerf Wars 6.

[00:19:37]This entire thing was a setup for all of them to get trapped in this basement that just so happens to drain your powers. Now, why would the Lord of Destruction betray everyone?

[00:19:48]Because he wanted to be evil. His reasoning is that because the villains wanted to take over the world, he decided to work together with them. Does this fit in with his character? Yes. Is this also a lackluster way to reveal a betrayal? Also, yes. There was not enough foreshadowing for this to work, or at least the foreshadowing wasn't effective enough. And this is such a lazy reason for his character. Let's go back to what I said in Heroes of the Backyard 2. If we had the villains leave him behind for essentially failing as a leader, this would have made more sense.

[00:20:21]Evan would have been completely isolated as a villain. He would be addicted to the shark puppet and easily be manipulated by Mr. Rallyworth. Here, it just makes Evan stupid because giving one thought to this plan would have made him realize this would hurt the people he cared about. And it's only until the end when he realizes that. But, that aside, Evan leaves the group behind stuck in the basement. Now, they have no way to escape. Oh, there's an escape door right there. Ned cannot escape the fraud allegations now. So, that was a decent first half. But, now we reach into the second half where things actually get awesome. Mr. Rallyworth decides it's finally time to reveal the truth, for which he reveals himself as the Time Tinkerer, where with his watch of wonder, he can control time itself.

[00:21:07]Which, by itself, is an interesting concept. He then goes on a classic monologue on how he wants to use the watch to take over the world. Now, Rallyworth is the definition of evil for the sake of it, which is usually a petty overused and bland use of an evil character, but I think it works for Rallyworth's favor since he is clearly a representation of that classic villain trope. He is an exaggeration of the best parts of it, which is good overall.

[00:21:35]But, right before he could use the watch, Richard steals the watch and makes a run for it. We then get a fun scene of the watch being tossed around like a hot potato game between the heroes and villains. And while I enjoy this part, I have a slight dislike towards the fact it is Billy who messes up in giving the watch to Rallyworth.

[00:21:54]Like, come on, my boy is smarter than that. With the watch in his hands, the heroes try to fight him all together, but are then rewinded back due to the watch. This is a great use of Stanks added in here. Since for the first time in these episodes, you can truly feel a sense of desperation for the cast. And in what can only be considered top five moments of the channel, we see every member of the group disappear and be forced to go back in time before they met. Evan soon realizes the issue and turns good again as he manages to break the watch right before he disappears.

[00:22:28]While I just hated on Evan's betrayal, I do like this redemption he has. The video ends with our main group gone, the villains left behind, and the watch of wonder was broken. This is a great part one to our Time Tinkerer package here, especially with this ending which leaves a lot to be desired. I think the only problem with this video is its first half, which lacks good setup and isn't that great compared to the second. But, after three episodes, we finally have our best one so far. The Guardians of Time goes in S tier.

[00:23:01]Now, that ending leaves all the heavy lifting up for Heroes 5. So, let's see if part two can deliver on this madness.

[00:23:12]This video was a fumble. Yeah, I'm telling you straight on. Releasing on September 6th, 2024, a week after the fourth one, the second part of this saga takes a wonderfully built-up concept and ruins it. So, let's see how. We get a quick cold open showing the consequences of the previous video. Mr. Rallyworth cannot fix the watch after Evan broke it, and all the parents don't remember their kids, which by itself is a weird concept since the kids were taken back into time. So, the adults still had the kids. But, let's ignore all that mumbo jumbo since time in general is a confusing concept to execute. The main problem here, and for the whole video in fact, is that Mr. Rallyworth is mostly not a threat anymore. He sends the kids back in time and is just done. I get that Evan broke the watch, and I still believe that was a good decision, but I wouldn't be lying if I said this caused a major impact on the stakes here. We then cut to Tone waking up in the middle of his school cafeteria. Now, we're getting to the exciting part. Since all the characters don't know each other, it's going to be exciting slowly getting back together, right? What's that? All the characters just so happen to conventionally be at the same exact area? Well, okay. It's not like they all are immediately going to get together and meet at a certain time, right?

[00:24:31]What's that? They do exactly that? They only together at Billy's house because they feel a weird sense of energy towards each other. After seeing Danny and hearing the words Rallyworth, they gain more curiosity and decide to break into Mr. Rallyworth's house and tie him with rope for questioning. And they just so happen to gain their powers and superhero suits during this process. No explanation, it just randomly happens. I don't even know why they decide to wear the superhero suits anyway. With Mr. Raleighworth tied up, they manage to get hold of the watch of wonder, for which they use it to go back to the future, and they now suddenly remember everything and are back in Raleighworth's backyard.

[00:25:13]It all happens so conveniently. Even from the start, the group is already at the same place. This is a prime example of building up stakes and then ruining it. You had a set up of the group being separated. Give it some time to marinate. Don't just immediately resolve it. We're already 17 minutes into the video with about 7 minutes left to resolve everything. Hopefully, the final battle is exciting and thrilling, and Mr. Raleighworth is defeated in less than 3 minutes. The heroes return to the present with all their memories back.

[00:25:46]The parents also get their memories back. Raleighworth comes out happy that they're returned and has Danny steal the watch from them. But before he could do anything, Little Johnny takes back the watch and throws it into the pool along with Danny. Raleighworth jumps in to try to save it, but the water from the pool causes the watch to explode. With Mr. Raleighworth dying and evaporating to thin air. This is another top 10 moment from the series due to its dark themes.

[00:26:12]But again, we need to remember that this all happened in less than 3 minutes. I also don't feel any stakes here. In this entire video, Raleighworth couldn't do anything. And only at the end, where the group manages to come back, does he take that chance to steal the watch they used. It's not like he was expecting them to come back anyway. Also, even though Danny was thrown into the pool, he's still alive somehow. I mean, at that point, why throw him anyway? Part of me wishes Danny was killed off along with Raleighworth during that explosion.

[00:26:42]I feel like it would have perfectly ended his saga, leaving behind past Danny to take on his work. Oh, wait.

[00:26:49]Past Danny. So, it turns out whenever the group went back to the future, the Danny that was with them came along. So, when everyone leaves, the past Danny and the present Danny decide to make a truce to get revenge. As you can see, I clearly dislike this entry to Heroes of the Backyard. It feels almost rushed and fails to follow through with the ending previously. But, even with all these negatives, this finale to the Raleigh Worth saga is still a decent finale. It follows through on plot points from the previous and ends it off. Along with that, the themes and concepts in this video make perfect sense. The group getting back together due to their bond, them connecting from their weird memories of Raleigh Worth. Raleigh Worth died because of himself. It's all such good concepts that are executed poorly.

[00:27:37]So, let's do something different. Here's what I do if I wrote Heroes of the Backyard 5 with the similar themes and concepts, but also keeping the same lore that follows. Right off the bat, the first change we'll make is having Raleigh Worth actually fix the watch and start his time traveling. Now, you may be wondering >> Doesn't this dismiss Evan's redeeming actions?

[00:27:58]>> Actually, no. And you'll see later on how Evan's actions impact Raleigh Worth.

[00:28:02]The next change we'll make is instead of having the group meet at the same time.

[00:28:07]They meet each other one by one. We could start at Tone's house as we follow Tone meeting Billy, then Kevin, then Evan, and so on. What drives them to work together is two things. The obvious one is that they feel like they remember each other. But, the second more fun thing is about Raleigh Worth. See, with Raleigh Worth having fixed his watch, he has already started going back in time and taking over everything. Instead of Billy eating regular Pizza Hut, he could be eating from Raleigh Worth pizza.

[00:28:35]Instead of Tone's mom driving her run-down car, she's actually driving Raleigh Worth rollers. In the middle of class, the kids are learning about Mount Rushmore. Then out of nowhere, it switches to Mount Rallyworth. You see how cool of a concept that is, and it doesn't even require work to really edit all that. Eventually, the group meets together, and with the past, Danny gets to Rallyworth. The kids also wear superhero costumes, I guess, but they don't gain their powers. Instead, we get through a similar sequence where they gain the watch and go back to the future. And it is only then when they gain their powers back, I guess. But, in the present, they see all the parents beaten down. The parents explain that they tried to fight back, but failed, and says that the group must use the watch they have to defeat Rallyworth.

[00:29:22]So, the group goes back or forward in time and finds Rallyworth doing something, I guess. But, when Rallyworth tries to use the watch on them, he realizes that since they also have the watch, both groups cannot use the watch against each other. So, it's a race in time as Rallyworth tries to escape with the group following. Prehistoric, distorted future, famous monuments. We can just have a green screen for those parts, but it'll still have the same effect. Finally, they reach back to the original spot. Rallyworth goes absolutely crazy and says that he'll use the watch to destroy the world. But, before he could continue, the watch exploded onto him, killing him. Turns out that when Evan broke the watch, it couldn't be fixed. But, because of Rallyworth's impatience to take over the world, he fixed it back too quickly and in turn destroyed himself. With the watch destroyed, all actions caused by Rallyworth are now reversed. The group still has the past watch. Past Danny still gets to present Danny, and we still keep the core themes and concepts.

[00:30:25]But, unfortunately, that didn't happen.

[00:30:27]Heroes 5 is a missed potential, but a decent finale. It goes into C tier.

[00:30:34]Fast forward many episodes later, we got a new member of the group. Rallyworth is now a ghost, and a mysterious entity has kidnapped all the parents of the kids.

[00:30:44]This mysterious entity begins their attack with our next entry of the series.

[00:30:53]This entry into the series begins a slight shift, as it's the first to both focus on a huge battle, but also make character development along with it.

[00:31:02]Releasing on April 4th, 2025, even Tone Prints himself considers this as his favorite so far. So, is it any good?

[00:31:10]Let's find out. The video begins with the villains of the backyard back in action stealing some LEGOs from Billy.

[00:31:17]With them is Terrence, who wants to join the crew, but soon realizes he has no powers. Eventually, the heroes come in to fight the villains, who are confused as to why out of all times, now is when they return. The villains admit that since their parents are away, they can do whatever they want. Eventually, after a fight, the heroes end up letting the villains get away. Upset at the fact that now the villains have four members with the inclusion of Terrence, while they only have three. One of them remembers Little Johnny, who is currently at a new house in the story.

[00:31:48]The group decides to call him, but is greeted by a masked person saying Little Johnny will never be able to see them again. The heroes get suspicious and connect the dots that maybe they should investigate the disappearance of their parents, and maybe the man over the phone has something to do with it. They decide that they should try and go to the adults remaining in the town to make sure they're okay. And that's our opening scene. So, I'll say that it's great to see some classic villain versus hero battles again. Considering it's been a long time since we've seen that.

[00:32:17]Though, as much as this is a back to basics opening, I'd much rather prefer something that would build up our main villain more. also can't lie when I say this is quite a lame way to have our heroes begin their investigation. There was no reason for the masked man to even pick up the call anyway, and it feels kind of convenient that he did. Since without that call, the heroes would have truly begun investigating the parents anyways. Remember the two Danny's?

[00:32:41]They're now back working for the mystery man. They report to the man that the heroes have begun their search. The figure then decides to set their plan in motion. Now, considering the motivations later revealed for this figure, I find it strange that it is only after the heroes begin their search does he ever begin his plan. I mean, he could have done it any other time, but I guess now is when he wants to do it. Cut back to the villains inside the basement where Terrence, or the skull of wonder, tries to get recruited. Though unfortunately, he is denied since he has no powers. Of course, Terrence didn't account for that since he didn't know they had real powers. Remember all the way back to Heroes 1 where I said the idea of this all being a game has changed. Yeah, you can fully see that now. Even Ned points this out in a self-aware joke. Their powers are activated when they wear their suits. You can either activate your powers by using the pumpkin of power, build powers of your own, or simply earn your powers. I find all this weird since if we're following this logic, then how did the mystery man earn his powers? What's ever, essentially what they're trying to say is that Terrence has no way of getting his powers. Therefore, he's out of the team.

[00:33:51]So, this is the start of a character arc for Terrence who along with the plot of the mystery man is essentially the main character of the story. We'll talk more about his character later as right now there seems to be someone inside Billy's house. Yeah, the mystery man has already begun his attack and he reveals himself as the dark shadow. Billy was at his house because he wanted to protect his parents, but to his surprise, the dark shadow actually wants to take him.

[00:34:18]Mirror Master tries to fight back, but is in shock as dark shadow uses both Devin and Little Johnny's powers on him.

[00:34:25]He then uses his own power to steal the powers of Billy and knock him out. It turns out the dark shadow has the power to steal other people's powers, which is a really cool concept if you decide to forget about Levin. If the Dark Shadow has the powers of the adults, wouldn't that mean he also got the powers of Levin? That power is essentially the same to his. The only difference is that the other person still has their abilities with them. With that in mind, couldn't the Mystery Men have just copied Billy's powers from the get-go and use it against him? I guess we could ignore this since technically he never used Mom's powers as well. So Devin and soon-to-be Grandma were the only people with their super suits when getting kidnapped. Anyways, as Billy is being taken, Terrence walks in on the scene since he was trying to give back Billy's Legos. Dark Shadow isn't interested, however, since Terrence doesn't have powers, but he decides to manipulate him by promising Terrence powers if he lures the villains of the backyard to a specific location. Terrence being desperate, he easily agrees and goes on with the plan. We cut to Kevin outside of Richard's porch making sure nobody comes in to kidnap his mom. Richard comes out confused and tries to confront him. Oh, wait, I'm sorry. You thought I'd forget about this because I didn't do this during my Heroes 5 review. Yeah, no way. I meant to say "B. Richard", but it doesn't matter since the Dark Shadow has now arrived. Kevin tries to fight back but is overwhelmed by his cloning powers. Well, I don't know about being overwhelmed. He kind of just disables his ability since he doesn't know which one is the real one. But whatever, Kevin gets his power stolen and is knocked out with Richard hiding and watching everything from the background. The Dark Shadow then makes it to where Tony is, who is protecting Grandma. Both of them actually fight back fiercely but are no match for the powers of the Dark Shadow, who steals both Tony and Grandma's powers as they both have their suits on.

[00:36:22]Though the Dark Shadow gives a slight hint towards his motivations during this scene. We cut back to Terrence's subplot once more, where he tricks the villains of the backyard into going to the location Dark Shadow gave him, which happens to be the place and Jane and Uncle John were kidnapped. Now, back to the sharks and Dark Shadow discussing their plans. All they need remaining is Richard and the villains. I also need to mention this, but both past Danny and Danny are constantly fighting each other for who is more evil. With Danny clearly trying to replenish his name after the defeat of Raleigh work. This will be important later. All the heroes wake up in the regular outfits and the Dark Shadow in front of them. He then shows them everyone else in the house. There's Little Johnny and his family and all the missing parents they've been looking for. And for some reason, these people aren't tied to anything. They're just moving normally and freely. It also looks like all of them are perfectly fine. No one is afraid for their lives.

[00:37:19]I would just ignore this, but this kind of ruins the intensity of the situation and makes Dark Shadow not menacing enough. But the lack of intensity doesn't matter, since the Dark Shadow finally decides to reveal himself. And I'm just going to play it out here.

[00:37:33]>> What's this dude's obsession with kidnapping people who are important to us?

[00:37:37]>> I am more than just a dude.

[00:37:39]>> No way.

[00:37:41]>> I used to be your neighbor.

[00:37:43]>> Cornelius?

[00:37:44]>> That's right.

[00:37:46]>> You were much scarier with the mask on.

[00:37:48]>> Turns out it has been Cornelius all this time. A character that was snooping around in the background of certain videos. I can't lie though, when this reveal first came out, I did not expect it. Cornelius states that ever since he's been abandoned, he's always wanted a real family. So, he kidnapped Little Johnny's parents to have a pretend family. But when the kids managed to rescue them, he became so upset that he kidnapped all their parents including them as well, so they can all be together forever. As much as this is funny, I also think this is a really good twist on the Dark Shadow overall.

[00:38:21]The execution of this reveal is actually pretty solid for what it is. Things are cut short as the villains finally arrive at the location and the dark shadow puts back his mask to confront them. Now, you may be wondering, couldn't the heroes have alerted the villains to run? Well, here's what happened when Kevin tried to do that.

[00:38:39]>> Villains, we're up here.

[00:38:41]>> Stay there and don't move.

[00:38:43]>> Okay.

[00:38:43]>> It's a stupid reasoning, but it's so funny how Kevin responds, I'll ignore it. The villains and Terrence arrive at the location, but before they could do anything the dark shadow comes in and starts a fight and almost immediately steals all their powers, including Ned's powers, even though Ned technically doesn't have powers. He uses a machine.

[00:39:03]After their powers are stolen, Terrence asks for his price of the deal for him to gain powers. Though the dark shadow denies his request, revealing that he tricked him and that it is best for him to leave. Terrence, realizing he's been manipulated, has no other choice but to leave. Back at his house, he encounters Richard, who is relieved to see he's still safe. Richard and Terrence then manage to capture two puppets who are spying on them. One puppet is Gary and another is Danny. The Gary puppet says that he actually wants to help out, while Danny says that he wants to get Richard to the dark shadow so he could be the favorite shark. Richard tells Danny that maybe he should change.

[00:39:41]Instead of always being evil for a master, he should be a free shark. Ever since season 1, Danny has always been evil or working for Raleigh works. And now, it's finally time for him to change. Do this for us and you can finally be a free puppet. A free puppet?

[00:39:57]A free puppet?

[00:40:00]Fine, I'll assist you on this adventure.

[00:40:03]This is another positive for the story overall. While the character arc for Danny wasn't smoothly executed, it doesn't really matter since it was the best decision for Danny to turn good.

[00:40:13]Having him stay evil forever would have been boring. Now, Richard, Danny, Gary, and Terrence are working together to devise a plan. Terrence, however, is conflicted to join, but Richard decides that both him and Terrence could be their own team, the anti-heroes of the backyard. With their new team established, they create a plan for them to stop the Dark Shadow. Danny fakes the capture of Richard and brings him to Cornelius, but right before he could steal his powers, Richard turns invisible to trick him. Cornelius then goes on a speech taunting Richard and saying how he has been spying on him and seeing how much vulnerable he really is.

[00:40:49]And once Cornelius mentions his dad, Richard goes off script. This sequence overall was pretty cool to see with the fact that Cornelius lived right next to him. It would make sense that Cornelius would try to humble Richard and act like they were the same. Luckily, as Cornelius begins stealing his powers, Terrence comes in with a mirror, essentially causing Cornelius to steal his own powers or not. From the looks of it, it causes him to steal his powers, but because he can't steal his own powers, it kind of just knocks him out.

[00:41:20]I'mma be completely honest, this doesn't really make much sense or is explained greatly, but it doesn't matter since Terrence defeats the Dark Shadow, which causes him to finally earn his powers from something. Whatever that something is, Terrence or the Skull of Wonder, who has the powers of dark matter manipulation.

[00:41:39]Wait, what? Dark matter? The video ends with Terrence and Richard in the anti-heroes of the backyard. Past Danny defeated by our now redeemed Danny and Gary, even though he escaped the jar and came back somehow. And all the parents and heroes back with their powers. Now with that out of the way, let's discuss three main points. For what it is, considering that this Heroes video was the culmination of a huge season, this was a good finale. The story doesn't feel too big or large, but at the same time doesn't feel pointless, either. It makes it better than the episodes we have seen so far. I think where we get to the flaws is Dark Shadow himself. You look at this design and see an incredibly cool and awesome villain. You build him out throughout the season through multiple instances, but somehow it feels like he hasn't shown enough.

[00:42:28]Already, we have one of the coolest powers out of any super person. Do you know how amazing it'd be to see the Dark Shadow potentially fight multiple people at once, having stolen the powers of everyone else? It would have been amazing, but unfortunately, that's not the case. This power was barely used and not in a sense of the stealing aspect.

[00:42:47]It's just that we didn't see him use those powers to its full potential. He kind of just uses one or two powers against each person and that's it. When you have a person that can steal powers, make that truly a threat. The Dark Shadow could have stolen Captain Invincible's powers and when the villains of the backyard came to steal his stuff, Tone can't do anything about it. Maybe make it so that stealing these powers would drain the life source off of the characters. Or if that's too much, just have a fight where we see how much potential this ability has. I think that is the only aspect of this villain that needs work on. But that's not my main issue of this video. My main issue is Terrence himself. While I was watching this video, I saw the moments where Terrence was desperate for powers like the others. It was pretty clear where the story was going and that's the fact that you don't need powers to be a hero. Or in Terrence's case, an anti-hero. Think about it. Dark Shadow's main power was to take other people's powers, but he managed to get defeated by someone with none at all. This moment demonstrated that you don't really need powers to defeat your enemies. You simply need smart skills and an aggressive fighting style like Terrence.

[00:43:57]But then Terrence earns his powers out of nowhere and he gets the most overpowered ability of dark matter manipulation. You build up an entire arc of Terrence learning to accept himself, join a new team, and defeat an enemy with no powers. But then you give him powers at the last moment? Does that not completely defeat the purpose? Like I get it, he did the right thing and therefore earned his powers. But come on, this ruins the character development. I would have expected Terrence to be someone who had more gear or weapons like the Red Hood combined with Richard's invisibility powers. It would make the anti-heroes of the backyard more of a secret and edgy team.

[00:44:34]With the powers of dark matter, it just makes the anti-heroes too overpowered and more out there. When I think of an anti-hero, think of someone more street level, but that's just me. This video is really tough to rank, but after some thinking, I realized it is best to put this in a tier. This is a good finale, but it definitely doesn't reach the top tier of S.

[00:44:57]With the defeat of Cornelius, the group decides to send him to good boy camp where he'll be forced to torture. With Gary and Danny promising to make sure Cornelius doesn't team up with Mr. Michael while also keeping past Danny stuck in that jar. But for some odd reason, these puppets can't just do what they're told. Cornelius teams up with Mr. Michael and the others. We move on to season 4 where the group is stuck in good boy camp. Richard betrays the group after learning that he is a Raleighworth and Mr. Michael is his dad. Cornelius has just been kicked off from good boy camp after he failed to be evil enough.

[00:45:32]And it turns out both Mr. Michael and Mr. Williamson have been planning to revive their dead father, Mr. Raleighworth, for which all they need to do left is connect five necklaces to make that happen. But because Trevor is the goat, he managed to steal one of the necklaces. And now it is a battle between both the heroes and villains to defeat Raleighworth, but also their closest friend.

[00:45:58]It's finally time for the most popular heroes video by far. Releasing on August 1st, 2025, Legacy or Loyalty follows the huge finale to one of the best seasons of Tone Friends, while also being the first heroes video I talked about on my channel. The video begins with Richard barging in the group's cabin, demanding Trevor for the necklace back. The group asks him why he's doing all this, and Richard remains honest by saying he doesn't know. All he wants to do is impress the dad he's never had for years, and he's willing to do anything for that. This will be one of the core themes of this video, so pay attention.

[00:46:34]Little Johnny then takes the necklace and taunts Richard, for which he begins chasing him outside. The group, in dismay, doesn't know what to do. That is until Ned brings out their superhero costumes and says they should bring the fight back to them. For a cold open, this does its job to set up the stakes and what's going on. It's also really hype when Ned reveals he has the costumes. Other than that, my only gripe is actually during the scene where they show each supers characteristics. Since for some reason they reveal both Mr. Williamson and Mr. Michaels powers here, even though it was treated as a plot twist when they got it. This kind of ruins the stakes when the group is trying to stop Richard from connecting the necklaces. It basically tells us that Richard connects it, almost ruining the suspense for that scene. But that's later down the line. Let's focus on the present where Little Johnny is being cornered by Richard. Luckily, everyone comes in the nick of time to stop him.

[00:47:28]Terrence asks why Richard betrayed their team, but Richard says that he must help the Raleigh Worths. But he promises that whatever happens, the group will not be hurt. This is another factor I really like in this episode. Richard isn't straight-up evil. He's just fully set on doing one job, but this job is being used maliciously. So all the supers begin their attack. Unfortunately, it turns out Richard has force field powers. Or wait, I meant the Richard.

[00:47:56]But no, seriously, what is this random power up? I get that it makes sense for an invisible character to have force field powers, but don't just randomly reveal that and ignore it. At least build it up since Richard has never used this before. Every super cannot break through the force field except for one.

[00:48:14]Captain Invincible breaks the force field with ease, causing Richard to run away. I'm happy that for once Captain Invincible shows some authority. His powers are really simple and can be over shadowed sometimes. With Richard gone, the group discusses where to hide the necklace. Eventually, Little Johnny and Trevor devise a plan to get to the climbing equipment and hide it there while the others discuss the importance of the necklace and decide they need to get inside the cabin and see what it does. Meanwhile, both Mr. Williamson and Mr. Michael are disappointed by Richard's inability to get the necklace.

[00:48:48]But when they learn about their powers, they decide to finally pull out their super costumes and join the fun. Richard promises to get the necklace soon enough. It is also revealed here that the necklaces can revive Mr. Rallyworth.

[00:49:01]Anyways, the heroes devise a plan to have Kevin shapeshift into Richard and try to figure out what's going on. And I mentioned this in my Good Boy Camp Retrospective video, but I'm so happy Kevin had an important role for once.

[00:49:14]Usually, his powers are treated as a joke, but in this scenario, it was used to great lengths. Kevin sneaks into the cabin pretending to be Richard and learns about the information that the necklaces can revive Rallyworth. Also, the villains have their super suits now.

[00:49:29]He also learns about extra stuff like Old Lady Judy being Rallyworth's wife.

[00:49:34]With that information, Kevin comes back and lets the group know that they must destroy the necklace. So, in a change of plans, the heroes decide to go back to the cabin to confront the Rallyworths.

[00:49:45]While the villains and the Skull of Wonder go back to the equipment to take back the necklace. Unfortunately, Richard is one step ahead of them as he's about to take the necklace. That is until the Lord of Destruction manages to freeze him. But then for some reason, Evan then tries to throw fire at Richard leading the necklace to fall down and him to be unfrozen. This causes Richard to take the necklace and escape.

[00:50:08]Meanwhile, the heroes confront and start fighting both Mr. Williamson and Mr. Michael who have no powers at all. When Richard enters, they tell him to go connect the necklaces and Tone follows.

[00:50:20]In an amazingly executed scene, Captain Invincible tells Richard that he shouldn't connect the necklaces. Richard says that he has never had a father all his life and now with his father here, he wants to spend as much time with him.

[00:50:33]Captain Invincible points out that his friends are his family, but Richard, overwhelmed by emotions, connects the necklaces anyway. The ritual process begins, but after some more convincing from Tone, Richard finally takes off the necklaces. It doesn't matter though since the necklaces still managed to give Mr. Williamson and Mr. Michael powers. Wait, what? Is this ever explained? The necklaces powers are mainly left up to our imagination, but I still find it a bit convenient that they just so happen to get their powers. We see Richard in a state where he understands that he has to help his friends, but he still clings onto the Raleighworth family. They both leave with Richard stealing some car keys.

[00:51:13]When Tone comes outside, he sees in horror that all the supers have been defeated and eventually he himself is defeated as well by Mr. Michael, the laser or Mr. Michael who has laser vision, and the phaser or Mr. Williamson who has teleportation, but can also phase reality. This is a well executed sequence and combined with the music brings back a similar feeling to when the heroes were defeated by Mr. Raleighworth. Everyone wakes up with their super suits stripped and locked in a box with Mr. Michael demanding for the final necklace that was taken away during the ritual. After Tone gets laser, Richard reveals that he had the necklace the entire time. And it is at this moment when Mr. Williamson finally snaps. He insults Richard and says he was never Rawlyworth. He deserved to be abandoned and failed to help them out.

[00:52:03]But in a surprise twist, Mr. Michael is still willing to protect his son. In anger, he tries lasering Mr. Williamson, but instead he accidentally lasers a tree causing a massive forest fire. That begins ruining the entirety of Good Boy Camp. The phaser escapes along with the box. The fire begins spreading rapidly.

[00:52:23]Mr. Michael asks Richard to make a force field around them and escape on their own. And I'm just going to play THIS CLIP.

[00:52:30]>> YOU'RE BETTER than them. They aren't your family.

[00:52:34]>> Yes, they are.

[00:52:40]>> Richard ends off his character development, not only telling us but showing us that he chooses his friends over his twisted family. But as they leave, he still decides to give the necklace to his dad. Now, this scene is a bit weird since Mr. Michael believes Richard still cares for him since he gave him the necklace, which means the necklace must still be useful somehow.

[00:53:00]But then, we never really see it again.

[00:53:03]I assume this was treated as Mr. Michael believing Richard cared for him, when in reality Richard just thought the necklace was useless. But who knows?

[00:53:11]With the stolen car keys, Richard goes to get the camp car so they can all escape. But the phaser shows up right in front of the group taunting them with their suits and promising he'll take them down soon enough. Luckily, Cornelius comes in at the nick of time.

[00:53:25]He is now fully redeemed. He uses his powers to steal Mr. Williamson's powers.

[00:53:30]But then something weird happens. At the same time, Mr. Williamson teleports, which leads to creating a dimension portal. And later down the line, we learn that this exchange caused both Cornelius and Mr. Williamson to have an extra ability of traveling the multiverse through portals. This is the biggest problem with this video. This is never explained. I expected Cornelius to fully redeem himself by defeating Mr. Williamson, the one who had tormented him the most during good boy camp. But instead, this guy gives him and himself dimension-like powers. Also, how do they even get these powers? It's not explained and you just have to roll with it. Either way, the group gets their suits back and escapes good boy camp with Richard in the camp car. Meanwhile, Cornelius, including Gary and Danny, decide to enter the dimension portal.

[00:54:19]Wait, Gary and Danny? What have they been doing this entire time? The video ends with Mr. Michael back inside the cabin trying his best to stop the fire.

[00:54:28]But behind him, a familiar face appears.

[00:54:31]While the ritual process didn't fully revive him, Mr. Rallyworth is still back from the dead. Let's just get the positives out of the way first. This is a fantastic finale to the good boy camp saga, but it also serves to fulfill Richard's development. I think out of every Heroes of the Backyard, the story is the best. I think the only issue with this entry is that not a lot is explained. Cornelius' dimension stuff isn't explained. The necklaces aren't explained. It's a weird contrast of both this is great, but also what is going on. But overall, Heroes of the Backyard 7 takes the Heroes concept to a whole 'nother level. I'll put it in the S tier.

[00:55:10]We now reach the final Heroes of the Backyard on this list so far. Two seasons later, we follow a storyline of where Seven has now stolen the life of Evan. While Evan has now stolen the life of Seven. There are clones. Mr. Rallyworth is not a zombie anymore. So much is going on. But most importantly, the group has now figured out that Seven is an impostor and they must get Evan back as soon as possible.

[00:55:38]This is the last heroes on the list, so I'm really hoping this one lives up to the hype. Releasing on May 8th, 2026, The Enemy Within concludes the Seven Imposter arc. Is it any good? Let's find out. The video begins with Kevin letting Tone, Billy, and Little Johnny know that he believes Evan is secretly Seven. The group at first doesn't believe him, but then realizes it must be true. Right then and there, Seven comes in and tries to attack. He is hit by Little Johnny.

[00:56:06]The group then decide they should quickly go back to Seven's house and rescue Evan. And instead of using Nerf guns, they'll use their super suits. But I guess for some reason they leave Seven behind at Billy's house. Since Seven devises a plan to stop them. At the house, they manage to break in, but accidentally alert all the clones, which leads to a big fight ensuing. Back at Billy's house, everyone else is there for the hangout Billy called them for before they learned about the Seven stuff. Seven pretending to be Evan shows up in the Lord of Destruction costume.

[00:56:38]He makes up a story that the heroes chose to work with Seven and that they need to get their super suits and go stop them before more bad stuff happens.

[00:56:46]And they actually believe him, all except for Richard, or I'm sorry, B.

[00:56:51]Richard, joke is so insufferable, who manages to realize it is actually Seven, but is silenced and left behind before he could say anything. I find it weird that Terrence doesn't stay back with Richard. They're the anti-heroes of the backyard. I'd expect them to work together. To be honest, we haven't really seen the anti-heroes work together after the sixth entry. This is kind of concerning. Meanwhile, the clones are defeated by the heroes, where after a long time, we finally get to see them all fighting together. I might as well put this as a positive. These guys rarely have a big fight together, so it's great to see it happen. Then the Sally clone comes out and reveals that she isn't evil and has bypassed her coding. All she and the others want is freedom from their code, and they make a promise that they'll free the clones soon enough. So, they are taken to Evan, who is pretending to be Seven. They try to convince him to come back with them, but Evan admits that he likes this life and doesn't want to go. He makes some decent points that the group doesn't really care about him. His dad doesn't truly love him. It's actually pretty sad and provided a core theme similar to when Kevin left. So, the group leaves, but still doesn't want to leave Evan behind. Then all of a sudden the villains in Skull of Wonder appear and start attacking them under the influence of Seven's lies. A huge fight ensues with the heroes trying to convince them that the Evan they know is Seven.

[00:58:12]Eventually, the group realizes that maybe the heroes are right and demand him to use his powers. And as expected, he has no powers. Now, I have a couple of issues with this scene. First of all, I get that the heroes had to fight back since the group was attacking them, but there's one moment where none of them are fighting and the heroes use this as a way to attack them.

[00:58:32]>> Get him up. Let him get up. Let him get up. LET HIM GET UP.

[00:58:36]>> OH!

[00:58:39]>> SHOULDN'T THE HEROES TRY TO actually convince them with words and not fists?

[00:58:44]If anything, mainly attack Seven himself. And again, the group just instantly starting to fight them as soon as they appear is slightly weird as well. Eventually, Evan comes in and makes Seven reveal himself fully. He then uses the clones against him. Seven wakes up with Evan back in his Lord of Destruction costume. Evan then freezes Seven, defeating him. Now, even though Seven is defeated, Evan still wants to stay in the house and the group tries convincing him to come back, but this scene is just so weird with Evan thinking Seven's house was his home. I thought we'd have more emphasis on bringing him back, but the group's ways to convince him are so stupid. At one point, they straight up say that that need someone to make fun of. If anything, only the villains are the people that truly convince him. It's just so lackluster and underwhelming.

[00:59:34]Evan is annoying, but I find that nobody talks about how useful he is. He was the reason they managed to beat Five Nights at Freddy's. He was always an MVP during the zombie apocalypse videos. I thought this was supposed to be Evan's character development and the group's honest opinions that they need Evan. But for some reason, this feels like a secondary thing that isn't treated with enough emotion. But all right, it looks like the video is over. Evan is finally back.

[01:00:00]The group gets to go back home, right?

[01:00:02]Well, not exactly. Past Danny comes in and puts on the fedora, having the clones free Seven. While Seven has no powers, he still knows what to do. When the group comes outside the house, the clones are there to attack them. Sally reminds them of the promise that they didn't fulfill. The heroes say that they'll come back to free them, but the clones don't care. So, we get another fight between the group and the clones.

[01:00:26]But once again, the clones are defeated.

[01:00:28]All of a sudden, Seven or the master swordsman comes in. His power is swords.

[01:00:33]Super overpowered, huh? But obviously, that won't do him any good. So, completely out of nowhere, he brings Mr. Michael, who begins lasering Tone. Seven demands him to do more, and Mr. Michael lasers him so hard that Tone evaporates.

[01:00:48]Let me repeat that. Captain Invincible dies. Luckily, Ned actually has the Watch of Wonder with him. So, he reverses time and brings him back. Mr. Michael tries lasering Ned to get back the watch before Richard shows up tanking the blow, proving that yet again, he cares for his friends. But then out of nowhere, Mr. Williamson comes out and steals the watch. He reveals he has begun taking over the multiverse and has come to meet Mr. Rallyworth again. Mr. Michael, angry from his brother's success, then increases the intensity of his lasers so much that it literally knocks out the entire group and seven. Then Jerry James Johnson comes out saying their plan worked and they must begin operation replacement. The video ends with seven waking up finding out all the members have been replaced with clones. The villains have won.

[01:01:37]As much as this is the coolest thing ever, I cannot lie when I say, "What is going on?" Mr. Michael randomly pops up at the end along with Mr. Williamson.

[01:01:47]Tone is also basically killed and this is never brought up again. Also, technically it was seven who caused Tone's death and still he is fully redeemed at the end of Nerf Wars 10.

[01:01:58]Along with that, Mr. Michael also killed Tone technically and we just completely ignore that. Guys, what is going on? Ned takes out the time watch. Then Mr. Williamson steals it. Also, why didn't Richard make a force field around anybody when Tone was getting lasered?

[01:02:13]Considering he was literally there for Ned. Why did the clones complain about the heroes not helping them? But at the end, Sally clone is shown to clearly be smiling after Jerry tells her to begin the operation. Like isn't she supposed to be uncomfortable after that?

[01:02:29]I think this final scene has some fantastic moments, but it doesn't feel well executed. Like seeing the watch getting stolen or the clones replacing them. That is so cool to see, but it again feels so rushed. It was very hype seeing all this happen. The watch is coming back, the villains winning, the clones replacing them. But now in hindsight, this feels like something that was crammed in right at the end out of nowhere. Also, this general story of bringing back Evan is so lackluster. I already talked about this, but the character development was lacking. I get that this is a video supposed to set the scene for the eventual final arc of the season, but there were so many ways to make this better. In my personal opinion, this video goes top of B tier.

[01:03:13]The story feels weird as it's both rushed yet under developed. I can't say it is horrible, but this definitely needed more polishing. A disappointment for our final Heroes ranking.

[01:03:29]With every Heroes video covered, let's now give them our categories. Let's just get this out of the way first. The worst Heroes video of all time is the Shark of Destruction. Everything about it is boring and lackluster. The most rewatchable Heroes video is the Mystery Man. It is entertaining and the premise is fine. It's not the greatest story in the world, but it's fun. The most thrilling video is Guardians of Time. It has a lot of stakes and great moments.

[01:03:56]The most boring video is Pumpkin of Power. It's a solid story, but it's just a simple Halloween special. The most disappointing video is a new beginning.

[01:04:05]Everything about it had potential, but didn't execute it well. The most underrated video is the original Heroes of the Backyard. It has a solid story and good character work. The most overrated video is the Enemy Within. It has good fights, but very rushed and underdeveloped moments. And finally, the best Heroes video so far is Legacy or Loyalty. It may have some confusing moments, but the story it presents is one of the best by far. Heroes of the Backyard: Legacy or Loyalty goes into the super tier.

[01:04:43]But after reviewing every Heroes of the Backyard, I was surprised at how many flaws each video has. It was really interesting seeing the series adapt from a fun superhero adventure to full-on twists and turns. I can truly see why everyone loves this series with its immaculate charm and energy. This video has taken months to edit and write. I was editing this video every day, and it was a lot of burnout, but it was all for you guys.
