Tropical Storm ‘Domeng’ strengthens and enhances southwest monsoon, PAGASA warns of heavy rainsAdded:
[music] >> We now have the fourth cyclone of the year. We're monitoring tropical storm Domeng, formerly Jangmi, which entered just after midnight. It strengthened slightly, now packing winds of 85 km per hour, though it's not expected to directly affect conditions and will stay well over to the east over the Philippine Sea. But as it says, Western Visayas and Caraga may get some rains this weekend as the extension of Domeng, last spotted east of southeastern Luzon, is seen to affect or enhance the southwesterly wind flow, as you can see here, before it it exits [music] between Monday or Tuesday.
Checking Mindanao, we see rains over the Zamboanga Peninsula, Soccsksargen, Bohol, and Lanao >> [music] >> del Norte. In the central Philippines, we see rains and thunderstorms over Palawan, Antique, Negros, and Bohol, though most areas in the Visayas will enjoy fair conditions tomorrow. While in Luzon, occasional light to moderate rains over the Cordillera region and parts of central Luzon like Pampanga and Bulacan. Checking the heat index forecast, most areas still dangerously under sweltering conditions. Aurora and Cavite will hit 47° C, while Aparri, Tuguegarao, and Baler in Aurora will be hitting 46°, and also Bulacan as well will be hitting 46°, while Coron Palawan will be seeing highs of 45° and in Science Garden in Quezon City 44° C.
