[00:08:19]as well. But if you are inside that warning area, I am not seeing anything that stands out to me as the potential for a tornado on the ground. And again, that's including areas of Mossy Head, Alpine Heights. You're likely just seeing a lot of that uh really heavy rainfall now making its way into uh Definiac Springs as well. Again, that's still a view of uh I 10 just south of Deiaak Springs. see a little bit more. I can see a little bit more of that rain making its way onto the highway. So, plenty of cars. And again, uh one thing why we want to take these storms so seriously is because this is a big travel day. Many people likely making their way along I 10 trying to get back home from uh areas likely along the coastline. So, that's why we want to take these uh very seriously. Still seeing that spin with uh the storm now north of Rock Hill. This has uh the rotation here crossing Highway 331 now holding on to heavy rainfall. Um I haven't checked this out yet too. I don't think there's much of the danger or um the concern for hail. Again, we would have that more with um a lot more energy at the surface that would have overshooting cloud tops to allow for hail. And with the hail tracker, I'm not seeing any returns that scream out that uh uh we're seeing these storms producing damaging hail as well. Really, the main threat is seeing where these storms can try to spin up and drop brief tornadoes. So, we still have a little bit of the spin of those inbound winds going against those outbound winds as well. This is what we're watching now.

[00:09:57]um as that tornado warning farther to the west likely going to be ex uh expiring here in the next 7 minutes. But we'll be watching this as it continues towards I 10. Again, if you are watching from home, if you know anybody traveling along this area of I 10 today, hey, let them know. Go ahead and call them. Just let them know that um we are tracking this storm is possessing some rotation.

[00:10:25]you want to be on standby or already have a safe space or you can even go ahead and tell them try to pull over just to be safe until uh we start to see that this storm either moves farther to the north or starts to subside as well.

[00:10:38]So, as I zoom in here again, this uh spin now starting to cross Highway 331 farther off to the east, but it's not standing out as uh something uh very very strong. Going back to debris tracker over the past couple scans, nothing really standing out either for debris being lofted by this uh rotation. I know typically with um when we are tracking uh tornadoes and again we saw that earlier with a couple of these spins uh earlier as well, we had the inbound and outbound winds getting really close together, those colors getting brighter as well. That's typically where we started to see those winds becoming stronger, wanting to reach areas of the surface and those correlated with drops in the or drops in values in the debris tracker. That's uh what we typically trying to find. But as this continues to cross uh 331, again, four areas um towards uh highway or county road 280, East Indian Creek Ranch Road, Tall Oaks Road, please be in your safe space as of right now as we continue to track this. likely as we hold on to the spin. And it's been holding on to a spin for um definitely the past several minutes, they'll probably want to continue on with this tornado warning until it's set to expire, which will be uh 6 p.m. And um let's see.

[00:12:15]Okay, I was getting I was getting some of my polygons crossed there on my phone right there. But, uh, they will likely want to see that this, uh, storm continues to stay warm at least or to stay warned at least until, uh, 6:00 this evening as it's still holding on to a good spin right here.

[00:12:38]But pretty soon though, if this holds on to some spin, what typically happens once we go farther into um once we go farther into the Florida panhandle, we'll switch between the Eglund Air Force Base radar site and also uh the Fort Rucker radar site, too. So, that provides a little bit of a closer look at data, but that's also when the storm does get uh much farther away from the radar site. with it being close by, we can uh have a better picture of seeing what this storm is doing at lower levels of the atmosphere. And so with Eklan Air Force Base uh pretty close actually we can draw out I mean that is that is very close to the radar site. Let's see if we can uh draw out how close it is to that rotation. So yeah, only 11 miles that's pretty low within the storm. And so whatever this is behaving as or whatever we see this behavior continue to evolve, it'll be pretty close to the ground.

[00:13:34]We'll have a better indicator of um how the storm is behaving. There's the latest update for that spin.

[00:13:43]Wanted to fire up a little bit. Again, that's pretty broad rotation. Uh looking at the grand scheme of things, I'm going to go back to reflectivity. You can kind of see a little bit of that spin uh into Definiac Springs, that hook right here, but it's not very prominent, but still holding on to a broad rotation. Uh seeing a little bit more of maybe those winds starting to fire up along I 10 blowing rain across the camera as well.

[00:14:08]Also, even just this heavy rain can cause um uh underlying or not underlying issues, but uh can be an issue for many travelers, especially on a day like today where people are heading home from the holiday weekend. But if you are along or driving along areas of I 10 right now, we're still seeing that this storm is holding on to this rotation.

[00:14:32]And so if you know people or if you are watching live as you're driving along this area of uh I 10, just be uh letting them uh letting them know that we're continuing to watch this storm as it's making its way towards this highway. But again, this rotation has been very broad over the past several minutes.

[00:14:56]really really once it was southwest of Rock Hill I would say was when it was pretty strong in that rotation wanting to strengthen up here but now that that's moved forward um it's holding on to more of that broad rotation still a tornado warning in effect for areas of Rock Hill along Highway 331 but that rotation has moved north you are in the clear uh if you are in areas of Rock Hill or along areas of 331 close to Rock Hill, you are in the clear as that rotation has moved north of you. Again, we are just one minute away from this warning, including areas of Alpine Heights from being uh or going expired into Mossy Head. Not seeing any rotation with that. Uh let's take a look again at uh base velocity here to see if I'm seeing any uh winds kind of firing up.

[00:15:48]Again, more of these uh winds probably between the 30 mile per hour, 35 mile per hour wind gusts. Yeah, 30, 29, 28, 31. So, yeah, again, still with this, not seeing much in terms of um not seeing much in terms of a threat for straight line wind gusts. It's really just for uh these brief spin-ups here as we continue to track this spin. But again, very broad rotation.

[00:16:18]um as this holds on to broad rotation.

[00:16:22]Again, they let that uh well, there was better rotation with this storm earlier.

[00:16:26]But if they still want this tornado warning continue farther off towards the north and Argyle, you'll likely be included next into areas along Highway 90 towards Pon De Leon, we're going to be watching out for those areas, too, as this storm continues moving farther to the north. But again, nothing's standing out to me as really broad rotation. Seeing that even with my most recent scans. I'm kind of keeping an eye on that too on my phone and just not seeing um anything that is um anything that is standing out. Now, that is a good picture right there. Actually, could we take that in full right there?

[00:17:05]That is just a look at some of the rain that is making its way into I 10 south of Argyle. likely um likely just to the south of Kick County, Highway 183 uh as we're seeing a little bit more of that rain. Yeah, take a look at that.

[00:17:21]Now, that is those are conditions where it is not safe to drive. Very low vis visibility. You can see that those cars having to turn on their flashers as well. I would recommend almost uh um going slow like a lot of these cars are doing or if visibility is this low as well trying to pull off to an exit uh to stay off the interstate at least until this thunderstorm can uh pass a little bit. Another car with its flashers on as well. So areas uh or many travelers for this day having to uh kind of face these conditions as they are heading home um as these storms remain powerful too. So, if we can take myself back real quick.

[00:18:02]Woo! I almost dropped the mouse right there. Um, but likely, yeah, starting to see more of that heavy rainfall making its way towards uh I 10 just south of Argyle. And we still have a little bit of that spin here indicating that this storm is holding on to that broad broad rotation.

[00:18:23]But now that that tornado that tornado warning both for Rock Hill and for areas of Alpine Heights, Mossy Head that has uh expired. So now we are only watching for this tornado warning still holding on to really broad rotation here as a storm continuing to make its way farther north into I 10, but still rotation nonetheless. So I would advise caution especially after you saw or can still see the conditions of the rain making its way through. Again, it is just best to uh be really safe. Uh take it slow, but if you are in this tornado warning, I would suggest um just just in case trying to pull pull over and uh be in a safe spot as much as you can or maybe even finding an exit and just sitting there in the parking lot because these are still dangerous travel conditions for today. Um but for where we are seeing that rotation now the latest radar really being rain wrapped. Uh there's still embedded rotation within this uh storm but now it's really being rain wrapped. Lots of heavy rain along I 10 right here now starting to make its way into Argyle.

[00:19:39]Definiac Springs in the center of that heavy rainfall. likely seeing some lightning as well. But these storms not packing a ton of lightning and we that's not uncommon. We have seen that where again even uh showers and thunderstorms can spin up without having to produce much lightning. Again, that's where you rely more on the spin in the atmosphere rather than the amount of energy that is at the surface. You can have a lot more of one, very little of one, but still have tornadoes that are able to result from that as well. Taking a look at base velocity here. Again, none of these um showers and thunderstorms really standing out uh in terms of showing uh really strong straight line wind gusts as well. There's there's a look at Lake Definia from our sky cam right there. Now, heavy rainfall as we saw uh earlier really coming down. I saw many people walking along uh the lake earlier. Hopefully, they are ducking in cover as we see a lot more of that rain.

[00:20:37]But in the latest scan for this spin now seeing more of those inbound winds, not too much of the outbound. It's trying to hold on to a little bit more of that.

[00:20:46]But if it continues along this route, I would not be surprised if they try to let this uh warning run its course. And uh this is a little bit east of Argal.

[00:20:57]Is that what you said, Sean?

[00:21:00]Okay. Okay. So just a little bit southeast of Argyle here. Uh lots of rain still coming down. I believe yeah some uh looks like some vehicles have pulled over to try to hold off on driving through that uh rain because I mean you see the traffic a lot of 18 wheelers still coming through a lot of uh sedans coming through as well. So, people trying to brave this rain, but again, don't try to if you can't see, it's best to find that safe spot, pull over because you don't want to be caught in that rain trying to uh make your way make your way forward. Okay, they've shortened that tornado warning. So, if you are in areas um really along Highway 331 towards uh let's see uh Red Hill Bridge Road into uh Montgomery Road, Campbell Road, you are in the clear. County Highway 280, you are uh in the clear.

[00:21:56]This rotation uh now um really weak or uh not very strong has been making its way farther to the north of you. So, you are out of this warning. And for areas towards um Argyle, towards Ponto Leon, this is not really holding much strength. Of course, I'll be watching this very closely as this storm continues to make its way uh farther to the east for any potential spin-offs because again, it could it could happen.

[00:22:22]That is something typical that we do find with setups like this where storms can uh fire up their rotation. Again, now we can really see the I 10 traffic going very very slowly uh kind of braving that rain. Again, it's very easy for especially on travels days like this where weather like this can cause uh accidents as well. So, keep that in mind too if you are along uh I 10 right now.

[00:22:47]Um but yeah, looking back at uh where that rotation is, more inbound winds now making its way through. Even through base velocity, we can see that storm motion continuing farther towards or farther farther down I 10. But this storm is relatively making its way to the north and so it's slowly pushing to the east but flowing faster towards uh areas north as well. But we are seeing that that rotation that was pretty prominent earlier. I'll take a I'll actually rewind as we were watching the evolution of that rotation really started farther to the west of Freeport many many miles down as it crossed 331.

[00:23:29]still held on to a bit of that rotation there, but has really died down, becoming more uh straight line, I would say, over the past several minutes, just to the southwest or excuse me, uh southeast of Definiac Springs.

[00:23:46]So, that is that is some good news. And uh what that means is if this holds on, I know the National Weather Service sometimes they like to keep warnings uh going for uh quite a bit longer, but if they hopefully do see that uh this area of winds continues farther to the north, not really showing much in terms of uh rotation, we will see that that um uh likely does expire. hopefully maybe even earlier uh at that point as well. But just a lot of heavy rain I will say making its way along uh I 10 still over Definiac Springs. Uh and we can see that very uh uh making a big effect for that sky camera over areas of I 10. Uh many uh vehicles now pulling over trying to stay safe. Still have their flashers on as well to alert uh traffic still making its way through but much slower than what it was uh earlier as well. So, that's the best thing we could advise, too. Again, really trying to find a safe space to pull over when that rain becomes very heavy, but also definitely have your lights on. Take it slow if you're uh still wanting to go on because uh you don't want to play with this kind of weather, especially on a big travel day like this. as we're still seeing that that uh rotation is really on the lower side. Let's take a broader look at where some of our other counties are into the wire grass as that tornado warning still uh continues. Geneva County starting to get some of those showers and thunderstorms. Covington County seeing a lot of that rainfall as well. Uh large amounts of rain. We'll likely see more of this into the evening and we could hold on to uh showers and thunderstorms into the late part of the night, but we'll likely lose that energy for anything severe to uh act up as well. really the heaviest of that rainfall still just to the north of Deviac Springs making its way from Florala and we'll likely see that that continues on into um parts of our our other parts of the Florida panhandle toward Shipley and Graceville, but this could uh be over the course of uh the next few hours as well. So, and we'll see more of that activity into the next several days.

[00:26:03]Again, more of that southerntherly flow coming in from the south, pumping more moisture in. That will still support the daily chance for showers and thunderstorms um over the next several days, but we'll start to see that those rain chances do subside towards uh the weekend. So, kind of a different picture from what we saw last week where into this weekend, we saw that those rain chances go up. We'll likely see a little bit of that go down as we get closer and closer to the start of hurricane season.

[00:26:29]That is coming up too. do not uh don't want to forget that as well. But let's take a closer look at uh that warning here.

[00:26:39]And I'm not sure.

[00:26:42]Okay, they may have let that uh yeah, they let that warning expire. So, that is good. We'll um watch this for just one other scan to see how this behaves.

[00:26:53]But again, not really holding on to much of that spin as that uh thunderstorm making its way to the east of Argyle. Uh we saw that those inbound winds were going along with those outbound, but now we have seen that this has turned more into uh more of a straight line wind pattern, but again, we could hold on to maybe uh some of the energy for this to want to spin up again. So, I will be watching this storm very closely. But when looking at the structure, it was a lot uh straighter as this was making its way in from the coast.

[00:27:27]And we saw definitely some uh couplets or uh I would say actually hooks more of those hook structures making their way in along with uh the base of the storm.

[00:27:39]And that's where you want to find spins that could lead to tornadoes. But now just not seeing that with the structure.

[00:27:45]Let's take a look at uh areas south of the uh south of the radar site. Not seeing much for that either as well. And again, when it comes to actual straight line winds, not seeing the threat for that with uh this event either. Now, it's just starting to see a mix of winds where we could see maybe between 30 to 35 mile per hour wind gust. But in terms of severe winds, 58 mph or more, we don't have the uh energy in place for that. We likely would need a lot more heat to be in place and a lot more sunshine to be in place for that heat. Same goes with hail as well. But as this continues uh to the east of Argyle, that storm will be uh really reaching Posa Leon uh pretty uh closely within the next few minutes. But now not a tornado warned storm as we can see. And they did let that warning expire early as well. So, we will likely continue to see shower and thunderstorm activity over the next several hours, likely even into parts of the overnight as well. We'll hold on to a lot of this moisture for showers and thunderstorms uh for the next several days as well.

[00:28:53]But, I'll be keeping my eye closely uh for this storm, see if we can get any more of a spin- up as well. If you joined us uh this afternoon, thank you.
