Electric scooters designed for city streets are not suitable for off-road trail riding due to inadequate suspension systems, insufficient torque for rough terrain, and limited battery range, which can result in mechanical failures, safety hazards, and significantly reduced performance compared to purpose-built off-road electric vehicles.

I Brought an Amazon Scooter on a Trail Ride and Regret It Big TimeAdded:
So, it still gets up to speed in low battery. It's just the acceleration up to that speed. Really hard to wheelie this thing.
>> Recording of you doing a wheelie for product reasons.
>> No, not worth it on this thing.
That was fun, buddy.
>> I got a little tweak.
>> Somebody's right on my turkey trying to make a pass.
>> I'm coming.
And I stepped on it for one second and I felt this click and I was like, Harley, what's that click?
This thing has lost a whole lot of power.
>> That little tiny kids.
>> Yeah.
>> Throttle. Keep that momentum. Oh, we will not get up this hill. Not with the battery where it is.
Almost there.
>> I realized I wasn't hearing.
>> Yeah, exactly. Oh, here we go. Downhill.
I should have brought Betty for this.
This is uh actually killing this machine. Now the rotor's rubbing or something.
>> The rear suspension actually.
>> Good thing we got those tools.
>> Yeah, I'm glad we brought those tools.
>> You guys talking about the antic. Dude, I'm so excited for that.
>> Stand up.
Let's roll. This is bicycle brakes, so I got to remember back brakes over here.
>> It's like It sucks. This thing is not built for this kind of stuff. I think I might be bleeding from the elbow a little bit.
When I see those branches in the ground, I just have to make a noise and just grunt because it's going to hurt. I think the bars are still loose. Oh yeah, they definitely are. They're way more loose now. Every time I hit a bump, they like loosen themselves more. Yeah, in hindsight, I do greatly regret bringing this particular bike.
I don't want to be in the back in case this bike breaks or something.
>> All right. Thanks.
>> But there's an inner there's an inner trail and it's only >> Sorry, I'm not trying to hold you guys up from like a a good fun ride.
>> I'm starting to ride this thing a little harder now. If it breaks underneath me, it breaks.
I'm getting roosted by a one meal.
>> The bars are still loose.
>> We'll definitely be back.
>> This isn't the last.
>> Actually, I think a battery.
>> Sweet. You don't have any more of those empanadas, do you?
>> Breaking us.
>> I know. That's why I said it feels good on the bike.
>> Oh my god. Some tushy cushy.
>> She contours the rump for sure. Look, >> we're the same size. Basically the same bike.
>> Yeah. One's a ripper and one's a crawler.
This whole s section was sick.
Oh my. And then the front end wore [ __ ] out on that sand. This gentleman.
>> Okay. I'm going faster this lap than I did the first one. Little little more confidence in this thing. Still would not like to be on it.
>> Definitely not doing it with speed.
There we go. Oh, look at this. That's cool. My buddy Drew, who you know, he used to have the red RTR. Now he's bikeless, more of a onehe guy. The red RTR still exists. It's now my buddy Bruce's. This is my first time checking out the Bear Lake campground. It is in Milton, Florida. It's about an hour drive from my house. And because electric rippers probably aren't supposed to be on this trail and everyone else is going to be riding one wheels, which nobody seems peeved about.
I've never seen a mountain biker on a trail or a Karen Sharon Darren bust the chops off a one-wheeler or a unicycler or pedal bike, ebike. It's always emot.
It's always the fun ones. The e- rides, taras, sirons, rtrs, razor builds. If it looks like a dirt bike, people are pissed. So, because of that, I I'm not going to bring a fully juiced out built RTR or my -30 just in case the park rangers want to come out, pepper spray me, and impound my whip. Literally, neither of those scenarios would probably happen. But to play it safe, I'm going to bring the $700 budget ripper that I just reviewed that was sent for review. This is going to be a fantastic test of this front and rear suspension, 1500 W peak hub motor, $700 ripper. Mostly, I'm curious about the power. Am I able to keep up with these one wheels, which can do about 30 m an hour on smooth road, and these guys know how to rip trails, zipping off logs and doing crazy things, struggling to keep up on this thing, not slowing down the one wheels or whatever. And also range.
The manufacturer claims some crazy number like 45, 50 mi of range. We all know manufacturers like to look at the real range of their bikes. Just go ahead and double that for safe measure. Put that on the website. So, I'm I'm really expecting about 25 miles out of this thing.
>> So, if you rode 60 miles, they claimed a a range of like 42 miles or something.
>> I'm just really curious how this thing is going to handle the terrain that we're on today.
I already see a Oh, ebike or emoto or something off to the left there. And there's a bunch of dirt bikes, street legal dual sports on the road around here. It's pretty cool. Oh, the boys are already here.
>> Going on, fellas. Ready for a good ride?
>> I think I got it. This thing's not too heavy.
>> Is that the >> This is a ice scooter DX5.
>> I just got the the antic motion.
>> Yeah, I ordered one of those. I'm I'm super pumped for that to get here.
>> You've been messing around with the wheelie mode.
>> Yeah.
>> Nice.
>> I can pop them now. I can get like It took me a minute. I got it over at Oak City for It took me a minute there and I got it.
>> Yeah, that thing looks sweet, man. I'm super excited for it.
>> [ __ ] nerds. What's up, brother?
>> Doing well. How are you? What's up?
>> How are you, Jude?
>> Great, buddy.
>> Oh, heck yeah, man.
>> This is Buffalo chicken.
>> Took my dirty glove off.
>> I'm tired of replacing [ __ ] 358 chains. I got to go to a 420 chain.
>> You don't want to get too small.
>> Yeah, that 420 would be nice on there.
>> It' look good, too.
>> I hope I turned it back up. I had to turn it down for Drew to race it.
>> It's got front and rear suspension. I'm used to riding like Emoto, so I'm just going to treat it as such. We'll see.
Oh, this is somebody's house. Oops. This is actually somebody's property. This This is not what I meant to do. Gosh darn it. They're probably so used to having people do that. All right. Bath house around here. Speed bumps.
Surprised it didn't bottom out. And literally the bottom is the battery, so that's not fun.
Damn, it's actually eating it.
I was just talking to myself, not recording. The bars are like bent. I think it's from the car. Me loading and unloading it might have been a little ferocious for it.
Yes, it is.
>> Oh, yeah. These are loose. I wonder what else got rattled loose on the first ride.
>> The skid plate. The first thing to get hits the battery.
>> That' be perfect for the antic kind of like this. This right here >> or or even a bag underneath it. And I need to get that cup holder.
This is like already pushing what this thing's capable of. And we're at the entrance.
Took a bad line. I got to remember my Oh, rear brakes on the right.
Man, these guys are cooking.
This was the wrong vehicle to take.
Okay.
This is so rough on this thing.
Damn, they're so far up there. My arms are getting pounded from absorbing most of the impacts.
Holy heck.
Dude, I should have brought Betty for this. Oh my god.
Dang. Like all those stealth roots are not getting soaked up. Pounded.
Oh, pine cones.
Luckily, it's single track. They're only going to go one way.
end washed out on me right there.
Something rattled loose down there, dude. I can't even See, the one wheelers are so far up there.
I should have brought Betty for this.
This is uh actually killing this machine and not comfortable or fun. Oh, those wheels are just like eating this terrain like nothing.
Now the rotor's rubbing or something.
This bike sounds like it's about to fall apart underneath me.
Yeah, dude. This thing is bumpy. I should have brought Betty out here.
>> No, that's definitely smooth out back here. This is the roughest part.
>> Oh, okay. Cool. The rear suspension actually looks like >> the antique work.
>> What's the voltage?
>> That's loose, too. You see that? Good thing we got those tools.
>> Buddy, >> we brought those tools.
>> I feel like everything's rattling loose on this thing.
>> For a little tiny bike, it's got big boy.
>> What' you tell earlier >> down here? That >> the headset. Yeah, now the bars are loose.
>> You guys talking about the antic. Dude, I'm so excited for that.
>> You good?
>> Stand up. Get all tightened up. Let's roll.
>> This is bicycle brakes. So, I got to remember back brakes over here.
>> Uh, >> it's like it sucks.
>> It's recording. Yes.
Oh my god. Whenever you hit a bump like that, it feels like the bike is going to shatter underneath you like that.
Holy moly.
Technically, anything other than like city roads is too rough for this bike.
We've learned that here very quickly.
All right.
Now it sounds like something underneath the bike's falling apart. This is so scary. With every bump, it's like loosening bolts. This thing is not built for this kind of stuff.
God, front end just washed on me.
Oh, I just took a branch to the side of the arm and it hurt. Oh, it's all right.
It's part of it.
Oh, I think I might be bleeding from the elbow a little bit.
My god, can't do that.
When I see those branches in the ground, I just have to make a noise and just grunt because it's going to hurt.
I think the bars are still loose. Oh, yeah. They definitely are. They're way more loose now. Every time I hit a bump, they like loosen themselves more.
This is so scary. Um, yeah, in hindsight, I do greatly regret bringing this particular bike. Sand Fronttor is going nuts right now.
Okay, this isn't too bad. I do need to tighten my bars again.
Yeah, I'm definitely the weak link here.
I'm the slowest vehicle by by a large a large margin acceleration wise, suspension.
Brakes are good. Um, I'll give them that. I don't want to be in the back in case this bike breaks or something. All right, guys.
So, if I just hold the front brake a little bit, it'll hold the rotor and it will stop making that noise.
Okay, I've already lost a bar of battery.
What was that noise?
Holy jeepers.
See, they're just pulling ahead, not even trying. Mud or something here.
>> No, they're good. I love it.
>> I'm watching the hell on the trail, but there's an inner there's an inner trail and it's only >> Sorry, I'm not trying to hold you guys up from like a a good fun ride.
complicated, but there's another trail.
>> I'm down for whatever. Like, I'm down to go fast enough on the road. I'm down to do the roots.
>> Front rotor tan singing us a little song.
Oh my.
All right, this is uphill. This thing is struggling, but actually doing pretty good considering this is like loose rock.
And I'll hop on the I'm starting to ride this thing a little harder now. If it breaks underneath me, it breaks.
Oh, I just got hit in the freaking face.
I'm getting roosted by a one meal.
Trying to pull his line.
But he can actually take the tree roots much harder than I can. So I have to actually swerve those pretty bad.
Okay. Now this is this is fine right here on the the pavement.
The bars are still loose. Uh, three out of four bars.
>> Holy jeez. That's quick, dude. This thing is like actually hits harder than Betty on the acceleration.
It won't blow your tits back since you're used to the RTR.
>> Were you filming last lap?
>> Yeah. Talking to myself the whole time being like I cannot keep up with these guys. Seat's comfy.
>> Yeah, it's squishy seat.
>> Knife on the lens.
>> That thing rips.
>> We'll definitely be back.
>> This isn't the last battery.
>> Sweet. Still having fun even though I'm monitored. While you're doing that, I'm doing a little bolt check back here.
>> Should be better.
>> Thank you, man. I appreciate that big time.
>> Is that the one? Is that the one rubbing?
>> No, it's the front. You don't have any more of those empanadas, do you?
>> You want a medium one or the same chicken one?
>> Uh, try the different flavor.
>> It's not worth upgrading the existing one.
>> Got them.
[ __ ] >> I know. That's why I said it feels good on the butt.
>> Oh my god. Some tushy cushy.
>> She contours the rum for sure.
>> I love the products with you. We'll never be riding this on a group riding.
>> Get up in there, >> dude. It's scary getting bucked loose.
>> That back is like riding behind it.
>> Those springs are the springs are absorbing going up, but going down there are [ __ ] slamming the tire.
>> Yeah, there's like no compression or rebound like real dirt bike suspension.
This is like bicycle suspension. Oh, okay. Sweet. I can deal with the tanging as long as the the front caliper doesn't fall off while we're riding.
>> Yeah. Last time I wore him, I got hit by the car.
>> Zach's lost charge.
>> Oh, yeah. Did Did you ever find out?
>> Look, they're the same size. Basically the same bike.
>> Yeah. One's a ripper and one's a crawler.
>> Okay, I am in the back. So, if I do break down, this is We'll find me eventually.
Try and make a pass if I can. At least if I do get separated, it's just like a big loop. Yeah, this first part is by far the chunkiest, roughest, and then it does kind of smooth out a little bit.
This whole section was sick. I'm having fun even though I'm on this thing.
Just not nearly as much fun and much more scary.
This is wide open right here. That was full throttle.
Oh, so I just bottomed out. And that is the battery. Stupid design.
This would be fun on like a Benell uh MX775 or RTR. Pretty much anything. with this front end just washed out on me.
Scurry I'm recording, too. So, whatever cool footage of you guys zipping and ripping, I'll send it to you.
>> Just me struggling back there trying to survive.
>> Your POV is going to look like a drunk fight with the amount of effort you're putting in.
>> Oh, yeah.
That scared me.
Oh my. And then the front end water [ __ ] out on that sand. This thing is holding on by three.
I'm good. Just the sounds of a bike dying.
Doing not that crazy of riding. Oh, down on battery now. I still got three bar, but whenever I give it throttle, it goes down to two.
All that Ah, give them some space. I'm eating a lot of roost and their their heads are up higher than a mini bike, so they don't really eat as much dust following each other.
gentlemen.
>> I hit 36 on it.
>> We'll hit it later, but there's a two stair rocket group on.
>> Yeah, it's proximity.
>> Yeah, I don't I can't do that on this.
This is full throttle right now.
Full throttle. Wide open. Barely moving.
Hoping I don't hit some crazy stuff.
Okay, I'm going faster this lap than I did the first one. Little little more confidence in this thing. Still would not like to be on it.
>> What's that, brother?
>> Oh, yeah.
>> Nice.
Oh my. That one. Oh my god, there's another one. I can't go that fast through here. If I hit another one of those, this spike will crumple crumple foreskin.
Blue sand. Holy jeepers.
>> Uh-oh.
>> Good, brother.
>> Man, I didn't see that many. It >> was all Drew's fault.
Oh, that branch just took took a chunk of my arm. Left it with the forest. You sure all my stuff's still in here? Yep, we're good. Cell phone or anything? Come on. Too many rocks through here. I don't like Yeah, this might be part of the the trail.
I'm coming.
>> Dang, dude. I just got to be light on the bars and like kind of let it float around on this stuff.
>> I lost it under on under those roots right there. Kind of just went straight down on my knees.
>> Yeah, you landed gracefully though.
>> Yeah.
This guy's a mad man on that thing.
Definitely not doing it with speed.
There we go.
Oh god, this thing is struggling.
Oh my god. It's full throttle. Bike's wet. I'm on loose rocks. This thing is struggling to get up this full throttle.
It's definitely slower now. It's noticeably losing power acceleration now at two bars of battery. So, keep that in mind.
Technically half tank losers.
Oh. Oh, my tires are still wet from that creek. Dawson's creek.
Oh, he's doing emoto [ __ ] Roosting the be Jesus out of us.
Oh, soft sand.
Thick sand.
>> Squirrely just took a bug to the eye.
So, it still gets up to speed in low battery. It's just the acceleration up to that speed is like way slower now.
Oh, it's on two out of four bars. I wish I had more display, like seven or nine bars, so you knew exactly where you're at.
>> Something. Yeah, something like that.
>> I think I'm good now.
>> Yeah, he fixed me up.
>> Yeah.
>> Mhm. Good enough for the day until I get home and put some Loctite on there.
Oh, you also got this low.
>> Yeah, it's lower.
>> It's really hard to wheelie this thing.
>> Take a recording of you doing a wheelie for product reasons.
>> No, not worth it on this thing. This is Kevin wheeling a turd or trying to using all my body language. It actually did get up a little bit. That was crazy.
>> And I stepped on it for one second and I felt this click and I was like, Carly, what's that click? And I was like, No handed on this thing. Feels like a trick, but really it's a trap.
Surprised it didn't bottom out. This thing has like no clearance. And the first thing to bottom out is the battery.
This path is way cooler, way smoother.
>> Hey, it goes way better.
>> Okay, I'm already liking it.
>> I see you.
Oh, that was a pretty one, bro. That was fun, buddy.
>> I got a little tweak in that.
>> Yeah, hang time.
>> Think they might have just bumped into each other back there. Happens to the best of us.
Somebody's right on my turkey trying to make a pass. Got to speed her up or get past.
Oh my goodness.
Look at this drop off.
They've already caught up. My bike slow as hell. Oh, I hit some bumps.
You go ahead.
>> Dang, this is full throttle. It's heck of slow now. It's lost a lot of power.
Just got to carry speed, not use the brakes.
It's a lot um easier or hard. It's going to be harder than just saying that. This is suspensions.
Oh, okay. Oh, yeah. Downhill. This is going to help me cuz I have brakes. I just don't have I just don't have the power right now.
I can't wait.
Heat.
Heat.
Hey, I'm the last one. Hey, I'm the last one.
>> Oh, okay. Thank you.
>> Yes, sir. He He was smiling. She was not. She was heck of mad.
picture. You wipe out a little bit.
>> Yeah.
>> I I thought I thought I heard that.
>> Jay doesn't break.
>> Oh, really?
>> No, he does not break.
>> Breaking is not a concept. So, you were slowing down and I was like, I'll slow down. It did not work that way.
>> My bad. I will try not to slow down as much. This thing just doesn't have the suspension.
>> Damn. So, I caused that accident low key by trying to slow down too much.
It's pretty threer. This thing has lost a lot of power.
Sorry, >> I haven't lost one.
>> Looking back at the footage, I did not realize how sour the mugs were on these these families. The kids are indifferent. They don't really care, but the the the the adults that can process what they're seeing, some electric vehicles on a walking path are not happy. And it kind of makes me wish that I had brought one of my real rippers, like an electric dirt bike, something a little more substantial because if people are already going to be pissed, it's kind of like your parents when you were growing up. The whole I'll give you something to cry about. That's my mentality towards these Karens and Darren, these adults. I'll give you something to whine about. Come on now.
Couple of guys on one wheels and me on this little dang near silent other than my tinging front rotor like little toy thing that I'm on. I I I just don't understand. The last little sentiment is that there's never any risk of us hitting these pedestrians. We We have eyeballs and can stop well in advance prior to getting to any pedestrians.
They were not happy either. Those faces are going on YouTube. Where's the park rangers when they need one? That's what they're thinking. They must not be subs subscribed to Sir Monster. They'd be really ticked. Okay, I see what we've just rode up on. I see what's going on around here.
Hey, I'm going to use this bathroom real quick. Those folks on the walking path were not looking happy.
>> Yeah. Did they say anything?
>> This thing lost so much power.
This >> is full throttle right now and it is struggling to get up to to speed. Oh, look at this. That's cool.
>> into this recreation area. What kind of [ __ ] recreation are we doing?
>> Glad this is mostly downhill cuz this thing is at half tank. She's thirsty.
I'll put her down to a low power mode like two just to save a little bit of Yeah, that that that'll save me some juice. That front rotor tinging, making a nice sound. It's like the loudest thing of our whole group.
That lady was >> The few people we ran into just aren't happy here seeing us having more fun than they are.
>> These people are like the Karens.
Put her into low power mode to save juice.
>> Going to hold it at 12:00 in case we have to turn around. I can This is the only way I can U-turn here.
That little tiny kids.
>> The loudest thing on this is the front rotor tinging right now.
>> And that rotor.
>> That's full throttle and it has barely enough torque to lift me up this incline. This is literally full throttle. Mode 4. Battery is showing very low.
Oh yeah. I can't even.
>> She's losing battery quick. I need the downhill. Excuse us. He's saying no problem, but his wife looks like like she's going to kill someone. She's going to go to her car, find the sharpest object in there, and kill someone for being on this trail.
>> I got to keep momentum up cuz if we come to a stop and I have to climb a hill with nothing but torque, I don't have the battery for it. Oh, mommy.
She's fading fast.
Throttle. Keep that momentum.
Sand wash out. I think we're almost back at the trucks. Another thing I don't like is it's showing I got half battery, but it's cutting a ton of power. Like almost as if it's about to die. So, I feel like the battery g Holy moly. The battery gauge isn't that accurate. Full throttle. Trying to get up to speed with these guys.
Oh, we will not get up this hill.
Not with the battery where it is.
Almost there.
Almost there. Come on, baby. Almost at the truck. All right. This is full throttle. She's about to leave me stranded. This is full throttle.
Limp mode or something.
>> I realized I wasn't hearing.
>> Yeah, exactly. Oh, here we go. Downhill.
Perfect timing. Right to the vehicles.
That was perfect timing. This thing's I had a full throttle trying to trying to get up to speed. Luckily, that downhill got me there. She's >> done.
>> Yeah, she's she's done. Squ >> There's no way you can wheelie that.
>> The hub motor with not enough torque.
>> Oh god.
>> The rear the rear brakes on the side with the [ __ ] throttle.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah, it sucks. That was a fun ride though, regardless.
>> Yeah. Take Betty out here next time.
>> No, I'm probably good for the day. Work on this thing and figure out why it's such a turd bucket. Next time I'll bring an emoto or something. What's talking?
>> Oh, okay. I hear a lady voice. rode 60 mi. They claimed a a range of like 42 miles or something.
