The Supreme Court of India expressed deep concern over the NEET paper leak that affected over 22.7 lakh students, stating that the nation cannot disappoint its students and that the situation is 'very traumatic' as it impacts not just students but their families, emotions, and years of study. The court criticized the ad hoc nature of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and directed the Ministry of Education to file an affidavit detailing how the NEET examination process would be institutionalized on a year-to-year basis, with the government given six weeks to respond.

Supreme Court Says NEET Paper Leak 'Traumatic', Shouldn't Disappoint Students | CNBC TV18Added:
Neat question paper leak as traumatic.
The court has said that the nation cannot disappoint its students. The National Testing Agency has outlined corrective measures. The government has said the prime minister is personally monitoring the situation. This even as the CBSC has opened the window for students to apply for re-evaluation today. Now only students who have obtained scanned copies of their answer sheets can apply for re-evaluation. So far over four lakh students have applied to access their answer sheets. Archa joins us now with more on both the exam controversies. NEIT and CBSC Archa give us an update on both.
>> Yes, let's talk about these two big headlines that we have been consistently tracking. Let's talk about NET, the medical entrance exam that got cancelled due to a paper leak and impacted over 22.7 lakh students. And on the other hand, we'll also talk about CBSC's on-screen market controversy which impacted 17 lakh students who appeared for the board examination. Let's start with the neat hearing that took place in the Supreme Court today. The top court raised concerns over the ad hoc nature of the national testing agency that conducts major entrance exams in India like NET. The top court said that unless clear accountability is fixed, the problems will recur. During the hearing today, the bench observed that the NTA needs to learn from other bodies like the UPSC which conduct large-scale competitive exams without any paper leak. The judges said, and I quote, "It is very traumatic. We cannot disappoint our students. It's not merely the student, it's the family too. It's so much emotions, love, time, years of study." The solicitor general who was representing the government told the government uh told the court that Prime Minister Modi himself is monitoring the neat retest. Uh the court has now directed the ministry of education to file a separate affidavit detailing the mechanism by which the process of conducting and concluding neat examination would be institutionalized by the NTA on a year-to-year basis. The center has six weeks to respond to this and submit the affidavit meanwhile let's talk about the CBSC. Uh the issue is getting political after over four lakh students sought review of their answer sheets amid the newly introduced on-screen marking process. Leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi has flagged that the company that got the contract to carry out the digital revaluation that's co-empt Edutech Private Limited previously operated as Globina Technologies was blacklisted during the 2019 Telangana Intermediate Exams.
Despite that this company was awarded the contract by CBSC. However, CBSC has called these allegations erroneous, misleading and not based on facts. Now, as outrage continues, Union Education Minister Dhandra Pradhan has said that he takes full responsibility and he has assured students and parents that no one will be spared if irregularities are found in the evaluation process. Back to you.
Unanswered paper scanned. And do we >> well four lakh students who took the CBSC exam have asked for a copy of their scanned answer sheets. The reevaluation process will now begin. A quick check of some of the other headlines.
