AlphaPool Launches AI ChatBot + $PRL Mining! Real PoUW Is Here Miners! Now Get Paid to use AI

[00:00:00]Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, Pearl miners of all ages, uh we have some very exciting news to share with you guys today over at Alpha Pool. And so, as we dive into that, I just want to quick go over some of the uh profitability statistics. Um I don't even know if we should refer to this as a GPU mining anymore, and you're going to see what I mean after um I give you guys the exciting news today. Um but, let's dive right in and uh go over some of the current profitability metrics for Pearl mining. Now, one of the first data points I want to take a look at is actually um this revenue per hash rate metric over on uh Pearl Scan. And um I have this toggled on the uh 48-hour metric. Um and as you can see, it will give you your revenue per hash rate. And you can actually hover your cursor over the number, and the tooltip will show you how this um data point is calculated. Now, as most of you know, uh we performed extremely well the first month or so of launch. Um and again, we um are doing decently.

[00:01:07]Now, this indicator can kind of work for you or against you as a pool if you're adding or shedding hash rate. And so, um you know, we're kind of back to where we were the first month or so uh with kind of being in the top profitability. Um and the last 3 days or so, I've actually been monitoring this closely since our hash rate stabilized, and now we're kind of adding again. Um mainly because I didn't want people to think that I was just like cherry-picking, like, "Oh, look at this, you know, tiny acute moment of time where we're doing really well. Focus only on that," which is not really what I'm about. And so, I actually uh been taking screenshots of this over the last 3 days. This is me and my kids' uh Discord conversation.

[00:01:48]And so, you can see, this was yesterday morning, so that was already like a day or so in. Um and you know, we were kind of we're kind of crushing it again. It's kind of back to where it was um where staying kind of like the top revenue uh per hash rate uh pool. And so you could see this is yesterday at 3:44.

[00:02:08]Um we're kind of holding steady there.

[00:02:10]And um then again last night at 11:44.

[00:02:14]Um same same deal. So I just kind of was like let me just monitor this over time.

[00:02:18]And so we're about 3 days and we've just kind of regained that longer run status of kind of like top revenue per hash rate pool on the network. And what I think is really important is that if you just kind of stretch this out over like a 30-day time span, um things kind of tend to be decently similar. And so what you're going to want to look at um for just kind of like getting your maximum efficiency and profitability is like making sure that your pool fee is, you know, pretty low and solid. We're going to be running with a 1% pool fee now that the 0% promotion is over. Um and the other thing that I think is very important in addition to this, you know, kind of like um you know, revenue per hash rate metric is the miner software, right? And so we've been pushing a lot of updates to the Alpha miner software. And um I need to bench against the rest of the other ones cuz it's been about 2 days and you know, a lot happens in 2 days. But as of the recording of this video, uh which it is currently 11:40 EST on June 19th, um it is uh the case that we are on par or, you know, on par with the fastest or the fastest uh top way there's just like a constant neck and neck between the top like three, if you will. And so um things are looking really good and interesting for Pro Mining. I'm about to get to the very fantastic news, but I just want to like take a second here and make a pass at like hashrate.no and the fact that at my house I had 16 cents a kilowatt hour.

[00:03:46]And this is new. This is fresh, right?

[00:03:48]Like this is this is 16 cents a kilowatt hour. And at the Pearl price of, you know, I think I believe it's about 62 cents here, 63 cents, a 5090 is doing 750 a day, which is just kind of pretty pretty wild to look at. You know, there's been a lot of flash in the pan, like it's profitable for a day or two, you know, but this is kind of like interesting to me, very interesting.

[00:04:13]And you know, knowing that your old 3000 series cards are clocking like over a dollar a day, it's just it's just cool. It's cool to see. Recording this now cuz I want to look back on it. Maybe it will still be going for a while, but this is the longest run I've ever seen in, you know, post ETH era, I think, of GPUs kind of being somewhat relevant in like a mining capacity. However, this is not your average mining situation. And so now, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, I would like to get into the main purpose of today's video.

[00:04:47]As of right now, you can actually do the useful part of the proof of useful work.

[00:04:54]And on your currently profitable Pearl mining GPUs at Alpha Pool, you can also now run your AI chatbot while mining.

[00:05:04]Yes, that's right. You can be making $6 a day on your 5090 and also use the AI inference, right? And so, instead of paying Anthropic, you could just stop paying for it and instead get paid for your GPU mining Pearl every day, five, six, seven dollars a day right now, and use your chatbot.

[00:05:26]So, this is crazy. And when we first launched the pool, there was a lot of pushback, like, oh, this is another, you know, proof of useful work kind of scam.

[00:05:35]And you know, things felt a lot different to me than that. And so, here we are with an implementation of, you know, an actual AI chatbot. And let's just take a second and stop and give a huge shout out to Jonathan from Kauai because this was all him, right? I set up the pool originally, but Jonathan is the one who has been building this minor software and who has integrated an AI chatbot, I believe running Kwen, to the mining software. So, this is huge. So, if you see Jonathan, this guy, he's a certified badass. So, I just literally want to take a second and say that so everybody knows what he has done here today. And now, let's show you using your currently mining GPU also having the ability to serve as your AI chatbot. So, here I am in the pearl.alphapool.tech/chat and I'm going to copy and paste my pearl address, the worker name, and the password that I set.

[00:06:44]And so, I just want to show you guys monitoring the logs here. It was printing these real fast. This is my first time running this locally, so this is my 5090 and it is just kind of running and mining here.

[00:06:57]And so, let's go ahead and I'm going to copy and paste my information in here.

[00:07:01]So, I'm going to put in my address, my worker name here, and then this is just like a dummy test. I'm going to reset all this once we have everything going, and my password.

[00:07:13]And so, it looks like I'm connected.

[00:07:16]That is my hash rate. Man, this is wild.

[00:07:19]So, I'm going to literally talk to my mining GPU as if it's a chatbot. It's going to be mining and I'm going to talk to it. Here we go.

[00:07:27]All right, so I want to be able to monitor the miner as I do the chat. So, let's just do hello.

[00:07:34]What model are you running?

[00:07:38]Holy crap.

[00:07:41]Look at that. We are currently talking to our profitable 5090 that is running. Hello, I'm Quinn. Look at that is insane. And I can actually see my minor pool side as well. I just changed the name on stuff. So, you know, the these haven't lined up quite yet. But there you have it.

[00:08:01]I am talking to my currently mining GPU.

[00:08:06]And as you can see the hash rate goes down a tiny bit on that first load. And so we were we're doing AI inference while we're mining. And so, you know, that is going to cost a little bit of hash rate as you mine.

[00:08:30]Wow, pretty fascinating right here.

[00:08:33]So, just watching it use tokens and you can see as it's thinking the hash rate is is impacted by this.

[00:08:42]Wow, pretty cool.

[00:08:46]This this is insane. Insane.

[00:08:51]Look at it go. This costs no I'm getting paid to do this right now. Literally getting paid to use AI inference on my 5090 that is also mining. Still mining.

[00:09:01]So, very cool.

[00:09:03]Now I want to show you guys how you can do this as well. So, it gave me my answer back. It's pretty snappy and quick there. It even caught my typo and no knew that I meant matrix multiplication on the Pearl project.

[00:09:16]Hash rate came right back to normal after the AI inference was I can't even tell you how exciting this is. This is wild, right? Literally profitably mining Pearl whilst also doing something useful. Running AI inference in a chatbot. So, let's show you guys how to get this set up on your own GPUs. All right. So, the first thing that you're going to want to do is actually come on over to my main website, my alphamine.tech website, and go to the blog section. I just pushed a tutorial showing us how we can chat with our currently profitable Pearl miners. Um and so, I'm going to be making some edits to this blog post. I literally just got this up. I want to do it quick, so you guys will be able to click the link in the video description below, and this is going to have all the commands that we would copy and paste.

[00:10:04]So, this is going to be a little bit nicer looking than a Google Doc. So, I'm using a 5090. Um you are going to want to make sure you have some free disk space as well on the server that you're using. Now, let's go through how you guys can get this set up. So, this should be very simple for you guys. Uh step zero is verifying that we actually have a 5090 with the proper driver on our box. So, I do in fact have the 5090 with the enough space for this to go on.

[00:10:32]So, I want to make sure that I have Docker installed. So, we're going to just, you know, check and make sure that I do in fact have Docker installed, which I know that I do. So, if you guys don't, just use this curl command and make sure that you get Docker installed.

[00:10:47]Now, you're also going to need the uh Nvidia container toolkit. So, make sure that you check before you do so. So, um I'm going to check, and I do already have it. And so, if you do not, just copy and paste these commands, and you will be good to go. Now, we need Docker to be able to see our uh GPU for this.

[00:11:07]So, we're going to do Docker run and let it check and make sure that it can in fact, there it is, see our GPU. This is the same thing that you'll get when you do Nvidia SMI. Now, um we're going to create a directory for the model itself, right? So, again, we are just literally copying pasting commands here. Um and we have now made that directory. Um and so, make sure that you're not any other miner, right? So, my GPU is doing something here, so I'm going to make sure that that is stopped. And now, um, I know that my machine is clear, so I am going to launch the inference in a, uh, tmux session here. Um, this looks good. You're going to want to edit this a little bit, so let's just go ahead and get this in here.

[00:11:53]Um, so I need to do my pearl Let me Let me make this a little bigger so everybody can see this clearly. So, you can actually, if you want to, what I would recommend here is once you get to step six, um, copy and paste this command out into a notepad or right into your terminal if you're comfortable editing it there, and then you are going to want to change these settings to your rig name, which I will do, uh, P, um, uh, five 50. I'm just going to do 5090, so we're going to do P5090, um, my rig password, which I'm just going to set to 5090 right now just for this test, and then you're going to want to do your pearl address. And so, I'm going to copy and paste that in there for this flag here. Um, and it's going to create a tmux session named inference, and then it's going to, uh, run this on all GPUs, which I only have the one, and it looks good to go, so you know, I'm just taking a second, double-checking that command, and then we should run it.

[00:12:52]Now, we should be able to check our tmux sessions, and there it is. So, you know, that was tmux LS, and that'll show you what you have running. tmux attach {hyphen} T, and then I'm going to connect to inference. Uh, if you don't have tmux installed, just do apt install tmux. And there we go. So, it is pulling, um, it's a 23 gig, um, image, so it'll take a second depending on your internet speed, so just let that run, which it is. You can monitor your download over here, or however you monitor downloads, um, and, uh, we're just going to give that a second and let it do its pull.

[00:13:27]Okay, so it has completed now. It looks like the download. I just want to show you guys some of the log prints here and then I'm trying to make sure that the notes are all here. So in step six is where the download actually starts.

[00:13:40]>> [clears throat] >> So I expect this to be about an 8-minute process. I'm about like 3 minutes in.

[00:13:45]All right, and so the pull has finished and it does look like it is compiling and getting ready to start [clears throat] mining. So we're just going to monitor this for a second here.

[00:13:58]Yes, and there you have it. So it's been just about 8 minutes total and we have now started mining. And you can see this 5090 is getting 370 terahash.

[00:14:12]This T max is your hash rate right here.

[00:14:14]And it is going to mine and we are going to check pool side now and see if we can see our GPU and then we will start to use the chat bot like I showed you in the other video. So let's just go ahead and pull this over. So that was the completion of step six, right? We're in this T max session watching and monitoring and we don't we can see it, right? This is it. This is what it looks like when we're mining and that's it, right? Now we can head on over into pearl.alphapool.tech/chat. So I'm just going to go ahead and click on this. Um and this is that old session I was showing you. So I'm actually going to go ahead and delete that. So I'm just going to come over here and I do in fact see my worker.

[00:14:58]So I'm just verifying that you know, I am submitting hash rate pool side.

[00:15:03]And now I'm going to do my worker name.

[00:15:06]I have my address and then I just made that password 5090 and let's see if this works.

[00:15:14]All right, here we go. So we can see our T max here. Let me just show you. So actually have NVTop open and you can see kind of the GPU in here working. Um and uh this is it. Now we have our model open. This should work just like it was before. So, let's just do this again.

[00:15:38]So, I actually just wanted to show you the GPU working here. Um it's it's pretty snappy. This is insane.

[00:15:45]I still can't believe that like this GPU is currently making $5 a day while it is also doing the thing I pay Anthropic for. Um so, what can you tell me about matrix mult- Why do I always spell that wrong? Matrix multiplication and the Pearl project Pearl blockchain project?

[00:16:11]Boom. And it is thinking. So, this is the mining.

[00:16:15]And here it goes. So, that first load uh that should take a little bit longer.

[00:16:20]This is insane. Uh so, here we are. We are officially mining. That is how you do it, folks. Um I'm going to continue playing with this and see how we can push this model. Um and then I'm going to be making some updates to the front here. So, yeah. I actually just added this. So, now you don't have to um you know, highlight and copy.
