The CDL’s rigid franchise structure has created a stagnant ecosystem where financial risk-aversion is systematically killing competitive integrity. This breakdown exposes the failure of a closed-circuit model that prioritizes corporate stability over the high-stakes meritocracy that drives viewership.

Hello. Hello. How are we?
>> What up, boys? What up, boys?
>> Good.
>> Good. I'm uh I'm here in Houston, Texas with uh with Francis.
>> [ __ ] yeah.
>> How is it?
>> I'm I'm staying down the road from him.
>> He pulled >> Not even in the same hotel.
>> Pulled a move on me, Jar.
>> Why didn't he Why weren't you guys in the same? What happened?
>> He said He said >> I had enough for him.
>> He said the the the hotel uh that the club provides isn't up to his standards.
M.
>> So, he left he left me in that hotel and uh he's down the road at the Four Seasons.
>> Oh, wow. Four Se I never I don't think I've stayed in the Four Seasons, but I've heard great things.
>> Oh, it's beautiful.
>> He made sure >> I don't think I have either. I don't really know what the what what how good can a hotel get, though. That's my question.
>> He made He made sure to give me the tour.
>> Oh, surprise. He hadn't come by.
>> Brought me over. goes, "Look at how nice this is." I mean, he's staying in like an apartment. It's It's pretty much an apartment.
>> Like a beautiful apartment.
>> Yeah. He's big on the hotel. He always does that. He said he'd rather upgrade the hotel than the flight. I'm the opposite. I'll sleep on a [ __ ] bench.
>> But if I'm But I need that I need that flight upgraded.
>> Oh, yeah. Dude, we we we went by where we stayed at in Houston cuz we went to a movie theater and I Oh, yeah.
>> I was showing him the underpass that we had to walk through to get to the club >> um and the hotel and all he said was, "Yeah, I would have killed myself."
>> So, >> it was really bad. It was really uh dark weekend out in Houston.
>> Yeah. Yeah. But then, uh you know, so the sever hotel is whatever. This is I'm in a beautiful hotel apparently. This isn't up to his standards.
>> It looks nice in the back.
>> Yeah, it looks great.
>> [ __ ] gorgeous. It's bigger. Bigger than my apartment.
>> That's nice.
>> What's he looking for?
>> Look at this. Look at this. I'm going to take you guys on a little tour here.
>> What does Francis need that is not in that room?
>> Probably needs the bed that adjusts that like buttons.
>> I got like >> pushes you up.
>> I got a private [ __ ] >> Wait. Not bad. bare minimum though.
>> And then the walk the walk-in shower.
>> Oh, hell yeah. It's a nice shower.
>> Great shower.
>> It's big.
>> Yeah. So, like And then this is the weird part. I'll show you the weird part.
It's >> like a little closet.
>> Wa.
>> I mean, that's kind of That's kind of cool.
>> Yeah. But it's >> I've never seen that ever.
>> It's kind of some freak [ __ ] though.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. In case you want people to watch while you're showering.
>> Yeah.
>> I need to watch my wife shower.
Yeah.
>> But all in all, solid solid. Oh, and uh you know, Francis has his signature. He has a bit about uh getting the pool view.
I'm just on I'm on the pool deck.
>> Yeah, you're on deck.
>> Go for a swim at all or No, >> I was thinking about it. I I might I was going to today, but it's just pissing out. Um >> Oh, yeah. And uh it is funny because there's people out there most of the time just blasting music. Uh I'm just chilling in here. But um solid weekend in Houston. He uh and one more Francis thing. All love to Francis. He did invite guests to the show last night, bring them back to the green room, and then in front of me said, "I we we have to go get dinner." And then left me out of the dinner. That did happen. I'm just going to >> Damn, that's ruthless.
>> Couldn't even bring you along for the dinner.
>> No, it was >> not even feeding his guys on the road.
>> Leaving me out to dry. I had to eat I I ate I ate gas station donuts for dinner last night and then and he >> I heard I heard.
>> Tough.
>> Yeah, it >> could learn something from the bush being the guys on the road, man.
>> Of course.
>> It's all we do.
>> All we do is buy food.
>> Yeah.
We're we're adult.
>> Is he Is he compensating you for the for the, you know, for the performances you're doing on stage and uh the travel and all that stuff, >> I think. So, yeah, we'll see. We'll see what shakes out uh at the end. Um but uh yeah, he he had he invited his YouTube golf buddy to the show and apparently I wasn't worth the dinner invite.
>> Oh yeah, they're talking strategy.
>> Talking strat for the next invitational.
>> Yep. Brad Daly, shout out Brad. He seems like a good guy, but I didn't make the cut. I didn't make the cut. So, >> good guy, but likes to roll with the tight circle.
>> Yeah, >> just two guys. Just two dudes.
>> Sticks with the rich.
>> Oh, but uh yeah, the budget, man. The the budget's coming up. We we talked about it like uh sometimes the bush trips feel like uh we're taking a group of dudes on like an adult field trip.
Well, I think the word we used was an all-inclusive vacation, >> which is what it is. That's what it has turned into for some of the for some of the guys.
>> Everyone's working while we're out there. It's just we realize that we're paying for probably an unnecessary amount of stuff.
Like they are going to eat food regardless if we provide every and we're not talking about the team. We're talking about the 15 guys that we're traveling with.
>> And if the circle can just keeps getting bigger, getting bigger, >> but like not like everyone like we're we'll still, you know, we'll still feed the boys. We'll still take care of some of the guys, but there's going to be, you know, hey, throw me a Venmo for that. I'm going to need a Venmo.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. It's >> We're not We're not making money on this.
>> No.
>> Losing losing money. losing bleeding money.
>> I'm I'm in low cash mode currently again.
>> Oh yeah, I'm living in low cash mode right now.
>> Yeah, there's no cash to be had.
>> Uh but yeah, but uh >> tax season two.
>> Oh, don't even >> I'm just It's a It's over. I'm I'm I'm [ __ ] right now. I'm in a bad spot.
>> Yeah. Yeah. I had a good tax session, though.
>> I had a good tax session this year.
>> Yeah. Surprisingly, >> Jerry Jerry did his taxes in front of me in the car.
Oh, hell yeah. You You use Turboax?
>> No, the guy the guy just called me like >> Yeah, he goes over everything with me.
Good guy.
>> Solid, >> you know.
>> That's solid.
>> I didn't find I'm a good guy.
>> Yeah, I was just like baffled. You know, last year you Oh, this year you don't know. I just I don't know how it works, but good year.
>> You don't know. Oh, you don't know anything?
>> Apparently not.
>> You're going to jail for sure. going to prison. So Moo said in the car, he's like, "You're 100% going to prison for this."
>> Jerry's owed thousands somehow. And I'm like, "What scheme is going on here?"
>> You must have overpaid last year.
>> Yeah, I probably did overpay cuz I got buried last year.
>> Yeah, that's what happened to me this year. Hopefully next year's a little better.
>> Yeah, for everything. Yeah, they alternate every, you know, they get like banging and like I give him a break next year, you know, >> make him make him think make him think he's doing good and then the following year [ __ ] crumple.
>> Yeah. Yeah. That's what they did to this year. They just I mean they may as well have just come in and just started taking things out of the house.
>> Oh yeah. Yeah. They they think they're >> pulling furniture out.
>> They think they're getting something from me. They there's nothing to take.
So I mean it's it's it is what it is.
like I I'll pay you when I when I when I when I pay you. You know, >> you know what I always wondered is like I mean this is this is probably going to get clipped and whatever the case may be. I'll probably get railroaded for this, but like what are they going to do?
>> What like what are you what are you going to do?
>> Uh >> don't they just go after celebrities?
>> No, I got I got targeted. I got hit. I got hit two years ago. Uh uh >> bro I actually so two years ago I got in like such a [ __ ] up with my taxes my accountant so it's different like when you do like all the standup stuff you're charged as like your tax is like an independent contractor for standup >> I have to pay Yeah. So I got to pay taxes in like all of the states that I perform in.
>> And something happened where like me and my accountant just weren't on the same page at all. He sent me back my tax filing and he only had my he only had two dates and I did 32 weekends that that year. So I was like, "Okay, so I'm going to have to redo this entire thing." I was late as [ __ ] They emailed uh HR at Barto Stool and said that they were going to freeze my paychecks until I paid like x amount of money. And it was like only like this was like it was well less than like a year late. Like it was probably like four or 5 months.
>> Holy [ __ ] >> Damn.
>> Yeah.
>> The IRS or was it your account?
>> The IRS. The IRS.
>> That's scary.
>> Wow. I just always thought it took takes like 10 years to get to.
>> Same with me. Yeah.
>> Especially if you're like guys like us and like not like celebrities, you know, Hollywood.
>> Yeah. Not [ __ ] have billions of dollars hidden away.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. It's not like none of us are going to owe millions of dollars in taxes, you know? It's like >> Yeah. They came for me. They came for me quick, but I'm on a good better better uh terms with the IRS now.
>> Good. They took everything.
>> I'm surprised, too, cuz you figured they'd be like so backed up from like co and [ __ ] you know?
>> Yeah.
>> It's crazy.
>> I know.
>> They're on it.
>> They They saw that tour schedule and they said, "We're coming."
>> Yeah.
>> Collect.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. Tough.
>> Yeah. Um but yeah, we're floating around. How did uh Jerry, shout out the cold calls, man. Uh you you you crushed it. I think you might have helped the budget. Seems like we got a couple uh couple restaurants on board.
>> Yeah. So we got um >> was that a binder?
>> Uh just Yeah, just uh we got Mr. Fries, the dean from there. Got his contact. Um >> he's he's pretty much said the owner is going to be very interested in this. And then we got uh Claude, if you know, from the Marietta Diner. He was all in. Um I'm in Claude the [ __ ] AI. And I WAS LIKE, "DAMN, NO, NO, >> that's a big that's a big cold call."
You know, so like I'm in a text thread with him and his uh the owner of the diner, Gus. And then we had um the pizza place, which it was I don't want to mispronounce this name here, Dooos with Allison. Um I got a call with with her uh this week coming up. And then last but not least, the um what is it? Battle and Brew.
>> Battle and Brew. Yes.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Battle and Brew. So that's uh we we look pretty good. Um we Oh, and and to mention, I forgot about this. Um Bonefish Grill.
>> Bonefish Grill. Yeah, they want to they want to do one dinner, which would be incredible. I love the Bone Fish. Shout out to Muscles Josephine. If you know, you know. If you don't, you just don't.
But >> do you actually eat bone fish there?
Or is that just the name of the restaurant?
>> That's the name of the restaurant. Yeah, got it. Bone Yeah, Bone Fish Grill. Um, it's pretty it's pretty I've always enjoyed it. Uh, it's a pretty good spot.
Um, somebody who works um in marketing hit me up privately on the on the Instagram and he wants to do a dinner one night. So, that would be pretty [ __ ] sick. So, yeah, you know, we might be able to get a couple meals and uh everything looking good. The battle and brute thing though, I'm excited about that. I hope that comes through.
Yeah.
>> Yeah, that would be awesome.
>> That would be sick. And we could open that to like the public.
>> Yeah. We'll see what what he says. We should hop on a call with him, you know, this this week.
>> Yeah. Yeah. That was uh that that was like good business, Jared. You were doing good business >> uh on the phone helping out the budget cuz we we do have to get like a finalized. This budget's going to be weird, right? because there's a scenario where we qualify for the prom which reduces cost and eliminates the need for a pre-land but we could still do battle and brew if we have it and then if we don't qualify for the prom our costs go up because they don't pay for players flights.
>> Um so a lot is in the balance with the the proam contingency uh with the budget and content. So, we're kind of we're kind of, you know, I'm I'm making one budget and one content plan for ProAm, one for not ProAm. Um, should I just say the number we're looking at?
>> If you want to.
>> I think people want to know.
>> Yeah. Well, sure, why not? It's fair.
the the the number we're at that we think is the high-end budget that we will not go anywhere near uh is $20,000 >> with flights stay >> flights B&B rental cars food miscellaneous housing supplies >> what did we go over in Birmingham like what was the number that we surpassed some somehow we hit 30K in Birmingham.
>> Yeah. Which which which isn't accurate because Lucy paid 15,000 for that trip.
>> Yes. Yes.
>> Which which was never which was never even like a thing in that meeting by the way.
>> No.
>> Yeah.
>> Which was but we I think we did go like over budget for sure but like Lucy's 15K was never mentioned once in that meeting.
>> Yeah. Yeah. I'm just thinking like logistically like uh do we think that we're going to stay below 20?
>> Yes, >> I think so. Yeah, I think so.
>> I mean, obviously like flights will be way cheaper.
>> Yeah.
>> Um >> I don't think Atlanta's that expensive to eat either.
>> Yeah, >> I could be wrong. I could be wrong. I've been there.
>> I mean, it just depends on how many guys we're feeding.
>> Yeah.
>> So, that's also >> We got to probably have a team team meeting with like It's just going to be tough. Like if we got 15 guys, like what are we going to go down the row and be like, "Okay, you're getting food. You're getting food. You're getting food yourself. You're getting food."
>> It's going to be going to be a tough meeting. Tough call.
>> Yeah, we're we're going to have to give them like like chips like you can cash in a a meal tonight kind of thing.
>> We're Yeah, honestly, we'll have to have some sort of system.
>> Yeah. Have like have like Swaggy on the couch like salivating at the chicken parm or something.
just dying for >> Yeah. Like, what time's your food getting here?
>> I I had dinner with Swaggy. We had a We had a nice dinner together, me and Swaggy. Good time. Good time.
>> You guys watched uh grand finals.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Broke some bread. It was good.
>> Not bad.
>> You guys watching any of the COD today?
>> No.
>> Yeah. I got it on my other screen right now.
>> Haven't seen today. I uh me me and Francis just hit a afternoon uh Project Hail Mary screening. You guys see that?
>> No. No. I was wondering what you were seeing though. I just saw the drama with that new Zenaia movie.
>> Yeah, I I heard that is okay. But Project Hail Mary was [ __ ] unreal.
Highly recommend uh anyone out there to go to go see that. But uh speaking of CDL though, Lou with the debut yesterday.
>> Yep. Yeah. He uh >> Tippy >> Tippy fried. Uh they lost 3-1. Um but it's good to see him as a Raven.
>> Yeah, he came out hot yesterday, too.
Came out real hot.
>> I think they were saying on the broadcast, I couldn't tell if they were being sarcastic or not or or if they weren't positive, but it sounded like they were saying that he broke the record for most time on Hill in a game >> that map one.
>> Yeah. I mean, he had 2 minutes and 52. I He had like more time than you, I think, than you have to get to win. I was a little thrown off.
>> Well, 252 would be 172 seconds.
>> Okay. Yeah, that makes sense. So, he was on it for almost the entire game.
>> Yeah.
>> 60 seconds short.
>> It's wild.
>> Yeah. Roughly, >> it's [ __ ] insane. that you think that was their like game plan just going in just hey Lou just stay on the hill.
>> It could be. I mean I think when you're if you join like a new if you join a team and you're like uh the only new guy on the team then yeah that definitely happens.
>> Yeah.
>> Go yeah go soak go soak.
>> Like I remember when his debut last year when he was playing for Toronto I remember he was on the hill just the entire time >> just frying.
>> He also Yeah. He went 22 and 13 on that map.
Yeah. Yeah, we went crazy.
>> But, uh, I mean, Jerry, you kind of you spilled the beans a little bit, but it was like I would have done the same thing if I was on a podcast prior to this one. Uh, the buyout situation with Lou.
>> Yeah, tough, man. Um, you know, I think their team had communication with Jace.
The only thing I really remember is them just saying like, "Hey, it's going to be zero dollars. there's a 0% chance we're paying for a buyout. Um, kind of took off. The clip kind of took off, which I didn't think it would like go crazy cuz like I feel like that's been like talked about before in like challengers and pros. I I don't know. I really don't know. But it kind of took off and like people from the CDL community were like pissed at Carolina like really bad. U rightfully so though. They're they're they're scumbags. Um, you know, I feel like every team in the CDL that like is like that, uh, are just pieces of [ __ ] You know, teams who don't just like aren't like standup orgs. They don't like try to get better. You know what I mean? Like there's a lot of teams like that in there. They just are okay being dog [ __ ] Like those teams shouldn't shouldn't have a spot in the league.
>> Yeah. I mean, I think that's why the CDL just doesn't work how it is right now. I mean, you're seeing it watching these maps or these these online matches. It's 3 0 every map >> or every series. It's like >> if you have a team in the league that is saying that they're going to that they that they are not willing to spend more than zero dollars on a buyout, that's like so then what's the point of the league? Like like we like we've offered to spend more than like Austin was trying to buy a Luca out like two months into this thing. Yeah.
>> So, it's like if we're a challengers team and we're we could buy out a player, how are there teams in the pro league that are just straight up like we're not paying buyouts that that paid millions and millions and millions of dollars to get a spot in a CDL spot, which is >> it's just crazy. Half of them suck. Half of them don't post a [ __ ] thing on YouTube, Twitter. They didn't even have a graphic for Lou. Yeah.
>> [ __ ] scumbags. I mean, just pieces of [ __ ] bro. They they straight up they straight up said they wouldn't even trial him.
>> Yeah.
>> If if we So like us in the moment are like, "Okay, we're not going to like >> like Lou's had like a crazy career path and like got [ __ ] early on." Like we're not going to we're not going to be like Lou, you can't trial. Like that that would be bad on us.
>> Yeah. Exactly.
>> But like >> Yeah. I mean it put us in a tough spot too because it's like well we can't release Lou to Carolina for nothing in return. like we're not getting we're not gaining anything from that. We're not like >> so it just puts us in an insanely tough position. Like obviously like we would have ideally liked Lou to not have to pay his own buyout.
>> Yeah. Benj Benj said like that on the flank. He's like well they could have just you know just like released him and have no buyout, you know, and let him go. It's just like >> but it's like why are we bailing out CDL teams? That's the thing that makes no sense.
>> Yeah. Yeah. And then you >> the problem we've had with every team that we've that we've talked to.
>> Yeah.
>> Even if there's been like back and forth on the buyout or like just delaying sending the buyout, >> if we let him go, we open the door for every other team to be like, "Well, you didn't you didn't you didn't get us on you didn't get the money for Lou." So like, >> exactly. Yeah.
>> It's like, no. like the the there is a drop down effect from if CDL teams don't pay buyouts then challengers orgs like us have less funding to even like get quality players and send them to majors.
So it's like >> what the [ __ ] going on here? The whole the whole thing's broken.
>> I mean just I mean you know like we we like we lost money regardless you know what I mean? like between flights, food, PC parts for Lou, like we lo we spent more than 2K, you know what I mean?
>> Easily.
>> Oh, yeah. Definitely.
>> It's just like, hey, that's just something good to get in return, you know, to give us a little something, you know, back.
>> Yeah.
>> Just, you know, these these these teams, dude, they're just pieces of [ __ ] scumbags, dude.
>> Yeah, >> they really they really are.
>> You know what's funny?
>> It's just like >> is I thought I thought Carolina they they have one guy that runs the whole program, by the way. So like >> socials, everything.
>> He's the coach, the [ __ ] social media manager. He's an analyst. Like I I do feel for that guy. Like obviously he's not the one in charge of the money. Like it's the guys above him.
>> But I was like, >> he like told Jace he's like, >> "Okay, like the Bush can announce this.
Like we'll go off of like Bush's announcement. Like we like that you guys are going to announce it." And I was like, "Okay, like maybe like they kind of get the social media part, right?"
And then we announce it and then they announce it going off our post because the reason they did that was because they had no graphic.
>> Oh yeah.
>> Oh yeah.
>> The reason they wanted us to announce first is because they didn't even have a graphic to announce them to the team.
>> Yeah. They can't even they can't even pay a guy on Twitter like 50 bucks to whip up a quick graphic or just type in the chat GBT. You know what I mean? GPT, whatever the [ __ ] it is.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. I mean, the way that it comes off is like there must be like obviously like we've already heard rumors of teams that want out and are trying to get out, but like there's got to be like I if I had to guess, I would say there's probably over four teams that are trying to get out of the league.
>> Yes.
>> Because it does like they they what must be happening is like someone at like what you said Moo like it's clearly not the head coach of the Ravens that's like we're not spending any money. Like he definitely wants the team to be good and to win >> for sure. So, it's like it's got to be just these high up people who bought in years ago for the CDL and now they're like, "We're putting a full freeze on spending." Like, finish the season out.
We're not spending any more money. But it's like, dude, it's so detrimental to the product of the CDL.
>> Yeah.
>> Like, it's like >> Yeah.
>> And it's the same thing with like what we've been saying even with just the skill gap. Like every player that we've had go in to the league from our team has played phenomenal on the team in the CDL. So it's like they're just you're just missing out on so many better players because of this like dumb 12 league or 12 team league. Like it's just a terrible way the way it's set up is brutal.
>> It's tough.
>> Yeah, it's [ __ ] It's [ __ ] Um and there's really no answer, >> dude. Like if you're an Optic fan right now, the last time you saw Optic play was Major 2.
>> Yeah, >> they play they play once this weekend and it's the it's Sunday night.
>> Yeah.
>> Like what is that? Like baseball teams play more than that.
>> Yeah, it it should be it should be all tournaments. Uh it should be like like you were saying, Sass, you were like every every match today is like 3 0.
Like where is the what are we doing here? Like COD is cool and like I I love like watching pros play it, but it's like there needs to be some stakes or we're just watching we're you know what I mean? We're not really watching much.
It's not that >> I think Challengers is undeniably a better product than this EDL right now.
>> Yeah, it definitely is.
>> It's more competitive. There's more there's way more matches. There's way more online because they're all tournaments.
>> Yeah.
Yeah, I don't know.
>> League matches got to go.
>> Do do like teams like I don't know. Like I'll always be a fan of like the Steelers and whatnot. You know what I mean? But like >> are there like diehard fans of like could you imagine like a diehard fan of the Surge or like Boston? Like just how just how they feel like right now? Like how do you like you got to feel terrible?
>> Oh yeah.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> Yeah. I mean it would be like I don't even know what the comparison would be to the NFL. Do they just stop watching?
Do they just like stop like airing? You know what I mean?
>> I mean, I'd imagine it's like the Panthers like two years ago when like there was they were they were giving their tickets away for like 25 cents.
>> Like they just had to get anyone there.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> I mean, Dan Dandro said it in your interview, Jerry. He was like, "I'm one of the four Boston Breach fans."
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> And it's like, damn, dude. Like this is th this league should be so much better because a lot of people still care about it even though it's [ __ ] it's a hell hole.
>> Yeah.
>> Like it like there's still a lot of concurrence in all of these streams. So like >> it's got to get fixed soon or more and more people are going to be dropping from from just caring about it.
>> Well, it ain't going to get fixed until the CDL's done. Yeah, that's pretty much what everyone's waiting for is it to just run out. I mean, dude, like I was said telling you guys this morning I was watching [ __ ] I woke up put on YouTube there's over 120,000 people watching the semifinals of a Counterstrike match.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> And it's like the like right now on the CDL league there's 10,000 people watching. So they have nine oh or I guess no they have 110,000 more concurrent viewers than Call of Duty does and it's strictly because of the tournament. There's nothing on the line here. Who who gives a [ __ ] who wins these games?
>> Yeah. Nothing. Not a [ __ ] thing.
>> Yeah. It really doesn't even the this major too know like everyone's going >> Yeah. Yeah. So it's like okay like seating sure but even then even when you think about that it's like well it's going to be optic phase thieves >> there's never there's no upsets nothing like it's not like these other teams just can literally not beat the top teams.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. Like there's like it would be cool if it was like you went to the tur you went to the major and it was like oh [ __ ] [ __ ] Serge just beat Optic and and sent them home, but in a million years that's never going to happen.
>> No. No.
>> Teams might come Yeah. Teams might like they might might come close like online here and there. Very few and far between. They'll they'll steal a map or two or even a series. But um yeah, just this this the gap is just it's just it's just tough to watch, dude. It's tough to watch. Like the nothing interesting is happening right now. Like nothing at all, >> you know? And it's weird because I don't feel that way when we watch challengers at all.
>> Yeah, me either.
>> Maybe it's cuz we have more on the like we're invested in it directly, but I don't know. I mean, it it's just >> Yeah, it's it doesn't matter. this just like and and even like if you think about it too it's like so say like Carolina they've been like a good online team even pre like preloo they were a good online team >> but like they're only they were only a really good online team because they have I mean they have a solid team but they also have lurks who's insane >> but it's like so then what's going to happen with Lurks at the end of this season he's not going to stay on Carolina like there's no there's no like oh I'm a I'm a fan of the Oilers because McDavid's on the Oilers like Lurks is just going to get grabbed by the best team of that he can get.
>> Yeah.
>> Like he's not going to stay at Carolina's going to be >> there's there's no way >> he's not getting attached to these guys these teams.
>> Exactly. Because Lur isn't isn't in his head being like, "Well, I'm a homegrown Carolina guy."
>> Yeah.
>> No, they don't even have They have one guy [ __ ] [ __ ] doing everything over there and no money. So it's like why would he want to be loyal to like and be like come get guys in with me if that's not it's not even possible.
>> Yeah. It does it doesn't make sense.
It's just like it's it's not set up for growth.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. They >> especially when you got team like the C9 team, right? Aren't they like paying below minimum wage?
>> Yeah. Yeah. They're like just not even getting paid. They're getting paid.
They're getting paid like based on how many skins they which that should just be illegal.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> How many skins they sell.
>> Yeah. That's tough. No.
>> How many do you think they've sold?
>> 20.
>> Seven.
>> I don't even know if they've sold 20.
>> No.
>> No. It's tough.
>> And then and whatever. Maybe they did.
What if they sold 10 is probably just You got a couple guys that don't even know Call of Duty CDL. They're like, "Oh, I like that color. That's a cool color."
>> Um, so yeah, it's a the whole league's a mess. It's a mess. But I mean, the Bush Bush businesswise, um, we're cooking. I shout out to all the unshaven man, the the Kraken deal, which we already talked about earlier in the episode. Like, that's massive. Like, and and that's big. I wanted to say this during the Austin meeting, but so much was going through my head. Like, that's all because people bought into the brand, right? Like we obviously put effort in, but like >> shout out to everyone that's [ __ ] supported us along this way because that deal doesn't happen without people getting in the live streams and people liking a tweet and people liking the stream. So like shout out to everyone, man. Like all the unshaven like that deal that we got from Kraken helps us do more um and and a lot more is coming. So use code backbush, promo code uh back to bush for $25 in free Bitcoin. Um, >> I was even talking to Dandro on um his podcast with Enigma and >> I was just telling him like he's like, "Oh, did you like know you guys were going to like pop off as soon as you started this?" And I was like, it's like kind of the opposite. Like, >> yeah, >> I I thought it was just like, "Hey, this will be a fun little avenue to go down, you know, probably do okay. Maybe not the best and who knows, maybe it'll be dead in a year or whatever." But, dude, it it's been it's been wild. Like I don't think people realize um enough of like dude we went from like 40 people watching in tryyous to like 90,000 views on YouTube on videos, bro.
Like that's that's pretty pretty big jump in [ __ ] six, seven months, dude.
That's [ __ ] nuts.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. It's pretty crazy how fast it uh worked out. Um, yeah. I mean, I don't think any of us thought I don't think any of us thought the reaction from the actual COD community was going to be so positive either.
>> No. Yeah.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Just be like I thought they were just going to like ignore us. Just be like, "Yeah, don't even acknowledge these [ __ ] retards.
>> I was ready to get pretty buried by the COD community. I thought that." But they But look, you we just talked about COD as a whole. It's like they need more of us. You know what I mean? like we need more content in [ __ ] you know, more fandom around around teams and brands in COD. So, >> yeah, I will say there is like a I feel like this year, maybe it's just we're more in on challengers. Like obviously I didn't watch challengers until this year, but it does feel like there are a lot more teams uh making content like Stallions are putting out like really good uh documentaries from like same thing that we're doing like behind the bush. Um, obviously process just came out.
>> OMT OMIT did did a couple things.
>> Yeah. Yeah. For I think for fun might have done one. Like there's a lot of challengers teams doing similar stuff which I think is really cool.
>> Yeah. And even even you can see throughout the year like teams are like tweeting more and like more active on socials and it's it it it is good. Like it's a step in the uh in the right direction.
>> But yeah, all that support I mean we're finally even getting like a Bush HQ now.
>> Yeah. Yeah, >> Jerry leaks. Jerry, you've been you've been leaking all week and now now's the time to spill to spill the beans, brother.
>> Yeah. I mean, I'm just [ __ ] [ __ ] [ __ ] everything. I'm at the point where I'm like, "Fuck, [ __ ] it." You know what I mean? I'm going to just I'm going to say [ __ ] now. I'm going to say wild [ __ ] [ __ ] it. Um but yeah, dude. We've uh >> dude um so obviously, you know, we'll have a video coming out possibly Tuesday, right, Moo?
>> Yes.
>> Uh that'll be like episode one of we can call it whatever you guys want, like growing the bush, building the bush, whatever. Um but yeah, we we will pretty much have our own setup um in Bush HQ uh which is the game room in the Chicago office. Rudy was there. Uh we had a meeting with Rudy. Um meetings with MB, BigCat, Dave production. Um we were going to share the room with Rudy and then you know Rudy was like, "Hey, you know what? I probably have like a better setup you know in anus and whatnot." Um and he's on that show as well. Also, Rudy is going to Anus uh studio. We'll be Bush HQ in the game room. Pretty much how it's going to work is um you know, we we got some good stuff behind the scenes and uh you know, from the mini golf winnings and the what else did I win?
>> Bracket busters.
>> Bracket busters. Bracket busters. So, that's um got about 13K there in winnings, which like [ __ ] it. Let's let's flood that. Let's burn that, right? Let's let's build out this [ __ ] room. Yeah, >> Moo Moo Moo had a quick gnote. Sass went above and beyond the gote with with with a 1500 just to prove a point to Moo, which was kind of disrespectful, I think. But, you know, that's here.
That's that's here nor there. But >> look, you know, we're all invested in the room.
>> Yeah. Yeah. I had to get a slice. You know, you I got to get I got to get I got to get a piece of it at least.
>> Exactly. Just know sass whenever you come to Chicago there's a warm PC set up for you just with the best specs and the and the and the be and the best equipment.
>> That'll be great.
>> I guess this is also a good time too like if you're watching this video right now, this owner's meeting um you know we we're obviously going to need stuff for the room as far as like I'm doing a cold call stream on Wednesday, possibly Wednesday morning because we have the elite I know Wednesday afternoon into the evening. So, I might do that in the morning. Um, the cold calls, but hey, if you're looking to get get something in the room, you know, I would say this.
When's the last time you got a return on your investment if you're a company out there? Probably not. Probably not. Um, but with the Bush, you get that return every single time and then some.
>> Oh, yeah. Dude, think about how many clips are going to come out of that room. Not even just from streams, from just me phone clipping you, Jerry, or whoever comes in that room. Like, >> yeah.
>> If you you want to hang something up in that room, get in touch.
>> Yeah. Yeah, you want you you want your monitors on in that room. You want your PC in that room. You know what I mean?
Your your your keyboards, your m mice, whatever the [ __ ] they're called, mouses, whatever the case may be. Uh TVs, you know, anything. Sofas, if you're Wayfair and you're watching, what about a sofa for the room? You know what I mean?
>> But yeah, dude, I'm [ __ ] pumped, man.
This is going to be [ __ ] electric, dude. I think we're going to have a couple videos come out. Um not sure if it's three or four yet, but pretty much how it's going to kind of work is like we're going to hit that video um episode one coming out Tuesday. So you'll have the owners meeting Monday, which everybody's watching right now. Tuesday you got boom, you got that [ __ ] episode one kind of behind the scenes and then Wednesday cold calls and then we have a hard deadline um Friday se was it Friday maybe moo to uh get everything ordered. May 9th is a Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We have to order everything that uh Thursday.
>> Yeah. So, if you're if you're going to be on the cold call stream, answers got to be like that. It's got to be Yes. If it's a no click, you're done.
>> We got to work on your sales pitch a little bit, Jerry. We got to make the pitch a little more word efficient.
>> Yeah. Yeah, for sure. Yeah. I don't know how to speak like those sales guys. But >> you're getting there, though. You got throughout the night. You You got You got it down. Close some deals.
>> Yeah, for sure. I mean, Keep leading with uh keep keep leading with my name's Austin and I I'm Dave's right-hand man.
>> Yeah. I mean, you know, I think that's a good way to go about things, you know.
>> Yeah. I mean, yeah. I don't I don't I don't got any problems with that.
>> No, me either.
>> Don't be afraid to throw out even some bigger names, you know.
>> Yeah. You think like who? Like Dave.
>> I'm Dave. I'm Dave Por.
>> This is Dave Poro.
>> I wanted to see if you guys had any interest in investing in the bush.
You know what? That's not illegal, right?
>> It's very, very, very illegal. Yes.
>> No, but I'm saying But I'm saying But I'm saying Dave wouldn't sue us.
>> No. No. I don't think Dave would sue.
>> It is the definition of fraud.
>> Yeah, I guess. Right. Yeah.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
>> All right. We'll stay away from that probably. [ __ ] it.
>> But give it give it a try.
>> Yeah, you can take the risk. What's Dave going to do? Is Is he going to sue you?
Probably not.
>> I mean, yeah. I don't really got much to give him.
>> He might suit the team, which would be an issue.
>> Oh, yeah. That'd be bad.
>> That'd be bad.
>> Yeah.
>> Might have to get some team lawyers.
>> We need a lawyer.
>> Yeah, we need we need a litigation team.
Um, but yeah, the Bush HQ video, if you're watching this, it'll be out Tuesday night. It it it's really Jerry made some just I don't I don't want to spoil anything. Just a Jerry master class. Uh, the JJ School of Scheming, of scamming, of JJ School of Business, honestly, it's on full display. So, >> yeah. Yeah, >> it it it's a special special video. Uh, so like every like watch party stream now until we have Bush HQ up and running, we'll be remote.
Um, so we'll all be remote like we were for the cup uh two weeks ago. Uh, was it last week? The cup?
>> Yeah. Yeah, last weekend.
>> Jesus, that feel it feels like a long time ago. Um, the cup second place. Hell of a [ __ ] run from the boys.
I wish we could have beat P7, you know.
Um, it's [ __ ] P7, P07, whatever, whatever you guys are calling them. [ __ ] that fat [ __ ] beans, Eric Boom. All my homies hate Eric Boom, yada yada yada.
We'll we'll be seeing them again.
>> Yeah.
Yeah. We just just uh pushed their [ __ ] in during scrims. So >> um couple days ago. Um not really not really worried about P7 right now. I think I think we have the best team. Um we only had a couple days I would say before that cup. Um you know to jail as a team which is not really obviously not a lot of time. Boys been [ __ ] prying their ass off in scrims. They look really [ __ ] good. Um they're beating pro teams in scrims. Yeah, >> which is which is great. Uh, so yeah, dude, I'm [ __ ] I'm [ __ ] I'm I'm [ __ ] pumped. I think this is the best team we've had.
>> Yeah. Also, I don't want to I don't want to beat the dead horse or anything, but like we like that's another example like we like challengers teams should never be beating a pro team.
>> Yeah.
>> If they're going to if they're like so like we beat the Falcons.
>> We smoked the [ __ ] like destroyed the Falcons.
>> Bad. Yeah. Yeah. Selium's getting paid 850 grand a year and our guys are getting paid like 200 bucks a month.
>> It's crazy >> like that. Like we shouldn't be able to beat them if the gap like they like that's the I don't know. That's the thing that bothers me.
>> Yeah. Yeah. It's it's pretty wild, dude.
But that's not the only team we've beaten during scrims.
>> It was crazy. We we sent Lou to Carolina. We scrimmed Carolina and beat Carolina.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> So it's like Yeah. I just don't they they got to open it up. I mean, I know it's the they got a contract or whatever, but it's like this this 12 team league is not it.
>> No. No.
>> Awful. We got to get that ProAm spot >> bad. I mean, I know we were just talking about like, you know, there's not many upsets in this CDL, so we're kind of like flip-flopping our our [ __ ] but it's like we can compete with the bottom.
>> You know what I mean? We like our our team can compete with not maybe not with Optic and no one can compete with Optic, but it's like >> we're going to give some teams uh fits if we get in that in in in pool play. So >> definitely.
>> Yeah. You know, and also you like you kind of really obviously I would say Optic Faze better teams than we have, but I will say this um to boost our guys up a little bit is you know they don't they don't play our guys really. you know, those top top teams, they don't they don't play our guys, you know what I mean? They don't know our strats and whatnot, you know, they don't know, but they're playing these guys in the CDL most of the time, scrimming these guys in the CDL most of the time, you know, every [ __ ] day of the week, you know.
Um, they're not really playing a lot of challengers teams. So, you know, you never really know, you know, you never really know.
>> Yeah, >> there.
>> Agreed. Um, but yeah, I thought the cup and our team in general, like even though we got second, it was like this is just a it was just like a long like a 12-h hour scrim on Sunday in in you know what I mean? Like you got to look at it as like that was a team building experience. That was our guys getting comfortable with each other and the I I went back and like looked at the grand finals like it we were up two to one um and and kind of sold that uh sold a search that we you know what I mean?
It's like we're right there. Uh I I have no worries. I just can't wait for elites to kick off Wednesday night 4:22. Uh so if you're watching this on Monday, 2 days from now, we start elite pool play.
And uh that's where like this this matters. This is the most important split of our We We say that every time, but this is the most important split.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Probably of the whole year.
>> Yeah. Because it >> outside of like I guess like champs, but Yeah. I mean, if if we win So, for anyone that doesn't know, if we win the Elite, we autoqualify for the ProAm.
>> Yes, >> that is pretty much the only way we get in. The only other scenario we get to the ProAm is if we come in second at the elite, but the team that comes in first has to be P7.
>> Yes.
And uh >> so it's either so like if there was a hypothetically like if if it happened to be a repeat of the cup we would be in the proam.
>> Yes.
>> If we got to elite grands and the other team we would face as P7 were automatically qualified for the prom.
Um, and then just a little even more for like our like casual ball ball watchers here like the Prom Major 3 is a the CDL's 12 teams, right, that compete at these majors. Major 3 is 16.
So, it's it's two uh the two teams that went to Grand Major 2 and now we're adding two more teams, NA elite winner and EU elite winner. So, we would be in a 16 team uh pool with with everyone that qualifies and then we would get broken up into a pool uh like pool play.
So, we'd have like what three matches.
Um if we get out of our pool, top eight of that 16 go into bracket play. If we do not make bracket play, our weekend isn't over. We would get dropped into the Challengers Open at Major Three.
>> Yep.
>> So, if we place >> top 32, right?
>> I think top 32 or top top 24.
>> Gotcha.
>> I'm not fully sure on that, >> but >> either way, we're going back in if if you know things don't work out.
>> Yeah. So, it's either we get out of pool play and go and continue in the pro bracket with with the top eight teams in the CDL or we drop down uh back into the challengers. So like the watch party will still be going on at major three.
>> Yeah. And I think it's um so you'll have three CDL teams in each um slot, right?
And then one challengers team, you know, so you have three and then one 3-1 3-1 3-1 and then I think you play all three teams um and then whoever like the best record, right? That's kind of how it works, >> I believe. So yeah.
>> Gotcha. Okay. And so yeah, pretty much for all of that to happen, we just got to win the elite.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> Or come in second to P7.
>> [ __ ] yeah.
>> I'll be honest, I hope it's P7. It would be so nice going into that grand final being like, >> well, we're we're in the ProAm.
>> Yeah. you know, like that would be like I know ideally like we want to smoke P7, >> but like they would kind of be doing us a pretty big favor if they at least just got to Grand.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. But, you know, that's never how we we It's never easy. It's always map 11.
It's always round five.
>> Oh, yeah. No, it's going to be a sweat.
It's going to be a [ __ ] grind. You know what's interesting is um and I'll say this not to like self gas Bush, but it's like our we've won so much this year that now like Huntsman and even Stallions are like >> adding pro players uh to their rosters.
>> Like the Huntsman originally was like we're going to be a development team.
>> Now they have Brack. Uh they they they brought on Swy, which was a crazy move.
Um, I think Swoody's a ball. Like that.
People are like, "I can't believe they brought on Swoody." It's like, "No, Swyy's a [ __ ] shooter."
>> Yeah, I like I like Swy. I think he's I think he's pretty damn good, man.
>> I think that was a great move by Huntsman. But what I'm saying is like these teams now want to be like ultra competitive because they want that ProAm spot, too.
>> So, who knows? Maybe we see Huntsman in grand finals. Maybe we see Stallion.
That Stallion seems really [ __ ] good with uh KB and and Millie and Rupert.
Like, I don't know. Anything could happen.
>> Yeah, definitely.
>> Yeah. Just so much better competition than challengers, dude. So much better.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
Um, all right. You guys got anything else?
>> I don't think so. I think that's everything.
>> No, I think we covered kind of everything there.
>> Awesome. Appreciate all the support.
Bush HQL Tuesday, cold call stream Wednesday morning, and then a first pool play of Challengers Elite Season 3 starts Wednesday night. Uh, stay unshaven, use promo code back the bush at Kraken. Um, and uh, we'll see you guys next time.
