I Watched Backrooms

[00:00:00]Imagine watching a movie where the scary thing isn't the actual movie, but your damn mind telling you that you should be afraid, but you never get the answer as to why. Like that kind of psychological swirly is what I got when watching Back Rooms, and I loved it. I love this movie through and through. It's not as good as Obsession, but it's definitely better than Project Hail Mary. But let's review this YouTube video. So, Back Rooms is a movie about a man named Clark who runs a furniture store, but clips out of reality and ends in a never-ending maze of yellow rooms and objects that seem to be growing out of the wall. And as a result, he goes on to explore this maze just for him to discover absolutely nothing. And that is the scary part.

[00:00:32]Like dude, I hate watching a movie and feeling confused because it makes me feel dumb and I hate the movie afterwards. But this one made my confusion so thrilling. Like entering those back rooms was so suspenseful and gripping and I just wanted answers to my questions of why. Why does this place exist? What is around the corner? Why is this happening? Like the stress you deal with in this movie is like when you have 10 assignments due in 10 minutes. That fear I got with back rooms and it was crazy. Also, the 30,000 foot sets were so cool. The acting from the two leads was pitch perfect. The found footage, oh my god, the entire second act was basically filmed in found footage, and that was my favorite part of the movie because you're watching stuff from the point of view of the character, and it's obviously presented in fuzzy quality.

[00:01:09]So, it piques my curiosity even more.

[00:01:11]Now, in terms of its monster, well, the back room's fans come up with different kinds of monsters. This one did have its own. And I thought it was such a wellthoughtout beast and frightening too in the sense that again once you start theorizing how this monster came to be it makes it even more fascinating. The only problem I have is that the ending felt like um they want to try to franchise this out. Like it felt abrupt and they were trying to say the movie may be done but the story isn't finished. But that's a small nitpick.
