This video presents a comprehensive analysis of the Mackenzie Shirilla case, where a 17-year-old driver crashed her car into a building, killing two teenage passengers. The investigation revealed extensive evidence of prior threats, including recorded statements where McKenzie explicitly stated she would crash her car, combined with Event Data Recorder (EDR) data showing the vehicle was traveling at 100 mph with the gas pedal fully depressed and no braking attempts. The prosecution successfully demonstrated that McKenzie's actions were intentional and premeditated, not accidental, leading to her conviction on multiple counts of murder. The case illustrates how digital evidence, witness testimony, and forensic data can establish criminal intent beyond reasonable doubt, even when the perpetrator claims lack of memory or medical conditions.

Sorry, no nothing. I don't know. Just randomly they were installing fiber optic and I got fiber optic and randomly it'll just [ __ ] drop right now I think because they're still installing it around the hood, so.
Um as I was saying before I was rudely interrupted, there is I'm not getting involved in that. If y'all want to do money for Zenial, y'all need to reach out to her personally and and do that.
Stop it, Jaz.
>> [laughter] >> I'll let y'all know if he hollers. I'll let y'all know.
Um that other live will be up for y'all to watch. Uh you can go back and watch it and that'll have all the details. I'm not recap it all. That is too much.
Um did you lose again?
So to sum it all up, nothing we do matters. Um all you can do is bring awareness to it on the internet. I'm not an awareness channel.
I'm a tea channel. I will continue to post tea on uh Gabby.
Um I will continue to move on with other content that I post.
Um Ask him what the [ __ ] We need reliable Wi-Fi. You right. You right.
Okay, Rochelle. Thank you.
Hi Crash Brat. So I mean it's upsetting, but what can you do? I mean it it just is what it is. Like like I said, go watch the case that I went over last night. It it's a situation where people know things are going on. People are begging and out like that was an outcry. That was a news post about CPS giving the kids back to that lady and she still got the kids back. So Did everyone see that the protest is canceled? Is it officially canceled?
We're canceling the protest.
The thing is Gabby has made out to these people like she is some internet celebrity.
Um and she's not. She is infamous. But Gabby thinks that she is famous? I don't know what Gabby thinks of herself, but she definitely thinks that she has supporters and she does not and she has convinced the police and all of that that this is just haters.
Bye.
Famous for the wrong things.
I don't think nationwide anything is going to work or matter. I think I listen, I'm not involved in that. I don't know what that's about. That needs to stay on that side. That ain't ain't [ __ ] to do with me.
Ain't got [ __ ] to do with me.
Um We're going to watch a true crime real quick.
>> Cumulative task.
>> Because I got to do something, so I'm going to put this on and we're going to watch this and then we'll continue discussing Gabby.
Of course, what the What did I do? What could I have possibly done?
I may occasionally have the violent ideations or whatever. Our missing person was also involved in those types of fantasies and violent ideations.
>> Oh, I'm sure we had some right nasty discussions. Yeah. I'm not even going to play. I'm not sure we had some right nasty discussions. How did she say she wanted to die? And he was like, "It wasn't easy." You know, it wasn't like just one and done. I barely even have interest in in tying my wife up at this point because she's been through so much. On October 13th, 2025, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement is contacted for investigative assistance by Interpol regarding a missing woman who had flown from England to the US before vanishing.
The truth about what led to her disappearance is far more haunting than anyone expects, leaving investigators with more questions than answers. I think it took her 2 years to talk him into helping her leave this world. The following report is based on official police records, and some of the footage has never been seen before until now. Please note that all persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
32-year-old Sonya Axleby from Portsmouth, England had traveled to Florida on October 10th, 2025, and though she booked a return flight on October 12th, she never boarded it. The last known trace of Sonya's whereabouts was a series of charges to her debit card on October 11th. These charts Listen, um let's [snorts] leave whatever this this whole protest all that is over there in Vicie's live.
Let that be her thing. I'm not involved in that. I personally don't think lobbying in other states is going to do anything.
I don't think a law is going to be introduced. There is a chain of command that you are to follow. And um it is just not This is not the chain of command. You don't start at the top. It's not how it works.
Okay?
Um So, if y'all want to keep Look, Gabby's offline and that's what matters, okay?
Get Oh, no, Jennifer, I'm not getting on to you. I'm not getting on to you. I'm I'm just saying like I think people want me to be involved in it and I'm not going to be involved in that. Um I'm just not. I I'm not interested in it. I don't think that it is Um I I just don't think it's going to do anything. Now, what I am going to tell y'all is I bought one of these things that's like a um for lymphatic drainage, but it's got red light therapy on it.
And it vibrates.
Bro, I be putting it on my head.
Okay? I like it, but I also use it for um lymphatic drainage, too. Um I like this thing.
Okay?
You could probably use it for something else if you wanted. I wouldn't cuz there's a lot of pokeys, but I don't know what you [ __ ] are into.
But um it's pretty cool.
But I like this thing and you can use it for a lot of different things, but I've been using it on my arms under here. And I've been using it on my mommy pouch.
And yeah.
It's pretty cool.
So, they be getting them on sale on TikTok all the time If y'all want to get one.
Hahaha.
>> [laughter] >> Um I need one of those. Yeah, I like it.
It's pretty cool. I I need to get like an oil or something to to go with it so that it runs a little bit smoother, but uh we are not feeling better. We are still sick.
I can't support anything involving someone pulling up on someone less mentally capable, just saying. Yeah.
So the focus should always be the children.
That is true.
Now, we're moving on. We're going to watch true crime. We're going to do I don't old.
Cellulite and lymphatic drainage massager.
It's got red and yellow light therapy.
Um I use it on my stomach to help with like my scarring and stuff on my stomach from uh having a baby.
Uh Tara Graham, I did not see your picture.
Um it's by Fee Joy, f e e Joy.
You'll see it it's on TikTok all the time, but um I like it, but it's kind of it's kind of like a little massager, too. Like someone could use it you could use it on a back.
It's just a little Mine didn't come with oil.
Oh, nice, Giggles Box. No, I need to get some oil, but I'm really weird about oil. I was thinking about using this one that's more like a dry oil cuz I don't like I don't want to feel oily afterwards and I want it to dry up quick. Yeah, so I got this to work on my um Hi Christina, to work on my little mommy pouch cuz I've also been doing my peptides and stuff. I haven't taken any of my um peptides this week because I was sick and I just did not feel like poking myself.
So we're back on. Today, I did my first uh stack of peptides in a while, so hopefully, we'll be back on track after this week. Coconut oil, my question about did she ever tell you why she didn't make a report at least to have on record about the threats that were made to Cam?
No, she never told me. She's just lazy.
She just wanted to fight with the internet. That is the reality. She just wanted to fight with the internet. She did not want to fight with the have castor oil. Castor oil is supposed to be good for your eyelashes, too. I think I need to do that. Um What's peptides? Peptides are like the GLPs. There's other peptides. There's tesamorelin is what I'm on. GHK-Cu, I do the claw version, which is for your skin.
Um MOTS-c for energy.
I'll do a whole live stream on peptides if y'all want me to. I'll I'll start planning that. Shawn, if you want to help me start planning that. Cali G C just this morning announced at 60 retarding children on social media. Uh there is a huge sex crime against children like organization here in Louisiana because especially where I'm located in Louisiana because we are right along the path of uh 220 and I-20, which is a huge interstate that can lead straight to Florida and like it it's a it's a problem because there's a lot of major cities along this path and uh Oh my god, I'm sorry. I keep getting stuffed up.
Uh so, it's a very dangerous area. So, that's why I'm very protective of my children here.
Peptides, Shawn, we're going to do a live stream on peptides. So, I would like to make a plan for that.
All right, so let's hop into this true crime, guys. Charges were to the company Silver Wolf's Assistance owned by 52-year-old >> If you want peptide information, if you become a member, there is a peptide chat in the Discord and we all talk in there about the websites we buy from, what we're on, what our stacks are, what are our um uh what are everything, what our results are.
Uh I don't just do Flonase. If you don't know the trick, you do Afrin first, wait 5 minutes, and then do um that is the trick to unstuffing your nose, and I do have that over there. I just haven't done it yet today. old Dwayne Hall.
On October 17th, with Sonia still missing, investigators are eager to speak with Dwayne. Utilizing aerial surveillance, the Marion County Sheriff's Office tracks down his vehicle and relays his information to deputies and agents from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. All right, everyone, you have we got the vehicle. It's uh I- 75 northbound, just got on. You got a warrant? I'll tell you, buddy. You got to get live. You said wait till you call out.
Dwayne isn't alone. His wife Ginger is in the passenger seat.
I told him what to say, what? I won't.
Yeah, ask her to get my ID out of the center console. Do you have a search warrant for your vehicle?
I know it's that this vehicle with that tag number or there's a search warrant for that vehicle.
That being said, I'm happy to give you a free ride for uh whoever got the search warrant so you can go with them and they can explain what the purpose of the search warrant is.
Number one, we're on the way to go take her up to her thing for those transplant stuff. Okay.
What what the hell is he got Are you going to search here or what?
>> What the hell?
So, uh that's all the information that I know. They tell Dwayne that they will transport him so that he can speak to the person who organized the search warrant, and he agrees. Uh he's going to go voluntarily up there. I'll go voluntarily. I'll You have your CID? Okay. So, if you just want to pat him down, search him, make sure he doesn't have any weapons, and then um we may have to take the wife as well, so she can arrange for a ride or something to get up to the hospital.
Yeah. I She's got to be for a bronchoscopy. She just had a double lung transplant.
>> Oh, jeez. Okay. All right. Let's walk up.
>> are really like uh this is You guys are messing this up.
I'm just going to pat you down and make sure you got nothing else in there.
Sorry, babe. As they're seizing the vehicle, Ginger has been asked to get out as well, but she isn't opposed to getting into the back of the deputy's car with Dwayne. I don't mind riding in Dwayne's car. I don't mind that.
All right, Dwayne.
I don't know a lot about what's going on. Normally Normally, we don't. Um Normally, I have everybody sit up.
I'll sit in there for you.
I'll be in the vehicle. Thank you, Penelope.
>> little weird about her. I know. I know.
I know. I know. I know. I know.
Now, listen. Don't worry Don't worry about her. We're not going to put her out any kind of way after we're going to figure something out. All right? Okay.
Just watch your leg, okay?
Fugitive Task Force, what the What did I do? What could I have possibly done? Fugitive Task Force, what is going on? I haven't done anything.
I guess I got big problems.
It won't take long for Dwayne to discover if he does in fact have a big problems. As he's transported to speak with investigators, deputies agree to give Ginger a ride to her appointment.
Here? Okay, right there. Right there.
Uh Dwayne is soon joined by an agent from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, also known as the FDLE, and a detective from the Marion County Sheriff's Office.
Hi, Mr. Hall.
My name's Rebecca. Oh, thanks. You okay?
Okay.
Hi, Mr. Hall.
>> Hello. What's your first name?
>> [snorts] >> As if you don't know.
I I like playing I don't like playing silly.
>> Okay. well, I like to be direct. You have my name You or else I wouldn't be here.
How would you like us to call you?
Dwayne is fine.
>> Dwayne is fine. Okay.
>> Dwayne, okay. Well, I was just going to say because I honestly forgot it. So, that's why I called. Okay, I will I will accept that. Though things are off to a somewhat rocky start, they remind Dwayne that since he came in voluntarily to speak with them, he's not being officially detained. While he's appeared bewildered by the situation so far, Dwayne was actually called by authorities twice already and been made aware that his transactions have something to do with a missing person's case. So, what's going on? Did you read your rights to him? Did Dwayne do this?
I mean, you're right. If you got to read him his rights, okay, check the box.
It's checking the box.
He's read his rights and Dwayne agrees to speak. He explains that on October 11th, the day of the transactions, a woman called him and told him her car had broken down. They called at 9:00 and they tried to run a card and and my card services kept declining it. So, they kept going lower and lower on the amount and I the only thing she was saying that they made me paranoid. I thought it was pretty sketchy. It was too quiet in the background for somebody that's broke down. And then if somebody's broke down, it's way too quiet in the background and she kept saying over and over again, I swear there's money on the car. I swear I swear I swear.
And of course, I declined and I didn't go out there.
Records show that over the course of 10 minutes, Dwayne attempted to process six transactions for varying amounts from $100 to $790, all of which were declined.
In the same time frame, he ran a second card and Dwayne was able to complete a transaction for $1,200.
Both cards were for United Kingdom banks and belonged to Sonya Exilby, the missing woman. Dwayne, however, claims not to know who the woman was and that he never went out to help her with her vehicle. Where were you like when you were having this conversation?
I was actually out in the other side of Reddick. Okay.
>> I was out I was out out there on a different type of job. Okay. I gotten hired and I I didn't tell you anything about this because I signed an NDA for the client. Okay. Okay.
But if it comes down to it and we need that information and we desperately need that information, I'll break that NDA.
But the reason why the NDA was there is because there's a high-profile client that has cars for people like Travolta and that on his property and doesn't want that all that disclosed. Despite the NDA, Dwayne reveals that the man he was working for was named Harold. He says he worked on a series of vehicles for him Friday night, stayed overnight at an Airbnb, and then worked for Harold all day Saturday late into the evening.
In an Ewo exclusive interview, Ginger, Dwayne's wife, describes what he told her about that weekend. He done a jump start for a customer that had a big garage full of really, really expensive cars.
>> crazy. There's a lot of illegal stuff going on in Texas. And he was doing a oil change, battery change, entire change, like over 50 cars. High-end, high-end, super expensive cars. That's what he told me. And so he was going to have to So he was going to have to stay overnight to save on gas and all that.
She also shared why she believed Dwayne had been asked to speak with police. He told me that somebody had used had tried to use a stolen credit card to order a jump start from him cuz he he was a roadside roadside assistant. And I thought that that's what that's what it was about. He had been stressed, but I thought that was because of the card the card he was he was afraid of get getting charged with fraud. This concern wasn't the only troubling thing that happened that weekend when it came to Harold paying Dwayne for his mechanic work, something else went awry. So, on on that weekend when these transactions and interactions with this individual were taking place, >> is too cold.
I didn't believe Okay. I literally have three calls listed for I think it's Sunday. Three.
Is it a Saturday or Sunday? It was three calls compared to 20 30 a day that are coming to my phone. So, did the calls come in and you were having those conversations and it wasn't logged or you weren't getting calls at all? Calls were coming in. They were vanished. They vanished out of the call log.
Text messages, emails, everything.
>> They just vanished.
>> Everything regarding and relating to that service that I did out there vanished. All of them. Like it never happened. And then I Okay. Yeah.
Or I tried to go home that Sunday. Mhm.
But I was being followed. How so? I I was being tailed. Dwayne says that as he was driving home, he saw a vehicle following him and decided to go down a back road where he parked to wait them out. I sat there and I waited for an hour.
And they kept making passes on the main road.
While this may seem like a random detail, this specific area where Dwayne describes hiding would eventually be revealed to harbor a dark secret.
Already, Dwayne's story has been filled with twists and turns, but he now adds a new element. He says on Friday, before he started the mechanical work, Harold asked him to do something. But now we get to the worst part of the story that I'm dreading talking about altogether because I have a really bad feeling about it again. Like I said, really bad.
The same from I'm not even paying attention to it to really bad in my opinion because everything that happened after >> He [laughter] called me up and then I was working in Gainesville shift into 6.
He called me up and he said, "Hey, I need you to go pick somebody up from Gainesville airport."
Okay. I picked somebody up from Gainesville airport, female.
I tried to make small talk with him.
They told me basically, and I'm barely even paraphrasing here, "Shut up. We don't talk to the help." Regardless of her manners, Dwayne says he drove the woman to Harold's where she got out and into another vehicle. He says he never saw her again. So far in his version of events, the woman who called because her vehicle broke down and the woman he picked up for Harold are two different people. However, investigators know that the cards belong to Sonia and that the woman he picked up from the airport is also Sonia. They will eventually confront Dwayne, but for now he says he believes that the mysterious Harold may have something to do with their missing person's case.
>> It was Harold.
>> is a different person that goes missing every year. Definitely wasn't Harold. It has nothing to do with me.
Because that's that's up there and then there was a big thing and then Tom Cruise got money and this that and the other. When we start connecting the dots like me and her did, Mhm. what if this is some kind of underground thing where they get unsuspecting people, especially like Calvin told me he she I don't know anyway. Calvin is the investigator Dwayne spoke to prior to this interview.
What if she signed up for something and they and they they predator these the young women or men and then just they vanish? Mhm.
Yeah, that's an interesting that's an interesting So I mean I've heard the worst I mean that's a good theory, Dwayne. Good theory, Dwayne. Good theory, Dwayne.
Good good good good theory. like this and then make me sign an NDA, but he name dropped that he was storing vehicles for Travolta, Perry Bel-Air, that the whole comedy family. Oh, okay.
And >> [clears throat] >> Tom Cruise. Okay. Not Tom Cruise. Not this guy trying to bring down everybody with him. behind the scenes and they're going and working on the cars and the >> Oh my god, that was Scientology.
>> you involved.
>> [laughter] >> Yeah, what am I going to do? I'm nobody.
After allowing Dwayne to fully explain his suspicions, the investigators decide to reveal their own evidence, including something they know about Sonia. They still don't tell Dwayne her name. No, I've been speaking with people who know her and know things about her and we know that she was communicating with people over here um and had the intention of coming over here to end her life and we know that that was what this trip was about. This is the reason that the authorities in the UK were so concerned when Sonia never boarded her return flight home. Court documents indicate that a year earlier in 2024, Sonia had been planning to travel to the US to meet with individual she met online in order to fulfill her wishes. That attempt was thwarted and she received treatment. Investigators also have another bombshell to drop. The transactions may have been what led them to Dwayne, but they aren't the only reason they want to speak with him today.
We also know I know.
Dwayne >> wanted people that work for him.
>> Dwayne is so calm. It is a little scary.
I ain't going to lie. Dwayne a little too calm for me.
Little too calm.
So so far this Damn it, Daryl. So far these ladies this this lady has tried to hire people to kill her. This is a very interesting case.
>> communicating with her. What was her screen name? What does that matter? I communicate with a lot of people. I can Do you communicate >> [crying] >> Dwayne, he said What was her screen name? I communicate with a lot of them.
I got a lot of ladies I got a lot of [ __ ] online. with a lot of people about aviations? We can we talk about we have a lot I communicate I used to. Used to? Used to communicate with a lot of people that it was uh like Mhm. And there was a lot of fantasy role play that happened there. But if you tell me your screen name, maybe I'll have a better idea what you're talking about.
Dwayne claims he hasn't had access to his account in months because he was banned for violating the terms of service. So what kind of stuff did you like to talk about?
>> Hard bondage. Okay.
I like hard bondage. Okay. Ugh, it's so gross. It's so gross when you connect the kink with the person. He likes hard bondage. Dwayne. That's why that's why that's why I got me banned. I said there's no way you got banned from that.
>> It seems like it seems like somebody took offense to something I last said.
Like on a comment or something like that. And you you you can comment on pictures or posts or have a conversation in live feeds or Not live feeds, but comment feeds or whatever. And I think something there might have gotten me banned because there's there's certain words that you're not allowed to use and that that list seems to be ever growing by the month.
But like I said, I've been >> He's like, "They're just so damn strict over there. I can't even use the words I want to use." Tell her to talk in your ears. Uh basically anything anything violent.
Okay. Anything Anything violent or aggressive too aggressive.
Like snuff type stuff?
>> Any kind of snuff type stuff and then other sort of violent stuff like that. I may occasionally have the violent ideations or whatever. Mhm. But at the same time it's better left unsaid. So the reason why I'm having this discussion with you is that our missing person is also involved in those types of fantasies and violent ideations.
>> Well, that that don't surprise me.
Right. I especially if you're telling me that I actually had communication that she was actually communicating with me at one point or another. Mhm. Oh, I'm sure we had some run-nasty discussions.
Yeah. I'm not even going to play. I'm sure we had some run-nasty discussions.
Okay. And between consenting adults The way. it's absolutely okay, right? Yeah, I mean it's like I said, there's a line.
This is escalated. This is escalated. So Yeah, they said they don't >> over If you don't know what snuff is, a snuff film is usually like a sexual murder type thing. here with the intention of fulfilling some of those fantasies, bondage, violent Oh. fantasies. I'm not saying necessarily, but definitely violent fantasies. And then at the end of it, she wants to end her life. If you're trying to put me in line with something like that, I'm going to tell you right now, it's it's been all about my wife since she damn near died. Mhm. I have no interest in anything to do with anything like that with another woman.
I barely even have interest in in tying my wife up at this point because she's been through so much. Once again, the investigators know >> I've barely got interest in tying my wife up. Something they'd have been withholding until this moment.
The FDLE agent discloses that they have evidence that shows Sonia stayed at the Airbnb with Dwayne. With this revelation, Dwayne abruptly adjusts his version of events, now admitting she was with him on Friday and Saturday.
However, he still doesn't refer to her by her name.
with Things a lot of different things. We already talked about that, too. Okay, so we we a little bit a little bit of light choking and whatever, you know. Okay.
Just regular kind of from group kind of Never lost my mind.
light bondage Very, very light. Didn't even involve any groups or anything like that. Okay. So, just the hands.
Okay. Anything else? No, ma'am. So, you said light choking. So, I know this is kind of weird.
So, Dwayne is one >> What does that mean to you?
It means I put my Okay. What part of her? Yes. Every part?
>> Yes. She wanted it.
How she let you know that she wanted it?
Cuz there's lots of ways that happens.
You mean that? Also, I'm just going to pause.
Hold on, I got to sneeze.
Nope, it's going away.
clam slam Also, if you guys want to suggest a case for us to go over or anything, or if y'all find a clip of something you want us to go over, feel free to suggest that in the Discord.
Mods, if y'all would pay attention for that type of stuff.
Um so, we can cover and do more true crime.
with her hand hand What does that mean? Like the whole thing. In her interview, Ginger explains that she was aware Dwayne was talking to other women. I knew he had other girls, quote unquote, girlfriends that he talked to online, but it was never like because I was so disabled, I told him I was fine with it as long as he didn't lie to me about it. And so I knew that there were a couple of videos where he was talking to like that, but there was never supposed to be anything physical.
They were never supposed to meet in person. It was It was supposed to stay online. According to official documents, Sonya left evidence on her computer indicating that she had made a plan and was carrying it out by traveling to the US. The investigators now discuss this plan with Dwayne. So, she talked about dying, having somebody maybe help her.
What What were those conversations like? What How did she say she wanted to die?
Yes, we have gone over some of the Gypsy Rose really stuff. It It was crazy.
What did you guys talk about? Cuz again, everyone has the ability to to change their mind, but there were conversations about it even if it was in person or in person. I think the reason he's able to be so casual is because she said she wanted to die. So now he's like There there was conversations about it and Tell me about those conversations.
And she said she'd tried many times and she'd failed.
She said that that's a really beautiful state and she couldn't think of a better place to end it all.
Okay. And that's pretty much the extent of it. There was no real elaboration one way or another except for the fact that it was became very obvious that I was not about this life. I I didn't want I didn't want the mass. I didn't want want the scrutiny. I didn't want to be involved in any way, shape, or form at that point. I just I didn't even have Anything that you did with her that you recorded?
I deleted it.
I deleted it all. It vanished. It all vanished.
Boom. Poof. Sir, officer.
Objection. This is irrelevant to this case. Irrelevant. This is irrelevant to this case.
>> Okay. I don't know what Irrelevant.
Also, mods, if y'all can find the case with uh the the Gabby stuff, we'll go over that tonight. I just think since Gabby's ringing people to court again, and Gabby's being brought to court, we should just we should just revisit Gabby's worst day of her life.
Court would find out in Brownie. So, if one of the mods can get that back on the doc, please.
I asked her I would I told her I told her that I I wanted to I wanted her to tell me what was it she was there for.
And then I wanted her to go into detail, and she basically was kind of locked up and wouldn't say anything.
And I ended up deleting it because there was of absolutely no use to me. Despite deleting it, during a later search of Dwayne's phone, investigators located the disturbing video he recorded on October 11th. I want you to tell me about why you're here.
Cuz I'm an awful person and I need to die.
Yeah, but why are you such an awful person?
I've crushed everyone who ever loves me.
I've cheated on my my partner. God, [clears throat] the amount of lies to everyone about this is um overwhelming.
Led on so many >> [snorts] >> men cuz I didn't know how to just Well, it was more just that I didn't You can tell this woman is severely suffering.
Um you can tell by the mats in her hair, the back of her hair. That's a sign that she's been in a depression, like She's a very beautiful woman, but you can tell that she is just mentally suffering.
>> no cuz I knew they probably wouldn't like me or >> [gasps and laughter] >> I don't know. People just always seemed overly nice. I was always an oddball.
You know, in case something like this happened, I could just be here. Yeah, you know. But she didn't say she didn't respond to you when you asked her she She she was not >> No, what is the crash?
>> not responsive very much, and I don't know what the problem was in that regard.
I think [snorts] she was I think she was just disappointed because I didn't want her I didn't want her. In official documents, investigators noted that appears subdued in the video, rarely looks up towards the camera where Dwayne would be positioned, becomes visibly upset with tears in her eyes, exhales deeply, swallows hard, and is very hesitant to answer Dwayne's questions.
The video would reveal much more, but for now, the FDLE agent confronts Dwayne with a chilling revelation. I know that she is not alive anymore.
I know that. You know that.
And I want to find her. No, I don't know that.
I think you do.
I don't I don't know that.
>> suspect that. I strongly suspect that.
That video suggests you were trying to protect yourself. But you didn't really need to take that video to protect yourself because I know she asked you to do it. Does that make sense? Yeah, it does, but at the end of the day, I still don't know where they're at. I still don't know where they're at. They're at.
Though Dwayne is adamant, the investigators have uncovered disquieting evidence. According to court documents, an hour prior to picking Sonia up at the airport, Dwayne bought paracord, gun cleaner, 50 ft of rope, and a shovel. It does not make any sense that right before you picked her up, you bought rope and a shovel, and >> Yeah, I know that doesn't make any sense. Help me make sense of that. Like, why would you buy It's actually a thing that was already there. I was actually planning on doing it anyway, and the timing was just really [ __ ] on my behalf because of the Hey, we don't say that word.
And I actually absolutely did not think Why am I sitting here talking to you?
Because you want to find a missing person. She has a name. What's her name?
You want to find someone. I want to find Sonia. This is the first time that Dwayne has confirmed that the woman he spent the weekend with was Sonia X. L.
B.
Whether it's this acknowledgement or the other evidence, it seems that Dwayne has hit a breaking point. So, if I if I'm to follow along with what everybody's saying here, I think that I can't afford a lawyer, but I think I'm going to need one at this point.
Okay.
Now, I have to be able to protect myself to some degree.
And you know, once I have a lawyer present, I think we can I can follow with them. I think we can continue this.
Okay.
Following his request for a lawyer, Dwayne is left alone. However, he soon requests to go to the bathroom. You want to use the bathroom, right? Well, you say you are detained at the moment. Now, based on based on everything we talked about and we got some stuff to follow up on, so we're going to handcuff you in the front and we're going to walk you to the bathroom.
After this small reprieve, they leave him to stew in the interview room, eventually checking if he'd like something to eat. I I need need more than I need food. I need an update about my wife. Okay. We were on our way to take her to a Broncos game this morning when they stopped me.
And then I was told she was admitted and Oh, so she's at the hospital? Please.
Okay. See, I don't know anything. Okay.
I know. Okay. I'll see what I can find out, okay? I'll go grab you like a Whopper and a big gulp and fries and I will get an update on um see if I can get an update. [snorts] I can't promise you anything, okay?
>> Please. I'll see what I can find out, okay? Thank you. Despite his concern about his wife, Ginder was dropped off at the hospital for her appointment without issue. Following the delivery of his food, Dwayne appears to realize the severity of his situation. You know, the last time I taste I saw her.
That was What does it feel like? My left heel.
>> [clears throat] >> Whether it was the hot meal or the hours on his own, Dwayne has made a decision.
I want to speak to Miller.
You know the volume I'm doing here? I want to speak to Miller. Okay. Yeah.
Hey, Dwayne. Hey. Did you need us for something?
>> Yes.
What's up? What's >> got a minute, I'd love to talk to you.
Okay.
I'll talk to you and then then you. I Okay.
Well, What would What would you like to talk about? I want to recant basically my entire statement.
You want to recant your entire statement?
>> Yes. Okay. I can't stand being a liar.
I can't stand it. Dwayne states that the entire story about receiving a call for service from a woman whose car broke down and the elaborate tale about Harold was not true and that Harold does not exist. He claims this was all a cover story he devised with Sonia. He decides to retell his story starting with him meeting Sonia online.
And then her and I started talking and whatnot and and she was telling me about all of her stuff and and things like that. So, I started kind of mentoring her. This is about This is all about 2 years ago. And I wanted to make her life better. I didn't want her They got to a certain point this past year, sometime in the past year, where she actually offered me to help me with I owe the IRS a lot of money.
And she offered to help me with that then.
She offered to help me with that.
And [clears throat] I said, "Yes."
And from there I started mentoring her a little bit further.
And she seemed to be getting better. Dwayne tells them that he owes almost $10,000 to the IRS. Yet, Ginger explains that their finances had not been an issue.
Yeah, it was it was really nice. We were even able to afford We moved into the suburbs out of the ghetto for the first time in my life. However, in a video Dwayne posted to his YouTube channel, he discussed the concept of debt. We are struggling, being crushed under interest rates and debt that we can't afford to pay. This got scary. She wasn't supposed to bring cards. She was supposed to bring cash. Okay. Because it's traceable. They'll return to this subject, but for now Dwayne then details what he calls mentoring Sonia. I want you to work on this. I want you to do that. That's what I was telling her.
Mhm.
And I kept I kept instructing her to to have a really good with her husband.
Mhm. Because it seemed like when I do that, she'd get she'd get a little better.
A little better every time she feel a little better. And then of course her husband was obviously appreciative of that of the attention. You know what I mean? However, this didn't last. It didn't work.
It didn't work. It didn't work. It worked, but it didn't It worked, but it didn't. It was a band-aid. Yeah.
I don't mean that, you know, after after a period of time.
Do you want to talk about what happened Saturday and Sunday? I can't really talk too much about that, but you can ask questions and if I feel comfortable answering them, then I will.
Is it because of this promise that you made to Sonia? Yeah.
Tell me.
>> [clears throat] >> You know, explain to me what How did Sonia ask you to make this promise? What did she ask you? She [snorts] did not want to be found. She did not want to be returned home. She wanted to be gone.
Gone gone. Okay.
So, you feel like you would be breaking that promise if you told us where she was.
>> I can't confirm or deny that, but I can't break my promise about anything regarding that.
I can't tell you where she went. And I can't tell you anything about it. Since he refuses to discuss what happened to Sonia, the investigators instead focus on what occurred during their time together. So, you said that you had some light bondage. Can you Can you tell me about that? Because sometimes bondage there can be injuries. There were probably a few bruises. Okay. At her insistence. There's a reason the investigators are clarifying this detail.
>> What's this on your face? Cover it.
What is it?
He's facing me.
>> [laughter] >> Is that what you wanted? Is that what you asked for?
Literally speaking I think we're done with that video. Oh, this is so sad. Literally speaking.
The rest of this disturbing video may hold the key to revealing what ultimately happened to Sonia. So, smacking on the I'm coming back. Okay. Smacking on the face? She had me smack her face a couple of times. Okay. Around the same time that Dwayne recorded the video of Sonia, she attempted to reach out to an online friend through Discord. According to court documents, the message was long and at times disjointed, but Sonia wrote that the person she was with made her record three disclaimer videos and write a letter to her family because he thought it was funny. She definitely made it very clear that she wanted really rough, aggressive Okay. Sonia's message goes on to say, "I'm sorry, he keeps taking my phone. He doesn't trust me with it." She writes that last night was so bad and he's in the shower, but I'm locked in and there's no signal in the middle of nowhere. I thought he'd do it quick and not give my mind time to stew. Her message ends with her saying, "I'm so so scared. I'm so broken and in so much pain. All I can do is lay here and doing what he wants makes him respect me enough not to do the things I really hate. I'm trying to be quick and my time's up." Chillingly, during this same time, Dwayne was also in contact with his wife and even called her on the evening of the 10th around 9:00 p.m. He called me to say good night for like 5 minutes. Though Ginger doesn't reveal anything else about this conversation, the message Sonya sent also came up in Ginger's interview. Oh, and they're talking about her sending some uh message or something somewhere saying she changed her mind going back and forth, a yo-yo, back and forth and back and forth. Because fear, fear is going to kick in. We're wired to survive. The fear is going to kick in and you're automatically It's exactly why you can't just hold your breath until you die.
Sonya's Discord message also indicated that the person she was with wouldn't let her leave and they always had a gun on them. Did she ever do anything during the time that you spent with her where it seemed like maybe she had changed her mind?
No. Actually, she got really upset with me because I quit. I was not into it whatsoever and I quit and I didn't want to. I don't want to sleep with her. I didn't want to play bondage games with her or anything.
I just wanted to be done. Dwayne then finally explains the truth behind the transactions which led the investigators to him in the first place.
>> She still wanted to help me out financially, so she had me run the one card over and over and over again.
find out. You know you're blocked and they on like five different accounts. How many more are you going to come in on?
Okay? We're not even talking about that right now. We're not even talking about that. We're on a whole other case. How [ __ ] obsessed with Gabby are you?
Like Jesus Christ, dude, we are talking about something else and you are coming in here to talk about your hate for Brownie and for [ __ ] like Jesus Christ.
Move on.
She's not online and you're talking about some old ass [ __ ] Jesus Christ, not respectfully. I don't mean it [ __ ] respectfully. You're too nice, juicer.
Good [ __ ] Christ.
Like what does this have to do with Brownie right now? What?
I'm pretty sure Telegram is is out. I mean, is find out. Read the [ __ ] room. We are talking about something else.
More important than what you talk about with her. What the [ __ ] are you talking about?
You you come in and say the same [ __ ] thing every [ __ ] time, find out.
Every goddamn time.
Jesus [ __ ] Christ.
Nobody [ __ ] cares but you.
Nobody cares.
You're on a topic that we've already discussed.
You know what my [ __ ] answer is? Get the [ __ ] over it. Go somewhere else. Go post on your page about it. Go the [ __ ] away.
Go the [ __ ] away.
Holy [ __ ] balls.
I know you want to bring Brownie down. I know you hate her so much.
Good God. We're trying to talk about Sonia and Dwayne over here and YOU'RE LIKE, "WHAT ABOUT WHAT BROWNIE SAID?"
"WHAT ABOUT WHAT BROWNIE SAID?"
Like Jesus [ __ ] Christ.
This is ridiculous.
We're trying to find out what happened to Sonia and you're like, "What about the account that said they were going to grape Gabby?"
No. Brownie has explained that. We have all gone over this a thousand [ __ ] times. A thousand [ __ ] times. If you don't like my answer, I don't know what to tell you.
Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out. [ __ ] And because she swore up and down there was money on there, that's not a lie.
She swore up and down that there was money on there and then we got we got down so low she was like, "Do you have something?" Come to find out there's nothing on there. And then we ran to the other party and she was extremely short of what she promised. And then we go to the kind of get out from under Hope you start feeling better soon.
>> Just to get that way too. How much was she going to give you for the IRS? About four grand. And and she only ended up having the 1,200.
And how did that I mean it seems to be pretty like that's pretty impactful for you. You're expecting something that may cut your IRS debt almost in half. And then she doesn't have it. It even further deteriorated the mood as far as I know.
As far as I understand >> Don't injure your mother off damage.
Okay. You hear them? Thank you for calling us back and clearing the air.
With his new story established, Dwayne is once again left alone. However, the investigators return once again, this time with a news for Dwayne.
All right, Dwayne. So, I want to let you know that I am arresting you for the credit card fraud, right?
Um for charging that money and lying about charging that money. I don't really understand what's going on right now. You're being placed under arrest for credit card fraud for using Sonia's cards, okay? I mean, okay.
I'm a little confused about literally everything else though. I feel like that I don't know.
I feel weird about the whole thing and it's a few things >> it's I know it's a lot. That's why I said process, think about it. You can call me.
>> some things ain't adding up there.
You're charging me for credit card fraud? Mhm.
Yeah.
More charges coming, right? I don't know.
I just tell you like right now you're getting charged with credit card fraud.
Okay. Do you expect more charges coming?
What did you expect something different?
Yeah, but we're not going to go there.
I mean, is there something you want me to charge you with?
>> me You impounded my vehicle. You You impounded I have no idea what's going on with that. I'm even going to get that back. My wife is her only next of kin and somewhere Okay.
I mean, break her jaw. Okay.
>> I mean, if you want something else, let me know. What do you want me to charge you with? Charge me with go home.
>> [laughter] >> Despite this request, Dwayne is not allowed to go home. Though his charges would eventually be adjusted, for now, he's arrested on charges of the fraudulent use of credit cards and unlawful use of two transmission devices and taken to jail. Though the investigators have claimed that they believe Sonya is no longer alive, they are still actively looking for her. This search brought them to Dwayne's home, where his family is less than pleased to see a police presence at their door.
Shame on you. For what? For what? You were supposed to get back to me.
>> I've been very busy. I can imagine, but it's still your I'm not working a missing person's investigation. I'm now working a death investigation. Oh my god. Okay, so yes, I've been very busy.
>> Okay, I understand, but still >> I And I'm sorry. I understand that, but [snorts] They can't expect you to call us back the same morning. I'm here now.
Though they don't find anything of note at the residence, based on Dwayne's phone records, the Marion County Sheriff's Office conducts a search of the area where Dwayne had described hiding from the car that had been following him. There, they locate an area of disturbed soil and the remains of a woman.
All she has on is a black bra and tan sandals with a white floral dress, matching the description of Sonya's dress, lying on top of the body.
Fingerprint comparison confirmed the remains belong to Sonya Exley. During the exhumation, a label for a shovel matching the one purchased by Dwayne was located in the grave. The shovel was recovered from Dwayne's garage and when tested gave chemical indications for the presence of blood. The major DNA profile matched Sonya. Following Dwayne's arrest, investigators were contacted about his case, but not by Dwayne.
Another inmate came forward after he had a series of conversations with Dwayne.
He describes what he told him about his case. He was in a business, but not a certain business, but he was in a business of like people who didn't want to live anymore. He would help them, kind of like a system.
A similar discussion came up in Ginger's interview. Because back when I was sick, before my transplant, I got really, really bad for a little while and we talked about it helping me end it because I didn't want to wind up a vegetable. It occurred to me just the other day, actually, that when Sonya started talking to him and started breaking down and crying and saying she can't handle it, she can't do it, she can't do it, I'm wondering if he if he saw me hooked up to all those monitors and all those machines just barely staying alive and miserable and in pain and I'm wondering if maybe he just couldn't watch that happen again to somebody he cared about and he changed to helping her end it. And this is how you wanted to die, right?
You wanted to be beaten and made to suffer because you're such a piece Say it.
I needed to be beaten and suffer because I'm such a piece of This is sad. Holy crap.
>> [snorts] >> You're not being forced to say that, right?
So, are you getting what you wanted?
You're not being forced, right?
>> Are you pleased? Are you happy?
I think it took her 2 years to talk him into helping her leave this world. This is really >> interview, the inmate says that Dwayne did not seem concerned about his case and discloses that Dwayne told him he had a contingency plan. It's like backup just in case he can't do anything or something like do something in case that, you know, the case start closing up around his neck. Knowing that Dwayne had potentially set up a contingency plan, investigators took a look at his Facebook messages. There they can see that he sent his friend a photo that was later deleted with the message, "We'll need this back in 6 months if this storm passes over with no lingering fallout.
Please, for the love of shadows, don't lose this box. These are very precious and valuable personal items." While serving a search warrant on the friend's home, Dwayne's friend revealed to investigators that he'd received a package from Dwayne containing an engraved knife and sheath that he purchased for him and a bracelet. He then sewed the knife, sheath, and bracelet into a small black fabric bag.
The blade of the 7-in knife was engraved with the words, "Dork warf pointy end goes in the other guy." The friend explained that the engraving was him making fun of Dwayne's use of the Dark Wolf name online.
In his interview, the inmate tells investigators that he asked Dwayne about Sonia's death. How did she die? He was Now, how he said it where did he make me believe it? I have an exit All right, you know, because he was like, you know, to be honest with you, it wasn't like the easiest. Okay, I'm going to assume this night. And how did you want to die?
What What was your chosen way to die?
Kind of describe that. What have you been consenting to here today?
You mean the way that um you're talking about killing me.
Uh you consent You consent to what kind of treatment beforehand that you feel like you deserved?
To be stopped.
Yeah, that's what you want, but the last day or two what was your treatment been?
What did you ask for leading up to that?
I can't remember. We've talked about so many different ways.
A color-changing test was conducted on the knife recovered from Dwayne's friend. It returned chemical indications for the presence of blood. The DNA profile matched the profile from Sonia.
He was like, "It wasn't easy, you know, it wasn't like just one and done." An autopsy determined that Sonia's cause of death was four sharp force injuries likely caused by a knife. When her body was first exhumed, investigators noted that she had four stab wounds on her left side and a curved placement between her back and under her breast.
But he kept her for days to torture her before he did this.
Is the problem. The manner of death was determined to be homicide.
Are you being kind of coerced? Are you being forced into this?
But he didn't He did tell me he was sorry and he He doesn't I don't think he regrets it because it's hard to watch somebody go through pain like that and to be too scared to Not this lady being okay with I can I can understand it. I can I believe it was honorable. And he was like, "No, I don't feel like I've got anything on this list. This was this one's wishes." He's not really the monster that everybody is thinking he is. I think he really actually cared about Sonia and didn't want to see her suffer anymore. As he suspected, more charges were indeed coming. Dwayne Hall has now been indicted for murder in the first degree and kidnapping. He has entered a plea of not guilty and the case remains ongoing.
Holy [ __ ] that was crazy.
That that was sad.
Oh, look, y'all were just talking about uh the crash. Y'all want to talk about The car was investigated.
I love Annie Elise.
Yeah, admirable. Yeah, that was really that was really sad.
Um Yeah, if somebody ask you to kill them, probably don't.
I just feel like it's not a good idea. I just feel like it's not a good idea.
Probably don't do that. Um that lady was clearly suffering. If somebody ask for something like that, you get them help.
That's what you do.
I have not heard of that.
>> aggravated vehicular homicide.
I was just kind of shocked. I didn't really know how to process it all.
Oh, I think I do kind of remember it.
car flipped two truly was a horrific crash Sonia >> Sonia, there's a occupant inside. We got to bust the window out. She was like mad. I just felt like there was more to the story than just an accidental crash.
And and drove his car drove the car into his face, right? Welcome back to an all new episode of Serialously I love Annie >> [music] >> And thank you uh Hello, hello, hello and welcome back to an all new episode of Serialously with me, your host and your true crime BFF, Annie Elise. Now, if you are brand new listening to this podcast or watching this YouTube channel for the very first time, let me just give you a breakdown. My name is Annie and what I like to do on here is not only deliver and present a true crime case to you, but do it in a way where it is the full deep dive. Going down the rabbit hole so that you don't have to. All the details, the social media activity, past relationships, everything that you find yourself Googling yourself when you're watching a documentary. I find all that information out and then I present all of it to you. But my goal in doing that is to do it in more of a conversational way, as if your friend or best friend was telling you about this case that they just heard about and that they can't stop researching or thinking about or talking about. So, again, if you're brand new, that's what we do over here.
If you enjoy it, subscribe and follow the podcast and you know, we like how it goes every single Monday a brand new case You also might be familiar with the name because it's the case of Mackenzie Shirilla. A name that a lot of people do know, but many don't. You also might be familiar with the name because Netflix just released a documentary about this case called The Quick and the Dead. And what's really interesting is there's a lot of division with this case. Many people believe that what happened was intentional, that this is, you know, the product and result of a spoiled young girl who had in her life and then the moment she had something went wrong, she decided to take it out on everybody else. While some say, "No, this was absolutely accidental. She was too young to know how severe this was going to be and what her actions would truly cause."
And there's a little bit of conflicting opinion out there. Now, I will say this personally. I first covered Mackenzie's case years ago and with that I have done extensive research. I've interviewed a lot of people close to the case. I participated in a documentary back then where I was shown a lot of privileged information before it even went to trial, different things like that to where my belief is that this was absolutely intentional. But again, not everybody agrees with that and that's certainly okay, which that's my point in why I'm coming on here today. I want to present the case to you with a set of fresh eyes, new perspectives, everything we've learned, things that have come out post-trial so that then you can really decide for yourselves what do you believe? Do you believe that this is all just a horrific, tragic accident or do you believe that this was calculated and intentional? So, let's start here. I want you for just a moment to imagine being a teenager again. Cuz And I say again cuz I feel like a lot of you are I feel like we skew a little older over here. So, but if you are teen, you're involved, too. But I want you to imagine being a teenager, and you're just graduating high school. It's that super exciting time in your life where you're young, you're full of life, you have dreams, ambitions, there's parties, there's excitement, and like you just can't wait for what's to come. But then, you get word that three other teenagers who live in your area, potentially even our classmates of yours, were in a deadly car crash. And even more than that, one of the worst car crashes that first responders had ever seen in the Ohio area. It rattled the entire community. There was shock, grief, confusion, but above all else, there were a lot of rumors. Rumors that took what seemed to be a very simple, yet tragic car accident into something potentially far worse. So, let's jump right in. In the early morning of July 31st, 2022, the peaceful suburb of Strongsville, Ohio, nestled outside of Cleveland, became the scene of a heart-wrenching tragedy that rocked its tight-knit community forever. Initial reports began to surface about a devastating car accident involving three people. 19-year-old Davion Flanagan, 20-year-old Dominic Russo, and 17-year-old Mackenzie Shirilla. Both Davion and Mackenzie had just graduated from Strongsville High School just a few months earlier. Early on in the investigation, law enforcement believed that Mackenzie Shirilla somehow lost control of the Toyota Camry that she was driving and then crashed into a brick building on Alameda Drive at 5:34. It wasn't till approximately 45 minutes later at 6:15 a.m. that a passerby, We're going to watch this, but just from what I remember, I remember thinking it was intentional. I don't know what I'm going to feel after we watch this, but a runner who was out for their morning jog came upon the wreckage and immediately dialed 911. When law enforcement arrived, they found all three passengers unconscious, unresponsive, and trapped within what was now just a brutally mangled car frame. The first responders from Strongsville Fire Department worked quickly to help get Dominique, Davion, and McKenzie out of the car.
Unfortunately though, both Dominique and Davion were declared dead at the scene.
McKenzie, who was driving the car, was critically injured and flown to MetroHealth Medical Center.
Investigators waited for the results of her blood testing, which would show if drugs or alcohol played a role in this crash. The victims' families and the community were completely grief-stricken and frankly just sick about this.
Dominique and Davion now had their potential dreams and futures abruptly cut short. Dominique had started a successful business and always talked about all of his big plans for the future. And Davion was a fantastic football player, well-known in the community, and had plans to open up his own barber shop after high school. But now all of that was gone in an instant.
The community's sadness and loss eventually led to many questions. Why was this a one-car accident? If McKenzie lost control of the car, how did that happen? What was going on inside the car leading up to this? Was McKenzie intoxicated or under the influence of some type of drug? Why were all three of them even over on Alameda Street in that part of town in the early morning hours to begin with? It's not anywhere where McKenzie, Dominique, or Davion lived, so where were they going? And how could this possibly happen?
McKenzie underwent extensive medical treatment for her injuries and somehow survived miraculously. However, she said that she couldn't remember what happened leading up to the crash. She said that she had blacked out. Now, just for a moment I am going to draw on my personal experience for a second. A lot of you know who have been with me for a while on here that you know that I was in a horrific car accident when I was 16 years old. I wasn't wearing my seatbelt, I flew at the windshield, knocked out some teeth, ended up having brain surgery from how awful this car accident was. And I can say, even now, I still do not remember anything from that accident. And I wasn't the one driving, but I was in the accident, and I'm still blacked out. I remember leaving the house that morning, I don't remember the accident, I don't remember the final the moments coming out of the accident. the first memory I have is when first responders were already there on scene and they were cutting me out of my clothing and getting me out of the car, but I don't remember anything else.
So, there has been a lot of speculation if McKenzie was in fact blacked out during the accident or not or even has a recollection of the memories leading up to the accident itself and if that's true or not. And I while I don't know in her situation if she's lying or if it were true and we'll talk more about that as we go on, but I do want to mention that it is entirely possible to black out even the events leading up to the collision itself because for me it that is what exactly what happened. So, while law enforcement began going further into their investigation, many people in the community began to talk and the community had strong yet mixed feelings about what they thought happened here.
Some people thought that this was just a tragic accident, but others who knew McKenzie and Dominick and knew them more closely began to believe that this wasn't an accident at all.
>> Listen, I don't like to judge people based on their looks. She looks a little crazy, okay? She look She looks a little >> Slam slam.
>> You know what I'm saying? She She just And she started to go She giving me these kind of vibes.
That's all I'm saying. She's just giving me these kind of vibes. And instead, it was something far more sinister.
McKenzie and Dominick began dating in 2021 and they had an overall tumultuous relationship. They would break up, get back together, and then they would do it all over again. The pattern just was on a repeat. And I know that that can be sort of a vague statement saying that a relationship, you know, is tumultuous, but we're going to get into their relationship more in just a little bit here. So, stick with me because a lot of information has come out since I first covered this case. Daveion was one of Dominick's close friends. According to news reports, Daveion, Dominick, and McKenzie were hanging out at a party and smoking a little bit of weed the night leading up to the crash.
>> so much for your support.
>> offered to give Daveion a ride home.
McKenzie was described by people who knew her in high school as selfish and entitled. And she never had to re- God, please don't let them do me like this if I ever go out. Don't let them do me like this. Kaylee was selfish, a piece of [ __ ] I mean, don't let them do me like that.
>> take any accountability for her actions.
She always just kind of got away with everything. After McKenzie began to recover from the accident, many of the posts on her Instagram and TikTok really upset people as well. And we will get into specifically what she posted here shortly, don't worry.
>> [snorts] >> Most of her social media has now been deleted, so I couldn't find much except for a few screenshots here and there.
However, people in the community who knew her from school commented on social media about McKenzie's behavior, and all of those comments are still public. Some of the posts said that her parents knew about her drug use, and that her mom would like some of the pictures that she posted when she was smoking weed. And some pictures sparked outrage because people thought that she just was moving on with her life as if nothing ever happened with no remorse at all. There were also some pictures McKenzie posted with her and her friend dressed as a weed for Halloween, which also caused a huge stir online. Several classmates weren't surprised that this horrific tragedy resulted from McKenzie's actions, even going as far as to say that she probably would have killed someone one day anyway, and that she only cared about herself and herself only. Other people felt like McKenzie had definitely done drugs, and that that is what caused the crash. And the police seemed like they weren't doing anything about it. And now this was another situation where McKenzie would just get away with her selfish and dangerous behavior once again. Well, all of that online speculation and discussion over what happened that tragic night wouldn't matter for much longer because a few days after Halloween, everything changed. It turned out that the police were not letting McKenzie get away with anything, and they had been conducting a thorough investigation this entire time.
On November 4th, 2022, McKenzie was arrested. According to court documents, McKenzie faced a total of 18 charges.
Counts one and two, aggravated murder.
Counts three, four, five, and six, murder. Counts seven, eight, nine, and 10, felonious assault. Counts 11 and 12, aggravated vehicular homicide. And all of these charges were related to that crash on July >> Faith with, aggravated attempted vehicular homicide, which she tried to run her dad over with her wheelchair.
First 2022, count 13, trafficking, count 14, drug possession, and both of these charges were for the magic mushrooms that were found inside the car. Count 15, possessing criminal tools, and this was for a digital scale that was found in the car. So, there were 15 charges in total related to the car crash and to the deaths of Dominic and Davion. The other three charges were for allegedly breaking into the Columbia Church of God in Columbia station on July 19th, 2022.
Those charges were count 16, breaking and entering, count 17, vandalism, count 18, desecration. McKenzie's blood test from the hospital revealed that she had THC and LSD, and she was likely high.
Okay, we'll hold a different type of memorial service for me. So, I want a crash out memorial service, and then let my family have a real memorial service for me if I ever go down, okay? Y'all hold one, and I want the worst shots y'all got. The best moments, the funniest moments, the craziest moments, and the worst shots y'all got.
high at the time of the accident after their investigation and talking to witnesses who saw her that night. Even though mushrooms were found in her car, this was apparently not in her test result. McKenzie's bail was set at $500,000, but she didn't get bailed out of jail and remained in juvenile custody until it was time for trial. The body cam footage of McKenzie's arrest was finally released in 2025, and I have to be real with you. It's an absolute doozy, and I don't use that word lightly. I personally hate that word.
And I don't want to give too much away before I show you guys some of the clips, which for those who are listening to the audio version of this, you'll be able to hear what's happening, but I do encourage you, pop over to YouTube, watch the visual as well, because I think that will provide more context.
But, what I have to say is that McKenzie shows absolutely zero remorse. Zero remorse for any of the crimes that she was being charged with.
All right, McKenzie, step out for me.
I'm Detective Kazoo. I'm the one who's been investigating the crash. You're under arrest for aggravated murder times two, okay?
Nobody's going to ask you any questions.
Nobody's going to bother you. Can I have your keys, please?
Could you please be careful taking this one off so it doesn't break the bracelet, please? You got it. You got it. Okay, McKenzie, I'm going to take your handcuffs off. I need like all the jewelry you can come off, okay?
I can't wear any of this. No, I need you to take it off while you're in jail right now.
I can't wear my jewelry in the jail. I can't wear these.
Mhm, no. Unfortunately, everything's going to have to come off right now once we know when the detective comes back and we know for sure what's going on. Oh.
Everything's going to be bagged up here.
It's not going anywhere.
How old was she?
Sorry, this is just like one of those really hard to get off. That's fine.
Take your time. Her first response to being told that she was being charged with murder was to take care of a bracelet. Take care of a bracelet so that it didn't break. And then, after being told that she could not wear any jewelry in jail, which obviously should be common sense, right? But I guess it's not all that common, who knows. She started to break down. That's what rattled her. That's what made her upset because she couldn't wear jewelry into the jailhouse. I mean, again, it just kind of goes back for me at least into this spoiled, entitled young girl thinking that the world revolves around her. But anyway, back to her arrest.
You guys know I better focus. What I love to is I sent you. You know what app, but for all of our merch sales, everything, and it is just so easy and user free when prosecutors and the judge agreed to try her as an adult. When the crash occurred on July 31st of 2022, McKenzie was 17. Her birthday is on August 2nd. So, she turned 18 just 2 days after everything happened. She had a hearing in April of 2023 via Zoom, where McKenzie pleaded not guilty as the judge continued her bond at $500,000.
But again, McKenzie remained in custody.
During the hearing, the prosecution told the court the evidence in this case overwhelmingly indicates that these were intentional and purposeful deaths. On July 19th, 2023, almost a year after the horrific crash, McKenzie had her first pre-trial hearing. During the hearing, McKenzie did not accept a plea deal that the prosecution was offering, and her lawyer indicated that they were prepared for trial. So, the kid that she killed's sister started a podcast? In the US, you have a right to a trial by jury or a bench trial. If defendants want to waive their right to a trial by jury for whatever reason, they can. And this can be a defense strategy if, for some reason, they are worried about what a jury verdict would be. Some defendants may feel like they would have more of a fair shot if the judge were to decide their verdict based on the law, fearing that potential jurors would make their decision based on emotion and not the law necessarily. However, that isn't the only reason that people waive trial by jury. There are a number of reasons why people choose that route. Additionally, defendants do not have to provide a reason to the court for their decision to waive a jury trial. So, with that, that's what Mckenzie chose, and her bench trial was set for August 7th. The first day of trial began on August 7th, just 5 days after Mckenzie's 19th birthday. During opening statements, the prosecution detailed all of the moments leading up to the devastating crash.
6:15 in the morning, Strongsville police and emergency personnel uh received a 911 call. They revealed that the black box inside Mckenzie's vehicle had been clocked at 100 mph. Black boxes aren't the official term. It's an EDR, or event data recorder, but these devices record driving and vehicle data from immediately before, during, and after an automobile crash. And that wasn't all.
They also had cold, hard evidence to prove this, because when the accident occurred, a nearby building security camera caught the entire thing on video.
In the video, you can see Mckenzie's car going extremely fast before disappearing off the screen and ultimately crashing.
The prosecution also said that this didn't just happen based on reckless driving, either, and they would present a witness who overheard Mckenzie's threats. That he observed at that time the defendant striking Dominic Russo with both hands, and that he overheard her make a statement, uh an admissible statement, and she said, "Dominic, I'm going to crash this car." We find that it is especially an important to her state of mind just 2 weeks later when she used a car to kill Dominic Russo. Despite this, McKenzie's lawyer, Mr. McDonald, of course, had a much different perspective. He argued against the insinuation of intent.
Instead, he said that this was a tragic accident rather than a premeditated act.
How can you come to any conclusion other than if anything, she's reckless? Is it just kids being kids? Is it Dominic grabbing the steering wheel? Is it McKenzie maybe speeding and say, "Oh my god, dark out, it's late. I'm coming up to this. I better do something." She goes like that to avoid an accident, not acting purposely, but in fact trying to avoid it. Is it sudden sudden acceleration, panic?
Those are all possibilities. Mr. McDonald also said that the side airbags going off in the final seconds before the crash could have contributed to the severity of the event. He said, and I quote, "It occurred in about 4 and 1/2 to 5 seconds before. It's a significant force that makes a huge sound. There's talcum powder or some type of powder that is let go. So, if they only have 5 of recordings, and those 5 seconds are all what happens after the airbag is deployed, how can you come to any conclusion other than if anything, she's reckless?" During the course of the 4-day trial, many first responders and other witnesses were called to the stand. It turns out that there was more to the crash than just that video of McKenzie flying by at 100 miles per hour. There was another building that captured footage of McKenzie turning on the street before pressing on the gas.
In this video, you can see McKenzie driving at a completely normal speed, braking as she prepared to turn as well.
Her blinker was on and was signaled to the correct direction that she was going. This video was key to the prosecution's argument that this was intentional and wasn't some wild situation where she was driving completely out of control the entire time. Even worse, experts spoke about the EDR box in McKenzie's car and said that through their investigation, they were able to determine that McKenzie had the gas pedal pushed all the way down and made no attempt to ever even use the brakes. The crash team analyst also said about 1 second before the crash, the steering wheel made a hard right turn of 142.5 degrees. It also showed that the impact from a sign in the grass outside of the building, which may have triggered the airbags before slamming into the brick wall. McKenzie's attorney questioned the analyst about the wheel moving in an attempt to insinuate that it's possible that one of the victims moved the wheel by saying that it's basically impossible to know who pulled that wheel and caused the crash. suggested that because it was dark, maybe it was hard for McKenzie to see. But even in his defense, he conceded that McKenzie's handling of the car was in fact reckless. When the prosecution reviewed the crash scene photos and the photos of the victims during their autopsies, Now, listen.
This is why we control who our kids date. Okay?
This is why you get control of your [ __ ] kids.
This is insane. If you know your kids are in a toxic relationship, you need to do your part to get them out of that toxic relationship because this can be the result of that, okay?
This is This is terrifying. This could be your babies, okay?
Everyone in the courtroom was extremely emotional, including McKenzie. And Dominic's mother, Christine Russo, testified. The courtroom vibe changed instantly when she began her testimony.
Everyone could tell that she had once cared deeply for McKenzie. After all, McKenzie had even lived with them for a while, but the love story that she painted between her son, Dominic, was far from rosy. It seemed like they were always at odds, with threats and arguments overshadowing the good times.
She also brought up a text message that McKenzie sent her after the crash, where McKenzie said, "I remember turning onto the street, and then my vision fades to black. It really kills me not being able to remember anything. I promise you I would tell you. I've been asking my therapist why I don't remember, and she said it's because of trauma, but I'm going to try to get hypnotized and make myself remember. Going to try to get hypnotized and make myself >> Russo took his turn. The raw emotion in his voice said it all. He talked about how McKenzie and his brother were constantly on and off again, saying I witnessed a lot of negative behavior from her to my brother, and that just kind of pushed me away as a big brother figure because she just wasn't fair to him.
Listen, I get it that you can't control who your kids date, but you need to make sure that your children are confident enough in themselves, love themselves, so that they don't stay with someone like this who treats them like [ __ ] Are you still the straight Listen, I I black it out. Hot dog flavored H2O.
Thank you for sticking with us the whole Let Let everybody know how good last night's stream was. Y'all need to go back and watch last night's stream.
One of Dominic's friends, Christopher Hench Martin, was also called to the stand to testify. This was to testify about an incident between McKenzie and Dominic in a heated fight where she threatened him. According to court documents, on July 17th, 2022, approximately 2 weeks before the deadly crash, McKenzie was driving her vehicle on Interstate 71 with victim Dominic Russo as the passenger, when she threatened to immediately crash the vehicle. McKenzie was upset over a disagreement between the two of them, which resulted in Dominic seeking the help of his mother, Christine Russo, through a phone call asking her to come and pick him up. Dominic's friend, Christopher Hench Martin, went to pick up Dominic and remained on the phone with Dominic during the incident. While on the phone, he heard McKenzie state, "I will crash this car right now."
McKenzie exited the highway onto Route 82 between Pearl Road and Bagley Road.
As the friend pulled up to get Dominic and McKenzie's car pulled over to the side of the road, the passenger door opened and the friend observed McKenzie striking Dominic with both of her hands.
Dominic then exited the vehicle and left with his friend. The prosecution also brought up another incident in July of 2022 between McKenzie and Dominic.
According to court documents, in July of 2022, within the same month as the deadly crash, McKenzie again made multiple threats toward Dominic. Videos recovered from Dominic's cell phone revealed the altercation involving McKenzie where she could be heard repeatedly degrading Dominic, threatening him, and damaging his property. It is understood from the videos that Dominic was not comfortable letting McKenzie inside of his home at the time, and he made multiple attempts to reason with McKenzie to calm the defendant down and communicate with the defendant in a better manner. McKenzie refused these attempts and can be heard banging on Dominic's house door demanding to be let inside. McKenzie called Dominic a multitude of degrading and highly inappropriate names. Despite Dominic's efforts trying to reason with McKenzie, she refused to listen and continued her erratic behavior.
Exceedingly important are the threats made by McKenzie to Dominic throughout the incident. She threatened to key Dominic's car if he would not let her in, and she verbally calmed down at multiple times in an attempt to force Dominic to let her in. She repeatedly told Dominic that this was his last chance to let her in, and she stated, and I quote, "You're going to come open this door right now or there's going to be a serious [ __ ] problem." She threatened to break the handle off the door and can be heard hitting and damaging the door as well. McKenzie stated, and I quote, "Dom, I'm going to give you one last second or else I'm keying your car." Dominic then had to call his mom for help and stopped recording. Now, that phone call that I just described has actually been made public. The original call was about 9 minutes long, but honestly, it doesn't really take the full 9 minutes to see that McKenzie was threatening him. She was antagonizing him.
You literally broke up with me earlier because you are a little [ __ ] weak [ __ ] This is your last chance to open the door or you are not coming out of this house all night cuz I will not leave.
You literally broke >> Y'all can suggest whatever cases y'all want me to cover.

I will I will break into it. This It's not It's not your house. It's not Dom, now open the door. Now open the door.
You have 30 seconds left on the phone call to open the door or we're done. So if you're wondering how all of these prior acts were able to be brought into trial in the first place, since it's technically 404b evidence, it's because the prosecution filed motions to allow it in, saying that it went to McKenzie's motive. According to court documents, the prosecution believed McKenzie's past threats and aggression toward Dominic provided an important perspective of how McKenzie responds in situations where she is displeased or in disagreement with others. Further, the evidence shows that she was aware of her ability >> I put a section in Discord for you guys.
Um hi Blessed Mama Ash.

need to cause harm to the victims, especially by means of her own vehicle, and how she could use the power of threats and control to ultimately reach the outcome that she desired. The other acts evidence confirms that there was no mistake or accident in deliberately crashing her car and ending the lives of the victims. Dr. Esther Sang, a MetroHealth trauma surgeon who worked on McKenzie's medical report, was also a witness in the trial. She told the court that McKenzie told their team at the hospital that she did not remember what led to the crash. The prosecution also asked the surgeon to read part of the medical report. She said, and I quote, "Patient then became tearful processing heavy loss and a depression since her accident. Patient shared feelings of grief, guilt, and shame. Patient stated she wanted to die and that it was her fault for killing her boyfriend."
One of the prosecution's theories was that McKenzie was afraid that Dominic might break up with her or really leave her. >> Queen Dominique or McKenzie that night.
So, either something must have happened in the car, or she planned on going through with it that night anyway. But, the prosecution had even more damning evidence to prove this was in fact a premeditated planned murder, because there was evidence that McKenzie had been to that area of the crash just 3 days beforehand, and they showed the courtroom data of her cell phone being in that vicinity.
They suggested this as proof that she was with the scene before the day of the crash, and believe that this was her attempt to scope out the area and come up with a plan. It was also brought up that maybe McKenzie was trying to kill herself along with Dominique and Davion in the car, but just happened to survive.
Okay, can I be honest? I used to walk into the gym, and I would immediately go over am I supposed to be doing hip it costs less than $8 a day, which is insane Oh, wait. Maybe I do hold up. Wait a second.

>> Near the end of the trial, she had a very different angle on what might have caused that tragic crash. She said that Mackenzie has a condition called POTS, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, a condition which causes dizziness. When the connection between the crash and Mackenzie's condition was brought up, her mom said that it could be. Mackenzie's aunt also testified with a much different story of what Mackenzie and Dominic's relationship was like. She believed that the two were honestly head over heels for each other, despite all of the rumors and talk about them having a rocky relationship. Many people felt that Mackenzie's mother's testimony was another example of her mom trying to excuse her daughter's bad behavior.
Sherilla is also facing charges of felonious assault and aggravated vehicular homicide. The judge says she'll deliver a verdict on Monday at 1:00 p.m. And then, the verdict was in.
There is nothing that I can do or say today that will return these two young men to their families.
There is nothing I can say or do that will restore Mackenzie Sherilla to the life she had before March 31st, 2022.
And there is nothing that I can say or do to restore the lives of these three families.
>> Harmonie Montgomery case, would love to hear your input on that case. This trial is a culmination of decisions made by one person, the defendant.
Those decisions have forever robbed the futures of three families, and the view also Mackenzie. And your decisions forever robbed Dominic and Kevionna of the futures that they had before the accident.
If there is one thing that can be taken away from this case, as painful as it is, it is this.
Every decision we make is important.
Every action we make is important.
Regardless of whether the decision is a good one or a bad one, or the actions are good or not, the result is the same.
The consequences ripple through time and affect many more people than one might think at the time of the decision.
In criminal cases, the state carries the greatest burden under our law, proof beyond a reasonable doubt. She looks so young.
>> I considered all the evidence presented.
And at this point, I would like to comment specifically on exhibit 802, the crash video.
This is the type of evidence you can never unsee. You can never forget the visual or audio of this incident. It's chilling and tragic.
As you review that exhibit, you know that you are watching the oncoming deaths of two people, and there's nothing that will stop it.
The video clearly shows the purpose and intent of the defendant. She chose, of course, the death and destruction of that baby.
Exhibit 802 crystallizes the deadly decision-making of the defendant. She morphs from a responsible driver to literal hell on wheels as she makes her way down the street. McKenzie alone made the decision to drive the car, to drive an obscure route, a route she visited a few days before, and a route not usually taken by her.
McKenzie alone chose the time to make the drive, early in the morning, when any reasonable person would expect that few people would be nearby to witness it or offer life-saving I don't know if shrooms would show um She makes these decisions despite knowing, as any reasonable person would, the permission of death could even involve others, not even in the far distance. Other people, other cars, pedestrians.
She had a mission, and she executed it with precision.
The mission was death.
McKenzie alone accelerated the car, demanding the ultimate speed of that vehicle to 90 to 100 mph.
She alone decided what was to be.
McKenzie decided death >> did the same thing. I think she chose not to do a jury trial because she thought that it was going to mean that she would get that like she would have a better chance cuz she knew people was going to vote that [ __ ] straight to hell. Straight to hell.
All right, y'all want to cover the trial on this case, so we'll definitely look into it. finds the defendant McKenzie Sherelle guilty of murder to wit Day Leon Flanders in violation of Ohio Revised Code Section 2903.02A, as charged in Count 2 of the indictment.

Girl, you thought you were going to do this little crash little criss-cross and show him I'm [ __ ] crazy so he won't act out again. No, you murdered him and you murdered his friend, too. You Quit raising your kids to be little [ __ ] monsters. Quit it.
I This is why I'm scared to have my kids out in the world with y'all.
Cuz y'all let y'all kids do whatever the hell they want. Quit raising little monsters. 0.1 of the Revised Code as charged in count five of the indictment.
Count six, felonious assault. Mackenzie was found guilty on all counts. In the video, you can see Mackenzie's family seated in the front row behind her, visibly upset and shocked. As Mackenzie was leaving the courtroom, you could hear her family speaking loudly to talk to her.
Love you, baby.
At Mackenzie's sentencing, the judge heard a victim impact statements from the victim's family. Uh your honor, my name is Jamie Flanagan.
I am the mother of the victim, Dayvon Flanagan. I want to share a small part of what we lost on 7/21, I'm sorry, 7/31 of 2022.
My son, Dayvon, is and always will be so much more than our burden.
He was precious. He was an amazing soul with a heart of gold.
He gave to the world what he wanted most in his own life.
Love.
The kind of love that would rescue a friend in the middle of the night, no questions asked.
The kind that would protect others and >> up. All the calls. One of the mods can go look into that.
>> and infectious smile. He was a gifted athlete. He had plans to go to barber school and open his own shop.
My son did not have a clique of friends, but instead was a friend to all.
He would go out of his way to show love and kindness to others, including those that were often cast aside by society.
The less fortunate, the developmentally challenged, the hurting, and the unvalued.
Dayvon made sure that everyone that crossed his path knew that he truly saw them, that he valued them. Is this the boyfriend or the other boy?
Dayvon and my kids have had more than their fair share of heartbreak, of hardship, and of loss.
>> Thank you, Squirtle. Dayvon was adopted with his sisters from foster care.
They're biological siblings.
We are honored to be chosen or to have been chosen to be their parents.
Their forever family. I am devastated by the loss of Dayvon. The world lost a truly special man.
My girls lost their best friend, their protector, the one and only She took away.
This is the only person that these two girls One thing I always say about siblings is there is no one else in the world that know if you were raised with that sibling, there is no one else in the world who knows the pain and suffering you went through as a child better than your siblings.
Who know what you felt.
And that's why I always tell my kid like that's what I say to the kids when they fight or whatever. This is the only person in the world who's truly going to understand your history.
And this boy was the protector of these girls and he was removed off this planet by a selfish little [ __ ] who didn't care that he was in the backseat.
Uh those poor girls I I'm glad they were adopted. Um I think it's a beautiful beautiful story, but it it's just sad that they had to endure another tragedy because you don't even know what tragedies they went through before that to be put in the foster care system. And it it just you not only ruined your life that day, you ruined your boyfriend's, his family's, his their friends, you ruined this kid's family and friends life that day. Like it is just sad. trusted family that has been by their side from day one.
This alone I he alone understands the pain and love that they have for each other.
>> are.
>> And he's always there for them. This fact alone breaks my heart my girls side. For my family.
So many dreams shattered, a future stolen.
We will never get to see the amazing man that he was shortly to become.
He His life was precious. Like I said, he was so much more than a common thug. I pray daily for strength and perseverance for myself and for my family. I also pray that McKenzie will find eternal rest in her heart. Well, I'll have to look into that page. That sounds interesting.
>> all of those that worked so hard to help us bring justice for our son. We are forever thankful.
Davion, we miss you terribly.
But as Christians we pray with the hope we will make sure your memory lives on.
And may the day come that we are reunited again in eternal life.
>> [ __ ] you should be balling during that.
Hello, could you start with your name?
Hi Ronald, my name is Davion Flanagan.
Um Davion was my older brother.
Passing of Davion my little brother again has been very difficult for me. We have gone through everything together since day one. Davion was a big brother to me and my other three young brothers.
We all got adopted together and he got 12. After Davion passed away, a lot of trauma and pain has passed into my life.
It's always been difficult to grow up in this household.
But this is a traumatic event. Davion was like a big brother to me for a long long three years.
He was the first person I trusted in my life because he was my older brother.
Taught me to be a man and learn how to be a man with his charity and his love and everything in my life.
The memories we have are strong but losing him has taught me the value of life.
Yes, how God works is something you can't understand but it's worth it in the end.
I don't want this pain for anyone else.
I don't want people to have to go through this. I'm the age of I hate this guy with a passion because he stole because someone decided to take his life. Now that Davion is gone, I feel stuck. I feel as if I can't move forward. I feel lost. I was a fool. He was the one who picked me up when I was down. He was my best friend and the only person that has taken a place in my heart since I was born.
I would >> [clears throat] >> I would like you to give him the maximum amount of time possible sentence. I knew her for about three years and actually she always taken me seriously.
We will be eligible for parole while my brother will be gone forever. Thank you for being honest. Yeah.
I've never seen this man down this hallway.
No one wanted this to be a murder.
For the punishment my cousin is to go with this accident I did.
Who is this person?
The evidence from the county has proved that the county should go with a murder in my son and Dominic and his little baby girl.
There's no fix for winning this case. If the shooter was the one to reply to killing them.
But I think both police department in the state of Ohio for speaking the truth behind this car accident. Thanks to them we we all know what happened in that car on that day. What we don't know is why it is.
I wish I could change this every day. I lost three children in that crash.
And then it goes by and she said that I didn't love myself.
It was baby girl. My house burned down.
To Christ Kerm from the Stroh family has been convicted.
I have nothing more than lack of remorse.
And this is where we had a choice.
Damon and Davion didn't have a choice.
We are all that are moral.
But what gave Damon and Davion a loss and no rehabilitation in any way?
And by any person who was intoxicated July 31st, 2022, Colt told his mother hysterically the loss of my son Davion.
I didn't think that this was a hospital.
And the first thing he said to me was to Oh, please don't listen to what everyone is saying on the Facebook.
Yeah. Wow. His son is dead.
His friend is dead from the trauma and the loss.
And social media is mostly part Social media has made a name out of the life of McKenzie and has made a name out of this horrific tragedy.
No need to imagine. I bet she was pissed she had had let this girl live in her house and everything else. I mean, I just can't even imagine. I'm just not healing this world.
Because I'm a new person because she did this.
Be thankful that you're still alive in the future, whatever that may be. Damon and Davion will run into a real future.
Their homes and their drivers has shown no mercy on Damon and on his young Davion.
Only God in this time can ever truly understand.
Thank you for the To hear their pain is so unbelievably heartbreaking and just unimaginable.
When I was researching this case, I found a GoFundMe for Dominic's gravesite. The GoFundMe was from his sister and it read, "Hi everyone, I'm Dominic's oldest sister. Dom tragically passed away on July 31st, 2022. He was 20 years old and our hearts were left shattered to pieces. Since then, myself, my sister, and mom find comfort in keeping his gravesite a site to see for everyone to come and enjoy. It started as his parents and siblings trying to hide the dirt after his burial and it blossomed into this beautiful memorial site that keeps us working together in honor of Dom. My mom tends to it every day for hours, whether it's printing pictures for everyone to look at, adding solar lights, adding decorations, keeping up the landscaping around it, adding and exchanging hundreds of flowers, laminating letters and pictures, finding trinkets to add to it, or beautiful statues, etc. This is what we do it for, for Dom, and it's in honor of our beloved brother and son. Friends and family leave memorabilia, notes, pictures, things like that that remind them of Dom. Somehow yesterday, his grave was set on fire and everything burned to the ground. Nothing was salvageable except a cement cross. Most of the items were irreplaceable, such as flowers and ribbon from his funeral, letters from his nieces and nephews and friends and siblings and parents, stuffed animals, things that can't be replaced. The items cost us thousands of dollars and will cost us thousands to replace. Most items were very expensive.
We spent on the flowers alone originally around $1,200. Each solar light decoration can range up to $50 a piece.
We are asking for any donations from friends and family so that we can get his gravesite back to how it was and before July 31st of this year, which marks his 1-year anniversary. Dom's grave means so much to us. Words can't explain. We miss and love you so much, our Nuchi baby. Until we meet again, your sister loves you." Since then, the GoFundMe has been updated stating, quote, "Hi everybody. Just wanted to say thank you for all of your generous donations. We were able to recreate Dom's grave beautifully. Any further donations will go to purchasing updated memorial items, such as flowers, etc. in the future.
>> What did I miss? I was reading something. I missed something. What did I miss?
Somehow yesterday his grave was set on fire and everything burned to the ground.
>> It will cost us thousands to replace.
>> What the hell?
>> Most items were very expensive. We spent on the flowers alone originally around $1,200. Each solar light decoration can range up to $50 a piece. >> the only one that said that because of course there's other people that love him and care for him and of course there's other people Your Honor, there's very little that I can say after hearing from those who loved Dominick and Davion.
Um in regards to the It's It's despicable.
Anybody that trashes a gravesite or anything like that, you you are a garbage human. You are a garbage human.
I don't like of anyone. I I think defacing anyone's gravesite, I don't care except maybe Jeffrey Epstein, you can deface his.
But there's somebody mourning the loss of that person, okay? I do get it. But like that's crazy. Just don't Don't [ __ ] do that.
impact that the defendant's conduct had on these families' lives. And we have received a series of letters that has been submitted on behalf of the defendant. And in summarizing these, they describe her as you're student and a loving and caring person.
Um and that she could never do something like this. And they continually, despite the verdict, refer to this as an accident, an unfortunate accident, and tell you that she is also a victim.
And there are just a few things that I think is important for the court to consider in determining a sentence today.
Um part of the evidence in this case and introduced in trial uh was evidence from the defendant's cell phone. There were search warrants executed on her various social media accounts, her school records, her medical records, things of this nature. And I think that who she actually was is directly um contradictory to what is painted by the letters submitted on behalf of her today.
I'm not even cool. I'm just one of those girls that can do a lot of drugs and not die. You know what I'm saying?
Oh, that's embarrassing.
I'm not a figure, I'm not a 10, I'm not a figure like a doll. Don't care if you think I'm dumb, I don't care at all.
Candy blessed, sweetie pie, want to be adored. I'm the girl you die for. I'm the kind of girl that can do drugs and like not die. I'm the girl you die for.
Both of those videos were posted on her TikTok.
>> Shortly after the crash, Strongsville police were notified that they had uh received concerning emails from the community that the defendant and her mother were seeking employment with a Los Angeles uh modeling agency.
Kenzie Shirilla said to Vitaly, "Thank you for the comment. I would love to work with you guys. I've been emailing you guys a lot. Such a great opportunity. Thank you." Is there a date? There is not a date on this video.
>> Not this girl trying to be cute.
>> um it was delivered to the police while uh the defendant was still in the uh MetroHealth Hospital. So, it was during that time period. She was in the hospital for several weeks.
Shortly after being released from the hospital, the police were provided additional videos of the defendant from her wheelchair as she attended a concert uh down in the flats. And again, Your Honor, I'm introducing these to the court to show the shocking lack of remorse. This was uh something that was being exhibited while the investigation was still going on before she was charged and arrested in November of last year. And these were the sort of things that were coming to the police and the shocking lack of remorse coupled with the fact that the defendant uh was reported driving of an automobile and shortly after this event that she was seen in Strongsville uh again driving a car. In spite of the fact that as her mother testified, she got dizzy sometimes from a condition that she had to take salt pills for.
Um in spite of the fact that it was in fact her mother who provided her with the car that she used to take Dominic and Davion's life.
And I'm just going to say it. I literally cannot with any of this [ __ ] with her. I literally cannot with this. The Instagram post while McKenzie is in the hospital days after the accident with her and her mom responding to a modeling agency in LA, are they out of their minds? I mean, maybe, but I think we know now where McKenzie may have learned some of her behavior, which no shade, but just saying. McKenzie's mother also gave a statement before sentencing. And honestly, when I was watching this, I could not believe it. I contemplated if I wanted to include the whole thing, but I think it really is important because it gives so much insight into what all of these claims about who McKenzie is and how she acts were really about. Can you start with your name? My name is Mary Ellen Kubicki.
I just want to say Mary Ellen was the first one that I called. Sure. I just want to say to the families that I'm broken.
Say that again loud and my heart is broken for everybody. Okay?
Except you, [ __ ] Lean over and say it to her.
Okay? I'm just so sorry that this happened to your family.
Okay? And then your honor, this was a terrible, tragic nightmare accident that happened to her. She has no memory of it and she will never emotionally or physically recover of it recover from it.
She will speak to and we're asking that you please not grant the sentence to the consecutive whose family we all love each other.
That morning of the accident, she called I got a phone call that she that was a car accident. And so we went to the hospital and I didn't even know who was in the car.
The neighbors had come out and confirmed it. And I was driving so I was like "What's up?"
>> Wait, who is this lady? Who is this lady? Is this her grandmother?
Who is this lady?
Who is this lady?
This is her mom? Okay.
Girl, girl, bye. I was being nice. Girl, bye. Don't be facing that family.
No, don't worry. Your daughter lives.
Loved him so much you let your daughter go live with him, right? You loved him so much you let your daughter treat him like [ __ ] right? Because I'mma tell you what, I don't give a [ __ ] how old my kid is. If I hear you disrespecting somebody like that, mama's going to say something. Mama going to say something.
Well, she's a murderer.
She is a murderer, ma'am. That's why.
social media and speaking and calling her a murderer and making death threats and organizing groups that would kill take her out when she got out of the hospital and stuff. So, I don't even want to go there. I don't care about what I don't care about social media. I just want them to stop calling her a murderer so that when she did come to the hospital and she did come out of surgery with multiple surgeries that she wouldn't see all these people calling her a murderer and she wouldn't need her ever ever murderer ever again.
Okay?
Halloween for 3 months after he said she would only listen to his songs. She would only listen to his mixtapes.
She would only listen to the music he wrote, okay? She was laying there for 3 months crying cuz she was crying over him next to her with photos. Well, yeah, and guess what? Guess who else makes shrines, lady? Murderers.
Serial killers make shrines, lady. You got to come to terms. She's a murderer.
things that he liked and this flower that lights up that he got her to his wanted it to be fresh and light forever.
It's like a little if you didn't piece of flower. Okay, she's got this. Why don't you get next to her? Destroy it all. She deserves nothing. friends of his that she wanted to go out to her trainer's Halloween and it was only you.
And she didn't want to go. She said, "I don't know. Should I go?" She couldn't even walk yet barely.
So, I told her, "Baby, please go.
It's Halloween. You've been waiting for 3 months crying only listening to his music. Please go have just a moment of fun. A moment of fun." So, we told her to go.
My husband drove her.
I brought her back home. She just needed a second of fun from losing her whole world her whole world. So, that was us.
We told her to go. And that concert she went to with Dawson's closet and they picked her up. They brought her there. That was Dawson and McKenzie and Dawson and Abby all decided to go to the concert together while they were in the hospital. That was for them. Everything she did after the accident was either in honor of him to boost him or just be by him. Anything that she can.
She's like devastated and trying He wasn't the guy that she brought with him with his cousin. After we spent all kinds of time with him in the accident.
Um what was the other thing you They thought this was going to be her quick 15 minutes of fame cuz she's a [ __ ] loser that wasn't going to go to college, didn't have no education, and they were going to use this to pop off that social media, baby. I'm hearing an awful lot about your daughter. I'm not hearing very much at all. They all They all love each other.
They all spent every day together. You know what I mean? I don't I don't And isn't that part of the problem, Mrs. Shirley? Sorry? Isn't that part of the problem that they all trusted each other? Isn't that part of >> It's not a problem at all. It's a problem with how they all ended up in the car together and two of them ended up dead. I understand the accident. I understand what it looks like. I'm I'm I'm saying that it was an accident. She would know. Well, we're going to have to disagree on that. Right. And I respect your position that you disagree with me.
I didn't mean But anyway, that's not I just wanted to address those We told her not to go to those things and then she didn't go.
That's the family. So, look at that.
Don't look at it with the police.
Look at that. Look at that with the police. The guys that didn't care This is That those things are not relevant. I shall say. Not at all. No.
Being number three Objection. This is irrelevant to this case. It's a message This is irrelevant to this case.
>> Okay, I don't know what Not at all. I agree. If you would If you would If you would have a moment, all you would need is a 5 minutes of conversation with that with her to learn who she is.
Doesn't Doesn't take 5 minutes.
>> I think we learned who she was. You can talk to her and you can look into yourself. The freaking audacity. I mean, I don't even know where to start, but let's break this down. First of all, that was the most insincere apology made to the victims' families that she could have possibly come up with. Second, why the hell was she referring to Davion as a new friend? I'm glad the judge called her out on this and said, "Well, does that make his death less bad?" Instead of a statement on behalf of McKenzie, I believe she made these things 100 times more worse for her. Her entire little speech was trying to argue with the prosecution just said about her instead of I don't know saying just about anything else. It is truly unbelievable.
McKenzie spoke and begged the judge for mercy. The family didn't Oh god, they're here.
So, so deeply sorry.
I'm a poor baby to see. I would never let this happen if I was in my right mind.
I wish I could remember what happened.
I'm just so sorry. I'm heartbroken. I loved having Davion. We were all friends and now he was my soulmate. I wish I could take all your pain away. And I'm so sorry.
And to my family, thank you for the support and all the love you guys give.
Thank you for inviting me. I love you all so much.
Annie, now is not the time for an ad.
Lately, I've a real When it came time for sentencing, the judge did not mince words and the judge absolutely slammed Mackenzie.
Today is the sentencing of the defendant for the purposeful and intentional murders of Davion Flanagan and Dominic Russo.
And in a way, it's a second time their families are gathered again to grieve.
It's also a day when Mackenzie's family will grieve for the future of their daughter.
All three of these families and the friends of these families are suffering.
And all of their lives have been irrevocably changed because of the actions of the defendant.
The unintended and collateral consequences of a selfish, intentional, and cruel decision by Mackenzie will ripple forever in time.
It's literally changed history because it's ended two lives.
Two young men are dead.
Their deaths were horrible, terrifying, and tragic.
I will say again, if any reasonable person reviews exhibit 802, there can be no doubt in your mind what happened this night.
There can be no doubt of the absolute terror of the two people in that car.
The defendant controlled all the events.
She chose the day.
Specifically, she chose the day just before her 18th birthday.
She chose to drive the car. The time to drive the car. That is extremely convenient. She did it the day before her 18th birthday is kind of crazy.
are She chose an obscure, previously scouted route through an industrial parkway. She chose the target to hit and the victims.
She chose the means and the method to follow through.
And she planned and purposely executed the events of July 31st, 2022.
The review of the evidence supports the factual findings, the forensic testimony, the testimony of the first responders, the testimony of the emergency room doctors who treated the defendant, the testimony of the coroner's medical examiner, the testimony of those who knew the victims and the defendant, and the testimony of the Shut up. She said in a phone call the other day she hopes that Kim Kardashian can get HER OUT.
GIRL, THAT ain't happening. BMV officials who provided evidence that not only did the defendant deny any medical condition when applying for her license, which her mother co-signed and attested to, but also that just after the accident Mackenzie renewed her driver's license, and again denied any medical condition. Oh, that's embarrassing, girl. That's embarrassing.
>> In fact, the defendant was so concerned about driving that as the state mentioned during the investigation, she asked if they could just suspend her license for 10 years.
It is hard to fathom how a person could be concerned about their driving privileges having just been responsible for the deaths of two people.
There was no medical condition that caused this as an accident. There was no mechanical failure of the car.
The record is clear on the facts and the evidence.
Her mother's uncorroborated statements without any medical testimony or records is not persuasive.
It's also important to remember that even if Mackenzie intended to also die in this crash, that is irrelevant.
A failed suicide attempt is not a defense to murder.
And even in a murder-suicide attempt when a perpetrator executing the plan survives, the other death or deaths are still murder.
There's only one person who's responsible for the pain of everyone in this room, and that person is you, Mackenzie.
Nobody else is responsible.
This isn't the fault of Dominic >> Shout out to or Dave Young's family.
>> this judge literally And I know that each of you have asked your questions to yourselves, what if?
What if I had done this or that?
The truth of it is, none of us can control the intentions of another. And when there is a purposeful intent to harm or kill someone, it is a perpetrator alone who bears the responsibility for the choice and the consequences and the harm that follows.
The difficulty for sentencing today, honestly, is whether or not I believe you should get consecutive sentences.
I'm troubled that should I give you a concurrent sentence that people will believe that somehow I'm being disrespectful to one of the victims.
And on the other hand, I have to weigh the punishment.
There's a very good likelihood, Mackenzie, that you will spend the rest of your life in prison.
That won't be up to me.
That will be up to the parole board. And that will be up to you to a great extent. Mackenzie was sentenced 15 years to life, meaning she will be at least 34 years old during the first time that she is eligible for parole. And unless Mackenzie shows true change, takes accountability for her actions, or does some serious self-reflection to realize the devastation that she caused, This is the problem. So, this is what the Idaho uh murder victims, this is what they Some of the family was upset with it, some of them weren't, to take the plea deal.
His sentence is his sentence. He's not getting out. Now, here, they will have to go back to court, relive all of this [ __ ] [ __ ] in 15 years.
That is the problem. Is every or whatever, every time she files an appeal, they will have to go back and relive all of this, how their children were murdered by this selfish girl's choices.
And I'm going to be honest with you, you know what's going through a lot of people's mind? Did she get such a light sentence because she's a pretty white girl?
A skinny, pretty white girl?
And it was two two mixed boys?
Um I'm just saying. She already tried to file an appeal and got denied. Good.
Um So, it is sad that the families will have to always wonder, oh, when oh, she filed an appeal again. She did because she's going to do she's going to do that until she gets out. She won't sit in jail for life.
Mark my words. She won't sit in in jail for life. Um She won't.
She won't.
Why do you think that they don't take Gabby's [ __ ] seriously? Cuz they're a white family.
>> [laughter] >> I mean, I'm just being honest with you.
Do you think that officers would show up and be nice to a black family who was a social media had a social media presence?
Like I I'm sorry. I'm just being honest with you.
She's insane. You never know what she will do and such. Um maybe unless she That's what I'm saying. If she doesn't do anything else in jail, she will get out. It is basically I'm I'm not judging off of what she could possibly do in jail. I'm saying if she never does anything else, she will probably get out. Okay? Um Look at Casey Anthony. She's a pretty skinny white girl.
Got away with some [ __ ] She very clearly helped with the murder of her child. Got away with it.
Um Yeah, not only her appeals and each time she comes up for parole. Exactly.
I would like to go over the calls with her mother. I I This is very interesting. This is very very sad.
Apparently, she's in trouble numerous times. Uh it doesn't surprise me. to her victim's families. She will be lucky if she gets out the first time she's up for parole. So, that now leads us into some major updates in this case. After her trial, McKenzie got a new legal team, and they were doing everything in their power to prove that McKenzie was innocent. They claimed that she had a medical episode that occurred at or around the time of the car accident, and what they're calling {quote} the incident. And they're saying that that medical episode caused her to ultimately lose consciousness, which then resulted in the crash. They also claimed that key evidence in the case had been missed during her trial. Evidence that they say proved that Dominic was actually the one threatening McKenzie and not the other way around. Now, this proof that they had, it was text messages from McKenzie's phone. And one of the text messages is from July 17th, 2022. It was sent at 12:45 p.m., so just afternoon, and it said, {quote} "Can you come get Dom? He just grabbed my steering wheel on the highway trying to spin out my car and hurt me." {end quote} Then, that same day, just a few hours later at 4:27 p.m., Dom texted McKenzie saying, {quote} "I'm sorry." To which she responded, "That is not enough to fix it this time." So, with these messages, her new legal team is saying, "No, no, no, no, look. He is the one who put her life at risk in the past. He is the one who would antagonize her. We have a history here. We have a pattern." Which, to be honest, I think there was probably toxicity in both directions in this relationship. In October 2024, McKenzie's defense team then filed its post-conviction relief petition, otherwise known as a PCR. And in this, they requested a new trial. But get this, you can't just file those things whenever you and your defense team are, you know, feeling up to it. It's something that has to be done in a timely manner. And McKenzie's defense team, well, they were 1 day past the deadline that is mandated by Ohio law.
So, Judge Nancy Margaret Russo, the same judge who found her guilty during her trial, denied this petition. Which, look, I can understand the frustration with that. Technically, yes, you got to follow the rules. If it's mandated by state law, there's a deadline. I also can see the argument where people will say, "It was only 1 day late, like, you know, don't be so rigid. Let it go in."
All of these things. But then, I think when you do that, you have to make allowances for 2 days late or 3 days late. I don't know. So, I understand the frustration here, but I also understand why why decision was made. So then, McKenzie's parents broke their silence.
Now, up until this point, they were not doing interviews or any public appearances whatsoever. Now, why they finally decided to, who really knows?
Maybe it was a Hail Mary, maybe it was trying to humanize the situation. It's really unclear. And I want to play some of it for you because if nothing else, I feel like it's fair to say this family sure has Oh, wow, that's cool, Dr. Drew.
>> Okay. Now, again, if you are listening to the audio version of this, it will be clear, but there will be captions and video on the YouTube version. I struggle [clears throat] with this because how can I feel bad that these two boys died and feel grief with these families and then be absolutely overjoyed that my kid is alive. Show me one piece of evidence, one, that says she did this on purpose.
Show it to me. Here it is. That's it.
Then she's right where she belongs and she's guilty of it. But there isn't any.
There's no evidence what was going on in that car other than the information they I mean, didn't they say that there were people that heard her scream she was going to wreck the car?
gleaned from the black box information.
>> And these poor families think she did it intentionally and she didn't. And there's like And they don't know.
There's information they didn't see.
There's information they didn't have.
There's information we didn't see or have. Girl, she was >> Absolutely not. Should she be in prison for aggravated vehicular homicide? I don't even know about that.
>> I don't I don't I don't know about the aggravated part cuz I don't think you can still say why I was going so fast.
Should she Should she have been charged with reckless vehicular homicide? Two counts? Absolutely. Absolutely.
>> was medical What kind of hopes, what kind of expectations do you have for McKenzie's future?
That the truth will set her free. That's what I need to have happen. The truth that there was no intent. That part of the truth will set her free. When I first saw this interview your life harder. You're not mad about your daughter. Your daughter was living with this kid. Like, come on, you don't care.
My jaw was on the floor. Honestly, I don't even really know why. I mean, McKenzie's mom had proved to us before that she just rambles and makes excuses for her daughter. So, I don't know why I expected her to change or for there to be a different tone to this conversation or what, but it somehow still surprised me. And I think if I were McKenzie, I'm just, you know, putting myself in her shoes for a moment, I'd be telling my mom, you know, zip it. Stop talking. Go into hiding. I don't need you speaking on my behalf anymore because at this point, if she keeps it up, she may ruin any chance of McKenzie ever getting out on parole. And while we're on the topic of the whole Sherrill family, we also have to go over another thing. I never had too much hope that McKenzie would show actual remorse. I think she's entitled. I think she thinks that the rules don't apply to her and I just never expected to see genuine remorse from her because to me, McKenzie has already proved that she has always seen herself as the victim and that she probably always will think that way. And in the summer of 2025, there were some jail calls between McKenzie and her mother that were released. One of the calls was from August of 2023 and it was about a court hearing that McKenzie had been through. And instead of just describing this call to you, I'm going to play you some clips again because I feel like it is much better hearing things through their mouths and how they deliver the statements. So, take a listen.
How you think I did, okay? Yeah, that prosecutor was pissing me off though. I don't know what he's like I don't know.
I'm like I was getting so pissed off.
Like I wanted to like get up and be like, shut up and like tell him to sit like so bad.
He was pissing me off. He was Well, I have nothing to hide. You can ask me anything you want. All I've been eating is peanut butter, bread, and cookies.
Yeah.
Yeah, I'm excited to see how that Please have somebody get that paperwork for you.
I know, I'm going to.
This is just irritating as Yeah. Yeah, but I don't >> like how I Like I don't like how I can't come out of my room. Why the [ __ ] am I on a 7-day hold? That just pisses me off. It's just part of the procedure.
There's nothing you can do about that.
>> I'm the third victim and it's me and I lost the love of my life and a good friend and now I have to deal with this grief the rest of my life and deal with like being a scared to drive driving stuff like cuz that's just like I don't know.
Poor you.
>> I know, honey. There's nothing I can do about this though.
>> just pay my bond to get me out of here, please?
Oh my god.
Hello, Nance. I almost said thank you to somebody. What are you talking about?
I don't know how much an appeal is.
Okay? So, can we just wait until Monday?
Okay?
Yeah, let's just wait until Monday and when I can just probably I'm probably They're probably going to take my bond away on Monday.
That's what I mean. So, let's just wait.
We'll see.
>> that's what you mean? They're probably going to say there's no more bond on Monday.
No, we don't know if that's true or not.
I know this whole situation. So, you're going to have to wait. This is just wrong. What they're doing is so wrong and they're just trying to use it.
I know.
Yes, I'm getting very irritated like and I need to get the [ __ ] out of here cuz they're just trying to [ __ ] me over bad as [ __ ] McKenzie also brought up her medical condition claiming that it had now gotten worse after her seizure child and that now she was having even worse episodes than she ever had before. First of all, when I got diagnosed, nobody ever told me I couldn't like anything about driving.
>> a license. Exactly. No that's not right.
That's right.
Nope. And if we if we do have to, then we will. Yeah, like I don't care. Like why would we lie and just not do that?
If that if I knew that I would could affect my driving, I probably would never drive like No, no. People No, people are allowed to drive with that. So, don't say that. And ever since I got in here, it's been bad again. Like I don't know what it is.
Like Like I blacked out the other day and like it was so weird. It was like not normal.
Like it wasn't like bad how it usually is, but it was also like not like good.
I don't know how to explain it. It was like the first time I've ever had a blackout like that. Like it was like weird as [ __ ] I don't know how to explain it. Well, just make sure you're eating, okay? When you get your If you can do your commissary, make sure you get some chips. Now, like I said >> Get some chips, girl.
Get some chips, And I'm really curious to know what you think about that though because when this case first exploded, it was honestly the overwhelming majority of people believed that McKenzie was guilty. That this was intentional, entitlement, audacity, all those words, right? No question. But now with some of these text messages coming out and McKenzie and her medical condition claims, do you feel the same? Do you feel like there's room for, you know, questioning that and that maybe it's not as black and white as people thought? Do you think that those text messages are enough to potentially change the outcome of this case? And do you believe that there's a world in which some other scenario occurred and that's what caused the crash? That it wasn't Mackenzie's doing. Whether it was one of the passengers grabbing the wheel or some sort of genuine medical episode that triggered it. I don't know. Let me know in the comments. Like I said at the beginning of this episode, I still firmly believe what I believe about this case. Yes, I don't think that those text messages are great, but again, I think it just shows toxicity from both sides.
I still think that even if it was a medical episode, I would imagine that there would be a level of remorse. Even if when I got into a car crash in the past, I like I had someone in the car and I just rear-ended somebody, you're remorseful even if it's an accident, you know? And so even if it was this thing that she had no control over, where's the remorse and the accountability with that to say like, "I'm devastated. I can't believe this happened. Da da da.
Like my illness, I need help." I don't know. It's just not quite landing for me. But maybe I'm rigid in my views. Who the hell knows. So curious to know what you guys think about this case. Maybe I will also throw a poll up on Spotify just so that we can gauge what everybody's thinking. But take a quick second, if you're watching this on YouTube, leave a comment that says, "I think this was intentional." Or "I think this was an accident." And we can gauge the responses. And for all of my podcast listeners, if you're listening to this on Spotify, you can vote on the poll, but if you're listening on Apple, leave a review for the podcast and let me know in the section where you can write a review. Let me know what you think about this case. So thank you so much for listening. Let me know too if you watched the Netflix documentary The Crash and what your thoughts are. Yeah, I think there was no remorse and that's the problem for me is that she she had zero remorse. She even, you know, like I get it. Life goes on after something tragic like this happens and I know there was a tragic car accident here in my town when I was in high school and um it was not this girl's fault, but three other girls died in the car crash.
They were on their way to a football game. The driver survived and she she lived for a very long time with survivor's guilt. That is not what this girl is going through.
This chick that had the survivor's guilt did not act like this girl at all. This girl was obviously never charged with murder or any of that type of stuff, but um it those were her best friends, and she had to live with the guilt feeling like, and she did, she felt like she killed them.
But, she didn't. It wasn't intentional, and she had to go through a lot of therapy and stuff to undo that. She wasn't acting like this 5 days later, I'll tell you what, okay?
So, it's It's very sad. Um, there is a documentary about this case that we just went over on Netflix. It's called The Crash.
Um, we might look into some of the the phone calls and stuff. It's all on my doc, so I will look at that and see what we can go over.
Um, we'll we'll see. We can look into it more. Uh, I put a suggestion box in the members chat if you want to suggest other cases for us to get into.
Um, I I like this. I like doing true crime with y'all. We'll cover some more tea.
There is a lot going on. I think she wanted to scare him, too.
I think so, too. Um, if y'all want to give some links to mods, you can message one of the cooters and get some links to them and they can get it on the doc if it's something that pertains to this case you want us to see.
The finish spinny chair saga continues.
Um, I am going to hop off for a little bit.
I will be back tonight. We have some Ash Trevino tea. We will try to do a little more a little more tea tonight. I think there's been some Danny lives we'll look at. So, yeah, I think I'll probably stick to doing true crime more during the day and then tea and stuff at night, okay? All right, I'm going to hop off for now, and while it's not raining, we're going to go outside and enjoy the rest of our day. I love y'all so much.
Y'all are amazing.
Um, wash your hands, cover your mouth when you're coughing because whatever this sickness is I have is lasting over a week and it's annoying.
Um, this was the Diane Downs case. We'll look into it. All right, I love you guys so much.
Y'all are amazing.
I will see y'all tonight. Bye, guys.
