Marta Minujín is an Argentinian artist who has spent over 60 years making art that is impossible [music] to categorize, impossible to collect and impossible to forget. Born in Buenos Aires in 1943, [music] she grew up under the shadow of military dictatorship and developed a deep distrust of traditional art objects, things you could hang on a wall, own, control, sell. So she made work you could not own, happenings, [music] immersive environments. In 1965, she built La Menesunda, an immersive [music] installation that sent visitors through a maze of neon. It is now considered one of the earliest large-scale installation [music] artworks in history alongside Christo and Claes Oldenburg. They call her the Warhol of Latin [music] America.
