The video expertly demonstrates that technical precision is scale-independent, proving that small projects often demand the most rigorous attention to detail. It is a masterclass in how professional discipline transforms routine labor into genuine craftsmanship.

Just Because It's Small, Doesn't Make It Easy!Added:
Hey, hey, hey.
Okay, as the hour is getting late, uh, this is what we came up with.
There's an outdoor kitchen here, so that got bumped out 3 in. So, the brick can sit on that, I think. And this is bumped in because there's a column that sticks out. We went over this a hundred times.
Um the face of the concrete's right here.
And then this column here gets bumped out as well. So tomorrow morning this gets sawzawed off right here.
I didn't want to do that right now and have this just hanging there all night.
So tomorrow saws all that off that lumber that leaves wrapped that in epoam epoam.
Did a sill that took, like I was saying, that took an hour of debate to get that all figured out. This was the frustrating part. That wasn't frustrating. This is when we got here. No steps. So we formed these faces. Now they want steps. So, it turned us into two pores here tomorrow on a Friday. That turned into a little bit longer than we wanted to be here. So, we'll have to pull that face after it's poured and form up two steps and then quickly pour them. Uh, and we have a swimming pool to address tomorrow. So, there's my metal glasses on the street.
>> Friday's turning into a little bit later day.
All right, let's head out of here. Okay, good morning. I hope everybody got a good night's sleep. We're just about ready to go here. Uh, like I said yesterday, I saw cut this out. Now that's all opened up for a a uh brick base to set on the outline of this.
And then over here.
And then we're lined up with the front of the brick right here across to the corner of the brick here. And then it jets out for the kitchen area.
Uh got the siding tape. We may hang plastic back here.
Uh we'll see. I see Steve put double epohone there. And I like that because the post is fully encased in concrete.
So, I think he's gathering up some more and he's going to build those all the way down to aggregate with the epoam.
Let's head out front here.
One important thing I wanted to talk about here.
A lot of times you'll see brick concrete on top of brick porches and you'll see this first course has a crack in it. As the concrete gets poured, if they don't do something like this and concrete gets in these cells, when the concrete dries and shrinks, it pulls that brick back and and breaks apart the uh top mortar joint. So, this will prevent that and keep that all nice because you're right at ground level looking at that.
You don't want to see a crack the whole way. How we looking on fall.
Uh plastic on that. I like that. Uh Steve, are you going to get more epoam and build them down to aggregate?
>> I can.
>> Yeah, let's do that. I I have some in my truck if you need it.
>> Okay.
>> Yeah, it's good. Maybe the brakes >> and right on time. Here we go.
Heat. Heat.
Okay.
Making our way back to the patio. Got the mixer in here. Okay. Walked around our Where did our thing go? Wonder if they had to move that side to side.
Okay. Pork is done.
in position. Good. I like the epohone down.
Go gather up my tools and get back to it.
Okay.
Walking off top. Watching the forms.
Good. One more shoot. We're there.
Okay, there we go. The flooring is done.
Just cuz it's a small project doesn't mean it it's easy. All these tight corner steps, shovel and a sill.
Like there's a lot going on here.
Tape the bottom of that van board now.
Not necessarily pouring and finishing, but when we're brooming now, we don't get the bristle sloppy concrete bristle marks all up and down that siding. And uh that saves a phone call, right?
Okay. Back on the street onto cleanup.
How's this look? You see our fall from house forward.
Looks good. Okay.
Okay. So, this front porch is straight broom, meaning we're not putting a finished edge on it. So, as we rubbed it up, we went ahead and rerolled all of our joints so they look nice. Rerolled all the edges so everything is nice and clean. While we're waiting for the top to set up a little bit more to get a nice broom, we'll go ahead and start pulling these faces so we can get the sides edged, underneath edged, and then uh rub it up and have those ready for brooming as well.
Heat. Heat.
All right, dad's brooming. I'm going to go along with the hand broom. do the bases nice and neat. We got some holes we got to get filled in.
We'll come back to that.
Oh, yikes.
I had to do behind the scenes.
>> That's hard to do while you're holding the camera, not watching.
>> Yeah.
Go long and So, we split into two teams.
Guys on the front porch, couple guys on the patio.
Okay. And repeat four more times.
Heat. Heat.
Heat. Heat.
Heat.
Heat.
So, the mixer got here and they poured these steps while I was over here messing with these couple curbs. So, I didn't think to click the camera on, but regardless, the guys got the concrete in, clean it up real nice for me.
They're going to go meet my dad. Me and Stan are staying behind to finish this stuff. Builder asked us for a favor. And because these guys are so nice, uh we went ahead and did these couple little curb patches knowing that uh you know that that is a band-aid. That's a band-aid fix in case anybody wants to say anything. It's uh it's not a permanent solution. It's just something to make the township happy, to make the new homeowners happy until a more permanent situation uh solution can be addressed. So, Matt and Jim are headed out of here. Me and Stan are going to stay, finish these steps, finish that curb, and uh head on off.
Heat up here.
Oh man, I started pulling these steps and I thought, man, am I jumping the gun. We were getting a little bit of movement. Not much, but I'm glad I started when I did. Um, you know, they turned out really nice, but I kind of wish I would have started a couple couple minutes sooner because by the time we got to the bottom, that was that was tight. I was having a hard time getting the edger in up the side. So, I mean, it sunshine, calcium, a long drive, this stuff took off. But, uh, this bottom step, they're going to be bringing, uh, PA stones or whatever they're doing up to about here. So, we tried to finish, uh, about 10 in or so, uh, maybe even 11. That way, we know our finish will go below their final grade.
Our steps will be looking good and, uh, we can wrap this one up. Might have to measure those steps up real quick, but all in all, we're done here. Uh, we don't have any more concrete going in.
And I think they're doing pavers for the driveway. Something about the amount of per permeable surface. I don't know.
Either way, I don't think we have to make this drive again. Can't say I'm not not too happy about that.
I don't want to drive back down here again. Uh so right now, we're going to get the truck loaded up, head up and meet the other guys. So we'll see you there.
