When LHS1903 was forming, the inner planets built first. Rocky worlds assembled fast, close to the star. Then the two gas giants formed, pulling in almost every grain of dust and gas left in the entire system. They essentially vacuumed the disc clean, but one small region at the outer edge was untouched. Just enough rocky material survived. And over millions of years, that debris slowly clumped together into a full planet in conditions where planet formation should be impossible. This changes everything.
