In online gaming communities, shared experiences, mutual support, and collective problem-solving create stronger player engagement than the game mechanics alone; players who participate in community activities like helping others overcome challenges, participating in charity streams, and sharing stories develop deeper connections that sustain their interest in the game over time.

Story Time: Some Of My Favorite Experiences In Raid Shadow LegendsAjouté :
Gather up your hot cocoa and some warm blankets. It's time for stories.
Hello everyone, Bronn Kar here. We're having some fun talking Raid: Shadow Legends. I do want to thank Raid for sponsoring this video. Raid, you are absolutely amazing for providing that link down below. Get yourself Tholan, Ugo, Toore, Ferkin the Fat. On top of that, use the code wrath to get Padre or use the code raid 7 and get Pelops. Two amazing champions. It's a great time to start raid. There's so much fun stuff to do and you get an amazing set of champions to do it with. So, we are here. We're on the freeto play, but honestly, it's just time to tell some stories. And honestly, they've been looking for some stuff to do. It's a little bit of a downtime in Raid because we're waiting for some fusions. I do think there is going to be a fusion announced next week and probably starting maybe the week after or maybe as late as Thursday. So, look for some news on Monday. But, I figured one of the things that has kept me enticed in Raid and enjoying playing Raid is the community sentiment in Raid.
So, I wanted to talk to you just a little bit about some of those stories.
You know, I can certainly go through some of them. You know, some of them were to my account, some of them were to other accounts. Most of them have happened while streaming, but there's always a lot of fun and some of the stuff that can happen in Raid. And I think some of these stories about communities uniting is fun. Now, if you like to be social, they have a wonderfully active Discord community.
And to be fair, I'm not as active socially on that Discord as I would like to be, but I know there are a lot of really good people there. Both people that love helping other people and people that look there asking for help all the time. So, if you're looking for questions on Raid, you want help with Raid, you want to build a community with me, hop over on Discord, let's build a community together where we can talk with each other nicely. We can actually have some positive interactions. We can help each other out and we can encourage people and cheer for all of our triumphs as well as commiserate with some of our greatest failures. So, my first story is a tale of Doom Tower. And early on, Doom Tower certainly one of the more challenging things that an early account can fight. and I was, you know, maybe about a year into my account at that point in time, but we didn't have as many good fusions at the time. There were so many other things to struggle with. I had never actually finished Doom Tower. And at fair, it was maybe like 9 months to 12 months into my account, but I had never finished Doom Tower and I was super excited to try. So, I had gotten as high as I'd ever gotten beforehand, and I'd already been planning on streaming on the next day.
So, I planned a stream around building the Doom Tower and getting up and actually finishing Doom Tower. And I thought it'd be kind of cool to do on stream. I thought it'd be kind of fun to see people or to see people see me at least struggling with that. And I thought it would be kind of fun. We could actually have people give me suggestions if I was struggling with anything. It'd be a nice community gathering. And of course, this weekend they had had a raid up on a bunch of different stuff. So, I had actually pulled a rotos from a I think it was a sacred shard. my first rodeos on that account and we were super excited and then it was a rate up on I think voids and specifically voids were also had a rate up on CFY possibly. So I got a rate up on CFY while I also got a rate up on voids and I was super excited about that. So, we went and worked on the Doom Tower and I fought with the floors and I worked through the various floors. And just to tell you how telling my team was, I think the two champions that were really good on my team were pre-buff Vlad. So, wasn't necessarily doing two AoE's, but that one AoE that was doing all that turn meter control was super super critical. Sill was definitely on that team keeping everyone alive. and Rooric Wormbbane was one of the MVPs with all the turn meter control that he gave as well as a little bit of extra damage. So, Rooric, Vlad, Sill were the backbone of that team. I might have had Lydia on that team. I'm not 100% sure.
And there may have been Recctor Drath to give me some extra healing. It was a struggle. I had to manual the entire way through. My gear was not particularly great. I don't think I had a champion above 230 speed. and I managed to slowly but surely make my way through the floors, getting to the final floor and beating the Doom Tower boss. One of the floors that gave me the most trouble was the Cify Rotos floor. So, we were joking about beating Cify and then pulling a Cify was just kind of a joke. Then I managed to get some shards. So, there was some nice donations to say, "Hey, pull some void shards. Congratulations."
Kind of nice. You know, it's the kind of thing that happens on a Twitch stream.
And so I said, "Okay, that seems like a great idea. You guys are amazing. Let's pull those voids on stream." I had 20 voids to pull. And in one of those 10 polls, out popped my ciffy. And it was just an amazing, amazingly fun tail. I loved sharing that with the community. I think it's one of the few clips that is actually still on my Twitch channel. You can actually hit exclamation in my Twitch chat and go see that clip. It is on there. It was an amazing time. I still don't think I was talking at that time. So, it was entirely with text to speech as well. We had built a rabid community. It was a lot of fun. Everyone was enjoying themselves and I got a ciffy and a rodos in the same weekend and my account was absolutely transformed. But what I remember most was just sharing that experience with the community. It was absolutely amazing. Several of my other fun stories, now these kind of all blend together because there have been several of them have been revolved around doing faction wars and doing takeovers regularly on my streams. Early on, I would do takeovers all over. It slowly but surely whittleled down to doing my takeovers on Saturday and then unfortunately my streaming has just kind of waned further. I really do miss streaming by the way and just since so busy and honestly I've been working the last couple of Saturdays including this Saturday for this Saturday and the next couple. So uh who knows I will try to get back to streaming on Saturday at some point in time but it just has not been in the cards for me unfortunately.
But doing these takeovers regularly, people would be struggling with faction wars. And so I say, "Hey, let me give that a try." I got known as a faction wars wizard. I was really, really good at dealing with the bosses, knowing the champions you need. In fact, I have an entire series called Derping Through Faction Wars. Yes, derp is actually an acronym, but derping through faction wars. You can go check it out if you're struggling with faction wars normal. And honestly, some of the stuff I talk about is still useful for Faction Wars Hard as well. Even though Faction Wars Hard was several years out back when I made that content. So, we had Undead Hordes is probably the one that was the biggest problem for a lot of people. Demon Spawn was a problem for several people as well, but Undead Hordes was always a problem because Undead Hordes was really difficult to get a revor for. You either had to build out Griner, who honestly I hate Griner as a champion for a support.
Honestly, Griner is actually a really good champion now for these rare rooms because he's one of the few ones that can do a buff strip. But for what you're looking for for faction wars, not a very good revor. So, you'd either have to build him or build Gorgarab or just plain hope you could get through that boss. And that boss was the stun to everybody but one champion. That champion gets feared instead and then try to kill that champion, ignoring defense, making it very, very difficult to resist. Ally protection, great. Not a lot of valet protectors in the Undead Clan. One of the reasons I specifically remember the Undead Horde is because one of the tricks I would often use is UDK came out around this time. So, everyone had a UDK. And UDK was great, but UDK's passive or he took the very first hit only works 50% of the time against the bosses. And on top of that, he is a defense-based champion. So, if you didn't make him with a ton of HP, the boss, ignoring defense, would have just absolutely one-shot your UDK as well.
So, I recall several runs where I would take UDK and hope that UDK would actually protect the revivor if the revor was targeted. And I recall it was just always a little bit of a crapshoot whether or not that would actually work.
But it was so much fun and such a great relief where people were cheering when UDK took that hit when he attacked the revivor and the revor didn't die and we beat the boss and that happened I'd swear three or four times on stream. So running through undead hordes with several people fighting my way to the final stage which often took quite a bit of time as well. I believe the Valkyrie waves is the one of the ones on 21 for the undead hordes as well making that particularly rough. and then finally getting to stage 21 and running with somebody kind of hoping and praying the RNG fell into the right circumstances where he attacked the right person. That person either didn't die or I had a revive ready to go and was able to beat the boss. And you know, sometimes it didn't work. I remember a couple times I just did it and I managed to beat it because the next turn the boss died and I ended up killing the boss but somebody was dead on my team and as a result I got only the one star or the two stars.
It was frustrating. Definitely very frustrating. But we managed to get through it on several accounts. And I just remember the sense of relief, wonderment, and awe of the audience of how I was able to take counts where people had been struggling it for weeks or in some cases months and put some champions together, build five champions and run through faction wars. And it was so much fun helping other people get Lydia, who's still an amazing champion.
Lydia, probably one of the best champions that Raid has ever given players for free in all honesty. And I think it's just been so much fun to be able to contribute to people some of those memories. I know those players are going to have those memories forever of having that final final boss beaten and getting Lydia after all that struggle.
And yeah, maybe they had to get some help, but there's nothing wrong with getting help. And there's nothing wrong with having fun watching other people and helping out your community. And I think one of the final stories I want to tell is actually not necessarily just a story about myself, but just of how great the community here is in Raid.
Now, there's a plenty of people and plenty of rivalries here in Twitch and on YouTube where some players just don't like other people and it happens. You get different personalities. You get people talking and yeah, sometimes it's just a matter of this particular person, this particular entertainer is not my taste. And there's nothing wrong with that. You don't have to like everybody, but for the most part, people can coexist and it's just a pro, just not a problem. For the most part, people can kind of coexist and it's not really a big deal. In this particular case, however, there was a pretty bigger rivalry with at least one or two people where basically one of them had a problem with somebody else and did not let it go and was often complaining about this person. It was unfortunate.
It was problematic. And for the most part, he had just simply banned him from his chat and said, "I'm going to ignore it and let him do whatever he wants."
Well, this person who was going after this other creator eventually actually had a tragedy on stream where his house burned down or his apartment or something along those lines. I don't know the full story about it other than the fact that I actually did see the video where he had to evacuate his house and you could see smoke and it was actually kind of weird and awkward. The guy lost a ton of stuff. The guy lost, I believe, his cat. It was very, very unfortunate. And you know what this streamer who had been harassed by this guy did? He did a stream where he raised over $1,000 to help this victim recover from a fire. And that is one of the wonderful stories that has happened in Raid. Raid helps so many players.
anything from creators like Ash who regularly donate to players like Cloblur who recently ran a marathon and did some donations and actually raise money in the raid community through that. There's some absolutely amazing players. Leila regularly does charity streams. I know a lot of the AMG content creators do some charity streams as well. There's so much charity and goodwill in the raid community. Sometimes it's just in game where players like to help other players out. I mean, I spend a lot of time helping from the comment section before I started becoming a YouTube content creator and a Twitch content creator as well, but the community helps each other out. There is so much love in the community. There's so many people that help each other out, do so many wonderful things. Raid has built a wonderful community that supports each other, and it's one of the things I want to celebrate by talking about some of these stories. The Raid community is absolutely amazing. So everyone, I wanted to tell you a few of my Raid stories, things that I looked back with fondly in Raid, and I realized that most of them are really more about the community than they are about the actual game itself. Raid's a fun game. It's enjoyable to play, but honestly, that is not why I'm still playing Raid: Shadow Legends here today. The secret is the community. The secret is the people just as much as it is the game itself. I enjoy the game, yes, but if it was just the game, I probably would have left a while ago. But with the community we have here plus the game that's also interesting and entertaining. It gives me something to enue to play with and to share with you guys. Both as somebody who experienced things and puts them out there for the world to see as a content creator, but also as somebody who enjoys hearing about what you are up to in Raid, what your greatest accomplishments are in Raid, what are some of your greatest triumphs, tribulations, all of that fun stuff. I love to hear about that. So, let me know down below. What's one of your favorite things you've ever done in Raid? Give me a great story about it. If it's a huge long post, I don't care. I will sit there and read it cuz I love to read these things. I would love to hear what are the things that keep you playing Raid. What are your favorite stories? Maybe you know some of the content creators involved or you want to give them some shout outs. I know Carnage is the one that actually raised money and I've talked about him before as one of the guys that got me into streaming and content creation. a wonderful, wonderful gentleman and he will deny it with his dying breath. So guys, hit that like button and hit that subscribe button. Join that Discord if you want to join a wonderful community.
Really do appreciate you guys. If you want to help support me, support the channel. You know what? Just the like the subscribes, the comments, they're wonderful ways to do it. If you want to support me in other ways, you can certainly do donations. You can buy t-shirts. These wonderful t-shirts right here. I love this t-shirt. It feels amazing. It looks amazing. You can get it in all kinds of different colors and sizes, even with different necklines as well, as well as several other things that I'm linking my merch down below.
And you get something absolutely amazing, and I get just a little bit to help me out as well. But you know what?
I don't need the money. I love the community, and I really do appreciate all of you guys. So, until that next video, I will see you there. I am Bront Catter.
