First Look At EVERY ROBOT At Battlebots Pro League Week 1! (Behind The Scenes)Hinzugefügt:
All right. So, this is a special Wow.
>> Hi.
>> Hi there.
>> How are you doing?
>> Not seeing a lot of robot right now.
>> People are drifting. Yeah.
>> So, what's going on in the magnitude pit?
>> We're practicing.
>> Excellent.
>> We're uh honing honing our skills. Uh >> wait, does this mean Max is driving?
>> Yeah, this is this is magnitude right here. It's uh >> made out of uh it's 220 lbs on the nose.
>> This is the surprise for the >> You put this in a bowl of water right before the fight and it expands.
>> Look at me, Terry Chops.
>> Look at me. My god, >> I am the triceratops now.
>> That is awesome.
>> Sorry I did that to your cart, not your robot just there.
>> I think it's fantastic.
>> It's our rusty armor. We tried to make it look prehistoric.
>> It's beautiful.
>> Thank you.
>> Hi, Ben. Hello.
>> And I'm Raone.
>> Hi Raone.
>> Hello.
>> How are you guys?
>> Doing great.
>> Do you have anything new and exciting in Teratops that you want to tell your opponent and the builder blog?
>> Oh yeah. So our main change is our weapon this time round.
>> Oh yeah. Look.
>> Uh >> it's very triceratops shape.
>> Very triceratopsy.
And we actually changed our weapon motors for it. W.
>> So, these guys >> used to spin the weapon up to about 120 or 150 in about five in a good day.
>> In about 5 seconds.
>> Now, we get to 250 in 3 seconds.
>> So, hopefully should be hitting a lot harder.
>> Wa.
>> Yeah. And I mean, definitely don't look at any of this going on. That's definitely not geared towards anyone in particular >> this weekend.
This kind of looks like a vulture when it's pointed this way.
>> Oh, I see that.
>> Yeah, >> but I know it's >> Yeah.
>> You guys don't appreciate the sheer like aesthetic Teratops has >> with the triceratops shaped blades, >> bones.
>> Triceratops made in >> Made in Long Beach, guys.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> And I I heard there's some fancy wheels.
>> Say Teratops made in Long Beach. and the dimensions and everything for sure. So if we ever make different types of wheels, we'll know which are which are >> amazing.
>> Yeah. And we're we're just going to run it like this on the top. Yeah.
>> Perfect.
>> I would highly recommend leaving this open. Leaving these open.
>> Yeah.
>> Let's see what else. This. You don't need to cover those.
>> Well, we'll just take these off. There's no >> You don't need them at all. Right.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. It'll just go through anyways. So, I have them.
>> Oh, you have four of them.
>> You have four of them. There's enough for you to take out.
>> That That That is good for me to know.
>> Yeah.
>> But also, you've made it nice and hard to get to.
>> Yeah.
>> Cuz if I'm hitting you from back here, I feel like >> you have a big arm to get >> either we have other problems or you guys have other problems.
>> Problem if you're at our side.
>> Yeah.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> Hey, are you guys the we we're here with the disarray team.
>> Hello.
>> Hey. So, we've seen you guys at a couple of different destructathons and face offs. Is there anything new and swanky you want to tell the blog?
>> We've gotten a lot more drive practice in. Getting all the motors tuned up, getting uh Nick, our driver, uh practiced in. Uh so, this is, you know, the best it's driven. Uh new urethane wheels. U we've gotten them tested. Uh you can kind of see the scuff marks on them, you know, but those are uh those are not using liquid dye anymore, so hopefully they don't chunk apart. And then we're testing out uh using magnets for downforce on the so we don't we avoid skidding uh steering.
>> Excellent.
>> And we have forks.
>> Forks.
>> Forks.
>> We're so back with the sound game.
>> Oh yeah, forks for days.
>> Yes.
>> Are these your only forks? No, we got we got all kinds of crazy stuff in the box over there.
>> Wonderful.
>> That we probably won't reuse.
>> Oo, >> this is the same for you, >> but it gives the impression. It get It gets the point across.
>> Get the point across.
>> Yeah. Yep. So, you guys have some >> And we're coming in tricks up here, too.
>> Whoa, look at that.
>> Easy 3. I love it.
>> We also have a bit more reach because we pulled in the armor a little bit closer to the frame. So, >> oh yeah, look at that. That's amazing.
>> Thank you for your time, guys. Good luck with your fights.
>> There we go.
>> Wait, would you like some scorpions here? We can just shove them down your shirt.
>> Only if you'll eat some of my meat.
>> Whoa. This is This is taking a turn.
>> This took such a turn.
>> You were not kidding. You actually have a bucket of meat.
>> I do. And you need meat.
>> Now, are these cat treats? Are you trying to >> No, no, no. These are these are >> meat sticks.
>> Meat sticks. Keto meat sticks.
>> Okay.
>> So, if you uh if you need some energy, put some of my meat in your mouth.
>> No, no, no. They are 100% beef and cheese.
>> It's not cat cheese. I promise.
>> You ever tried to milk a cat?
>> You won't do it twice.
meat.
>> You should eat one first.
>> Oh, you want me to eat? Okay. No, you don't believe the things we're saying.
All right. All right. I' I've eaten many. And look at me.
>> All right. Here we go. On three. Cheers.
Cheers.
>> That's not bad.
>> Salty.
>> Salty.
>> Mhm.
>> But when you need all night energy for working on robots, nothing beats mad cat meat.
>> Excellent. So, I have to ask you, are you doing anything different this year?
>> Yes, >> we're bringing a good robot.
>> Has it caught on fire this time?
>> Uh, we have not Okay, we only blew up one speed controller.
>> That's a lot >> this entire season.
>> So, um, no, I think the the robot that we brought to faceoffs, >> there's not a lot of There goes You dropped my meat.
>> I dropped your meat. So, we are here with the robotic death company.
>> Yes, sir.
>> Oh, and this is the big nasty cobalt.
>> What's new?
>> We're excited to be here. And uh we just got back from Abu Dhabi not too long ago. We did well out there. Went to the finals. We got second overall and uh she got pretty beat up in the finals, but we're back. We're excited. And uh it's Pro League time.
>> All right. Damn, you've been practicing that.
We got Brandon here from MIP. They he uh ended up machining um new tensioners for us, front end, uh components, uh wheels.
So, all of our casters are done um basically out of a normal caster that would go on a on a cart. Um so, he had to machine all those. And Forex Doctor ended up uh doing all the fab work to get Cobalt back up and going from Abu Dhabi. And yeah, she's looking good.
>> Nice. It looks like you got two.
>> Yep. Yeah, we got >> Is it all right if I record the inside?
>> Yep.
>> Yeah, I got the LM motor 170 in here. A lot of people still like that thing.
It's uh you know, tried and true. It works well. It's It We kept spinning even even in Abu Dhabi when we got our face bashed in. We were still turning out there as far as the weapon and and we were still driving. So, chassis got beat up a little bit, but as far as reliability was really good.
>> Are you still using long mags?
>> No. No, we actually have I think it's uh I think it's hyperdrive in there.
>> Okay.
>> So, we are on brush list for that 16s.
Um Derek would know a little bit more than me about everything he's co- captain and he you know he was invaluable in Abu Dhabi and and all the fights that we've had. So, it's it's been good.
>> Love the paintwork on that.
>> Thanks, man.
>> Well, guys, I wish you good luck.
>> Thank you. You too.
>> Go kill it.
That'll be an extra fun one whenever >> this armor's got to go.
>> All right. So, uh there is there's four robots in here. Is doing multi-bots twice as hard as normal bots?
>> Every time you're like, "Okay, sweet.
That'll work. Do it four more times or six more." It depends cuz we brought four, but we brought a lot of parts for six cuz it's two per match cuz we're doing three matches. And how much is going to explode? What parts are going to explode? It's a very fun uh how many spares do you bring?
>> And uh lots is the answer. So >> So for for the people who do not know, um Aaron is doing halfweight robots and so he gets to bring two into each match.
This is a legal tactic, something you only see in robot fighting.
>> Yeah. get to and uh I'm I'm not in this.
This is uh yeah, seems reasonable gets two. There's >> all right. So, who's driving?
>> I will also point out that we have two robots, six motors between the two.
There's only one more motor than Tantrum and Blip had each.
>> Okay, that's a good point.
>> I I'm doing weapon. Uh Dylan's not here.
He's driving. Will's doing other weapon.
>> Alex is doing something. Uh, we took the drive teams from Blip and the drive teams from Tantrum, pushed them together. So, two world class drive teams.
>> Clearly, we can't go wrong.
>> Clearly >> optimal.
>> I've been very excited.
>> Yeah.
>> I I want you to know I I do the children's birthday parties and a kid asked me to come up and tell you you should name them 67.
>> No.
No, you can't say that.
>> I think the definition I would I would then be cringe.
>> Um, >> why too late? Too late.
>> I don't I I'm like whatever the next step of that is, I don't know. It's not good.
>> We just got to build more robots and they'll be the number six and number seven.
>> Someone Someone over here really did like that suggestion.
>> Yeah.
>> Alex naming the robots uh six and seven.
loves it.
>> So, it is this similar to the Tantrum and Bip Blip frames or >> uh it's got similarities. The biggest thing is all of the motor pods are now attached to the very center piece of the robot. Um so all the drive rails that come on and off are totally passive systems. I think there's one sitting a cart over there.
Um so those bolt side and plug in.
There's no but by plug in I mean mechanically.
>> Wow.
>> Um there's no electronics on it.
>> Yeah.
>> That is some crazy machining.
>> Got to save some weight.
>> Wow.
>> You know what's annoying and complex?
Making halfeight robots carry to full weight robots.
>> I I would fully agree.
>> Fully agree. Well, >> but yeah. On that note, they have the same drivetrains as tantrum flip in them each and more magnet. So >> Oh my god. Well, I'm excited to see your first match tomorrow. I'm going to get out of your hair so you guys can get ready.
>> Good luck.
>> Thanks for having us.
>> Hi, Nick.
>> Welcome back to the builder vlog.
>> So, I see you're fashionably late.
>> Oh, a little bit.
>> Just late enough that people came by are like, "Do you know where Manta is?" And I'm like, "I don't know."
>> I didn't get the memo. But, uh, yeah, didn't sleep last night, but that's just that's normal.
>> You Your robot looks ready.
>> It is ready. Yeah, the robot's robot's all good. I have some spares to make today, but >> we're looking good.
>> Sweet. I like your cart.
>> Thank you.
>> People have really upped their cart game. I feel like everyone watched the Wachi video. They're like, "You need a cart."
>> I got pretty jealous when I saw the robot spin around. It's not that fancy, but >> it's nice.
>> Yeah, >> that looks custom welded.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> All custom.
>> It fits Manta perfectly. The legs just fit right in.
>> Sweet. What do you use to connect to the back?
>> Uh, >> is it just forks?
>> Yeah, the rail system is just this tube >> and then these rollers.
>> Uh, yeah.
>> Nice. And a winch.
>> The winch pulls it up.
>> Very simple.
>> It helps a lot when working when working on the robot alone.
>> I can I can lift it off tables and put it on the floor by myself and test. Yes, >> I'm really glad I built it.
>> So, I saw your video. How much top armor did you bring for me?
>> Oh, just a little bit. Not too much. You know, >> something.
>> Have you been more So, are you more worried about me or Valkyrie?
>> Uh, you can be honest.
>> Honestly, >> there's like a lot of unknowns. I've never faced a top attack robot. Um, so it's very scary. Um, Valkyrie. I I faced Calypso and that's not out yet. But, um, so I have a little bit experience with an undercutter, which is nice, but I don't know. You guys are You guys are really scary. So, >> is this your half inch AR you were talking about in the video?
>> Yeah, >> that is chunky.
>> Yeah, >> these are 38, which I thought were very thick to begin with. They still are. Um, so I got I made up a set of these just kind of for fun because I had to wait and >> I just wanted to see what they would do.
>> Yeah, that was fun to weld.
>> All right.
>> So, new shiny drum and then I take it these are the two old drums.
>> Yeah.
>> Which one fought them? Um, not deep sex.
Triton. Triton.
The Tryan drum is the one that broke at Robo Games.
>> Oh >> yeah.
>> That drum had like 15 or 14 fights on it.
>> So um that drum had a lot of mileage on it and eventually broke arrows, but that was the one I fought and cracked the tooth off. That was also a welded drum.
>> Is this machine?
>> I have I have two that are a solid piece now.
>> Wow.
>> Yeah.
>> Oh god.
So, I get a brand new, fresh, perfectly balanced drum tomorrow.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> Damn it.
>> There's also the possibility of it just exploding because it hasn't been tested.
But, you know, >> I I want you to know we put my robot together and the bell tension was way off. So, the one that's fighting you is currently in pieces.
>> Oh, jeez.
>> Good thing you have like what, three, four robots?
>> No, we have two.
>> Oh, two.
>> There there is technically a third.
There's enough parts to put a third one together. I just don't want to.
>> Yeah.
>> All right. Well, Nick, I wish you luck.
Not too much luck, but at least enough luck to be respectable. Ditto.
>> Is that all the beans, Jeff?
>> No.
>> No. You got you guys set up spinning at about what 180 right now there >> I'm messing with the uh stuff that the current >> sounds I've I've now recorded you on the Calypso team the Cobalt team helping helping the jackpot team. Are you officially on all the teams, Derek? No, I'm just uh keeping myself busy.
>> So, Derek wants to be on any team that was probably going to win. So, he can claim that he won.
>> I mean, with the man's skills, I think he could get on any >> team.
>> Wait, is he old enough? Does he have a driver's license yet?
A learner's permit. That's good enough.
>> So, you guys may have noticed I didn't talk to this guy today or this one. And that's because Ray has been running his own YouTube channel and has thoroughly documented his process coming to this tournament. If you'd like to see more about Tombstone and what he's done, please hop on over to Ray's YouTube channel and check it out. Also, our last video had a very in-depth look at the new Jackpot. Uh, if you really want to see Jeff went over all the details from his new batteries to his new crazy motor in our previous video, uh, please like and subscribe to the builder blog. And if you want to see details on these two guys, check out the other vids. But uh let's hop over to the Valkyrie pit and see what Leanne and Bam are up to.
All right, that looks beautiful. I wish all my armor was that pretty.
>> We love our We love our sponsors.
>> Oo and Ooh.
>> So, you know, robot not together, but at least it's looking good. Got to look good.
>> I mean, it does look like a Valkyrie. I I do see the big V.
>> So, you might notice this uh this is not aluminum, but it's going to get covered by pretty stuff, and no one's going to know. No one's going to know.
>> We're not telling anyone.
>> So, I I heard some parts did not show up, and someone is currently driving to LA.
>> We um over the past three weeks, we've been playing hide-and-seek with our Battlebot. Over there's six boxes. We're slowly discovering one at a time. Um, and we just found our last one >> approximately 21 hours before our first fight.
>> Okay, >> we found the last box. So, John is currently driving down to LA to pick that box up to come back up so that we can shove it in our second robot, I think. So, the robot that we're fighting you with is going to be the most ready robot.
>> Oh, good. Good. I'm glad I could >> where you're going to be our only fight where our epoxies are actually properly set and everything.
>> You know, it's Imagine what that would do.
>> I I think I I think I'm not going to have to imagine. I think you're going to show me.
>> Yeah.
>> The hard way.
>> So, what what do you um What are you scared of us? Like Like >> I >> What do you think?
>> I I do. I know.
>> No. No. I I'm interviewing this guy now.
>> I I do like my chances against horizontals. My robot has a very good >> What's your What's your What's your track record?
>> I beat Tombstone. I beat Blood Sport. I beat >> Oh, uh Rotator is the one that got us.
The one that got us. Um we beat Calypso.
We beat Roundhouse.
I know there's a couple more I'm forgetting.
>> So, you're four in one against horizontals right now.
>> Yeah. They're like six and one.
>> Six. Yes, you guys might be seven or it's going to come 6'2.
You are a very good horizontal driver.
I've recorded you at many tournaments.
>> Thanks.
>> I've been watching those matches like what does she do?
>> What do I do?
>> Uh somehow you always dodge, get away, spin up, and then rip them in half.
>> It's as if that was intentional.
>> Like a leaf and then dive bomb. I I I don't even think about my driving that much as you have.
>> But I'm glad. Uh >> oh.
>> He's scared.
>> So >> he's filming. He's filming a builder blog right now, but I'm filming him.
>> She stole my phone.
>> So now I am the content.
>> Okay.
>> All right.
>> Now, now you're a camera person.
>> So out of the three, of the three, which one are you most scared of?
>> This one.
say having my robot done is probably the biggest fear.
>> It's this one.
>> It's That's the biggest fear. No, none of your opponents.
>> You know what? I'm fair. The shelf. The shelf. The shelf sucks.
>> Yeah. I think uh I mean all all three robots are capable of box rushing. So that sucks. But I think Yeah. Your wedge is the thing that make me worried.
>> Are you going to box rush us? Of course.
>> Of course. Why wouldn't you?
>> If anyone's worth their salt, they box rush you.
>> Yeah. Exactly.
Unless there's like some reason why that hurts him. But yeah, >> well I think Manta doesn't actually box rush.
>> I was wondering >> like I I always see him spin up first.
Even when he was fighting Triton, he let Triton get to full speed. He got to full speed >> and then it was a huge shower of sparks.
>> Okay.
>> Well, that's not what you're going to do.
>> No, no, that's not I am going to be in your face.
>> Why are you revealing your cards?
>> What? It's not really revealing my cards. If you've watched any of my fights, you would see I just >> rotator.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> Wait, that one was old. That >> actually That is the one horizontal that beat us.
>> Yeah, I know. We have a list of everyone's fights.
>> Okay, so apparently Leanne's done more of this research.
>> I'm about to do that right now.
>> I I'll watch a bit of fights. I'm gonna I'm going to go watch some more.
>> I haven't watched all of them either. I mean, the thing is is like it's like the the head game, the psych yourself out thing. And like I think that the more you like get in your head about it, the like the initial plan to stick with the plan has always tended to be our go-to.
But if you start to psycho analyze and like go backwards, like I remember when Subzero put a bunch of stuff on top of their robot for huge and it just like hurt them. And Jonathan was like, "Ah, I love it. The head game is the best part because if you get in their heads then they aren't gonna I know what they should run but they won't figure it out because they're too overanalyzing and think they need to put some more stuff in the way. And so in this case with us it's just like well if we over over analyze we're going to definitely come up with something that probably would have been I wish we hadn't done that. So we just kind of picked a plan chose go and we'll see.
>> Hello Price.
>> Hi.
>> How are you?
>> Uh upright.
>> Yeah that's a start.
>> Yeah. So, do you have anything new?
That's That's not a Calypso.
>> Uh, no. That's uh That's Long Island's uh New York. Okay. It's It's a robot.
>> Yeah, we don't talk about Long Island, New York, right?
>> I I I don't know what that means, but >> neither do I. My stepdad was born there.
>> Is there anything new and exciting you want to tell us about Calypso?
>> Um, >> it's here.
No. Uh we we've we basically come into this with a lot of with a lot of a lot of uh new experience. Uh yes, you can you can you canoop it off if you like because >> these are our new 1 in forks.
>> You guys didn't didn't see these last.
>> No, we didn't. Yeah, >> because uh the these were these were forks that we used to fight fight Manta.
>> Um and then we fought Banshee and also Disray with them.
>> Wow.
>> We just kind of really liked them. Um >> we as staff get to wear roller blades.
>> Uh >> is that right?
>> As you can see, there's like the new sort of like front plates here.
>> Yeah.
>> As you can also see, >> his eyes are covered. I have one, >> but I have my electric skin.
>> But it also still looks like ice with the with the material.
>> Yeah. He just he just looks so much more stressed out.
>> Yeah.
>> Which you are putting it into battle. So >> hopefully >> stressed out might be a valid >> stressed out is valid. Uh you know, we we're hoping we're we're hoping we get a fight. Hoping. We're hoping. Uh we are the uh only alt effectively at at the moment.
>> Yeah.
>> Uh because uh unfortunately claw viper had to drop uh as we know uh and are being replaced with >> because yeah >> uh so at the moment we are currently the uh only >> al we might photo overkill. Teratops sounded like they were interested in doing a grudge.
>> Yeah. So, >> we're we're helping.
>> We've also got another week.
>> What?
>> I'm using this as a chair.
>> You know that we use them for what we need in the moment.
>> We only have one chair.
>> It's a good >> Yep. Yep.
>> This is why people build long robots >> so we can use them >> for chairs. Throw the top shelf.
>> It's a bench for your friends.
>> All right. So, we're we're here with the Teratops team and apparently this one's for me.
>> It is indeed.
>> Just for you.
>> Just for me.
>> You can tell it's actually for me.
>> Clearly, somebody watched the Face Off episodes and figured out what Mad Chatter forgot.
>> We learned from other people's mistakes.
>> Yeah. So, is we got Bill's We got >> Where are your big forkies?
>> They are in uh they're not on right now.
We'll put them on later, but >> are they 4 foot? Are they at least 4 foot?
>> This is long enough for us.
>> And then we've got a quart in of >> top.
>> All right.
>> So, just don't even bother trying.
>> Oh, we have to try. That's the fun part.
We'll just go for the shaft.
>> Shaft.
>> That would be crazy.
>> If you cut the shaft would be >> Yeah.
talking to.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> You have to get around the back of us for that. Sub's gone very >> Oh.
