How This Cat Got a Library Card

[00:00:00]This library regular isn't your average visitor. His name is Muffin. He's 5 years old and he's also a cat. Muffin lives nearby with his owners, but almost every day he makes the same journey over to the local library. He walks right up to the front doors like he's ready to go and read a book, as if he belongs there, because at this point it seems like he actually does. The staff all know him very well, and so too do the visitors.

[00:00:19]He sits near the entrance like a greeter, watching people come and go.

[00:00:23]Sometimes his owners will call up and say, "Hey, muffin's on the way." And within minutes, he shows up at the door like he has a shift to clock into. He doesn't spend much time wandering the shelves or breeding because he's a cat.

[00:00:33]I don't know what you thought I was going to say there, but he prefers to stay near the front where the staff are and where he could easily be around people. And technically cats aren't allowed in the library, but they let it slide. Other places though aren't as understanding. And that's because his color with a location tag shows that he's also explored the nearby community center, wandered into a yach club dining room, and even caused a little bit of chaos there, which got him banned from returning. And so eventually the library decided to make it official, making Muffin a lifetime member with his own library card. And even to this day, he roams the library, happy to see familiar faces before heading back
