Klamath River at Klamathon Bridge - May 30, 2026

[00:00:00]Today is May 30th, 2026. I'm here up here at the Clamathon Bridge on the Clamoth River. I haven't been able to get up here for a while. I've had previous commitments on the weekends.

[00:00:11]So, I figured I'd make the trip up today and kind of see what the Clamoth River is looking like.

[00:00:20]You can kind of see the clarity, the rocks down there in the bottom.

[00:00:25]I haven't been up here for probably a month or so.

[00:00:30]Not sure if you can really tell in the camera, but the water definitely has a green hue to it.

[00:01:01]This week we've actually had quite a bit of rain. Um I think it might have rained up here a little bit yesterday morning.

[00:01:08]Um a couple days ago we had a torrential downpour. I know in Monagu we received over an inch. Um we had thunderstorms come through. It's the first real rain that we've had in a while.

[00:01:28]letting those cars go by. Our snow pack hasn't been great this year. Um we lost our snow pack in April. Typically our snow pack would uh disappear by miday.

[00:01:40]Um, so these rains that we're getting here recently this week have kind of helped in some matters at least at some moisture.

[00:01:55]Just kind of showing you what things look like from the top of the bridge.

[00:01:58]Shortly I will go down there to the beach side. We'll see what things look like down there.

[00:02:08]Definitely lots of swallows.

[00:02:15]This week has been cool. We've been in the 60s.

[00:02:20]Um before that we were in the pretty hot. We were in the 80s almost 90s at some points.

[00:02:30]See we got clouds in the sky today.

[00:02:35]So, anyways, this is what it's looking like from up here.

[00:02:40]Like I said, I don't know if my camera can do it justice. And you can see how green the water is, the green hue, which that's always going to be here because the water source comes from upper Clamoth Lake, which is known to be green.

[00:02:58]So, I come down here under the bridge.

[00:03:00]There is a car down here, so I'm going to try not to get that in my video.

[00:03:07]The clouds are sometimes covering the sun, so the sun kind of comes and goes.

[00:03:20]The water clarity here is actually pretty good. I can see all the vegetation in the water.

[00:03:36]We'll just kind of come along the bank here. Like I said, I'm going to try not to get the car.

[00:03:53]Might be easier to see the water clarity this way.

[00:04:00]Definitely still some sediment here.

[00:04:03]Um, this whole area used to be rocky.

[00:04:17]This is kind of what the beach area is looking like.

[00:04:23]So, I got my rubber boots on today. So, I'll walk out here.

[00:04:28]Looks like there is a little beetle. I don't know. I think you can see it right there.

[00:04:47]Can't walk out here too far so the doesn't go over my boots.

[00:04:54]Like I said, there is still sediment here. It does still feel sticky on the bottom of my boots.

[00:05:02]Just walking around, you can see it disturbs it.

[00:05:21]kind of looking. I don't really see much, but there's another little beetle.

[00:05:29]I think I just lost it.

[00:05:33]Water beetle.

[00:05:37]There's not much of a smell. I guess you could say it's kind of like the normal pond water kind of smell, but not as strong.

[00:05:51]Looking out across the water, I really don't see much for bugs at all. Maybe a couple here and there.

[00:06:03]I don't really see much on top of the water here except for the couple beetles that I've seen.
