What are Atoms? ⚛️ #ThingsChildrenNeedToKnow Episode 2 #TCNTK本站添加:
Things children need to know, episode two. What is an atom?
An atom is the smallest, tiniest component of all forms of matter. So, me, my skin, my body, my hair, the phone that you're holding, the wall in the room that you're in, the trees, the plants, the sun, the moon, all of the planets, all of the galaxies, all of the solar systems in the universe, the entire universe is made up of atoms.
And the even the smallest, tiniest thing you can think of, such as a grain of salt, is made up of millions and millions and millions of atoms. Atoms are so tiny, we can't see them with our eyes. And yet, when they come together, atoms form something called molecules.
And when molecules come together, they form bigger and bigger forms of matter.
And from the tiniest the tiniest atom comes, like I said, all of the planets, all of the solar systems, all the galaxies in the universe.
Each atom, which you can see under a special kind of microscope, each atom is made up of three other even smaller particles. In the middle, there are two subatomic particles called protons and neutrons. They team up together in the center of an atom to form the nucleus of the atom, the middle of the atom.
And then, whizzing around the nucleus of the atom, kind of like a moon, but in a much more of a not quite so a smooth or a way as the moon's orbit, are these tiny, tiny particles called electrons.
And these electrons whiz around, around, around the nucleus of every single atom.
So, an atom is the tiniest particle of matter that we that that that makes up all forms of matter. You are made of atoms, I'm made of atoms, the Earth is made of atoms, the moon, the sun, everything that has matter, everything that is made of matter
