Uh, you know, I if I dedicate every Sunday, some some people Saturday, some people go on Wednesdays.

That's more than a month and a half. And I mean, and you want me to just like waste it and go to this I guess the idea is that it's not a waste. You want me to go to be a part of this community of people that are echochambering unprovable things off of they just have faith and believe that this is real with no real basis. And you want me to pay money to them so they can continue to develop that? Nah.

[00:02:16]Joe Bart is an atheist. We have a Reddit uh Reddit fedor wearing um [ __ ] who apparently I don't know anything about this that um is appar to get dug into or tore into by uh Papa Gut apparently.

I mean >> it's like yes if you're talking about the concept of it for a lot of people that that find themselves labeling that label themselves as atheist. Like if I myself um I think that uh a lot of people have problems with a position of agnosticism um because they're they're like they think that you're a fence writer. Um, but that's where I find myself. It's like I have no reason to believe in God.

[00:03:22]I think that the universe has its natural ways and there and and you can describe that as there are certain forces at be. uh you know I think that things are just a certain way uh or physics- wise and like there are constants but there are things that break those constants though like stuff stuff's more val mal physics is more malleable than we give it credit for but uh where I'm at is uh there there is no like conscious entity that is God if if it is then if there is I think it would be in the form of we are a dream or simulation and what is God is either the thing that is dreaming or the thing that is simulating. I run through hypothetical situations in my head all day. I get I'll get stuck and in between two different actions and all of a sudden I'm zoned out thinking about some [ __ ] that will never occur that has never occurred. Because what happens on the grand scale happens on a on a micro scale, right? Um the same way pollen blows in the wind and catches another another flower. The same way is the same way that stars explode and send matter other places and that matter impacts other places and then gravity turns that all that [ __ ] into a star eventually and and it happens over and over again. Like there are these processes that permeate and permeation is really existence, right? Things that can that last are are what exist on every level. The virality of matter, life, birth and or like life, reproduction and death follow that kind of that that line of thinking. Um plan on like celestial bodies follow that line of thinking. Um, and then you also get uh you could call it physical still too because it's like chemical reactions in your brain and [ __ ] with your consciousness, but you could call that physical too. But like the mental um stuff that permeates mentally is what lasts. For a lot of people that's mental issues, a lot of negatives. Um, but uh you also get these viral concepts like political matters, you know, like you get the uh second amendment debate. Um and you get people that the idea or ideas that fall on one side permeate in a certain way and the ones that are fall on the other side permeate a different way. Whatever has staying power uh or you can call it staying power, you could call it longevity, you could call it vitality, all these things. Stuff that can make itself stick around some way uh or and and spread. people I've seen atheists make some it depends on the person some probably just this isn't real but some well I guess they don't believe in God so they can't hate God but they'll say things >> mythology is fun but I it's a westernized my my I have a westernized viewpoint of it because from growing up in in where I grew up at there's a lot of Baptists around here a lot of Baptists and a lot of Methodists so but that's what I I grew up with the with the perception that those were religions right that's a religion or those are forms of religion. They all fall under Christianity which then falls under like Abrahamic stuff uh religion um but it's a religion it's active and that's really I guess the delineation but uh uh that would that would matter in in certain contexts but being but that that stuff's not like pushed in schools. So it was very weird. It was cool. I thought it was dope. I still I still love mythology. Mythology is fun, but there it's it's mythology is a word that is used to separate old belief systems from modern belief systems. Like there isn't anyone out there with the belief that Zeus exists and has impacts on the world and interacts with things and causes things to happen like thunderstorms that like that. There isn't anyone that does that anymore. So that's probably the delineate the real delineation. But from like the way I experienced the the way that they're treated separately, religion and mythology is uh religion's real and mythology is this like goofy [ __ ] It's not. There's like this weird Maybe it has to do with the and like a lot of it is uh uh look all these goofy characters in myth. All these goofy characters. Um, mythology has no more characters than like Greek myth, even though it was um, you know, the the the actual beliefs and stories and and and fables told were all different because word of mouth was a big deal and that was how things passed back then. That's how things went had virality was word of mouth. So you end up with the for me as an elementary schooler in gifted and talented cuz I was like doing well enough in class that they would rather me be taken out of class and they can focus on they can throw some other stuff in front of me to keep me occupied and um take a load off of the teachers that actually have students that still need to be work like worked with to understand whatever's actively going on.

[00:08:54]Gifted talent is nothing special. It's a different type of special needs. Um, in a way I think uh it helps it helped me but it also fed into uh my this idea that I'm smarter than other people, right? So like that that didn't that that uh impacted and uplifted my ego which was in a way good because I felt good about myself but in a way bad because I was positioning myself into like the way I perceived my my intellect was above others at a at a very young age elementary school. So when in Gifted and Untitled they threw Greek myth in front of us and it was positioned to to us as this thing as uh goofy, outdated, um unreasonable and it's really just not that at all. Like the amount of unique characters in it isn't what isn't what that comes from like really comes from.

[00:09:46]It like the the the it would be um like there's a god for every couple of things, right? like Poseidon would be the god of the seas and probably something else that I'm forgetting and horses or something. And uh he that two things that don't really line up well together, but like that that was just like the his short list of stuff that he is the god of. And like you have all these different gods that have their different little lists or groups of [ __ ] that they that they oversee. that's supposed to be like ridiculous compared to one guy who um cuz that's what God is supposed to be, right? That's what the Christian God is or the Abrahamic God is is this dude that is also multiple people when you get to the like New Testament I'm I'm pretty sure is where where that idea comes from like the Trinity, the Holy Trinity in Christianity. Uh that shit's hilarious that they try and position Myth in in a different light when the our our one guy is also three guys. This guy Yeah. Like this one dude who's supposed to be everything and all powerful compared to a much more human idea of all these people have responsibilities and roles that they are that's like their thing.

[00:10:59]And that can be a lot uh that can give you a better perception of things like instead of trying to be enlightened and be better than other people and reach a certain level and be accepted and validated by this perfect being God and be in to be led into heaven. You have a in Greek myth, you have role models and uh not not maybe role models, you have heroes, you have tragedy, you have uh love stories, you have this wide variety of fables of my mythical stories that ex a a a point across, a lesson across, something to learn in each story. Um different angles to look at look at from and because no one is perfect. Um, and often often the god is which is a authority figure slash power one that holds power is often an [ __ ] that tracks with humanity. That is much more human. If you have power, you're probably a prick. That's more human.

[00:12:13]like you you you are a fireman or you are an electrician or you are uh an accountant like you have your thing you stay within that field and you're good at it you like it's like that seems more obtainable certainly more than perfection and when you try and make the when I and I think that when you try as a Christian would try and make the argument that you you are perfect my food's here I got a little Caesar I mean, if God is a fourthdimensional being, maybe punishment for eternity is not that big of a deal because eternity is not that big of a deal. So, maybe it's a maybe there is a lack of empathy from the higher being.

[00:13:10]>> Not in a state of permanence. you can actually believe the universe is like alive in some capacity, >> right? The same way that like your human anatomy and biology is made up of like all these little things that have no mind of their own that just do what they're supposed to do because that's how they've permeated their existence is they've they exist within the system that is the human anatomy and biology.

[00:13:31]>> Like what you hear about all the time and and joked about is the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell. That [ __ ] was its own being, its own like cellled organism and it got absorbed by a cell that had its own organs uh within the cell and the mitochondria began to get read its structure and all that began to get read by the cell and when it when the cell permeated itself it included that blueprint. So that's how the mitochondria stuck around. So like the same way that you can believe that humans are made up of little things that have no conscious and we become a summary of these things but we or we are a summary of these things but we have consciousness then what is what is going against like uh or what's it's going to be hard to argue that the universe isn't alive itself.

[00:14:29]>> It doesn't. Yeah. Yeah, the uh the whole like it's God's plan sentiment is a way for things to just be written off. It helps people cope. Uh it helps make people not want to question things. It doubles down on the faith aspect of the belief which then in in turn reinforces the uh organizational aspect of the religion. Like the church benefits from that.

[00:14:52]>> They don't care about babies after they die. But I think it's just because like once you're baptized, the sin is gone.

[00:15:00]They're born now. They're baptized. If they die, they'll still go to heaven. I think that that's what that is.

[00:15:08]>> There are some people who um feel like everything is directed at them. And if you have if you have a disagreeable uh perspective on something and it conflicts with theirs, they take it as like a personal attack sometimes, you know. And I think that if if you're the type of religious individual who grows up where like you need to spread your perspective, >> um you might be you might have a higher chance of feeling this way.

[00:15:28]>> Try find some meaning in the universe for myself and a purpose in my own life prior to my own death.

[00:15:44]>> We'll read the comments in a bit and all of them are saying that I'm being like controlled by the devil and I need to turn to God and something, but it's like I don't think that's what it is. I think I'm just struggling to know what I believe.

[00:15:56]Yeah. the uh uh ability for religious folk to pin blame on this face this faceless entity that is just evil and that's the whole purpose of the entity's existence is evil. It opens the up it opens up avenues for that for that to translate into real life situations where you can pin blame on on people and say that it's the devil's work or go into it with the like you it sets you up to be able to pred have it predetermined that this thing is evil and I can't trust it and there's nothing I can nothing I I shouldn't I shouldn't do anything with this. I shouldn't interact with this. Shouldn't be blah blah blah.

[00:16:40]I'm on the good side. And when you like limit yourself like that or or categorize yourself and be like, well, I am a good person for sure. I'm on the right side, you know, like I'm on the I'm on the good side. I'm on the right side. Then that can lead to that person just like not questioning their own actions because they just have the assumption that they're the that they're the good guys. They wouldn't do anything bad. that uh they won't they'll only do good things when in reality that's not true. There is no absolute good and absolute evil. Morality is fluid. It's not only different from person to person, but it changes from from day to day for each person. Um or it can change daytoday. We've seen um quite a few stories that were fictional stories in modern or um in modern not just today's literature and media but in the past hundred years of of literature and general media. We've seen works of fiction taken and developed into faiths, whether considered a religion or a cult or whatever. I forget I forget what exactly it was about, but there was this one about this character named Thor. I remember watching hearing about it on a podcast a long time ago, like way some years and years and years ago, and it was this fictional story that got ripped and turned into that like some some handful or one person online or or before it was before the internet actually uh spread it as as as misinformation to develop basically this like it was it might have even started as like a a proto ARG before that was a term and it just got a bunch of people convinced. And so now that there now there was a bunch of people that believed that that character existed and all these things were real from the story even though it was all originally a work of fiction. Um and there and that's not the only example. That's just the one that I that comes to mind. Uh, so like why why like that's clearly possible to rip a piece of fiction and and intentionally stretch and misconstrued it for your own benefit of building up a community of of faith for authority or for power or monetary reasons or whatever. ever >> too much.

[00:19:23]>> Everyone makes money off of selling their own book, you know, >> because there's a lot of different groups like >> Yeah. Religion religion can be a slippery slope because it once you get this like structural concept of who's who is who and who's bad, who's good, who's who's uh holy or divine or or demonic and and sinful and all that. you start to piece together a hierarchy for you and people around you. Um, or things that aren't people around you like animals or sometimes that leads to people calling other people's animals, >> social Darwinism.

[00:20:05]>> I don't know what I I know what I don't believe in and I don't believe in any organized religion that has been put forth in front of me.

[00:20:11]>> That's very interesting because usually I feel like people start to gravitate towards religion once like like a loved one passes. So, I do find that like a little bit interesting.

[00:20:20]No.

[00:20:21]>> I would just hope that >> Yeah. Like when you lose a family member, you end up like in a vulnerable position and you get taken advantage of.

[00:20:28]People promise you the people, this organization will uh religion pro like the people that run it promise you all these great things and all these revelations and and this purity in your life and and and all good and and you feel so bad right now, but just know just that that there is a guaranteed seat for you in paradise. And like that promise is so it it really does prey upon vulnerable people. Um the Abrahamic struct there's something inherent about the Abrahamic structure that leads to longevity because it's like it allows for it allows people to feel better than others. Um even in um some eastern beliefs where it's like there's this whole overall guy or entity the god thing that is the universe and all existence. it uh enlightenment is the path to get out of the constant rebirth cycle and become one again with him. Um even there there's like this drive to be perfect and achieve perfection and I think that that can um really negatively impact someone's thought processes. I cannot believe in them because when I try, even if I go through the the swings and the motions of it, in the back of my head, I will always know that I doubt it. And so when I sit there and I tell myself like I need to just believe in this, it's like a worm in your brain that's always telling you that. And a lot of people would say that's the devil.

[00:22:06]But the first thing we have to ask is how do you know life ends? They don't.
