[00:00:13]I just came to the beach in Bali and it's actually trash. There is a trash crisis. restricted open dumping grounds like this one in April. Sounds like a good move, but there aren't enough alternatives. By the way, a lot of trash here actually comes from [music] tourists. They make up more than one and a half times Bali's population. Only about a third of Indonesia's recycled or processed. The rest ends up in nature.

[00:00:36]When it's burned, it fills the [music] air with toxic smoke. When it rots in landfills, it releases methane, a powerful greenhouse gas. One simple solution? More composting. Here waste gets more oxygen, which keeps out the microbes that produce methane. It breaks down quickly and turns into [music] rich soil, aka natural fertilizer. It's not a full fix, but a step to save paradise.
