[00:00:01]Good evening, folks. Brian here, at Geomagnetic Earth Watch, Tuesday, May 12th, 2026. Let's do a brief space weather brief brief brief space weather report. I'm not going to edit that out.

[00:00:18]Current solar wind speeds nominal, 350 km/s. It's not making a connection with our magnetic field.

[00:00:25]There's nothing to worry about, except for coronal hole opening.

[00:00:30]Let's go take a look, see. Uh first of all, this is our down view, sun, Earth.

[00:00:36]Coronal mass ejections are blasting clear away from Earth.

[00:00:45]This is our solar wind streams coming from this fairly large coronal hole opening.

[00:01:02]>> [clears throat] >> Equatorial, which means it will be making a connection with Earth.

[00:01:08]It is releasing the fast solar winds directed toward toward Earth, approximately now. They will arrive in approximately 2 days.

[00:01:41]Here's our coronal hole stream.

[00:01:51]It'll reach Earth on approximately the 14th, in 2 days, at 0400 UTC.

[00:02:06]The bulk of it will last until 10:00 p.m., 10:30 p.m.

[00:02:27]These are forecast models. They are predictions.

[00:02:32]Solar wind speeds are predicted to be approximately 670 km per second, approximately.

[00:02:51]Taking a look at the sunspot region here, in the northern hemisphere. So, we have a very strong negative polarity, very, very weak positive polarity.

[00:03:00]Not a concern at this time.

[00:03:04]This one here, as it's now at the western limb, what the Possibility, probability of a major flare blasting off the west limb.

[00:03:44]Yeah, right. I'll not trust you.

[00:03:52]So, NOAA is predicting a G1 minor, therefore possibly a G2 moderate.

[00:03:59]Patience.

[00:04:01]Don't worry about it.

[00:04:05]Very minor.

[00:04:13]So starting at 48 hours, we'll watch this. We'll watch for a rise in the index.

[00:04:19]This is the measure of the of geomagnetic instability.

[00:04:28]Then if it starts spiking up to say above six, between six and seven, then we'll do a calculation, estimation, approximation, a suggestion of where there might be uh increased seismic and or volcanic activity.
